We visited the shop for a complete vehicle inspection. They were unprofessional as we expected a list of things they checked. They charged 85 for it and didnt even provide much feedback on the car. After requesting several times they wrote a note saying car is good to purchase. They then wrote that sway bar links are worn out and need to be replaced soon. We were so under confident after their review that we decided to do another inspection elsewhere. We only spent 35 at other place and they checked the sway bar links too, and they marked that the links were completely fine. Dont recommend these guys at all!

They are a small shop that has a good reputation because they care for their customers. My car was making weird noise in the front right wheel when turning left. I went in to the shop this morning. I explained the noise. They immediately came to check the car. Took the car for a ride. Pointed out the noise. Came back to the shop. They lifted the car and started diagnosing the problem. 20 minutes later, they told me that it was the front wheel bearing that needs replacement. Upfront they told me how much it was going to cost, and gave me the option to fix it or not. I was ok with the price quote, so I left my car in the shop. I had work, and need to go back home. I asked them and they were nice enough to drive me back home. Two hours later, they called and informed me my car was ready. They came to my place and drove me back to the shop.On the way back, I talked to the mechanic. He has been doing this for 30 years! A true professional. Very smart and sharp!Overall, the best auto repair experience I have had. Very professional, and on time. Very experienced staff. Definitely recommend 10/10.

I came in for a quick oil change and service was fast. I brought my own full synthetic oil and filter and they only charged labor. Sam waived the disposal fee and I was quickly on my way. Much easier, cleaner and quicker than doing it myself. Will be back for sure. 5 stars

Replace my alternator for a new one ( that’s what they say). Got a life time warranty on it but gone bad after 4 months. New alternator shouldn’t go bad after a couple months. $540 wasted. Definitely not coming back.

They performed the work and then provided me the cost which is 100% not ok nor professional. Typically a shop runs a diagnostic and quotes you and gets approval for any work to be done, they did not do this. When I picked up car they didnt provide me an invoice either. When I drove off the engine light came back on and overheating issue they supposedly fixed was still happening not even 5 miles down road, we took it back and they once again said they fixed at no charge. The emphasized how they were doing us a favor apparently neglecting that we already paid for them to fix and never did get an invoice to see labor or part costs.... once again after getting car the very next day it broke down again for same issues not being fixed and once again they refused to provide an invoice to us for the work that was done. They did issue a refund to us when we demanded it. We took to another shop who did fix but also told us what work they were going to do and quotes us before actually doing it, showed us the old parts and provided an invoice. This shop was extremely not professional and sketch.

Took very good care of me whenever I brought in my cars. I have taken in multiple cars of mine here and they have always been very helpful and reasonable with prices. I’m military and had to turn in my 4runner to the vehicle processing center in El Cajon. Found out last minute my parking brake didnt work and had to get fixed to turn it in. These guys fit me in right away understanding my urgency.Very skilled technicians, i was super impressed watching them trying to get the parts loose that had been frozen from years of rust and essentially refurbishing my parts on their workbench. Most places would have probably just had me buy $1000 worth of parts and replace everything, taking hours i didnt have to do so, but these guys had some serious skill and saved me $ and got my car ready for vpc turn in within a couple hours.Fair shop rates, i wouldnt hesitate to trust these guys with your car. Don’t be put off by street appearance of shop, looks a little crowded in the front from all the cars there and this may put some customers off from that- but you have a gem of a shop hidden back there with very friendly staff and very professional. Good skill there, i cant say enough about those guys.

I have a 2011 335i BMW and came in on a tow truck due to a snapped belt. Not only did these guys replace it but looked way deeper into what caused it. Something 2 other shops missed. And even after that the car broke down again due to some faulty parts under warranty at the other shop. These guys helped me get the car towed back to LA overnight. These guys went way above and beyond what is expected from any shop or dealer at this point. The price was fair and to the point. They didnt bounce around or leave me stranded. Got the car back to me as soon as they could and honestly if I lived here I would come back for standard work. Without a doubt would go back to these guys again if I need to

I got lucky finding this place through a recommendation and they did a 300zx timing kit for less than anyone else I talked to and did it way quicker than I had hoped for and made sure their work was solid. Very honest and experienced people, John and Sam are the best, My wife has Honda Accord 2017 with the Ac not working and needed a specific part to be replaced that requires the whole dashboard to be unassembled and put back together. The dealership asked for literally triple what those guys asked for in-spite of the fact that I bought the car from the dealer ( Honda of El Cajon) and drove it 40 k only, the dealer said warranty ends by 36k.Anyway dropped the car in the morning and picked it up by 3 pm. They put it back like original. I was so happy with the repair. They did not even accept any tip. Now the car is back like new!

I went to this auto repair shop because I was having AC problem on my car. I called after working hours and surprisingly Sam picked up and said I can drop my car off anytime the next day for a free inspection. Turns out I was having a leak and my car needs AC line high pressure valve replacement. Sam gave me a honest price and was able to fix it under 4 hours after he came up with the diagnostic. I highly recommend you give them a try instead of going to car dealership and get charged as twice as many $$$ for a simple fix. I would definitely go back to this place for all my car issue in the future, oil change included.

I was in need of a mechanic. So I was recommended SD Auto Repair located at 1318 Broadway El Cajon, CA 92021. I called ahead of time set an appointment. When I got down there Sam the owner came to greet me. He was able to take my car and begin diagnostics after 25-30 minutes he was able to show me exactly what the problem was with my car. What I appreciate the most was he was able to show me the problem and explain the process within just a few minutes he was able to quote me parts, labor and a timeframe for when the car will be ready. It was the best experience with a mechanic Ive had in a long time. The reason is most mechanics are just gonna try to get your money and don’t care about fixing the problem. Lets start from that Sam is very honest guy and the way he works is all about integrity and being authentic!!!My story I got Lexus is 350 2010 and recently I had found a leak in my engine and few places that I went all if them add the certainty that the leak comes from the Time chain cover which was needed to be taken the whole engine out and cost was from $2000 - $4000 and non of them even tried the wash the engine and to diagnostic again!!!!!!!!!Whole what was needed to be replaced it was just a small cable that been deteriorated with time!!!!!!!!Thanks man I will always get back there!!!!If you can find more or better honest guys like San this days let me know lolThanks man again!!!!!!

Needed a new alternator and got same day service on a Saturday with quite reasonable price. Honest and helpful and offered to drive me home. I would unreservedly recommend them!

Most honest mechanic I ever done business with. Got brakes done on my jeep, when firestone could not get the lug nuts off.Fixed water pump on my Chevy avalanche. For half the cost the Chevy dealership wanted to charge. This guy really cares about his customers.

Been going to this place for years. I used to go to Advantec off Adams Ave, then they moved their business to this address off Twain Ave. Same staff and owner. Staff is always very polite, prompt, and informative. Sean is always honest and upfront about what is necessary to do now and what can be put off for a little longer (if youre on a budget). I plan on keeping my car for a very long time and I know these guys are the ones who can help me do it. I dont even live near this place anymore - I live 25 minutes away - but I still come back every 3,000 miles for an oil change and safety check.
