This is a really surprising place! They have fresh coffee and heckin good lunch sandwiches. They even roast their own coffee beans if youre looking for coffee beans/grounds to take home. Theres a bunch of different restaurants in the area, but if youre looking for a chill spot to have a one on one lunch with a friend/relative/coworker, this would be a perfect spot. The inside seating area was surprisingly large with plenty of segmented seating were you feel like you have privacy. Their menu accommodates vegan, vegetarian, and dairy free.

Great location, great ambience and it’s big for a coffee shop. The coffee is amazing but I felt it was not hot enough. That’s the only issue I had. The lattes and latte art was great. The pastries were delicious. Took my mom on a coffee date during fall and she loved it. It’s a hidden secretive place with great coffee. Nice place to click photos.

Excuse that my coffee is 1/2 gone, just too good to wait for a photo! Smiths is a WONDERFUL place to grab coffee or food. Their food isnt only delicious but makes you feel good too. I did a grab and go due to COVID-19 state orders and the order held up 100% until I got home. The staff is so friendly and they are following the ordinances closely to keep us all safe. Highly recommend stopping!

This is my wife’s favorite coffee shop when she just want to get away or get some work done. I’ve come to enjoy it as well, with friendly staffs, good coffee and meal options. Then they have several indoor, outdoor and back seating options. Also around the back of the building there is a business that sells plants as well. Overall, great spot to meet up, get some work done with great coffee.

We sat on the patio and it was lovely. Not too crowded. Coffee was fine. The plain breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg and avocado was too bland. Needs some zhoozh that isnt spicy like aioli... if I went again I would try the sauces (little odd they are add ons).

On a road trip and happened to look for the closest coffee shop (that wasn’t one of those big brands) and found Smith Coffee & Cafe! What a find! Wish we had more time to just sit and enjoy our coffee! What a cozy spot and convenient off the highway during a bad rain storm. There were lots of goodies to choose from although I just stuck with the coffee. Fresh roasted coffee is not something you can complain about and the coffee was very good! There’s quite a history about the historic location and definitely worth a visit!

Its a cozy piece of history, but its inhabited by young professionals on laptops and hipster types. That said, theres very good coffee with beans roasted in-house, its proudly displayed in the main area. Sometimes I get very suspicious of in-house roasted beans because its so easy to mess it up and burn them but I was very surprised at the flavor of my coffee (which I took black). Somewhat fruity taste with low acidity, so it must have been a light roast with very fresh grounds. The food was a little expensive, but they offer a unique takes with great ingredients - the BLT includes a tomato jam instead of a fresh slice. I liked that.

My love for Smiths is HUGE! They provide fantastic coffee, wonderful food and a friendly staff. On top of that the adorable cottage is cozy, and has lots of space to chat, work and has a relaxing environment both inside and outside. Additionally, Smith allowed us the opportunity for my husband to sit outside during COVID on the patio and in gazebo to talk to a bank and start a successful business! Lastly, Smiths was a place I came weekly to escape and rejuvenate while going through chemotherapy. If you’ve not checked out this gem - get a vanilla nutmeg oatmilk latte and you won’t regret it.

You are immediately welcomed by a cozy house that once was residence of a family and their history is displayed in the cafe.Like a traditional Italian cafe, it serves few coffee options and some standard breakfast meals. The menu is limited so it was a disappointment especially as there was no vegan dish. They make their own bread and roast their beans so it is expected to be a fresh food place. On a winter morning, there is enough sunlight that you can soak while enjoying your first meal.If you are someone who works on weekends, this place can be handy as lot of people stay bit longer than breakfast with their laptops and notebooks. The best thing I liked was the use of common utility objects to do the decore. The merchandise table that creates a small passage to separate order line from rest of sitting area or the coffee roasting machine which acts as a mid century artifact displayed in bold orange color and few old historic pieces give the vibe of entering an old site .You must go with low hopes and come back all cheered up .

This place is one of the most adorable coffee shops Ive been to. I love, love, love the ambiance. Its somewhere between farmhouse and modern chic. There are plenty of plugins, the wifi is excellent, and the food/coffee very satisfactory. Yes, it does get very loud, but I brought my noise-cancelling headphones so it wasnt much of an issue.I do wish they had white chocolate and even more seating. When I got there at 11:00 a.m. on a Monday, it was so packed that I had to wait for a table.

My 1st time here (4/11/21), they open at 8am, we made a reservation for 830am to play it safe, it seems to get busier after 9-10am.A lovely historical building turned cafe, its a beautiful and comfortable space for coffee and/or breakfast, and socializing. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, and even with social distancing there are at least a dozen outdoor table/bench options spread throughout.Theres a window for walkup orders, we chose to sit inside. The food was good, though I was disappointed that 2 coffees and 2 breakfast sandwiches were $35, especially since there is no table service---you must QR the menu, order, and pay online, which took 5x longer than if she just took our order...and we had to call her over for questions as it was. Technology may offer some efficiency for the business model, but it takes away from the customer experience. They use paper baskets and plasticware, hopefully only until after the pandemic. The staff was friendly, and they thanked us for coming.I recommend you try this place, Ill be back too!

Best coffee in the burbs (they use Dogwood beans) and great Rustica pastries. The monkey bread should be a national sensation: croissant dough pieces caramelized like a caramel roll. They also have eggs, sausage, bacon etc if youre not looking to carb load for breakfast. During the heavy rain yesterday, my daughter and I visited Smith Coffee. We were told by the young man at the outdoor counter we could not go inside, so we placed our order at the unsheltered counter, exposed to the rain. We took cover on the front porch on the other side of the entrance, waiting for four flat whites, two hot chocolates and one black tea. We noticed a woman with a child inside the coffee shop, and also a second woman working on a laptop inside the shop, so not sure about the covid rules here. We are relocating to the area and waiting for household goods to arrive. It took approximately ten minutes for the order, and the coffee was fine. However, the hot chocolates were no more than pale brown warm water which dont appear to have included chocolate. The large black tea was lukewarm milky water with a single teabag that had not steeped at all before being covered with cold milk. I had asked for cream and sugar for the hot tea, but if its added prior to the teabag being steeped in very hot or boiling water, then it just becomes lukewarm, milky water. I understand the specialty at Smith is coffee, but perhaps the other products could be taken off the menu until the staff has mastered the art of making them. I remember the coffee shop from the past as Dunn Bros., but yesterdays experience at Smith was such a disappointment all round which I know could be improved upon with the right training and initiative. The only coffee shop in the eden prairie area worth visiting. Unlike most of the area thats large chains and malls, this is a cute, local café that roasts their own coffee, cooks their own food, and bakes their own pastries. They make a delightful cortado and a good latte. Their glazed donut is decent, the glaze has a decent caramelization to it, but I wish it were either a bit firmer or a bit fluffier. As it is, the middling texture didnt feel all that satisfying. However Im not docking stars for that, especially since everything else is phenomenal, especially the ambiance. Stop by, check it out.
