The place is one of favorites to come and grab a coffee and do homework. It’s really cozy and the music just makes it perfect. They have amazing coffee especially the bourbon barrel Carmel mocha. The lighting is perfect. This is exactly the place to be on a dark rainy day.

Having still remembered the original location back in the day, I was interested to see what the new one was like.Although it definitely has a different feel from what it used to, its still as nicer than the Mega chains. Drinks were very good and we found the pastries to be definitely above average. I notice theyve also branched into some savory lunch and breakfast items. We really enjoyed the fireplace out front on the chilly day. Also nice that they have outside seating for warmer months.

Great place! I had an iced ginger tea that was fantastic. Their ginger was strong, but not to the point that it was spicy. Incredibly refreshing. This venue has a really nice interior for large and small groups .

I love this coffee shop. It has the best tasting coffee of all of the nearby coffee shops. It has great atmosphere and tons of outdoor seating. My friends love the fresh baked cookies and I love the sandwiches. Dont pass this by if youve never been.

It is not a third wave coffee place (which is what I think when I hear the name). Cozy place to work or read with a fireplace. Lattes are good (from what I hear). The Ginger dragon is worth a trip there. Many people love this place. I wouldnt go there for a great cup of coffee but not a bad place to meet with friends or work on a laptop.

Latte Wednesday’s ($2.50 any size) were by far the highlight of my week when I was a student. Sandwiches are delicious and pastries are made in-house. Barista’s are friendly and make the drinks as fast as they can. With great service it’s no wonder that the line can be out the door sometimes.

They have a bunch of tasty hot and cold drink options, and tend to be quick on the uptake. They definitely need more staff, the poor people working are rushing desperately to keep up (one time I was there they only had 1 person for the whole closing shift, poor kid). They do a good job with who they have, though, no worries as a customer.

A wonderful little coffee shop on Grand River in the middle of MSUs campus. Thanks coffee here is phenomenal, and the pastries are good, too. Decent prices for a coffee shop, and better brew than the Starbucks down the street.

I dig Espresso Royale in general, but I really like this one for studying. Its got a very chill vibe, much less hectic than the one on Grand River. Dont get me wrong, I love bustling coffee shops, but sometimes you need to dig into a book without constant distractions. The baristas really keep this place clean. Drink are tasty, of course. Parking can be a hassle, though.

There’s really not a lot of coffee options in east Lansing. I’ve been going to espresso for a couple years now regularly because the coffee is better than Starbucks and 8/10 the service is fantastic. There’s just one lady who is super rude and short with customers. She makes customers feel awkward and unwelcome. Definitely doesn’t make me want to come back.

By far my favorite coffeeshop in the Lansing area, visiting Espresso Royale has never left me disappointed or disenfranchised in any way. They have incredibly friendly staff who always manage to brighten my mornings. In addition to fantastic espresso and many hard to find coffee varieties, they also freshly bake scones, muffins, cookies, and have a nice selection of some niche candies. As icing on the cake, Espresso Royal uses the flock tag rewards card system.

I started coming here with a friend after Wanderers Tea House closed down. Ive tried their specialty drinks numerous times and have only had maybe 2 good drinks out of the bunch. The coffee tastes really burnt and it overpowers the entire drink. The tea isnt bad, but it doesnt seem that fresh. The pastries are pretty good, but theyre not worth how much they cost. I would have given it 1 star, but I like the outdoor patio.

Ive gone here a couple of times and have a few things to say. If youre looking for great atmosphere this is the place to go. They have comfortable furniture and dim lights that create a very comfy and cozy vibe. Other than that, the rest ranges from mediocre to bad. The COFFE/espresso is just a step above Starbucks and is a lot more expensive. Their customer service is also pitiful. While sometimes friendly, a lot of the time the baristas come off as insincere. In addition, a lot of the time youll have to wait 5+ minutes waiting in line because either one of the baristas is having a conversation with a friend of theirs/customer or theyre no where near the register and are off doing something else.
