I had car problems while on vacation over the holiday weekend. I didnt have an appointment but the manager, Shane took my car right away and found the problem. I was out of there in less than an hour. The prices are great and the friendly service is phenomenal.
UPDATE - I marked the wrong Midas location! Sorry. This applies to the one at 1965 US-1, North Brunswick Township, NJ 08902. Cannot find a way to delete this posting or tag it to the other location.Appears to have a new owner. Brought Subaru there to replace one steering rack Subaru dealer said was leaking. They replaced it & car steering was messed up. Took back to Subaru & they reported new rack does not match the car. Because bolts not aligning, Midas “sewed” it onto the car with wire. Also broke the steering angle sensor in the process. This franchise cannot be trusted anymore.
I usually don’t write reviews . But I worked with this place once before . I came into Midas to get my muffler replaced which took hours. I was under the impression that if I purchased the part I needed it would have lifetime warranty and that if anything happened I could come back get it fixed or replaced at no charge. I came back here two years later to have my muffler looked it because i was having a problem with it and they told me I had to pay for labor which was almost the cost of the muffler itself . The person who sold me this piece never told me anything about having to pay for labor . When I called in again to speak to someone, the guy on the phone(Paul ) was rude and told me to “hold on lady “. I definitely won’t be back here again and urge anyone who goes here to make sure you have all the information you need when it comes to anything you buy . It seems to me like they just wanted to take more money from me .
I have gone to other Midas’s in the past with absolutely fantastic service. Last night I took my Jeep Wrangler in to this location for a routine oil change. I usually change my own oil due to under par experiences elsewhere, but due to the cold and pending snow, I figured I’d let someone else do it for the first time in 3 years. What a mistake... They proceeded to tell me my battery was dead which was hard to believe because I get dashboard notifications if my battery voltage is firing low and I had no issues with the car prior to my visit. They then handed me an estimate of $350 dollars for a battery. I was appalled. I could get a top-line battery with free installation for $200. I told them to jump the car and get me out of there. I get home and check my voltage, it’s perfect. I turn the car off, turns back on without issue. After sitting all night, I turned it on this morning with no problems. Who ever works there is making up issues with your car for more profit. I do not recommend going there if you’re uneducated about cars. They’ll rip you off. I like Midas as a company, but the employees at this specific location are scam artists.
Recently moved back to the area and desperately needed an oil change on my 11 year old, over 100,000 mile, little SUV. A Google search showed Midas was right up the street! I called and Paul said come on over! ☆ Paul was very informative when I got there of the different types of oil changes and the PRICES WERE REALLY GREAT for all the options! ☆ Then he informed me of the exhaust problem... which I knew, but completely forgot about! I got used to how loud my car had gotten! I knew I needed to get it looked at, but again, didnt have a mechanic here ... He took me to the bay and showed me the underside of my car while up on the lift, and fully explained what was wrong, what could happen if I kept driving like this, and said they can fix it right then and there!!! They have the part and would be done in about an hour! ☆ THE PRICE SOUNDED VERY FAIR AND REASONABLE ☆ Especially considering if I didnt fix it, I already knew it was a matter of time until I did some serious damage to my vehicle! I went outside, started my car, and SILENCE!!! I ran inside, so excited, and thanked Paul profusely!!! If it wasnt for COVID, I would have given him the BIGGEST HUG EVER!!! ☆ I WILL DEFINITELY BE GOING TO MIDAS OF EAST BRUNSWICK FROM NOW ON!!! Thank you so much! 👨🔧🚗💜
Very poor work ethics.Customer service is equally poor. The man at the reception is very rude and condescending. He calls himself Jay or something like that..Pls dont waste your time going there.
Love this place, have coming here for 10 years. Always great service!
Good prices and friendly staff
I’ve been going to Paul and Omar for over 7 yrs always takes care of me and my family, great guys and even better service keep up the good work fellas.
Very rude staff, charged me extra fee for nothing
Have been going to this Midas for many years and will continue to do so. Never have had any major issue with the quality of work performed or with the prices I have been charged. Paul and Omar always manage to squeeze me in even on days they are super busy. I highly recommend.
Fast service
Took my car in for brake job. Not only did they do a good job, the prices were very reasonable. Paul the owner was very polite and professional. He provided a great customer service. Thank you Paul. I would definitely be recommending this place to all my friends.
Me and my Family have been taking our cars to this specific Midas for many years. All the staff is excellent the mechanics are good and the owner Paul is always there and on top of everything. Excellent work fair prices job well done! They are good and all mechanical work in maintenance and prevent to work as well.
Had to come back for the same problem twice already. They never fixed it correctly the first time & after bringing it back I ended up with the same problem a few weeks later. I promise u do not want to give them your money.
If I could give ZERO stars I would. Omar is nice. Stay AWAY from Paul. Far away.
I noticed a spot in my parking space under my company car so I stopped by Midas to have it checked. Sure enough it was the oil pan & seal causing the leak. They had to have the part delivered so it would be awhile. I had a video teleconference I had to attend so I told Omar, I would be outside as I didnt feel right disrupting the other people in the waiting area. Omar told me not to go outside as he had an extra room I could use for my meeting. Now thats customer service and an incredibly nice thing to do.I also met Paul who is just as nice and customer focused. What a great business, Ill definitely be back
I guess usually only angry people write reviews. I am so happy with their service that I return every time I need anything. They are nice, intelligent, and I think they are trustworthy. Some of the other reviews are absurd--smelly waiting area? I have never experienced that. Someone brought in their car at 12:30--lunch time? And they had to wait..hmmm...that isnt strange. I usually bring my cars in when Midas opens, so that may be why I have no problems. If the reviewers have better or faster places, I would be surprised--all places make you wait. Any shop that is good has a lot of customers. Places that have fewer customers have...few customers for a reason. One lady reviewer had a ten year old vehicle she just bought (so she never reviewed every part of an older car) and Midas found issues. I have a ten year old vehicle and you might not be surprised--always problems as it ages. Look, I have many choices for car repairs on Route 18 and I go to Midas in 18. They do good work for me.
I believe anyone writing this place a good review was payed. Ive heard of multiple local folks having terrible experiences here. I worked here for a week a while back with the same management. This place is absolutely unacceptable. Recently, my wife brought in her Mazda with bad wheel bearings. She was charged 1,300$ to replace two wheel bearings which are pressed into the hub with a shop press. They had gotten so bad that the hub itself also needed replacement and for 1,300$ which is roughly 900$ more than the actual cost of the job, you would think it wouldnt be a lot to ask to have the job done properly. Of course they didnt and low and behold; the bearings still make noise after 30mph.
Well I decided to give 5 star to MIDAS because I had a very good experience with them. Paul is an amazing person who took ownership of my car and some parts needed to be changed and he did for me with alignment balancing etc until Im fully satisfied with their work. I strongly recommend if anyone visit MIDAS and want to get best services then have your car reviewed by Paul such an experienced person.
Went there to do a minor exhaust job - quoted me $80 for 5 min job on the lift - I was in hurry, so asked them to do it for $40 (which they did - and I have no complaints with the work they did). A little bit of shopping around would give you a better deal elsewhere. In short, never go by the estimate they give you (especially small jobs), you can get it done for way less than half their quite, from elsewhere.
A rip off. Dont go there!!! They makeup extra problems for your car. Cant believe it. Theyre crooks, theyre are not real or certified auto mechanic in midas.
Got a quick oil change, brought my own oil so it was only 20 bucks. They finished in 15 minutes. CVS nextdoor if you wanna grab something while you wait.
I have been servicing my cars with Midas east Brunswick for more than 5 years . Paul is trustworthy and gives you a fair opinion . It may seem expensive but when you compare it is very reasonable for the quality of service . Paul has always been very straight forward and transparent . I certainly intend to continue with them when the need arises
After I installed a leveling kit to my truck, I visited several shops on Route 18, nobody wanted to do the alignment, in this shop they did them without questions. good service !!
Had a great experience at the Midas in east Brunswick. The staff were really friendly and got the job done within a reasonable amount of time. Definitely would recommend this place to friends and family 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Midas is my go to! They provide optimal service for reasonable prices. Also, their front desk manager Omar cares about his customers, shows and explains to you what is wrong with your car. I recommend midas to family & friends (:
Great experience here, we had an emergency on our way to a football tourney. Needed 2 tires replaced and roadside assistance tried to charge close to $300 a tire, by chance we seen a midas after we put our donut on and these guys hooked it up. For the price of roadsides 1 tire were getting 2 with installation.
I have been a regular customer of Midas East Brunswick for over 5 years. Paul the owner is expert mechanic he knows his stuff.I have two cars and he keeps them in top share. One of the car is used heavily with over 120 miles per day of driving and it needs to be in top shape as I see it five days a week and Paul knows that. I just drop the car and he does everything, no waiting no hassles .He has saved me thousands of dollars on repair over the years, dealers have given me quotes for 800 dollars and Paul got same job for 200 dollar. Once dealer told me your engine mount needs replacement and quoted 1200 for it, I went to Paul, he checked and fixed it for 160 dollars.A good place if you want to build long term relationship with a trusted auto shop especially if you have premium cars and drive extensively.
Today I decided to give this place another shot. I called if they were busy to do an oil change. They said come in, it can be done in about 35 min. I arrived at 12:30pm. Then waited and waited until 1:50pm. My car was never touched, canceled the request for service and left.
My Acuras battery was getting drained after sitting ideal for a day or so. I recently had my car checked by some other dealer in the area and got battery replaced with the guarantee that I will not encounter this issue again. Within a week or so I started experiencing the same issue again. When I took my car back to the same dealer I was told that my car got some other problem and i have to pay again for 2 hours of diagnostic charges. I felt cheated and decided to get a second opinion. It was then I took my car to the Midas of East Brunswick. Their technician worked on my car for half an hour and identified the root cause. It was simply because of truck light switch which was left turned on by mistake. I paid for half an hour diagnostic charge and walked out with never experiencing this issue again.I liked the fact that i was not over sold and was charged reasonably.
Didnt get good service. Went for oil change but mechanic forgot to put oil cap leading to oil spill around engine and transmission. As requested by Midas to come again for cleaning of oil spill, but didnt see any difference. Still could feel the oil around the transmission. Not going back again to Midas.
My mom took her car here to get a standard brake job fix. Bad idea!! I kept telling her I kept hearing a squeaking noise after she got it fixed here about a year to a year and a half ago, but she thought it was part of the wear and tear of the car especially cause she couldnt hear it. After I kept telling her something didnt sound right with her tires/brakes, she took it to Midas to get it looked at. They charged her yet again and did absolutely nothing just for checking out a shoddy job that they previously did. So now it had been serviced 2x In a disreputable manner. Now my mom does not have a heavy lead foot where she speeds up quickly from stop, and brakes abruptly to stop; she drives conservatively and slowly. Lets just say she still has tread on her OEM tires at 80,000+ miles. I drove her car one day and the next day we noticed her hand brake was loose. We took it to the official car dealership and they told us that she needed new brakes. How did my mom pay for new brakes last year at Midas, drive less than 12,000 miles on supposedly new brakes, and was out $1000+, and still have to get another brake job??? They ordered cheap components, not OEM for my moms car and did not install properly. Now my mom is out yet another $1000+ to fix the problem that Midas didnt even fix properly. Please dont waste your time and money bringing your car to get serviced here; I feel like your local car dealership would be more suitable in diagnosing and properly fixing and tuning up your car. they would also be more so reliable...otherwise you might be paying more than double for the same exact job that wasnt done properly the first time around.
I rated it as okay ONLY if the following apply: 1) all you need is an oil change and 2) youre able to leave your car at Midas and pick it up later. If you need anything else besides an oil change (or if you arent able to leave your car there for the afternoon), DONT go here. The last time I took my car in for an oil change, they told me I needed new brake pads. What they didnt know was that I had just had my pads inspected and knew that I had at least 20,000 more miles to go before they wore out. This trip, they told me that I needed to change my transmission fluid. Again, they didnt know that Id had my ATF checked a month before and knew that I still had 20,000 miles to go before I needed to change it.They will try to sell you services even though your car will be fine for many months to come. Dont listen to them. Just get your oil changed and go home (and use one of their coupons to get the $19.99 price). If you need any maintenance done, go to Tire Barn in North Brunswick. Ive trusted those guys with my car for years and have never been disappointed.
Wanted 80 dollars for a oxygen sensor bung welded on a 18 inch exhaust pipe that was not installed on a car. the manager told me its a difficult job and would take a long time. took it down the road to another shop was only charged 25 dollars.
Midas of East Brunswick.....all the guys are friggin AWSOME.My story: 2016 Dodge Challenger R/T. Purchased a new exhaust...the install was about 35 mins or so.My car gets off the lift they start her up and I hated the sound...too quiet..Corsa Sport. I went back to Corsa to purchase a resonator delete kit. Over $400.00. I called the guys and they said bring it in.Paul and Greg B. Gave me what I wanted..SPORT TO EXTREME.You need work done ask for Greg B. The kid knows his stuff. GREAT WITH BIKES TOO.Paul- the Owner is a American Muscle lover and that says it all. His prices are fair and if you talk to him he’s willing to help you out with your wants and needs for your car other than mechanical. OVERALL a great experience. P.S. let’s not forget Omar..Great guy..loved talking to him...
Tires not kept in house but they are quick to get them and install. Took about 45 min.
Its better ask everyrhing is advance no surprise
Awesome, very pleased with this place, i got 2006 Honda CR-V . I always took my car to open road Honda, check engine light came on and i took it to the dealer got estimate for catalytic converter and oxygen sensors for $ 2466.50 . My car was running fine I decided to have second opinion then I took my car to Vespa Goodyear they charge me one hour diagnostic and fifteen minutes later gave me estimate for $2600 more than dealer wanted I was really disappointed that I should have fixed at dealer first place, I saw Midas of east Brunswick on other side of highway, I decided to pull in and went to front desk, I met guy name Paul he made me feel very comfortable offer me water and pulled my car in the bay himself they were really busy he check the code and lift my and identified I had gasket leaking in catalytic converter . He suggest me to replace gasket and hardware for $120.00 and reset computer and assure me if light come back on will replace cattalytic converter and sensor for $750.00 now its been three months light never came back on, from my experience i will never go any other place
Friendly staffs and they did real quick for me.
Be careful of the services here. They like to rip you off. Got a better price here after getting quotes on the phone.
Took my Toyota RAV4 for Oil Change. Was offered the special and also provided a list of additional services required with a free checkup. The pricing was itemized and there was no pressure on which services I should opt for. Work was completed in 3 hours and a follow-up call was received there were no no concerns.
Excellent customer service and very professional
I went in for a wheel alignment brakes and even talked into getting new rotors no problem by the end of the day my car is towed back to Midas by one of the mechanics and that I wasnt able to drive the car because Adel was defecticlve .. I havent had a problem with my axle.. I had to call out of work bc of this from my night job and my morning job next morning. They very next day I went to the Midas I was there from 1pm till 530 waiting for them to do a wheel alignment that took them hours to do.I paid my 1154.00$ and After receiving my car and driving home once I reached 65mph my right side of my car would shake violently and it has never done that.. My car is not safe to drive and I feel like my car was messed. Will never be coming back worst first experience here..
Just got my truck serviced cause it was overheating and not even 2 days after getting it back its overheating again!! Now im stuck out in the freezing cold and of course the shop is closed for 2 days
Too expensive. Also my service light was still on when I picked up my car and they supposedly changed my oil.
They service both of my vehicles and they do a great job
Not too happy with their service. They asked me to pay $59 for synthetic oil change which my car can use 5w20 conventinal oil. I brought my car to a dealer next to my work and got it done with $25.
Quick and professional job. Very reasonable charges.
Not coming back to this place one of the guys tried to give attitude why didnt want to replace brakes with them start asking why I wouldnt do it with them and I find this place to be too expensive
Theyre great!!
Friendly workers and convenient location right off the highway. Jury is still out on prices though.
They treat everyone with respect...nice hours,,, not like most garages around the area they know what they are doing...
Great staff and excellent service its what keeps me coming back ! Also they can fix any problem from a light bulb to a transmission most people dont know that !
Good service and personable manager, but expensive.
Great Service
Let me tell you about Paul the owner. Lying cheating cut throat.First to start off, every time you bring your car in there, be careful because they tamper with things to make other things on your car not work. They just want to make more money off of you.Im going to give you several examples of how I caught them in lies, because Ive had multiple Vehicles fixed at this place. My downfall was that I owned a business, so I need my motor vehicles fixed right away.Thats one thing I will say they have fast service, theyll get you in quick. Its probably because there greedy and money hungry... lol Im not kidding..I had my whole entire steering column, rods and box replaced on one of my trucks. When I brought the truck back in for them to do an oil change. I received the truck back and there was a lot of play in the steering.I told them that it was tight when the truck arrived. They said we will take a look at it, after looking at it they they told me you will probably need a new Rods..I said I had my whole entire steering system fixed from you guys only six months ago,so I still have a warranty.I swear when I said that to paul he had a guy go and take a wrench to tighten the rods up and gave me the truck back in 5 minutes. They brought the truck right out and the steering was tight..that is just one example how much of a rip-off they are.I had another truck, I had to ask them to have the parts back after they fix the truck because sometimes things werent fixed.I brought in another van and they told me that all the rotors and the brake pads need to be changed. Then he told me my calipers were bad. I told him the truck is not worth fixing. Im just going to junk it. The customer service guy at the front desk tells me the truck is all apart . I say well put everything back together and put it on the side of the building. Im coming to pick it up. He called me back 5 minutes later and says will take $300 off the bill for you will fix everything at cost. You just have to buy the parts...I knew right then and there that I was being ripped off and bamboozled. I own another car I brought it in there 3 times, they told me they fixed the Hub.I brought it to Cadillac and had them do a evaluation on it.Cadillac wanted me to take them to court . after I got the paperwork from Cadillac. I went back to my midis and they fixed the problem with the hub immediately.I can go on and on and on how I think Paul is telling these guys that are working in the back to make up things so they get more money from you.every time I bring my cars to this place I receive it back with another problem. I should write five more reviews because I have plenty more and Paul just keeps telling you b******* stories. But I cought them in multiple lies and I needed my vehicles fixed right away for my business. Finally today I found someone thats honest and trust worthy.
Burn your money instead of giving it to these people. They lie and cheat ! !!! not recommended at all. I wish I could give them a minus star
Fixed my tire. Expensive but worth it
The staff is professional and helpful, if there are any work that has to be done they will make sure to show you the problem and explain the situation. Timing is good.
The first time i went there i didnt have the best experience but after i tryed them a sec time they did go above and beyond expectations. Glad i tryed them again
Never go this place. the owner of this place is not trustworthy. The judgement of the servicemen is not accurate.
Great service and perfect timing
Faster service
Horrible, Waiting area smells bad. I had a tire that was bad.. tried to sell me a non-matching tire and sensor both overpriced.Dont go
Took 3 hours for them to change a tire.
They took 3 hours to change a tire.
Ok for oil change...
They are alright
Nice
Ok
$45 to plug a tire? Not only that but they wanted cash.
