Excellent selection of sandwiches, meals, and sides. You can easily make a lunch or dinner out of just the side selections. The food is fresh and quickly served. There are lots of indoor and outdoor seating options as well. The service was friendly and responsive. I couldnt ask for more!

Came in for an early lunch around 11:00am. Ordered a tuna melt and the young lady asked if the house chips would be okay for the side so I said sure.The tuna salad was flavorless the bread was stale and oddly they don’t put cheese on a tuna melt. It’s kind of implicit in the name; isn’t it?The house chips were cold soggy and clearly made yesterday.After I finished the first half, I reluctantly picked up the second half of my sandwich and there on the wax paper liner was an inch long, black, curly, —“Oh God please let that be an eyebrow”—, HAIR.

Ive been going here for years. They have the best kale, beet, and goat cheese salad on the planet, and their quiche is superb. Plus the staff are helpful and friendly.

I was kind of concerned about the arrangement of responsibility. I worked in just to look and see what I wanted to eat, another gentleman came, one of the ladies was cleaning and not really paying attention,by the time she turned around she was backed up with people about six. The cashier seemed confused where the items were on the screen. Also the manager seemed preoccupied with a late order, but the second lady was helping her boss. At this time all six were ordering 15 minutes has gone by no one has received their items. I was still deciding to see my choice, that I could take home. Know 20 minutes has passed by people still in line remember just six customers all of us still standing waiting to be served. I decided to just buy a drink and than later make my choice, but after 25 minutes I decided not to. About this time some help came, I thought finally,no it was for the order that the manager was still behind. If I was the manager I would have said, help the cashier with the small orders and get them check out and then finish the late order. He would have had more time and all the help he would have had available for him to get the late order out. But he focused on the late order and all the six customers were still waiting. Also I would have gotten people in place, one at the latte machine, one at the food area or I would have switched people around from the more experienced to the least.In this was all the orders would be done all would have been focused on finishing orders and the customers would have been gone. Paying attention to detail is very important.

Without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Durham. Best Mediterranean food in the triangle. I love the vegan bowl. Pretty affordable too!

Saladelia is awesome! Everything is delicious and fresh and there are so many selections. My daughter and I have enjoyed Saladelia for many years.

I was looking for a place to sit and enjoy my lunch break. I love Greek food. This is very very good, though it is a little different than your typical Greek meals as in it has variations I’m not used to. There is no dine in option. It’s outdoor seating or eat in your car. Check your bag for plastic ware and napkins. I chicken souvlaki was pretty good. The chicken itself was very good! I will be back one day to try their desserts because they did look amazing.

I am a long time Saladelia fan. Dinner there Sunday night left me disappointed. I realize they close at 7 now, but by 6:40, all the food was being removed from the cases. I asked about wine, and the cashier just said...what ever is in the cooler (bottles), I was wanting a glass...but she really didnt seem interested in answering my question. We were staying to eat in the dining room, our food arrived in to go containers (since is was close to closing. I didnt get my spanakopita (even though there was still some left when I ordered). Clearly the staff just wanted to go home.

I love Greek/Lebanese food and Saladelia did not disappoint. Reasonably priced and great for lunch. The hummus was perfect. Definitely will be back to try more dishes.

Absolutely the perfect place for a lunch. In an unexpected location just off of 15/501 it is still convenient to shopping but somehow feels secluded. The patio is a really nice touch and is always clean and cozy.I almost always get the Turkey pesto wrap but the chicken souvlaki is also great and the selection of small items is amazing. Its a Durham staple for me!

Has become the daytime eatery of choice, when dining out with extended family. Cafeteria- style menu options, varied with a Mediterranean vibe (although carnivores may feel a bit slighted).

They always provide great service and great food! I usually order takeout dinner but dining in at any time has always been a pleasure.

Cleanliness 3/5. Tables had some crumbs and greasy hands streaks from former customers. Our table had dried, sticky soda spots on it. Floors covered in small leaves and dirt at entrance as if theyd had the doors propped open one day.+Quality 5/5. Coffee, breakfast, salads and pre-prepared foods were wonderful on the pallette, fresh and taste tested daily by the owner which shows devotion to quality. Just seeing the owner actually tasting the food he was outting out, or that might have been prepared a day or two before, put me at ease.+Service 4/5. The young women handling our orders were having problems getting everything we ordered downpat. Having to repeat blueberry danish and point to the only one there, 4 or 5 times had me actually wondering if she was teasing me. Nope. She wasnt. She literally kept forgetting.+Price 3/5. I had one sandwich which you can see in the pictures below. Beautifully set up. The pickled onions on top were remarkable. The salmon was still semi-fresh (though it had started to turn very fishy in taste on some areas) but the price shocked me. I added an over easy egg and 2 strips of bacon to the sandwich and it now cost me more than $12. Thats with no sides or drink included. So after coffee and a danish on the side my one meal was at $18. That was easily at least $13 - $14 net profit for them based on the ingredients, not including the tip I tossed in despite serving my own coffee and getting called to the counter to pick up my food rather than having it brought to me. Then, I had to clean up the table after myself. So what was I tipping for? I dont know either. I would like to come back but the price of just one sandwich with no sides or drink included kinda hit the wallet hard. I may return for coffee and a danish but even then were talking at least $7 - $8. I may just stick to DunkinDonuts!

We love Saladelia and have been going for years. We even take friends from out of town for fresh and healthy food. However, since COVID-19 the customer service has been horrible. Today we went for lunch and there were a number of issues.1. The online ordering system did not have an option to order a side of potato chips and when we asked an employee about it she seemed in different - FYI I added it to the special instructions section of another item.2. Condiments such as salt and pepper and mayonnaise were not options when ordering and were not available outside. When the other member of my party went in to get them she was told she could not be inside. There was no sign saying you could not come in (in fact other people were going in to pick up to go orders) and no employees walked through outside to see if customers needed anything.3. The food tasted as good as usual, but looked like it was thrown in the containers for outdoor dining.4. The outdoor dining feels like just a place to eat a to go order and is not truly outdoor dining.With the pandemic, it is definitely harder for businesses, but these are all issues that can easily be addressed.

Im giving this cafe an extra star cause they saved the day!! My mom randomly said she wanted baklava for Mothers Day lol. Really? What? How freaking random, Ma!!!! So usually our local grocery stores have it.. NOT one single one had any! Any other day they would but of course since I needed it, my luck! Then my boyfriend reminded me they make it, FRESH and two different kinds! Mama got pistachio And I picked up a piece of their you MUST try it tiramisu, for real, its life! Free parking and wheelchair accessible, great for kids. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options

Great Mediterranean-style food FAST. Plenty of vegetarian options and they mark which options are vegan. They have plenty of smoothies, shakes, and espresso drinks. Some of the food is amazing, some of it is underwhelming but good. There is nothing that is less than good. Always a safe choice. There are two rooms for seating, so it is good for groups or chill for a few hours. Bathrooms are single stall, accessible, and one is marked with both dress and pants symbols.

A Durham institution from when I lived there in the early 90s & still going strong! Wonderful selection of (primarily, but not solely) Eastern Mediterranean food, along w/pastries & good coffee. Have you had the hummus? For Gods sake, eat the hummus! Have you had the Quiche Lorraine? For Gods sake, eat the Quiche Lorraine! Have you had..?Ive taken numerous people there whove never visited Durham or eaten there before & theyve all had great experiences there. Dining outside Nov 2020 was OK--its the best were going to do right now--& its more complicated in terms of ordering or fixing issues due to COVID, but Im happy to see theyre surviving. One of my all-time favorite places to eat!

I could eat here everyday. I love the options they have at their location. Their chicken kabobs are amazing. They are perfectly grilled and have so much flavor.

Great food, great service, you can dine outside or get it brought out to your car. I recommend getting dessert with every order.

Thank you to the employee who realized I didn’t know cash isn’t accepted (temporarily due to COVID) but found a way to help me. The customer service is always up to par and they really try to provide good service to everyone (IMO) despite the place usually being busy. Love the mezza bite options, the platters, the desserts and the food overall. Good job Saladelia Cafe!

Kale salad tasted old, like it sat out for a while. Mac n cheese was dried out. Chicken shawarma wasnt very authentic. Ive had better food from here before, but the quality on 11/2/20 left a lot to be desired. Times are tough these days, so spending money eating out should definitely be worth it.

Came here for Sunday Brunch with the family for the first time. Counter service was pleasant and prices are reasonable. Nice atmosphere and a great space for large groups. Sadly, the food was average and drinks below average. I prefer Hope Valley Diner (1 mile away) and Foster’s Market (2 miles away) to Saladelia. Glad we tried them out but we will not be returning due to better establishments in the area.

I was recommended this place because of its vegan bowl it was the first time ever visiting. I did love the atmosphere, but the workers weren’t friendly and the tables were dirty. I ordered the vegan bowl and when the waiter brought me my food he said “loaded hummus bowl” and I said oh no I ordered the vegan bowl and he said “oh yeah that’s what I meant.” I took his word because I don’t know what this dishes look like. I began eating a little when I realized I felt sick and the tofu in my bowl wasn’t tofu IT WAS LAMB. I approached the counter and asked what I ordered. They charged me for a loaded hummus bowl even though I said vegan bowl. The man didn’t apologize but asked me if I wanted the vegan bowl, I said no thank you, I paid and left. Please don’t go here the service was terrible. I’ve been vegan for years and a server for years. I was really upset about eating even a little bit of lamb. I was sick for two days. I was really let down :( they didn’t offer a refund or a free vegan bowl that didn’t say sorry. I just felt gross. The staff was terrible.

Cute place with great food, especially the many Mediterranean influenced dishes. Solid covid protocols in place, including online ordering and service directly to some chic outdoor seating to the left side of the building.

Used them many times for catering, without a problem. Today, they have completely screwed my over. Supposed to bring lunch for 25 in one hour, but they never checked their catering orders. So disappointed in their service.

I wasn’t sure whether how to rate this unique place, but I’m rating it as if it’s a fast-food restaurant because you stand in line to order from a sign, and then bus your own table. The food, however, is more worthy of a sit-down restaurant! Colorful art fills the walls, and while visually amusing, is hardly worth the $600+ price tags. Bottom line: if you want a good but casual meal at a reasonable price and you’re short on time, try this place. But if you want to linger with friends over a meal, you should make another choice.

Have eaten both lunch and dinner at Saladelia. Their side dishes (displayed in the deli cases when you come in the door) are very good and fresh. Lots of vegetarian and gluten free options. Good place if you are looking for something light. Their main entrees (lasagna, mac&cheese, spanakopita) are good but Id rate them as average. Cafe had a relaxed, homey feel to it. Have 2 eating areas - one has a large table that could accommodate (est.) 12 people. Wait staff friendly and fast.

Quite a refreshing and tasty establishment. Service was fairly fast, though the line can get long suddenly. Plenty of seating and light and open inside. Highly recommend trying!

This is definitely my favorite spot, I am here almost every day on my lunch break! The ingredients are really fresh and I think a lot are locally sourced. Very reasonably priced. The staff is always super friendly. Foods always ready within 15 minutes. Large selection of menu items. Ive tried most of the things on the menu and they are all delicious!!! My favorites are the greek gyro, chicken souvlaki, chicken melt, and roast beef sammy. You pretty much cant go wrong with anything you order on the menu, though. All the sammies come with housemade kettle chips. Sooo good. Oh and pro tip, if you order online you get a free cookie (sometimes they forget when you pick up your order so just give them a little reminder). Only suggestion would be to have a few more vegan/vegetarian options. Still, I highly recommend this cafe!! :)

Love this place! Delicious, fresh food with lots of options and at a good price. It’s an order at the counter and get a number kind of situation. Gets pretty packed at lunch, but not unreasonable if you have 35-45 minutes to eat.

My go-to lunch-near-work. Selection is awesome, with all salads in their case always looking fresh and yummy. Their quiches and lasagnas are awesome, salmon is always perfectly cooked. Sandwiches are big enough to share and come with fresh made potato chips. Especially shareable if you grab a side from the great selection mentioned above. Summer kale salad is sweet without being overdressed or overly so. Both bean salads (black and garbanzo) are tasty and not too salty. The hummus is perfect, and the pita is always fresh. AND you get a free cookie if you order online and pickup! Brilliant!

This is a regular spot for me because the food is fresh and good. The food is in the case, the menu is on the wall, you can order hot or cold sandwiches, or pick out some Mediterranean favorites. The baked goods are from the Mad Hatter and the cake selections change throughout the week. There are also cookies, brownies, baklava, plus muffins, scones and a selection of pastries. If you want a coffee or espresso, they have a good selection of options. If smoothies or fresh juices is more your taste--they have some tasty ones. They also have some wines and beer, and people come in, meet friends, grab a table to work, and on some nights, enjoy some live music. Check them out.

So many delicious options to choose from here. Everything is fresh and reasonably priced. I think they make their own chips here and they are especially delicious. Also love their cream cheese brownies as an occasional treat.

One of my favorite places to bring guests visiting the area! Consistently amazing food. Always fresh and tons of options for everyone, including vegetarians which I personally appreciate. The inside boasts plenty of seats, even on the weekends when it is really busy. Its a good place to eat a meal, sit and enjoy a coffee, or even work on a project or study if you are okay with a high noise level.

I love Saladelia. They always have gluten-free bread when I go and their sandwiches and sides are so good! The only minor downsides to me are that sometimes the furniture is wobbly, and the tables need to be cleaned more often.

This reliable spot deserves an extra 1/2 star. Your party can be a few parts vegan, a few parts vegetarian, and a few parts total meat eater and everyone is happy! Gluten free? No problem. Just want some coffee? Look no further. Need a little dessert? Saladelias totally got you. This place never disappoints! And they even have Italian sodas for those who arent feeling like a fountain drink. Theres a very friendly and helpfulvibe from the lovely folks who work there as well!

Staff does not hear or speak enough English to order. No wine by the glass. Dont come until they fully open.

The food is good but the service was seriously lacking this morning. The woman pretending to be a baristra stood around gabbing with her coworkers and couldnt bother to make my latte. I finished my breakfast before she finally decided she should stop talking and do her job. And apparently it wasnt just me as another customer called her out for rolling her eyes at him when he asked a reasonable question.The BLT I had was really tasty and I know it is hard to get good employees so I am giving them a pass.

I absolutely love going to Saladelia-- its my favorite place to go for lunch on Dukes campus! They have so many fresh and healthy items and its completely affordable for students. I love the beet and goat cheese salad and the new vegan spice bread. Theyve got an amazing array of choices-- definitely check it out!

Im a picky eater so I was a bit reluctant to go in as the name had me guessing at what type of food it was. My wife who is not so picky told me to go in and check it out. So glad I listened! I had a chicken melt sandwich to die for! Looked and tasted great! Great atmosphere and service as well. We had a wrap and sandwich for 16 bucks. Were NJ transplants so thats a good deal for us. Highly recommend this place!

I’ve always loved their spanakopita and traveled from chapel hill to buy several for parties or weekends But lately they are very small and dry. They used to be super soft with delicious, oily flaky phylo pastry crust. Now it is hard and dry. Not worth the price or the drive, sadly😩

I loved Saladelia...until today. I ordered the beet salad for lunch - it was extremely dry and severely lacking creativity. The salad was mostly arugula...a few beets, lots of cheese, and petrified apricots that look weeks old. The balsamic vinaigrette was so thick that you had to scoop it out of the container with a spoon vs. pouring. This order was a major disappointment.

Saladelia consistently has fresh, good food - theyre a great lunch option, an alternative to the fried/fast food route. I like the tie-in to local artists (they have rotating art displays) and local music, and theyre locally owned (yep, I like supporting local small businesses). I havent tried them for catering, but I would consider it based on what Ive seen so far.

Had the lentil and pilaf and the couscous. Not bad but nothing extraordinary. The couscous would have been better if it did not have so much going on with pieces of fruit. Also the least impressive stuffed grape leaves Ive had. The price made it acceptable.

Good selection of healthy eats. Can get a bit crowded at peak times. Also a good place to get coffee and snacks as there is much more space than the chain coffee shops.

I used Saladelia for catering a luncheon for approx 50 people today. We had a last minute increase in registrations, and Saladelia was able to meet the request and still deliver on time. Staff were friendly, professional, and the food was excellent as always. 10/10 would use again for catering.

This was my first time here and I ordered an iced coffee. The coffee was delicous but when it was first made, the gentleman who made it, served me a hot beverage. When I let him know it was supposed to be an iced beverage, he seemed to have an attitude about having to remake it. He was muttering under his breath and seemed to have an unhappy attitude in general. The coffee is great but Im really disappointed in the customer service here.

This review is for Saladelias catering services. We had Saladelia cater our sons wedding on May 30. The food was delicious and we heard many compliments. The servers from Saladelia were very professional and pleasant. We have given them 5 stars because of how happy we were. The process of deciding what to order/how much food/cost/and various other questions -- was a bit grueling and there was a changeover on who was helping us plan for the wedding during that time -- but it all worked out and they were customer service oriented, listened and heard what we wanted and we were very happy. We would recommend them.

Best Reuben in Raleigh as far as I can tell. Wouldve liked a little more flavor in the bread, but outside of that it was great.
