Attempted curbside pickup; do not recommend. Waited 30 minutes, used the online web version to check in, called four times spoke to someone saying they were coming out with my purchases, was unable to leave my car without getting a ticket from the ticket police. Finally gave up, moved my car and headed inside.Update when I walked inside there was someone walking around doing nothing and no customers around. I was even calling the desk as she was standing next to it and had no recollection of that I called four times.Again I wanted to attempt curbside since I was in a rush and had things in my car but do not reccomend it.
Their fitting rooms are all closed because they’re “short staffed.” Merchandise scattered all across the floor. Items in the wrong place. It literally looks like a tornado blew threw this store. I’m sure they’re trying their best, but this store is horrible.I had over $200 worth of clothes I wanted to try on before buying but since the fitting rooms were closed I ended up putting everything back and just buying 1 pair of dress pants. Since I didn’t get to try them on before purchasing them, I had to try the pants on in the bathroom to make sure they fit before walking out the store.
As a huge supporter, this feels like a brand that is slowly dying. Soon it may be the next Sear or Montgomery Ward (shhhhh telling my age)...Booked appt for portrait studio and like many businesses, it was short staffed. The photographer had back to back appointments with no help. She kept a positive attitude and never complained. Her voice remained gentle. However she had no time to work on the photos. I did it with good ole SAMSUNG after getting home and the digital prints.Look for the Groupon. You wont feel robbed. But I appreciate our service industry. She did allow me to capture some precious family moments At a cost Worthwhile.we only live once so I intend to keep smiling, laughing and ENJOYING 😉
The staff is super helpful! A different store had accidentally left a security tag on one of my dresses. I was able to bring it back to this location with my receipt so they could remove it without any hassle!
Traditional brick stores are all getting empty. But its always good to be able to touch and feel before impulse buying on Saturdays. No dirty carton boxes to clear.
I like the store and it was well organized.. They have a hiring blitz right now,, and I can see that this store needs more staff. I was impressed with the prices and the quality of the merchandise. There is plenty to choose from. The jewelry store was pretty small but overall a great experience.
As a devout JC Penney fan, I have to say this was a huge disappointment. For a company struggling against bankruptcy, youd think theyd make even a minimal effort to provide a pleasant shopping experience. Instead, there was only 1 register open on each level. If I hadnt needed what I was purchasing for a friend who was hospitalized, I would have walked out no matter how much I wanted whatever I was buying. This is after I tried to shop for bras there about a month ago only to discover I couldnt try them on. If I cant try them on, why wouldnt I take my chances buying something online? I really hope they improve conditions soon, or I doubt this location will be open for long.
They were short handed on employees so it was hard to find help in some department but the employees that were on hand were excellent especially the young lady working in the makeup department I believe she was from Chad she attended to my daughter and wife needs in directed us to discounted but premium products my wallet appreciate that

So happy this JCPenney is still here. They have the best clothes that fit me and are quality. With remote work I had to pry myself from the Worthington selection, the new clothes were so cute.FYI: Always get a coupon from their website when shopping there for extra savings.

Nothings as it use to be usual retail mark up prices then put them on sale still at a higher price then it’s worth here and there you’ll find a good deal but you have to wait on it the jewelry is marked up four times it worth I brought a gold chain there for $700 and it’s only worth $190 I been had most of the time Levi’s are on sale I found they have more of a selection then the outlet and once in awhile they’ll have a decent shoe/sneaker the home goods are marked up honestly you get the best out of shopping here if your credit is decent get a credit card and use the coupons to go along with the discount you get for having the card
Went to this store to exchange my ring for a smaller size.Young lady by the name. Of Tomeka came to the jewelry department to help her coworker who was drowning trying to help 3 customers at one time.,and let me say that she is a diamond in the raft.She went way and behond to make sure that I was taken care of.
I went to buy a contour ring. The mothers day promotion sale price was $249.00. However when sales associate rung up price it came to $571.00. I asked why I didnt get sales price she responded that that ring was not part of mothers day promotion. I asked why is it in with rings with sales sign in front. So associate called manager who said the ring was not part of promotion. So I asked manager why was ring in with sales items she said they had no where else to put it. Customer service was not good at all. Very little floor assistance and associates are so quick to provide a response without listening to the ask.
Only one register to pickup online orders. Very frustrating long lines, people picking up, make purchases and returns. If you are going to only have 1 register for pickups then returns and purchase should be at a different register or at least have more than 1 person working.
I just needed to return something and had to search to find someone who was actually working. The store looks awful! Merchandise is scattered around. I think theyve given up.

I went there to pick up my online purchase and to return some merchandise I bought online. The manager of the online shopping department had a bad attitude. I felt like he was annoyed at me from the beginning:How dare you come here and give me work to do. He was asking me questions on how to do his job. I finally got fed up and replied: I do not work here. You do.

Triple check your purchase if use the same day pickup at Durhams location. I was given the wrong item in the right box. It was gift and when attempting to exchange the gift at another Jcpenney with the receipt, I was informed that it could only be exchanged at Durhams location.

Literally worst store ever, ordered from jcp.com but it didn’t come before christmas so okay that’s fine, i came here to cancel, they told me i would get a refund and since i paid through paypal, a check to my billing address was gonna be sent but instead i received a gift card that i didn’t ask for. went back to the store and they said that because it was paypal i could only get a gift card, so why not advertise that then tf. very rude and inconvenient.

Very disappointed, the cashier Tomeka was very rude we asked her to scan a coupon and she refused to do it. When we asked her to scan another one she started to yell at us and insult us and said “ you’re not going to come here and tell me what to do “.And 2 friends of Tomeka starting laughing of the situation with both of them and the manager Chad didn’t do anything about it.Chad the manager came to us and he said Tomeka and her coworker Michelle went to him and told him the story and Chad said that was our fault and he didn’t hear our story but Mrs. Melani she saw and heard everything what Tomeka did and Mrs Melani try to help us she is a very good person and JCPenny needs more people like her and Melani need to take the spot of Chad.Thank you Mrs Melani but Chad didn’t let her to help us when she was trying to explain him what she had saw and heard but Chad told her to be quiet, because “he is the superior manager”

I am an avid JCP shopper but I hate the one here at Southpointe Mall. I normally would go to Cary Towne Center but they are closing that one. This JCP dont carry much Plus Size Women Clothing like Cary did. I am better off shopping online and then have it shipped to the store or home depends on how much I spend. I did find a pair of spring ankle length jeans barely. Another customer was also complaining how she couldnt find what she was looking for. I ordered the lil Nike baby 3 pcs set online & was able to pick up in the store same day. JCP please do BETTER for plus size WOMEN..

Great time to order online and get curbside pickup. Curbside pickup is extremely slow. Many sales and coupons both in store and online just keep an eye on your receit. Some of the coupon codes dont work or arent being put in correctly to receive your discounts.
Girl that called herself a manager was rude and not helpful at all. Bought something on line, never got it and the gift card I used was not able to find. Got my money and dont care about it.

The customer service could really use some training on how to assist callers checking on products! Sad to say this was the North Hills and Durham locations. We simply asked could we provide the product Id for a check and they hung up.

Purchased item online for pickup in store. Friday evening there is one person covering pick ups and returns. Stood in line twice and left. Returning when they open tomorrow. The lack of customer service and inability to keep up to online shopping is why JCP is closing stores nationwide. They charge you $3.95 to buy online and ship to store. Will not return.
