Every time I think how amazing they are with their work, service and above and beyond customer service. They find another way to continue to exceed my expectations. Another review wished they could give them 10 stars and I agree. James helped me today during a very difficult time with my car broken down in the ER line at the hospital. He walked me through how to get it running again via FaceTime, phone call and text pictures. When I arrived at his shop with my car a few hours later the part was ordered and on-site. From the initial phone call through driving away this was a great experience. James and Rose have excellent customer service skills, are responsive, the work done was very good and at a reasonable price. I particularly liked being able to discuss issues with James and receiving a call back to discuss what he had found and the way forward. Roses handling of the initial call going through my needs and the call back reminder were top notch. Friends will be maintaining my car from here on out.A bonus is that all business is conducted through the plexiglass protected front desk (see photo) to protect customers and staff.The only down side - a little wait to get an appointment. There is a reason for that and its worth the wait.

The reviews were excellent and the shop was very busy. It was several weeks before I could get an appointment but worth the wait. Towed my vehicle there and repaired in under a few hours.

Sure enough Friends Auto is consistently half as much because not only does James price parts reasonably but he also never lies about what you need repaired/replaced. Friends Auto is the only mechanic I will ever use. James is very friendly and very professional, and has always provided services big and small for us at a lower rate than other mechanics. He also does his best to educate you on what hes doing and provide explanations for different parts and services.Do note that he often requires a two week lead time to get an appointment, but I call that a symptom of being top notch.

Yet again I had a great experience with Friends. Very down to earth and knowledgeable. I will be coming back to them for all future work. James knows what he is doing and is very straightforward and honest. Ive had two lower control arms and two outer tie rod ends replaced by them collectively. No issues at all as to be expected. Very fair pricing. Very happy to bring them more business in the future.The parking lot and building are a bit small, obviously it is financially difficult now days to get into a big location. I believe this why they are by appointment only.Again, not a complaint, just something to be aware of.

I read reviews looking for a local mechanic shop where I can take the car (Honda Civic) I bought for my daughter. The reviews for Friends Auto were amazing. I dropped it off yesterday. I had originally gotten a pre-purchase inspection done and Honda quoted some prices. James team did their inspection today and for 1/4 of the cost, they are repairing everything and replacing all fluids. Also, they found that the Honda people had misdiagnosed a few things and not found some of the issues found at Friends Auto.Honesty drives customers to businesses. I found James on map google. I read reviews and decided to give him chance and I am so glad I did.First, James is very easy to work with and very intelligent. He is reasonable and get the work done. I had one issue and took it back and he happily fixed it. I must say its been long time I found skilled mechanic who takes his time to explain everything in plain English and does not rush or push to make decision. This was last year. Ive now been taking all my cars to him and recommend to my friends.Only complaint I have is planning is a must because it takes time to get on his calendar for appointment. But, again the positive is he spends / provide his time and attention to each customer.

Best mechanic that I have ever used. They did so much for my Jeep. The quality of work is amazing and they hold themselves to a high standard. For example when they couldnt figure out or fix a problem on my Jeep they only billed me for parts. They said that they didnt feel like they corrected the issue so they wouldnt charge me for labor. Hands down the most honest and reputable mechanic there is. I found James through a referral a year ago when toyota and other mechanics told me I needed a new $4K engine replacement with my sequoia. James not only took the time to debunk that fact, but he sent me an article and showed me exactly what the issue was with my car which wasnt an engine replacement but a repair that was 1/4 of the price. Ive gone to him ever since and my sequoia has run great and gone over 50K miles with no other issues. He also is great about being upfront about what repairs your car needs and what repairs can wait (even if theyre factory recommended at that mileage). Super nice guy and Im blessed that I found him.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I have been having problems with my car not starting, but only when my husband drives it. I called James and he walked us through some things to check on the phone. And even joked I could probably fix it by not letting my husband drive! (good idea James) Everything checked out ok but my husband was afraid that it would keep happening and that we would be stranded. James kept my car for two days, ran every test and couldnt find anything wrong. I asked what I owed and he said nothing!! After two days I would want some kind of compensation. I begged to pay him at least an hour of labor or something. He refused. You dont find people like that much in todays times. He won a customer for as long as I can drive a car for sure. Honesty and integrity is hard to come by in the business world. James has that and a great sense of humor too. Thanks to James and his wife for a great experience!

This place is awesome. I had a very tall order: 4wd components to be replaced, hubs, brakes, the whole nine- Not to mention it was on a truck that is fairly difficult to get the specs right (ask me how I know)They knocked the ball out of the park here, and even sent home a bag full of the replaced hoses that were still good, in the event that one of the new ones failed or was severed on a trail. Totally unexpected, as the dealership would have charged me to get rid of the very same parts.Cant recommend them enough.

I bought a Lexus from the Nissan of Gwinnett (terrible dealership) and month and a half later, my car would not start... I was so vexed and speechless because I never imagined a Japanese car with barely 37k miles would go dead. I called Friends Auto and even though they were very busy, James got me in, had the car towed, and quickly news came back that the fuel pump was bad. He gave me the price to fix it but gave me suggestions to check with the dealership and the warranty. Dealership shut me down real quick but the silver lining came with the warranty coverage of powertraining which fuel pump falls under. I had it towed to Lexus and after their super slow diagnostic check to see if money could be made for another reason, it came back to the fuel pump! Now my car is going to be fixed free of charge under the wisdom of James honest work and advice. People like James and his crew are a very few in a billion and I cannot thank him enough for saving me money and stress! Friends is the only place I will take any of my cars and with my life, I recommend to my family and friends! Much love and respect!

James is a God sent one of the most honest mechanics out there he has serviced both my husband truck and sons car....my son was told he had a blown gasket head ...James checked and fixed the issue by finding a bad spark plug...my husbands truck the 1st mechanic told us it was a couple of thousands to fix the truck James fixed the problem for less than 300.00...you do need to make a appointment because he stays busy but well worth your time ...thanks James your Awesome

If you are in the area, this is your mechanic. My truck broke down and I looked up what mechanics had the best reviews around Duluth. Friends Automotive was the highest rated, so I went with them. James kept me updated throughout the entire process, he even suggested I purchase the fuel pump through the parts store myself so I could get the warranty in my name. He even called the store and gave them the information so I could just call and pay them without waiting for them to look up the part. My truck was done the next day. When i got around to picking it up, the lady at the front desk was very friendly and professional in helping me. You wont regret leaving your vehicle here.
