I brought an assortment of old stamps, coins, watches, and assorted silver to their shop. Lionel and his team of specialist reviewed my collection with a thoroughness that exceed my expectations. More importantly through ought the process they were friendly and informative, easing any fears I may have come in with. The coins took the most time as Lionel looked at what I now understand was a very modest collection. I had a rough idea of what my coins were worth but when the process was finished Lionel had found an unexpected valuable coin. Friendly staff fair prices and good selection of Coins and Stamps

I came in looking to sell some coins from my collection. Mostly gold but also some silver. From the moment I spoke to them on the phone they were kind and inviting and the whole process was smooth. The owner of the shop was great to work with, straight to the point, no bs. I will definitely be back to buy some of the great coins he had for sell. Very knowledgeable and great service.

I walked up to the door trying to sell some paper money and was left standing there for 3 minutes, while that may not seem long its horrible customer service. Then while waiting for the man to go over the bills he vaguely mentioned how its horrible todays youth isnt into collecting and I mention my grandfather was the collector in the family and I was left these. He then takes a few more minutes to go over the 6 bills and tells me he can only do about $120 for them all. And I tell him no thank you(something felt off) he then asked what would I like for them, I replied with ill just hold onto them. 1 day later I drive to a south bay shop and one of my bills was purchased for 1600. Im not a coin expert but somethings not to jive about that place.

Ive stepped foot in many coin shops, and Southern California Coin & Stamps is by far the best one. Lionel was really great to talk and work with. His 40 years of experience working with coins helped us answer all of our questions about the coins we brought in. He beat all the other coin shops offer to the ground and has a tremendous amount of beautiful coins in their store. Definitely my first choice when it comes to dealing with coins in the future.

This is the best experience I have ever had at a coin place. I went in looking for an appraisal thinking I would get a few quotes before selling. I took care of everything at this place. There IS a such thing as an honest, experienced, expert coin and stamp buyer. Everyone here made me feel welcome and left me no doubt that I left with exactly what I should have based on the value of my items I sold. The guy Lionel that runs the place, is like a humanoid robot that can scan your coins against a massive database in his head to spot out your rare gems and to price everything out. Gold coins too. They have a great coin counting machine that separates and counts your coins for you but honestly they dont need it because lionel and his staff had already separated and counted our coins while looking through everything. The gentleman that helped us first, I forgot his name, the guy with the grey hair, was great. He really helped me out, walking into this place not knowing much about coins, to feel comfortable with what they were doing.Very professional, dog friendly, easy parking, fast and efficient, clean, inside of the store had a great flow and refreshing air.They gave us a great value on our items, an awesome attitude and a bag of lettuce!Thanks for making my day.

I went in with coins and postal stamps. They bought my stamps but the coins he said just hang on to those it was only $6.00. Very nice people and they knew their customers.

I went in to check out the shop and get some information about items I have and others that Im interested in. I was welcomed by a friendly knowledgeable staff who despite being busy provided me with a wealth of valuable information. I was shown various methods for conducting more research on my own and patiently educated about some related pertinent topics. No hard sell on their items, no lowball offer on my items, no condescending attitude and nothing felt shady or off whatsoever. It was a very satisfying experience and I hope to return there soon.

Incredible experience!! I wish there were more stars to give them. I visited with my daughter. It was so comfortable and such a friendly environment. They had 2 super cool australian shepherd dogs. Sweet animals. The owner and people there were knowledge and honest. I felt like it was a sliver of Andy Griffiths town of Mayberry hidden away in SoCal. Best prices for gold I found in 100 miles. This place was really cool. I went to buy a coin for my dad and I have no knowledge about coins. The people there were so helpful, patient, knowledgeable, honest, and professional. I purchased a set of flying eagle pennies and learned a lot about other coins. They even gave me a free bronze coin as it was my first time there. Amazing place and super happy with my purchase.

Had a pretty solid experience here. Premiums are high but lower than everywhere else at least for the junk silver I purchased. Got two rolls of mercury dimes. First time in and they didnt take me for a ride like most places. Bring cash because they dont take credit. They also buy gold and silver.

I have been coming to SCC&S since June of 2018, when I bought my first gold coin, a tiny maplegram, which still brings me great joy to look at. The owner, and those who work with him, have always been very knowledgeable and respectful. I was also able to purchase the supplies that I needed to complete a 25 year old stamp collection that I had been working on by coming here. The prices at SCC&S are competitive with other establishments, and when I factor in the time and commute saved, the choice is obvious--buying locally at SCC&S is the best buy. Plus, they sell coin supplies, like coin capsules, which I was not able to purchase at larger establishments without having to order online. My experiences with SCC&S for gold & silver bullion, as well as stamp supplies, have always been good ones and I look forward to continuing to do business with them for a long time. As far as LCSs go, SCC&S is a local coin shop that is a cut above. I highly recommend SCC&S to anyone who is looking for an honest coin shop with reasonable prices and a great selection. This Coin shop is a hidden gem within the City of Downey. I have been out of the world of coin collecting for almost a decade and recently came back to the hobby. A friend recommended this shop to me. I check it out a couple of weeks ago and was blown away by the knowledge of the staff, their coin selection, and their enthusiasm to teach people who are new to the hobby. I came in last week and bought some silver coins and I came in today to buy some coin album folders and coin storage tubes. I highly recommend making this store your local coin dealer. Their prices are fair and you will never be ripped off by these folks. When I was in today the owner gave me a frame of Buffalo Nickels for free because he recognized that I would appreciate it. If you are looking to get into coin collecting or investing in precious metals this is your place to go. I am hooked on this place and will be purchasing here from now on for my coin collecting needs.

Very nice shop chances are they will have everything your looking for to grow your collection if your looking for a bargain this aint the shop they sell items just below thier value and some over the value if they can so make sure you know what you want and know the value. If they overpaid they will try to recoup off of you for the item ignoring the value so do your homework and dont be overwhelmed and tooken advantage of

I started out my coin collecting purchasing from this shop but will not be going back. I reluctantly sold a $5.00 dollar Indian gold coin to them last year and was told the grading system for those coins was irrelevant. Also was low balled due to my situation. I called today to see what their price is to sell back to me and was told $800+. I know I was hustled when I sold it but wow this is ridiculous. Better off buying from one of PM websites where I bought it from in the first place. At least theyre not blatant crooks.

Recently purchased a coin from them.They sent without insurance and as luck would have it the USPS mis delivered the item but recorded that it was left at an address that doesnt exist. The USPS actually knocked on doors in the neighborhood and six days later told me it was lost. I had been in contact with the seller the entire time. I believe that since they decided to ship without insurance they should replace the item or refund my money. I received an email from them that it wasnt their issue. I purchased this through EBay and they had the negative feedback removed.You would think that for an item that cost less than $19 they would have just accepted responsibility.Dont believe the 100% feedback on Ebay.

Back in 1991 i was given the task to clean out a place 2 houses on 1 lot due to the passing of two elderly brothers,,,,,,,,, keeping all personal paper work and pictures,,, war items and the like for the family,,, any tools firearms cash money i was allowed to keep,,, i took almost 800$ in coins and paper currency into this shop,,, face value over the 6 months i worked on cleaning out these two houses,,, i was always treated fairly,,,, given a good price for the vintage coins ad currency i sold them,, even found a few old sports cards,, about may of 95 i had been seeing Carl and Lionel every couple weeks when i would find even one 25 cent silver coin,,, i was in transition of jobs short on money for my rent to keep a roof over me an my familys heads went in to see Lionel,,, seeing we had become friends and done business in the past i asked him if it would be a chance to loan me on a couple items i had,,, one given to me by my grandfather another a great uncle took me at 12 yrs old to purchase,,,,,,,,,,, Lionel agreed and loaned me enough to keep me going till i got my first payroll check,,,, life slammed me in the face 7 months later bad divorce,,, violence on her part keeping my kids safe i shrugged off getting my stuff back couldnt take the chance, kids cam first,,, 18 years later my memory gets jogged and i call Lionel up curious as to if he had my stuff still 18 years Mind you and he was still holding it,,, still in great shape untouched and with a deal made now gladly back in my hands,,,, i would recommend So Cal Coin and Stamp for all your collection and resale needs,,, Go see Lionel and Carl you will be treated fairly and with respect,,,,,

They have interesting inventory but the reason I went there is to look for and retrieve and I did retrieve over half a million dollars of and 8 million-dollar parcel of jewelry that was stolen and he bought and sold quite a bit and melted down a lot of my jewelry so this is not a place I could recommend considering they deal in stolen goods
