I recently moved to Downers Grove and have made several trips here to fix and update our new (but older home). Although most of the employees are helpful, Rubi truly goes the extra mile. They should clone her, she is that good. She always has a pleasant smile and is eager to help.She doesnt just point you to the right aisle, she takes you there and helps you select the right product for your task. Shell even look it up on her phone and direct you to a DIY video on YouTube. Shes helped me 3 times now. Shes my Go To from now on.

Ace is a great place for shopping for odd items of hardware and accessories that the usual big box stores do not carry. I needed 7/32 bolts and having tried Menards, Home Depot, I called Ace and was connected to Kyle in the hardware section. He gave me the sizes available and the price and I was able to get a 5mm bolt and its nut.The one less star is for the checkout where despite having 3 small open bags of bolts and nuts and a can of paint, the checkout person did not bag them or offer a bag.

Theyre always helpful inside and it has that wonderful hardware store smell. Its a place you can get in and out if you went or spend an hour looking around at all their good stuff. Conveniently located in the hole at 63rd and main. Im sure the only reason this parking lot doesnt flood out is because of the enginuity of the Ace hardware employees!

When I need home maintenance stuff, I go here. I love the cozy size store, and no matter what the staffs gender or age, all theyre Professional, so most of them explain about the item what I need, more than I need ! Especially I like the system that there are many elders ! I love the family system that 3 + generations live together ! But now, our life is very individualized, so we have very little chance to talk to our Grandparents. But here we can meet Many Grandpas ! Theyre the most professionals for customers by their long enough experiences ! I wish many business keep this system ! 👍

I was looking for a toro electric snow blower and the Ace hardware location in Downers Grove has it. Just to make sure i called the night before 2/18/21 @730pm. I spoke to a guy of course he said they have it. Next morning I drove from Niles, IL to Downers Grove and viola, they dont have it. Great job, whoever the guy i spoke with. Perhaps next time try to check the items the customer is asking about, Im sure its not going to take a century of your time to do it.

This Ace Hardware store 🏬 has been at this location for decades. The store has recently been reorganized. It is well organized and the shelves are stocked. The staff is helpful and give it that personal touch. Of all the Ace stores, this one is a survivor. 🇺🇲

Kin-Ko Ace Hardware gets 5 Stars from me. I was replacing the rear brake cylinders on my 1994 Buick. This Ace Hardware was the ONLY PLACE THAT HAD THE MOUNTING BOLTS!

The staff is helpful. Just like any Ace store, prices are extremely high. I only shop there in an emergency and I need something ASAP.

Kin-Ko Ace Hardware was the only store in a 50 mile radius that had the exact size bolts that I needed. These bots were for a 1994 Buicks brake wheel cylinder. Even the Buick dealerships did not stock these bolts any longer.5 Stars to Kin-Ko Ace Hardware.☆☆☆☆☆

Had a broken lawn mower wheel. Lost the piece in the yard. Ace guy comes out with a couple different pieces found the right one super quick & fixed just like that. Even let me borrow a wrench to fix it on the spot.

The attendant was a pleasure to deal with. She helped me find everything I needed so fast. She was very polite, patient, efficient and very knowledgeable of the products. The store is big enough to accommodate a lot of items, so one can get almost all the hardware items required. I will surely come back back again and refer my friends to them.

I went to this Ace to look for parts to convert fluorescent light to LED light. Cheryl helped me with my request. She was amazing. She took time to understand the challenge I was faced. She spent quite bit time to discuss different options and looked for the parts for the different options. She showed amazing customer service skills.

The employees are very nice and the store is clean and well organized. You can find most of what youre looking for here and much more easily and quickly than at the big box home improvement stores. The reason I gave this place three stars is because they simply dont maintain their inventory. There are spaces, hooks, drawers, and racks WITH item labels showing what should be there, but the products arent in stock. This isnt an occasional thing or specific to one section of the store. EVERY time I go in there for all kinds of different items, I find the right section and a space with the item label and price, but no item. It seems some items are not restocked even when the space is sitting there empty for weeks at a time. I simply dont understand this. I once found an employee, showed him the drawer where the item I wanted should be (it was completely out), and asked him if they might have any in the back. He actually laughed and said they didnt. He made no note of the item and did not say when they might get it back in stock. Contrary to what some reviewers have experienced, this employee did NOT offer to order the item for me. Whos supposed to be doing the inventory at this store? Heads up to the owner: they arent doing their job! I dont want to patronize the big box stores when I can go to my local Ace, but the lack of inventory followup at this store is ridiculous.

Its nice to have a local Ace Hardware that meets most of my (reduced; were in a condo now) household needs. Hardware, home goods, plumbing, electric -- easy to find what you need, attentive help, and good prices.

This place is awesome. Every time I go here I get such great service. The store is always clean and usually has what I need. It has a lot more selection of fasteners than a big box store: screws, nuts, washers, etc. I will always support this store when I can. I hope other local residents do the same.

I gave it 4 stars out of 5 only because it was under reconstruction (but still clean and isles were clear) and not every thing they usually sell was on the shelves. However I was still able to get all the things that I went there to get and the prices are very competitive with the bigger hardware companies also the cashier was very helpful, cheerful, and polite. If they werent under reconstruction I would have given them 5 stars.

If you have a key that needs cutting DON’T bother going here. Apparently their key cutting machine is SUB Standard and cannot handle keys purchased from the interweb. BUT magically, the UNHELPFUL FOLK I talked to said he can cut his own key just fine.No wonder all the smaller stores are going broke and shuttering. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I like going to ACE, its easy in & out type of hardware versus the big box stores. This particular one is clean and have very helpful staff.

This is maybe the second time Ive ever reviewed an establishment without being solicited to do so, because this Ace Hardware way exceeded my expectations. So I allowed the fasteners for my out of state tags to rust horrifically and couldnt get them off with screwdrivers or pliers even with Blaster spray and a few torsional enhancement tricks--quite the headache. At this Ace, I got my plates removed without damage, perfect replacement bolts and got the new plates put on for the cost of the bolts at just over a dollar. The guy who helped me out (Andy? its been a week, but i think thats it) was thorough, courteous and precise. Ill be bringing any future business there and hope you do too.

This ace is by far the best ace around. The manager on duty at the time i visited was tyler and he was so kind and respectful and helped me and my fiance find exactly what we needed, even going as far to call and order stuff they did not have in stock for us. Best ace, best manager. Highly recommend this location

Experienced staff and very willing to help. My purchase was just a dollar and he still gave me proper attention. Needed a metric screw, they didnt have the proper threading so he offered to rethread the fixture for me so one of their metric screws would fit. Amazing service!

Went there to have a copy of a vehicle key made, was told it was a chip key and only the manager can make it. So the associate gets on the headset and requests his assistance. Comes back and tells me that the guy is busy and if I can come back tomorrow he could do it then. As it is snowing out, I am almost the only customer in the store, but this guy is to busy? Does not sound like a helpful hardware guy. Cant take 10 minutes to make a key. As a local business owner I would NEVER tell a customer I am too busy for you. Very dissapointed, Ill find somewhere else to make the $125 key.

Store manager Mat is the best with lots of knowledge and great attitude help the customer with satisfaction I like this store very much !

Never using Ace again. I bought some common plumbing supplies while at a job out of town and could not return them locally. They said Id have to drive 100 miles back to that store for the return and the 1-800 number was not helpful either. This would NEVER happen at Home Depot, Menards or Lowes. This lack of customer service and loss of customers will doom our Ace stores.

Great place to get specific screw nuts and bolts. You can get one or a box.

Whenever you need just 1 or 2 pieces of hardware this is the place to go. Also there is always a friendly, knowledgeable person to help so you can be in and out quickly.

They no longer have specialty items like metric bolts. Most of their items are overpriced compared to homedepot and menards. Staff is very friendly, but they are understaffed, if you need assistance expect to wait a wile until they can assist you.

The manager was rude. They didnt have the product they had advertised on their website so they tried to charge us twice the price for 2 bags instead of the one they were supposed to have. They said it was in the back somewhere but they couldnt find it. They wanted me to wait 2 days for them to find it in the back. They obviously have no problem with false advertising. Their excuse was that they arent in charge of their own website so they dont have to honor whats on it. Dont bother going here unless you want to be lied to and treated badly. I wont be returning.
