Purchased Toyota Prius 2011 Hybrid last Saturday, August 21, 2021. It was raining all weekend, we drove the car home and Monday comes, my husband noticed the leak under the engine motor. The engine motor is leaking and when we check the level of oil, it was empty. We called the dealership and spoke to the sales agent Bill and the manager Travis. My husband told them about the problem that the car does not have oil and it was leaking. They told us that because we purchased the car as-is they cant do anything for us. We can bring the car to them and get it check and we will be charge for it. This is the worst dealership I have ever experience. Worst customer service, although it is as-is you wont expect anything that could happen in the car within just TWO days??? Beware of this dealership!!! They dont care about the customer service because they think they are BIG company. That is how I see the people that are working here, they dont care about us small customers.
They are currently charging over a $8,000 “Market Price Adjustment” on some of their vehicles. The very first Chevrolet dealership I called after them isn’t charging any such thing. Clearly they are getting away with this because people are unaware. If you read this, just call another dealership and ask if they are charging anything like a market price adjustment and go to them.
This dealership considers customer service and satisfaction very important. They listen and work with you to the best of their ability. I appreciate them very much!

The manager sux likes to low ball a trade in. Wants to give nothing for a trade and wont budge off their price. Acts like your bothering him when hes evaluating your vehicle
Very organized. and extremely informative. Emailed a reminder prior to the appointment, and called to let me know when to pick up long before the vehicle was ready, and it Was ready when they said. I have never had that happen in the past.
This is our 3rd truck from Chevy of dover and our 2nd from James. Each time we go in it’s such a smooth process and he’s quick! I contact him prior to even being there and he’s got everything already set when we come in, we don’t get asked a million questions and we get right down to business and it’s a comfortable atmosphere as well. Will continue to buy from Chevrolet of dover!
John U. Checked me in the last two times I have visited. He handled everything very professionally and is very patient with me. I’m always forgetting I have a coupon or reward to use and he never seems upset to go back and fix my paperwork with the coupon/reward. John has a great personality and you’re lucky to have him dealing with your customers.
I was approached about my vehicle’s maintenance and then told there were several thousands of dollars that needed to be done to get it up to standard based on its mileage. I agreed to do the transmission on Thursday. Then that next Sunday I had major engine tapping. I could not prove it of course. However i will not be back to that facility.
Bill Mcphail helped me and my dad be able to get the car I wanted in the first place. We test drove it. Talked about financing, down payments, had to wait for a bank to approve me getting the car. I did not trade in my old car because they only offered 1,000. His manger was a big help as well helped me get the car I wanted.
Tony Hall was outstanding in customer communication and upfront about the pricing and issues with my vehicle.
We came in looking for a Chevy Malibu and left there with a Chevy Malibu. The whole process was so easy and I never felt that I was just a sale. The worked with me on the price of the vehicle, the trade in value, and the new interest rate. It was a great experience.
I paid for an extended warranty and the Dealership never paid the warranty company and pocketed the money. We had proof that we paid for everything and now the warranty company is refunding our money, good thing the truck needed a wheel bearing or this would have never been caught.
Bob Silver is the best Service Advisor I have ever had the pleasure to work with. We only have been going to Hertrich since we bought our 21 Tahoe in Sept 20. We bought our vehicle in another state and I was worried that would be a problem when it came to our warranties. Thus far it has had 3 recalls, a radio update, its first oil change and just this past weekend a tire replacement due to a nail puncture each have been taken care of with attention to detail and great customer service!! I ordered a roof rack & new wheels for my truck. I made an appointment two weeks ago for today’s date at 9:30 am. I dropped my truck off on time & asked about what time they thought it would be done. They said they probably couldn’t get to it until later in the day & would be done around 5. Obviously this is annoying - what’s the point of my appt at 9:30? I come to pick up my truck around 4:30/wait for it to be done & they told me nothing was able to get done today. Nobody called me at any point to tell me this was the case & they wondered why I was upset.
BUYER BEWARE! This isnt a dealership its a STEALERship. They pull the old bait and switch, advertise one price but when you come in they have a market rate adjustment so that you can never get the price they advertise online. Ill be contacting GM and the Delaware Consumer Protection unit Monday because they are guilty of FRUAD and FALSE ADVERSTISING. Id never give me business to such a dishonest merchant and neither should you. Spend your hard earned money with someone who will treat you right. There are plenty of legit Chevy dealers in the area. Caitlin Dryden is a FANTASTIC customer service representative. I brought my car in for repair and she made the experience flawless. She is very knowledgeable about second party payments which was my concern. she kept me up to date on everything that was taking place and she made sure I understood what was going to happen before I left the dealership.Above all that, on the day I came to pick up my car, which was the day she promised, it was raining I could see my car a few feet outside the bay, she offered to go out into the rain and bring my car to me so I could stay dry....NOW THAT IS WHAT MAKING AND KEEPING CUSTOMERS IS ALL ABOUT! I had a very unfortunate experience with this dealership. I spoke with Bill A. about a Silverado 2500 on their website. Bill confirmed the vehicle was onsite and available. I asked about pricing and was told the price was absolutely firm and could go no lower than MSRP (before Chevy cash promotion). I then asked what I would need to do to hold the vehicle if I was interested (so it wasnt sold to someone else while I traveled to the dealer). Bill said he had to find out from his manager and when he came back on the phone (90 seconds later), to my surprise, he told me that, due to the scarcity of this vehicle, the price was actually $3000 more than MSRP. Even though I thought we had just agreed on a price and I just wanted to find out how to hold the car. As of the writing of this review, the vehicle is still on the site and still being advertised at the price I was originally quoted (NOT the $3,000 more). I feel that this is a pretty dishonest way to do business. If you are going to actually charge people $3,000 above MSRP, then actually show that on your site. I have to chosen to take my business elsewhere.

Awful staff, Lies on lies and I know this is a coming thing in dealerships but you would think that after believing their lies and officially purchasing a car, you would expect good customer service ( I mean, they already got their money) vehicle services have disrespectful employees that threaten you once you stand up for yourself. Brand new truck needs front end alignment. Machine had not been calibrated. I was supposed to receive a call last Wednesday today is Sunday. No call as to when I have to take the truck back. Meanwhile my tires are being affected. Not happy
John Urban was very helpful he did a rundown of what it will cost for my car to be repaired and what I didnt need done and I thank him a lot for that I would recommend him and his senior mechanic

My car broke down I had it towed to them and I calmed the next day and they said they couldn’t get to it till Wednesday as I didn’t make an appointment. Duh! The car broke down. They charged 419.00 for an ignition module a 45.00 part they charged 124.00 for and then all kinds of charges. Money hungry doesn’t even begin to describe this place. Absolutely deplorable. They don’t care either which makes it worse.
We worked with Marlon and Yale ..... Marlon from beginning to end was thorough ... patient and fought hard for us. He really knew his stuff and got us in the car or our dreams for our growing family. Yale was amazing in the process as well. He didn’t play games or try any gimmicks.Overall was an amazing experience. Drove away in a 2020 Traverse completely happy.

I really suggest no one buys a car from this particular dealership...Bought a used vehicle and not even 12 hours it broke down...all the manager and supervisor are very unprofessional,rude and very unhelpful.They said they fixed all the multiple problems this car had they sold to me and the next day it was back in the shop again.. they said the fixed the problems again and the car i just bought with 36000 miles on it is sitting in my driveway broke down still... They dont check the cars for problems just sell them and now it your problem...horrible experience ....Please dont buy your car from here...

To add to my previous review. I noticed my driver side front tire became low in comparison to my other 3 tires. I was going to pump air at the gas station at least once a month, told this to the service area and they checked it and brushed it off and said my tires are practically like new and I wouldn’t need new ones any time soon. Well a month later my front tire did not hold air AT ALL. I woke up to the tire pressure on 0 and had to replace my tire at a more reputable place. This location comes off very money hungry rather than fixing problems.
Poor customer service, brought a Jeep Grand Cherokee in October. When I got home I noticed the”G” letter in grand was missing on the side. I contacted the car salesman the same day and he told me he was going to order it. Few weeks went by heard nothing about the letters, I reached out again and was told they would be here a certain day. My temp tag was also running out and I had to call for my tag (which someone should of called me to tell me it came in and they never did)so asked about my letters and apparently were never ordered. Still to this day I’ve asked about my letters and no response. Quick to take make a sales date forget all about you. Not to mention staff not so friendly.Even after all of this attempted to give them more business with purchasing another car and no success.
Worst service I’ve ever dealt with.. riding around with an expired t tag because they refuse to give me another one. Texted the sales man and he laughed at the fact that I needed another t tag .. what a joke. And None of the managers will call me back.. Save yourself the headache and DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!

Was told at last service date my next time would be 54.00. Came in today and paid 93.45 for oil change. Now I am a widow 81 yrs old on a fixed income and this is way to much for me to pay was told reason why new people took over. Do not believe this as my last oil change paper received had same name. Very upset. Please do sonething
Me and my wife went to Chevrolet of Dover to trade in our 2005 Cadillac SRX and get into a newer, affordable SUV. We knew we had some credit challenges, but Will Sheppard was able to get us into a vehicle we were satisfied with. The courteous service we got from Will is the only reason this is not a one star review. We got fair trade-in value for our old car, and we were happy with our 2015 Chevy Traverse. The payment was higher than the budget we told them, but they promised we would be able to refinance in the near future as long as we made our payments on time.Fast forward eight months later, and we went back in to refinance. They ran our credit through five different companies, but we had a verbal agreement with Will on a new deal. We were supposed to come in a few days later to finalize and sign. When we came back in, five days later, another associate, Ryan, ran our credit 5 MORE TIMES through the same companies! He then gave us a false promise about getting us into a 2018 Traverse that we never even asked for. So in less than a week, Chevy of Dover put 10 inquiries on our credit report and we have nothing to show for it, even though we had a verbal agreement.A month later, we had TWO MORE INQUIRIES from the same companies show up on our credit report, AND WE WERE NEVER EVEN AT THE BUILDING! They ran our credit without our consent, apparently didnt like what they saw, and never even bothered to place a follow up call with us after their false promises. I still have more business to do with this dealership, but after it is complete I will never return again, and I hope this review prevents another person from being misled and used.

Jeremy is the best salesman! We were not sure we even wanted a Chevy and explained to Jeremy we were “just looking”. He was very patient, showed us several different models, took us on a test drive, and answered all of our questions. We did not end up buying a Chevy (we’re Subaru people at heart), but Jeremy was awesome nonetheless.

MITCH was no help at all, he said he keeps it real but yet instead of saying what he has to say he goes to his MANAGER to talk trash about the customer he’s trying to sell to because we wouldn’t take the deal. Would never support this dealer ship again. Didn’t even run my credit but because I’m black he just assumes I have bad credit and says I would be Paying the highest payment

I went on May 21st to purchase a 2020 Chevrolet Trax AWD. Our sales man was really great! Super personable and made us feel more like friends rather than customers! They even stayed 2 hours past closing time to allow us to finish up our paper work for the purchase. I was sooo excited and was loving my new car. I purchased my vehicle with only 6 miles showing in the dash. On May 31st, as I was pulling out of my neighborhood onto a busy road, my NEW car FAILED TO ACCELERATE, and I was barely going 5mph. This car now only had 761 miles on it (went back and forth to the beach a couple of times). It was safe to say that my life flashed before my eyes as cars were coming at high speeds and I couldn’t even make it across the street. Then after pulling over and numerous attempts, we were finally able to push the car out of first gear in order to get it back home. Once home, while the car was sitting in park, the car rolled forward in the driveway. I wrote up and email right after we got home since it was Sunday and explained what happened and advised they can call me at anytime to discuss the situation. Expecting a call a little after they opened....they never called. It wasn’t until an hour and a half after they were open that I finally called and had to explain what happened. I had spoken to the Manager, Yale, and the way he handled the situation was very poor and unprofessional. He did not have one ounce of compassion or empathy towards anything. He only talked about how they follow the lemon law and I signed the paper dealing with the lemon law...I told him I couldn’t believe a brand new car would have such serious issues already and that I’ve had cars with thousands of miles on them and never given me those kind of issues, just for him to come back with a chuckle saying “yeah I’ve had Chevys with hundreds of thousands miles on it with no issues either”....funny how we both were saying the same thing. After that, I requested to speak to the next level manager for him to only say the GM had the flu and was not in that day. He told me I could call back tomorrow and talk to him if I wanted. He did not provide me with any other solutions. When I asked him for the GMs name he provided me with that, then when I asked him for his name, he provided me his name, I said thank you, and then he hung up. Unfortunately, I was not finished with the conversation because I still did not know what to do with my broken car. I ended up calling a local Chevy dealership around my way and they were able to help me with advise on how to get my car fixed. It’s horrible that Chevy sold a defective car as a company, but the way this dealership handled the situation was just completely rude. Please consider Diver Chevrolet if you are looking to purchase a car!!
$80 is an astronomical price for an oil change. Will not be bringing our car back for that service.
It took 3 separate visits to successfully fix my heated seat Element in my brand new Chevy. During those same visits, they insisted the vibrations and rattles under the hood couldnt be diagnosed. After the third visit, it was determined motor mounts were bad and were supposed to be replaced. Two weeks later I finally decide to go to a different Chevy dealer for the noises that persisted just for them to tell me the motor mounts were never fixed. Dont go here. Theyll only do pieces of the job each visit just to rack up your bills.
My experience with the entire dealership was been very positive. The service department does its best to work into your schedule, not the other way around...and all the people in that department seem to genuinely want to give you the best service possible every time. The collision department does the best work I have ever seen or experienced. The work is perfect (Im very meticulous) but they do it in such a quick turnaround time that it is nothing short of industry best. My review is based on using both departments multiple times in the last year so the feedback Im providing is consistent from experience to experience.

Make sure you get everything in writing from this dealership they will make promises but when it comes time to deliver they forget, eventually got things fixed but took alot of time and leg work just be sure to dot your is and cross your ts to save yourself time and frustration

We have been Townsend Chevrolet customers for years and have bought our cars from there as recently as of March this year. This was the 1st time having service there since the change over and new branding. The service agent Dan was not knowledgeable and when asked to check the records because everything that he was recommending to be done next, I knew had been done, he responded that due to the transition in the company he had no access to those records and did not make an effort to ask another agent or go beyond that. I went to Paul whom Ive known for years and he pulled everything up and updated the service record. I dont feel as confident as before when taking my car there for service . This is not the service I have been accustomed to from you guys.

If your looking for a vehicle keep riding past this place me and my husband have purchased several vehicles and have never had a issue until we decided to buy one here on 8/5 in early September the vehicle started having issues so we took it to get looked at and no one knew the answer so they did a quick fix and the issue wasnt resolved so being that they had no idea we suggested that we would like another vehicle they acted like that wouldnt be a issue told us they would help us and that we thought they were doing they did nothing but lie they first told us a car that we were interested in was being detailed at another location lies so they told us to wait and they would give us a call we had to call them back they then said car had been sold at auction but had just told us it was in the middle of being detailed so then another car was discussed called back and said they were working with banks on approval lies they had never even run info they kept giving us the run around they are out to get your money and give u a bad vehicle they are full of lies and the people in charge have a I dont care attitude and teach their sales reps to lie if your looking for a nice Chevy please I repeat please look else where bunch of scam artist and the technicians arent knowledgeableUpdate : 9/23/2016 found out the motor was bad sold my husband a vehicle with a bad motor that would eventually just lock and stop working no wonder they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it they didnt want to put out the money to fix it shame on Chevy of Dover
