I read the reviews,did my research. This location was by far the worst experience I have Ever encountered. I had my eyes examined, purchased 2 pairs of glasses,Sun glasses plus my every day glasses. My part AFTER insurance was over $1000. When I received my glasses I still couldnt use the glasses. I went back to see what could be done, I was Then told nothing could be done, the doctor suggested I have cataracts removed. WHY WASNT I TOLD THAT BEFORE I SPENT $1000.00 .FOR GLASSES I WILL NEVER USE!!I will Never go back and will defently suggest no one else use Advanced money grabber

Honesty is the best policy. Be sure you tell them at the front desk if you do not want the $39 scan that is not paid by your insurance. Also, they are really friendly and extra clean. you will feel very safe here. The glasses are a bit high price for me at this time, but I did like the selection. I would given 5 stars if the guy in optical would have been totally honest, and not insulted my intelligence. Everyone else was totally pro! I do recommend this clinic, but grab your prescription and skip ! I unexpectedly yanked into paying for the eye scan. I would have been happy to pay if they explained it on during my visit. I just didnt like how it was done.

I have been here twice, both times for a bad allergy causing the white of my eye to swell up badly, and Advanced Vision has been wonderful. The doctors are personable and seem to really care and best of all: I still have both eyes! Thanks!

I have been wearing glasses for 20 yrs. I have never had to wait for over two weeks to get my glasses. I called after two weeks on a Thursday was told my glasses would be in on that Friday no later than Monday. I go there on Wed. And I knew there was a problem because I waited for 30 min. Only to be told that my glasses were at the other store and in a pink frame! Heres the guy you picked pink frames right while holdingthe black ones!?! No and you know I didnt I get the feeling he wanted me to say oh no but I will keep the pink frames and pick them up from the other store. Nope I want black frames and to pick up from the store where I recieved services. How about its Thursday the 3rd week and I still dont have my glasses. If I had free time I would go there cancel my order and request a refund. This is why I do not like paying for a service before I get the actual product. I will NEVER be going here again but good luck if you do and make sure you have 300 to 1000 to pay out of pocket!

Loved! Very professional especially with sanitizing and cleaning everything due to COVID-19. The receptionist was amazing! So helpful and polite, the staff is a 10+. I highly recommend, Advanced Vision Care in Desoto.

Doctor and eye exam were great, Luis on the other hand, I went in picked my frames, he said he would make a note of it, when I got ready to order glasses, he couldnt find my frames, he said he threw out my information, so sitting down going over insurance details and frames I wanted, was a waste of time. He was writing down everything that i wanted including the frame style at the 1st sit down he also told my that I could get an additional pair as shades for free. 2nd sit down I asked him about the second pair, he said they would cost $175.00 extra. Long story short end up getting a pair of almost $1200.00, that is still in the case. That i will NEVER wear,, still wearing my old glasses, Not the frame I picked out. Very unsatisfied customer, very disappointing 😕

I have been a patient of Dr. Smith for 10+ years. I cant imagine the thought of going elsewhere. He is so thorough and patient and knowlegible; and his staff is superb. Always helpful, friendly, and top professionals. It is a pleasure to go to his office. If you are looking for the best OD around, he is what you are searching for.

Dr Smith is indeed a good optometrist. But his billing practices are obscure and borderline deceptive. They require payment in full- even if you have insurance and before they apply it. I never heard of such. W hen I came in, the receptionist is very polite and friendly, but when I asked how much is the exam, she said they would tell me when I was called back. When I went back another friendly person said I had to do a Wellness exam. I asked was it part of the regular exam (because my insurance pays for that) and she said she had to check. She came back and said it was part of the exam. Ha. It is not! It is extra. They sent a man into the frame selection area without any invoice or documentation, demanding payment in full for contacts and whatever frame Id like to buy. I didnt need frames only contacts. When I asked how much they were he could not say what the insurance paid or what was out of pocket. I pulled out my debit card to pay for my contacts, but later found that was for the office visit and the Wellness. I protested that over the phone and left messages at the office for days, with no response. When I finally got them on the phone, the Dr was unavailable. And the finance person, Melanie wrongfully said that my insurance said Dr. Smith under charged me and gave me a higher office visit charge. I told her I didnt believe that, no insurance company tells a Dr. what to charge. In fact, I called my insurance and they said they did NOT say that and they called her. After we went over the charges, Dr. Smith overcharged so much, the insurance would not pay it unless he wrote it off. Its called Contractual Write off . Well to make a long story short, I paid extra out of pocket, for a future fit and follow up charge has to be paid up front, and a Wellness Exam that was not part of the covered eye exam. I wanted to discuss it, and I wanted a refund of that Wellness Exam trick, but they refused and they wanted to hold my contacts Hostage until I paid that. In fact they didnt tell me my contacts were in, MY INSURANCE COMPANY told me my contacts were in. I asked them why didnt they tell me when I called and asked, and they claimed they just came in when the Insurance company called. (Right) I paid it but I wanted that adjusted because I felt lied to. BEWARE OF A GOOD OPTOMETRIST THAT HAS NO SIGNAGE IN THE OFFICE DEMANDING TO BE PAID IN FULL UPFRONT. DOES NOT TELL YOU THE CHARGES FOR AN OFFICE VISIT, PRICE FOR EXAMS OR ANYTHING. The finance person later said that it is on a form you fill out in the waiting room. IF YOU ASK FOR EXPLANATION THEY WILL SEND THIS YOUNG MAN IN THERE WITH A DEBIT MACHINE LOUDLY TELLING YOU WHAT YOU OWE WITHOUT ANY OF YOUR INSURANCE DOCUMENTATION, OR ONE PIECE OF PAPER-- in front of people. You feel scammed. I will never use them again

I LOVE my new glasses from Advanced Vision Care. I went to them about 3-4 months after spending well over $1500.00 at another optometrist office only to have the glasses I bought get to the point I could no longer use them because the scratch resistant lenses I paid extra for, I could no longer see through. After going back to readers for several months, I decided to start over again. The doctor and staff at Advanced Vision Care could not have been more helpful. I have now had my new glasses for over 6 months and not a single scratch yet. I highly recommend this office, you will be glad you went to them.Enthusiastically,Jeff

I well never refer anyone to this establishment until they get that Rude Ass Office Manager Tracy .... she is really crazy and stupid.. I will make sure not to send anyone... Its sad that have to give them this 1 star, but Tracy the office manager is the rudest ever. I wouldnt same anyone else to deal with this Nut Case.

I can only say good things about Advanced Vision Care. Had my first eye exam in years with Dr Smith and he was great with making me feel at ease with my exam. I had two pair of glasses ordered, computer and progression glasses. A few days later I was having difficulty adjusting to my progression glasses because it required three prescriptions (far sight, near sight and intermediate) for my daily use. I noticed when seeing through the intermediate and near sighted lens it looked blurry and there was only a small amount in the lens to read. I called the office and was told to come back in to correct my problem. Problem fixed and Im 100% satisfied. Oh and I forgot to mention there was no extra charge.Thank you Advanced Vision Care

The Dr seemed nice enough, and so did the some of the office staff. There was an issue with the cost of the frames, and that lady was extremely rude. First my son went for an exam and we priced him some frames and lenses. I went home, but then decided to place his order on hold, because I had an appointment and I wanted to be sure that is what he really wanted. At over 200 for the pair, ya kinda want to be sure. I also want to clarify that I have VSP vision, so they have better payouts than others. Then I went in for my eye exam, and I needed a small prescription, mostly for computer wear. After hearing that mine would be over 250, after insurance I decided to wait. I gave the go ahead to order my sons pair. I left there and decided that I needed a few things from Costco before going home. I checked the price there, and they were so nice and really were very helpful on finding me the best price, and not going for the biggest take home. The digital coating at Costco is .02 cents, compared to this office at a whopping 150.00. VSP covers only 75.00 of that, so their product is priced well above so they can turn out a huge profit. So I decided right there to order from Costco. They sent the order through that night and for mine and my sons glasses with all the extra coatings was 134.00!! So, as you can imagine the savings is worth the membership alone. But if you already have a membership I would suggest going there for the prescription. So I called the very next morning to cancel my order, less than 24 hours later and Tracey (the eyeglass salesperson) was very rude. I had to call my insurance company to facilitate the process because they were so incorrigible. Even though it was less than 24 hours. So they cancelled the glass order because to be honest it wouldnt have went through anyway because Costcos hit the night before. I was then on the phone with my HSA to see what I had left and there was their charge still on there from the original down payment. I had to call this rude person again. To which she then proceeded to tell me how on the front door it states No Refunds. I had an order that she didnt even process and then never bothered to refund it. Not only that my HSA wanted a reason for the 2 charges, Costco and Advanced vision. She finally told me she would have the doctor call me, and I told her I didnt care who called as long as the money was returned for services not rendered. As you can imagine I will never refer anyone to this establishment and my family will never return. This place is a joke.
