We have Panasonic AJ-PX270s in the WMBB news department. Im able to service most issues until it comes down to board level stuff. I was referred to MYK Camera Repair and thought I would give them a shot.I got an estimate for the repair within 20 hours after filling out the online form which I though was amazing. I sent the camera to them and I receive a response during the weekend describing what they found and what it would take to perform the repair - absolutely amazing!The camera is back in operation within 2 weeks which is 6 weeks shorter than the Panasonic service and the cost of repair was VERY fair.MYK has my business from now on!

My Sony EX3, somewhat long in tooth, began turning off during concert shoots. Found MYK through Google search and recommendation of a student of mine, plus the fact that videos of the repair process to my specific problem were done by John at MYK. He did the repair extremely promptly, sent pictures, cleaned and tested the camera before sending it back, and in total did everything we used to expect from a service business but so rarely experience these days. My experience:- Liked that they were in the Midwest as opposed to on the coast.- Liked repairs videos on website to see how they worked.- Sent camcorder symptoms via E-mail on Sunday, got estimate on Monday.- Initially thought cost was high, but reconsidered after watching several DIY videos and saw that estimate included return shipping and a warranty period (above the hard-to-find parts, and labor).- Tracked insured packages arrival at store and received pictures of completed repair later THE SAME DAY.- Paid the invoice the next day and the package shipped the next.- Received package today. All my packing materials were returned inside a larger package containing additional packing materials.- Inserted memory card and attached battery and tested camera. Contacted with a description of the problem I was having with my Sony SLT-A55V camera. John responded with an estimate that was reasonable. This is an absolutely amazing service. We have years of memories on DV tapes and our DV camcorder stopped working when transferring them to the computer. MYK came to the rescue. They repaired our camcorder and now it is in perfect working order! It is amazing that there is a place that can repair a 15 year old camcorder to working condition! Very impressive! My Canon 6D encountered an issue for the first time since I bought it. I have no knowledge of fixing a camera...So I googled camera repair and found MYK Camera Repair and their website. I sent in my Sony A7III with a broken HDMI port. John was super responsive, friendly, and even asked if I wanted to update the firmware. The camera came back in full working condition in a reasonable turnaround time and would return to him if I ever broke my camera again. Hopefully not though!

My Sony Digital 8 HandyCam stopped working several years ago, and I had several old tapes that were extremely valuable as teaching material. The camera would eat the video tapes. I got a very reasonable online estimate from MYK, and I shipped the camera via UPS. In less than a week, I got it back, working just as when it was new (not bad for a 20 year-old piece of equipment). After trying to get my JVC mini DV camcorder fixed, turns out it was to old, parts not available, however, MYK Camera was able to provide me a solution that I was aiming for and that was to get 15 mini DV cassettes converted to MP4s and they did just that. I live in FLA and could have gone anywhere down here but MYK was confident and ready to do the job so I shipped them the cassettes and BLAM, they came back in a timely manner on a 32 GB flash drive in MP4 format and now I can watch on my HDTV/Computer/iPhone how skinny I was 15 years ago and with no gray hair! Shipped out my Canon XF 100 on a Monday, and received it back, repaired for the quoted price, on Thursday of the same week. I had sent requests for quotes to five repair shops. Their quote was slightly higher than some, but upon reading up on the others, I found out why. Many of the others are notorious for low quote, get your camera, then hold it hostage for a higher cost, sometimes more than twice the quote. John did exactly what he said he was going to do, for exactly the price. I will certainly use them for any future camera repairs!

My Canon DSLR 70Ds SD card stopped working and I suspected that a pin(s) may have broken. Found John and MYK through Google search, saw many excellent reviews, so I decided to try. Just had my Canon 5D MKII card reader pins repaired. The service was excellent and fast. Throughout the process, John communicated very well with me. He even did a couple extras (fixed a focus screen and cleaned the sensor).Great place, highly recommended.Also - When I was toying with the idea of making the 3.5 hour drive up there to drop it off in person, he was open to the idea of meeting me outside of business hours to help facilitate that. My A55 shutter drive died on me and I had started to research a replacement. As the A77 III was on the horizon, I decided to try to repair the camera instead. I emailed MYK to confirm my error with their description of the repair and John replied within a few hours. The quote for the repair was a great price compared to a new camera so I sent the camera off and let John repair it. He was quick to communicate and kept me updated on the progress of the work including sending me photographs of the disassembled parts and proof showing that it was back in working order. I received my camera back and it is actually BETTER than when I sent it out because of the sensor cleaning. Would definitely recommend!

Who are you going to trust?My Hi8 camcorder didnt work when I tried to use it to convert my old home videos. It had just been sitting on the shelf. I researched a number of places that claim to fix Sony camcorders checking reviews and BBB ratings/complaints. Some places ended up returning the camera to their owners in worse condition then when sent in after doing a free estimate!I am proud to add my 5* rating to MYK Camera Repair. When I called, Mike explained the whole process without any pressure. He gave me an estimate for basic repair/cleaning. If parts were required, he would find them and let me know the cost in advance. After he received the camera, he sent me photos of the problem. The price was very reasonable (cheaper than the others I had researched) and the next day he sent photos with the good news that the camcorder was working perfectly. Because I asked, he gave me options for return shipping. When the camcorder came back, the old parts were in the box.The camera works perfectly! I have a sony video camera which is my work horse. I had a focus problem and had an error message C32:60. A bit of web searching told me this was a relatively common problem for many sony models, including my own. After a number of phone calls and web contacts, MYK got my business because he seemed to understand my problem in our initial phone conversation. I drove from Milwaukee to his shop with my camera late Monday afternoon. By Thursday the camera repair was complete. Actually, I believe the work that he performed made it better than it was before the problem. Professional, fast, and reasonably priced. His work earned my 5 star review on all counts.

I had done a lot of research before I chose John at MYK Camera. First off he was the absolute lowest price for the service. I mailed the camera 2 day mail on Thursday. A Sony HDR-SR12 Video camera. It arrived to him on Saturday. Mid Saturday I got an email saying it was repaired, along with photos showing it working. The correspondence was magnificent. It was mailed back to me on the following Monday. Great experience with MYK. Was getting sky high estimates at other repair shops for my Sony EX-1. It had a loose handle grip and the internal screws were coming into contact with a circuit board, causing a short. I was hesitant to pick a place I found on-line for my video camera repair but I cannot express how comfortable I was throughout the process. All communication was prompt and professional. They were able to locate a discontinued part. I contacted them about the problem, they quoted me a price, I shipped the camera and they sent emails updating me on the progress. They sent a picture of the repaired camera before asking for payment and shipped it as soon as they received payment. The even included the damaged part with the return shipment. All communication was over email but I was highly satisfied. Service was prompt and repair successful. John was extremely responsive in repairing my 8mm Sony EV-A50 VCR. I had it returned, fully repaired in under a week including shipping! I brought in my Canon Rebel T3I camera to repair a dislodged lens in the viewfinder. I was lucky to find MYK Camera online while looking for a Sony repair shop. I have had two very positive experiences with the store recently specially with John who did my repairs. John was very honest and very quick fixing my Sony digital back recorder and my HDV camera. Ihad brought my Sony Hi8 deck to a Sony Authorized repair place in Connecticut and they told me they couldnt repair it because parts are no longer available. John was incredibly helpful and knowledgable. After diagnosing the problem and working directly with Canon we discovered my camera was too far out of date to be repaired. I was disheartened after a phone call with Canon, which recommended that I ship my DSLR body to its service centers in VA or NJ. I have a trip coming up soon and worried that I wouldnt get it back in time, plus its an extra hassle. Luckily I came across MYK online. John responded promptly to my inquiry and not only did he repair it in less than a day, he also replaced the bashed-in hot shoe and fixed the pop-up flash free of charge. Definitely would recommend.

I dropped one of my Sony A7IIs at an event, wouldnt focus, menu was useless. I found MYK via google and I must say, John was absolutely fabulous. Turnaround time, workmanship and price, were second to none and the camera has no cliches or issues. AWESOME JOB! I dropped a movie camera on a sidewalk and broke the touch screen. I took it to a camera shop where they told me the repairs would probably exceed half the price of the camera, and I might very loose the footage on the camera. (This camera has a hard drive). They recommended I just buy a new camera. I stumbled on MYK Camera Camcorder Repair Service on the internet and corresponded with John. I sent him the camera, they replaced the touch screen, cleaned the automatic lens cover, cleaned the camera and lenses, tested it, e-mailed pictures of what they did. And in my case, they were able to repair it the day they received it, and I was able to keep all my previously shot footage, all for less than half of what I was quoted from a different camera shop! I would recommend them to anyone.

GREAT SERVICE! I had called a local firm (KC) that was recommended by two independent businesses, even though it had poor online reviews. Calling them only confirmed that the KC business was arrogant and rude.John Han (MYK), on the other hand, had stellar reviews. So, I requested an online quote, since the problem with the camera was common enough that there were multiple YouTube videos on attempted repairs.Pleasantly surprised, I had a quote the next morning via email, that hed sent the prior evening. It is a pleasure to recommend MYK Camera Repair because quality work at a decent price is so rare these days. The main power switch on my venerable Sony PMW EX1 needed to be replaced (the camera would unexpectedly lose power and reboot on its own-- not a good thing). I contacted MYK and they told me that the problem was a known issue. I shipped the camera to them and they replaced the switch and upgraded the firmware. I liked that they emailed photos of the process as the repair was underway. They were very pleasant to deal with, they do first-rate work and the price was reasonable.I take good care of my gear and dont often need servicing or repairs, but its nice to know MYK is out there if a problem arises.

Three times now, John has taken care of my Canon Videocams. I use these cameras for my TV Show, Team Chicago Challenge, and they are getting old. Because he really knows his stuff, his prices are quite reasonable, because he know what he is doing. His shop is easy to find and it is always worth the trip to MYK Camera.

Brought in a lower end camcorder that wasnt working. He instantly diagnosed the problem as battery related. He didnt even charge me because he didnt sell the parts for mine. (His place is more for the high end stuff.)
