Today, on the way to replace a bad tire, the tire failed. I pulled into a parking lot next to Action Auto on 2nd Avenue. I am 67 and diabetic. After struggling with changing the tire due to one of the cheap plastic lug caps breaking off, leaving the threaded part still around the lug, Chad, from Action Auto spotted me struggling. He came over with a hydraulic jack and tools. He jacked the car up, removed the lugs, put the spare on, and tightened the lugs. He was a godsend and refused my offer of any money for his efforts. Judging by his professionalism and his efforts to help a stranger out of a difficult situation, I would take my car to him in a heartbeat and I encourage anyone else in need of auto body repair to patronize his shop.

I have nothing else but great things to say about my experience at Action Auto Body, LLC. My car needed some body and trim work and they were very helpful when I had to schedule my estimate. After the estimate was done, they were very professional when planning on when it would be ready. They were very helpful and friendly. I didnt know Chad was the owner. He treated me like he knew me for a long time. He treated me very well. When they finished the work, they made sure they checked every area and reviewed everything they worked on with me looking at the services done. If there was something that was missed, Chad had someone make sure everything was taken care of. He then took me to his desk and very kindly gave me an estimate for future work on other services. Everything turned out smooth and I can truly say I had nothing negative to say about them. Lisa and Chad are super friendly and professional. My review is not about the business as I do not own a car. However my review is about the amazing family that works this wonder location. My cat likes to roam and wander and he has now become one of the neighbourhood cats. Someone had picked him up and posted him online and these wonderful people drove to Ankeney to pick up my boy because they knew where he belonged. The whole business treats him like he is their pet. Awesome to work with. I went in for an estimate on my Nissan truck and he took it apart, showed me what parts to order if I wanted to replace myself. He would have replaced, but saved me money by showing me how to replace the parts. He was very helpful and explained how to replace the parts.

My wife and kids were rear ended by a driver with no insurance. This accident left me footing the bill as it was a hit and run. He took pictures of the damage to start the process and got the vehicle in for repairs within the next week. During the repairs, Chad and his team noticed several other things that were affected by the crash and called me on each to ensure they could be repaired with my permission and I was not blindsided by hidden costs. Chad also worked directly with the insurance company so that I did not have to shoulder that burden as well. After about week or so, I got the car back and the work was phenomenal. The back end of my wifes SUV looked brand new after the team repaired and detailed the smashed tailgate. After repairs, I received the bill and was most impressed at how affordable Action Auto Body was for the service that was received. My experience here has been nothing but positive! I was rear ended by an uninsured driver only 3 days after getting my car. For anyone, this would be an extremely stressful situation. However, Chad and Michele some how made me feel less stressed. During my initial conversation with Michele, she told me how the uninsured driver may act towards me overtime and how to respond (or not to respond). Well she was spot on, as everything she said, the uninsured driver end up doing. Chad explained in great detail what was damaged and how my insurance would factor in. He was extremely understanding when I decided not to use my insurance and worked with me to figure out what should be fixed without spending too much. In the end, I got an great deal and my car came out better than I could of ever expected. Seriously, it was amazing! Chad and Michele were so genuine, kind, and honest throughout all of our conversations. I hope to never be in a collision again, but if I am, Action Auto Body would be my first and only choice!

The customer service here is incredible. Chad is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer any questions you have. When you bring your car in for a repair, he walks you through the entire process . He takes pictures of the damage and then he takes pictures of the progress as he’s doing the work. Chad Ogle, of Action Auto-body, is the consummate professional. He quickly and thoroughly assessed the damage to my 2016 Honda CRV (I’d side-swiped a telephone pole), and laid out various scenarios for repair. What was amazing was that he finished the rather detailed repair in one day. I was floored. He also had the car spotlessly cleaned inside and out, and the car really did look new when I picked it up. I will use Action Auto-body from now on, and I will recommend them to everyone I know. They are honest beyond measure, and one of the few Gold Class rated body shops in the Des Moines metro area.

Chad Ogle completed a thorough, professional repair estimate and explained just how and why each step of the process is done, including sending the necessary photos, repair parts, and labor to the insurance company. Chad even took me inside the shop to show me exactly how they lay out the damaged parts that are to be repaired/painted and take a picture to share with the customer. In my case, a similar vehicle was having a similar repair being done the day I got my estimate. So Chad went through the whole process with me inside the shop. On the day I picked my vehicle up after the repairs, Chad again spent time going over the vehicle with me to be sure it met my approval. He pointed out some minor scratches that were not part of the repair and some door ding paint chips. While we agreed that they were not things that were caused while the car was in their care, Chad offered to have one of his employees use some rubbing compound on the scratches and touch up paint on a couple of minor paint chips. He even sent me home with a little bit more matching paint in case I saw anything else that needed to be touched up. I would definitely recommend Action Auto Body to my friends!

My wifes vehicle had been keyd pretty badly down the driver and part of the passenger side. We chose Action Auto Body to do the repairs from a list of local auto body shops. Chad (the owner) is a great guy, very personable and respectful, someone you could tell takes pride in his business. We were able to get an appointment within a few weeks and when we arrived for our appointment we were greeted by Chad who then took a look at the vehicle and explained everything that would need to be done to repair the damage. Once the paperwork was finalized with our insurance we brought the vehicle in for repairs. Within 10 days the repairs were complete. My wife and I were amazed at the great job Chad and his team did. Due to someone not securing a load, a large item was laying in my lane on I-80/35. It was dark out, the item was black and I didnt see it in time to miss it. So, our RAV4 got to visit Chad and the crew at Action Auto Body. Just got it back today and it looks show room new!! Chad called me multiple times throughout the process to keep me updated. They also emailed a ton of photos of the process. The photos were nice for me to see the process, but I think will be very valuable when it comes time to sell our RAV, so I can show what happened and how it was repaired. Action also worked directly with my insurer, so I did not have anything to deal with. These folks are VERY good at what they do and they genuinely care about you being happy and taken care of. The repair was done on time and looks perfect!! The entire car was washed and spotless when I picked it up. I cant recommend highly enough!!

The shop does excellent work, but even if the vehicle is totaled and not being repaired Chad will spend his time helping you get the best value for your vehicle. We took our truck there, to be fixed, but ended up being totaled. Our insurance company (Safeco/Liberty Mutual was low balling us on the value. Chad and Michelle helped us with the appeal process and showing the true value of the truck, resulting in the insurance company finally raising the value. We will never go anywhere else for auto body repair!

Action Auto Body, LLC was listed as one of the preferred service vendors for my insurance and they received great reviews so I decided to meet with them and get an estimate after my accident last month. My experience with the estimate process was all that I needed. I knew then that Chad and team were going to take great care of my car. Chad took time to walk me through every step of the process and answered all of the questions that I asked. I’ve never had to bring my car in to an auto body shop so I wasn’t sure what to expect but they made the entire process very easy for me to navigate. This was all happening at the same time as COVID-19 and their team took so many extra precautions to ensure that I would remain safe and that the entire team at the shop would as well. They were able to get me scheduled within a week of the estimate and provided updates throughout the entire process, including sending me pictures and invoices so that I would know what to expect. I was blown away when I was able to pick my car up and see what they had done. It looks better than new! These guys are very talented and everybody was very easy to work with.

Amazing work! I got a deer and now my vehicle looks as good as brand new. There were many obstacles to over come during my repairs, insurance, drecho, and power outages. But they came through and with only a few days delay. Would highly recommend if you want a quality job.

This was the first time I have ever needed to have major repairs done on my vehicle. I had done some Googling to find the best local body shops and every time I looked Action Auto Body was always top of the list. Everyone at Action was so helpful and knowledgable about all the aspects of the process from the insurance to the repairs. They were able to help me whenever I had questions about the process.After my accident, I had set up a couple of different estimate appointments to get a feel for which body shop was right for me. Action Auto Body was my first appointment and I went with my dad and after the process, we walk out and he says I do not think we need to go to any other shops. He is not a man that easily impressed or won over. So I took my business to Action and I was so glad that I did. I got the car back looking brand new as if nothing had happened.When I was picking up the car Chad noticed some possible condensation on the inside of the headlamp and was very concerned that I monitor and let him know if there were any problems. That is because he and the staff are very concerned about getting the job done correctly and making sure the customer is happy. He told me if there were any problems bring it in and they would get it deal with the problem.I was very pleased with the service and repair I received and they have a customer for life!

Was excited about getting my car fixed here after reading reviews and prefer doing business with small, privately owned entities. However, I stopped by and left a message about getting my car repaired. I did get someone when I called again, but estimates are 2 weeks out. Thats a good thing Im sure, but not for those who need repairs and ultimately wouldnt have a car for a month between waiting for an estimate and actual repairs...Again, Im sure they are great, and would take my car here but way difficult to even talk to someone about getting an estimate.

I couldnt be happier with the service I received here! The mechanics, the office people and the owners all happily took their spare time to help. This is my first experience with a totaled vehicle and Chad, the owner, helped me understand all of the steps I could take and all of the alternative options that I had. I will recommend this place to everybody and (hopefully wont have to) will take my next vehicle here!

I was new to Des Moines and had no idea where to go to get my car fixed. Stopped by Action Auto Body just to see if they could solve my problem and when I could schedule an appointment and they helped me right away. Turns out it was a smaller issue than I thought and they came out and fixed it and also took some time to try and help with a different issue. Great service, would recommend to everyone!

The owner & staff @ Action Auto Body are fantastic! The staff is very friendly and helpful from start to finish. I recently had work done for an accident and not only were they extremely detailed in all the steps they would have to take in repairing my car, they walked me through the estimates with time & detail. The car was clean and ready to go when I was scheduled to pick up the car. I even had some questions about sound that was coming from my car after taking it for a test drive, the owner Chad took the car with me and also made sure I felt comfortable with the work and was able to send me on my way. I was surprised by how detailed including the follow up paper work that had pictures of all the work that was completed. I would highly recommend their service!

Chad and his crew did an excellent job on my car. It took a little longer than expected to get my car in for repairs, but I attribute being busy to being good at what you do. My car looked as good when I left AAB as it ever has. Everyone at Action Auto Body was a pleasure to work with and if I ever need body work done again I wont hesitate to return.

I can’t say enough great things about Action Auto Body. We’ve brought in two vehicles for body work & repairs. The repair they did on both the cars was excellent. Chad along with his service & staff members are so incredibly nice. We won’t take our veichles anywhere else for body work or repairs except for here. I brought my 2007 Lexus GX470 in to Chads shop, which I was directed to by State Farm-my auto insurance company-after I hit a deer on I-80. There was significant damage to the front and side of the car. Chad was obviously busy with all the work he has (i.e. a victim of his own success), but he took time with me, was meticulous in analyzing the damage, explained his findings and concerns, and was a class act all around. The car ended up being a total loss, but I was extremely impressed with Chads professionalism and dedication. Apparently, I am not alone. I would not hesitate to come here in the future for auto body work of any kind.
