Went to this place for the first time and really enjoyed it. I noticed some previous reviews talking about service and taste…my experience was the complete opposite (in a good way!). My husband and I stopped in to get some meats for dinner. The staff was extremely helpful and kind and the meats were delicious. We will definitely be back.
This is one of the best meatballs in Denver. I’ll say it! I’ve had issues with stark differences in size of the sandwich in the past. But damn is it good! Also, this place is a great source for local meat at great prices. From chicken to lamb, they got you covered. But the service is another thing. I’ll be taking a break for awhile because the staff make me feel like I’m always bothering them, especially if I order some meat and a sandwich or multiple different cuts. I’ll miss it too as I treated this place like the name: my local butcher.
Brisket sandwich was great! I’m from Texas & I’d say the brisket was just as good as it is back home.
I went today for Lunch. A very poor brisket and dismal brown beans. Previously I would have given the LB 5 on 5. Today the brisket was excessively dry and fatty. The bean recipe has changed to be no better than canned beans. Something significant has changed in the food quality. I have been to the LB about 12 times in the last 6 months. They are unfortunately sliding in quality. I attribute it to staff turnover and a lack of recipe control. Too bad, they were really great.
Even though we had a glitch in our order through GrubHub, they made it right. We had the pulled pork and ribs. Both were super good.
I wanted to like this place, ordered a crown roast of pork and got a mangled mess. If you don’t know how to trim something, simply say you can’t do it.
The brisket, ribs and pulled pork were all amazing but the true star was the baked beans - incredibly flavorful!
Meat never seems to be very fresh or high quality. But they do have a wonderful location inside central market.
Incredible selection, fantastic and friendly staff, best prices in Denver. Our go-to butchery
The Italian beef is fantastic. Coming from someone who has had more of their fair share of Chicago style Italian beef, I must say this stands atop them all. Great flavor, melts in your mouth, fresh bread... all around great sandwich. They were sold out of the brisket so Im hoping to try that too before our trip to Denver is over. Highly recommend!
I picked up a pork tenderloin that is already in the slow cooker. The folks behind the counter were patient and knowledgeable. Great visit.
I had a smattering of several items because I felt like this place was a good bet for bbq connoisseurs. The brisket was some of the best I’ve had. Everything else? Not so much. First, I can’t tell you what the bbq sauce is like because I never got any. The pulled pork was in a ton of water and a soupy base with stewed vegetables. Which grossed me out. The ribs were burnt. We aren’t talking burnt ends, were talking charcoal. Some were not burnt and I could see the beautiful rare perfection they were so close to achieving. But instead they mostly got charcoal. The baked beans were just a personal issue for me, I thought they were vile. But I’m sure my dad would have loved them. My Italian beef sandwich was basically a smoke flavored Sunday roast with lots of vegetables on top. I continue to be unable to find a good Italian beef in Denver.
Had a great selection of meats which are local. There is just something nice about an actual butcher rather than the grocery store. I did have an issue with a special order I placed, but they worked to get it taken care of ASAP.
My first stop for chicken, pork, and beef. They are the best butcher in Denver! Their team is always incredibly helpful and friendly. The meat is always delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced for such high quality.
Great meat selection, great service, good prices.
Incredible selection and really nice staff. They cut up and trimmed some beef femur bones for me as well, which the pups love!
Very knowledgeable and friendly team.
