Most employees and all the butchers not wearing masks. Avoid this place. Whole Foods has better meats and King Soopers the same produce for less — and they all wear masks.

I drove by. The corner of colfax and fairfax. There’s a ... party? An outdoor bbq? A wedding? Couldn’t tell. Pulled over but smelled it first, passion. You can smell passion. You can smell people trying and you can smell in the food from far away when they care. And it smelled goooood. The burgers were sizzling and popping the crowd was laughing people shouting cheese! Duck fat!! fries!!!! Get your drinks inside!!!!!!!!! Inside was the grocery store with a line fifteen people long. The cashier had a smile that would make you happy on Passover. Infectious genuine joy. “You want a burger dontcha I can tell” guess I do I said. “I bet you want pie too. We make our own pie every morning”. You make it? I asked. I was flirting. She knew it. “Well I don’t, but, they do. But just for pretend, yeah I made it it’s amazing want one”. I mean. Yes. Obviously. If a gorgeous girl offers you fresh blueberry pie she pretended to make... anyway I’m outside eating my pie looking at the vegetables and they’re commercial ready. They look unnaturally tomatoey. Like how can this lettuce be this green? Am I on mushrooms? (Not yet) Guy shouts “ERIC! BURGER BACON CHEESE!!!” I was like damn that’s my new last name? I’ll take it. The tables are full so I rest her on the warm hood of my Subaru. (It’s Denver you expected something less?) open her up. Hello Mrs. Hamburger. Bite. Mmmmmm!!!!! buttery sweet goodness on the bun. Like the laugh on that cashier inside. The burger is awesome. Maybe an A. An A to me is shake shack. The ambience makes this an A minus at least. Fries good too. Pie was an after thought I was full. Manager came over and shook my hand told me thanks for coming. A lively genuine dude working the room. Been at it twenty years he tells me. You can tell. Like I said. You can smell passion from down the block. Check it out. Don’t steal the cashier

So I typically enjoy Marczyks. This location though, is really below the bar of standards. Most of staff isn’t friendly at all and seems they look down on customers or have attitudes every time I come here. I do enjoy Marczyks though as they tend to have the best looking meats and good deals when I catch them. I also love the fact that they have some items that can’t be found in other stores which makes them unique. We tried the ice cream though and it was so nasty. It was mint and chip. It had real mint in it which wasn’t that bad but it’ll the inconsistency was horrible and the over all taste was salty. Definitely over priced for nasty ice cream.Anyway, if interested in this store, I recommend you shop at the Denver location near downtown. I believe closest to Park Ave and 17th.

We shop here at least 2-3 times a week, and have done so since they opened up on Colfax. The employees are nice, knowledgeable, and helpful, and generally everything they carry is very high quality. I do have a pet peeve: the sliced breads, such as the “baked fresh daily” “pain au Levine” have been frozen, and are often times 2-4 days old if you go by the dates on the packaging. So much for “fresh bread” being sold at a relatively high price! We have stopped buying our bread here for this reason.

This little grocer is our “go to” when we need dinner inspiration. The guys behind the meat counter are really helpful. The meats are fresh and tasty. There are a good variety of cuts to make a true gourmet dinner. Staff are always happy to help when you need something a little different with a great recommendation. Once you have decided on dinner, don’t forget to pick out a lovely wine to compliment your meal!

An absolutely delightful deli and market. Ive started to get my lunches here and the sandwiches have been absolutely top notch. Service was fast and considerate. If youre looking for lunch near Colfax in eastern Denver, you cant go wrong here.(The price is very reasonable too; $11 for a fresh sandwich vs $8 for something from a fast food place, but easily 100x better and without that post fast food lethargy.)

I love this store but the inventory is often inconsistent on the deli/meat items. It seems that high demand items like the kale salad, cilantro rice, and parm crusted chicken would be standard but I was told to call 24 hrs in advance for them...

I love Marczyks. Shortly after moving to Denver I started shopping here & it instantly became my favorite. They have great quality produce, meats, cheeses, a great bakery & a top notch deli. Its easy to find the things Im looking for & I often end up finding something new that I havent tried before. They always have abundant local options too which is wonderful! I especially love their house brand options, Ive always found it to be excellent quality. The staff is kind & are eager to help you find what youre looking for. Not mention the wine shop has a lot of great wines (and plenty of good selection under $20).

Dec 22, 2020. Ive deleted my previous comment. Marczyk Fine Foods has proven themselves to be a very giving and socially responsible company. After my initial comment, they reached to me 3 times apologizing and wanting to correct my complaint. I suggested a donation to Denver Metro Caring, a local food bank. My assumption of their generosity was totally wrong. They donated a generous sum to Metro Caring in my name. I know of no other company that would go to this length to appease a customer. With small local businesses having a hard time thru this period, they made it right by giving to others. That kindness can never be measured. My family thanks you so much. Will be definitely shopping there again and again.

This morning, I planned on having some groceries for my one week vacation, that’s why I went to this certain grocery store. All of my desired foods, amenities, canned goods, etc. were there. Also, the saleslady was accommodating, hospitable, and polite. She was the person that I am happy to meet with. At this moment, I realized that I was lucky enough to visit that shop today. Keep up the good work. I would come again soon!

We are on our honeymoon in Denver, and happened to stumble across this gem while we were out walking. The sandwich shop is a -must-! The Crescent City is absolutely amazing. The employees are friendly and well trained. We loved it!

I cant say enough good things about this place. The people are awesome. The food is awesome. They have completely upped their game with curbside pickup the past few months. I shop here all the time. Prior to the pandemic, I was here pretty much every day since we decided on dinner the day of. Post-covid, we are planning a little better but are still here once a week or so.

A+ meat department. A- deli sandwiches. C+ for up-charge on items found at Marczyk.I dont mind paying for quality items that I cant find elsewhere, but there are plenty of items distributed into Marczyk that can also be found at Wal-Mart, Target, Sprouts, and others...only at a higher price point for the novelty of shopping in this beautiful space. Some dont mind. I am one whod rather not pay the extra for something I can find down the road.

Customer service could be better! Cashier (tattooed middle- aged women with black long hair down) was not professional, aggressive. My friend had her mask on at all times, it was a little oversized that’s why it was falling of her nose while she was talking but she would fix it right away. We got yelled at in front of other people to leave the store and “never come back”. We asked to talk to manager he didn’t seem to care and he thinks it’s normal for workers of Marczyk to yell at customers. It was stressful to be there and very disappointing.

I have often heard good opinions about Marczyks but had never stopped in. Recently, however, Westword had touted a new brand of Denver-based hot dogs that were only available in a few select locations, and this store was one. I was immediately charmed by the place when I walked in. The items on offer were varied and interesting - and some were a bit rare or hard-to-find. From jars and bottles of imported goodies... to the lovely and bountiful fresh vegetables... to the appealing cuts at the butchers counter, this was clearly a grocery store unlike any other. The products were high-quality, and displayed in an appealing fashion. It was almost like walking into a toy store. So welcoming, so pleasing to the eye! Naturally, I bought a number of things I hadnt even considered before I arrived. Everything I bought there was quickly eaten up at home, and now I need to visit again.

Marczyks is the best for finding specialty items and locally-sourced meats. We head there when making special dinners for our friends and family because everything from their pasta to sausage is high-quality that you can actually taste the difference. They have a small selection of dry goods and interesting snacks. This location is also connected to their liquor store that has nicer wines, beers, and some spirits. While I cant do all my shopping here, I find it a great place to purchase quality items!

This is the store chain I buy my bakery flour from. I had A situation where an employee told me they had my flour in and I drove There and they were out after I had called to check. Manager apologized and promised he would help next time they were in stock. I called Within the week, and was able to get some after the manager agreed to hold some for me as a courtesy due to the mishap. I don’t believe in hoarding so I got My 2 bags and said my Thank you’s. My flour is used regularly and I’m so grateful that Marczyk carries my brand. Love you guys for taking care of me! I, as usual, will be back.

I was given a gift card to the store. My experience was exceptional from the minute I walked in the door. Very cheerful and engaging staff. Unique and special items. Yes, the prices are steep for everyday shopping but, their pantry items and proprietary special items are reasonably priced and excellent!Pete, the owner, helped me select some fabulous olive oils and things that are not available at other markets. Emilio help me at check out and was so charming and personable. I walked out with a big grin on my face. I am thankful for small businesses like this and plan on supporting Marczyk when I can.

The best gluten free bacon egg and cheese sandwich I’ve ever had. The bread tastes like a mix between croissant and bakery bread. Everyone was super welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend.

This little shop is full of gourmet wonders. We stopped in on Christmas Eve to get the ingredients we needed for some impromptu pasta carbonara and everything was in stock and the employees were happy and helpful given the evening rush. I highly recommend you check this place out if you’re looking for amazing ingredients.

The quality of the steaks I received for the amount paid is unforgivable and must be noted. I ordered through instacart so I did not get a chance to view the meat before purchase. Maybe this is their plan, send less quality meat to the lazy schmucks that dont go into the store. I was misled by a beautifully marbled new York strip for $26 a pound on their website. Thats fine, I got a new grill and wanted to break it in right. When my order arrived the new Yorks looked like they came from wal-mart. ZERO MARBLING!, limp and the butchering was sub par at best for a price of $26 a pound! A large piece of tendon/gristle still left on and the ends not trimmed properly. I will give them a chance to make up for this but if not reconciled I will not return nor would I ever recommend anyone else pay the high price for poor quality product.

I never leave reviews but this is not okay. I will not be eating from here again. Ordered sandwiches with my coworkers from the deli. Went out to my car to eat and the first bite I noticed a piece of white hair on the edge of my sandwich, I picked it off and decided it was okay and began to eat it.. Before I got halfway through one half I noticed another piece of long black hair. The ingredients taste good and it looks nice inside. But I can do without the rude customer service and hair in my food.

Lovely gourmet grocery store. Staff are a mixed bag. Some very friendly others super stuck-up. Its a very classy environment. Shopping here will definitely make you feel like a wealthy Congress Park lady. It will absolutely hit your wallet like one. This place is obscenely expensive. Whole Foods looks cheap by comparison. So many stratospheric price points dot the store. If you want to spend $25 on a couple lbs of ground beef or $15 on a jar of pickles than knock yourself out. Otherwise this is just pretentious nonsense.

This establishment used to be full of knowledgeable, kind staff. The prices are steep and the to-go menu has gone down a bit. Definitely not the place it once was.

Love the selection here. The prices are way high, but the food is absolutely delicious. Make sure though if you are buying vegetables you use them within 2 days, they good bad rather quickly. The spicy black eyed pea and ham soup is incredible.

The store and selection is much smaller than I thought it would be upon entering. I would say the meat and cheese is the best part of this store but be prepared with a lot of money. The grocery items are about on par with Cost Plus World Market but twice the price and half the selection. I remember seeing a number of those items at the commissary or BX on base growing up and it seems whoever selects these items just thinks European/foreign=quality. Not so.

In my humble opinion, this is one of the best shops in the city. I come here a minimum of twice a week for a quick deli sandwich (you cant beat em) or ingredients to make my own pizza (house made everything/especially mozzarella). If you havent been here, you dont know Denver.

I was sitting at home last Saturday afternoon trying to catch up on my e-mail and happened to read the latest newsletters from Marczyk which mentioned both a mini blueberry pie that they made in-house plus a market-made butterscotch pudding. That motivated me to scurry over to the store shortly before closing to pick up those two items plus a few other things that caught my eye. The store was very quiet since it was nearly closing time, so the cashier bagged up my items and I headed home. Fortunately I live only six minutes from the store.

Great place to find specialty foods. Its a very cool, hip, and local grocer. They also have a very nice wine shop attached. Everyone is helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. In the summer on Fridays you can get a burger cooked outside and buy a beer in the wine store and eat it in the parking lot, its amazing!

Great local market. It really has everything you need. I would not recommend for a full shop, but if you just needs a few things it is a great option. Try the Friday night burger nights, and the fresh made sandwiches, the Local is my personal favorite.

Worst sandwich ever. Worst attitude by sandwich makers.Burnt baguette and certainly NOT uncured ham. All gristle and veins with black rind. Havarti cheese was not cream color, but yellow.Ankles swelled up in less than 30 minutes because it was NOT uncured ham, but their regular ham loaded with nitrates.Will never go there again.Last time they forgot to put butter on the sandwich and actually lied to me as I waited for it.Time before my sandwich was slathered all over on greasy mayonnaise. Completely inedible.Very unfriendly people working there.

This place has more going for it than it first seems.First, the groceries are /great/. They have enough of the staples you need, exceptional produce and a very good butcher selection, but also very well curated cheeses and crackers.Second, seriously order yourself a sandwich while you’re shopping. I particularly like the Parisian, but I haven’t had a bad sandwich there.Third, it’s the best place for fancy snacks and hors doeuvres.Finally, the service is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful.

This is not a Polish grocer even though google will list it as such. The only Polish product I could find was Kinder chocolate. Otherwise, take the most expensive products from any grocery store and put them in one place. The ambiance is nice. You can certainly feel classy shopping here and thats probably what youre paying for. Its pretty much a mini version of Whole Foods.

My family and I went to Marczyks to grab food for a picnic. We ordered sandwiches at the deli, and I got a bottle of chilled wine. When we were checking out, I told my wife that we needed to stop somewhere to get some ice to keep our wine chilled until we served it. The employee, Alex, heard me and asked how much we needed. He went to the back, filled a small bag with ice, and re-packed our bag so the wine would stay cold. We were very impressed with his going above and beyond to help us, and we had a great picnic as a result.

With Thanksgiving coming soon, I wanted a fresh turkey to cook. So I inquired from this market Marczyk Fine Foods. This was some years back when they first opened. I had heard nothing but good things about the proprietor. Since opening, this market has flourished and become the GO-TO place for food and specialty items in our area. The Turkey turned out wonderful, moist white meat and dark, tasty and not gamey. I love to go in and see what is new there, In the glass front cooler and dry goods as well.

I love every minute of shopping at MARCZYKS. What they offer is terrific and always the best of its kind. I never go there without finding something else to try! Am not looking forward to ice cold weather when Friday nite burgers are not available. The food and the fun in the parking lot are just the best part of a week!

The lines move quickly, so its not a big deal if the person in front of me has a lot of stuff.

Caters to very high end customers, but the quality of products isnt close to impeccable. Got aged rib eye $22/lb and it was unfortunately mostly fat. If your butcher made a poor purchasing decision, dont pass it off onto your customer, create prepared foods with it or something. Bagged greens beans, 2lb/$8 and almost all were wilted, off colored, and smelled like they were rotting. Never shouldve been sold past their prime. $60+ of $100+ tested and so far, not looking promising. Will be going to Whole Foods instead from now on. Their fresh bread is good too and cheaper I might add!

Excellent alternative to whole foods. Their chicken is about the best chicken I have ever tasted. Nice selection however it can be limited at times.

Best bread I have found in Denver. They also have a great cheese selection. I wish the staff was better however all and all I enjoy shopping at Marczyk.

This is a great place to get your grocery shopping done its got everything you need with amazing prices and fast service. However the produce section needs more stocking and watch your car in their parking lot people love to hit your car and leave the scene of the crime.

So I dont regularly shop here, and by regularly I mean ever. That being said, I occasionally side hustle for a sort of grocery courier service that will remain unnamed. I came in on a Thursday afternoon/evening and was shopping for ~20 items for a customer. Since Im not familiar with the store and its layout, I think I was looking a little dazed. A young lady helped me locate a specific type of pasta, but then I was back to wandering around aimlessly looking for a certain type of tortilla. Thats when he appeared. To be honest, I have no idea which of the Marczyks it was, (are they twins?) but one of the owners saw my obvious confusion, asked what items I needed, and then just grabbed my phone and did it all for me. This shopping trip required trips to both the meat and deli counters and he just shouted the orders to the employees and kept moving. He was kind, funny, and honestly just made my life so much easier that day. I also think theres something to be said for him treating me with respect and special attention despite my not being a real customer. Say what you will about their prices, but Ive never walked into a King Sooper and had someone do my shopping for me. Just sayin.

I enjoy shopping at Marczyk however, like another review mentioned, the staff at the Colfax location could use some work and maybe some training in customer service. As someone that shops there almost weekly, I find most of the staff there to be rude and condescending. One time I was even reprimanded for putting my items on the wrong side of the register; this was the same week that another staff member asked if the friend I was with was pregnant...and she wasnt...not even a little bit. I dont get it. I should probably stop shopping there.

I am a long time customer of Marczyks on Coflax, and mostly my experiences have been excellent. Recently, on two occasions, the chicken I bought smelled strongly of sulfer/eggs, which I understand is a symptom of salmonella. The first time I assumed was a fluke so I did nothing, The second time, I called to complain. I was told I could bring the tainted chicken back in to swap it for something else. I expected at least an apology, and hopefully some indication that they would look into the issue. I got neither. Not coming back.
