If you just want a haircut, beard trim or any other service I suggest you go to some corporate barber shop, and pray you get a little more than you paid for. If you are looking for a shop to go to to treat yourself because you work hard, and take pride in your appearance and are looking for an experience over service, then this is the place! This shop carries their own line of grooming products that are natural, organic, cruelty free and work and smell amazing! Every treatment or experience involves the use of their amazing products! Theres actually a shampoo room where you can get your hair washed with cool lighting on the wall, and a bar where you can sample their product line, or even drink a beer while you wait! They even have a sign in the shop that says Instant Confidence and its true, because I feel like a new confident man every time I leave this place!

I am a barber and had the pleasure of meeting Jacob. Their all natural, FDA approved Colorado made product line is what drew me into the shop as I am looking for a reputable product line to use in my barber shop. I have never heard of this gem of a company until I stumbled upon it today. Jacob is very knowledgeable about his products and what is in them. They have a HUGE variety to cater to all needs. I cannot to try every single product, but am pleased with the items Ive tried so far.

So heres the deal -- Ive waited 4 weeks to write this because, most barbers can make you look good immediately after a haircut -- but few have the ability to shape your hair in such a way that even a month after the cut you still look like A MILLION BUCKS!This place was absolutely fantastic - the atmosphere was amazing and everyone was having a good time! This place is the real thing. It has a relaxed cozy environment and the barbers are super professional. I loved my experience there - it was seriously like a male spa day kind of thing. My head looked so good when I left, that when I went home, I changed clothes into something nicer. That haircut deserved a gentlemans look all over.

This place is the best in denver. I saw Josh and he provided the cleanest cut and beard trim I have had and paid attention to every small detail. The shop itself is awesome and the owner Jacob takes pride in the shop and their awesome line of beard and hair products. They are all natural and work great for me as I have extremely sensitive skin. Walked in with 8 inch hair and stubble and just let Josh pick a style he thought would look good and a straight razor shave. Never understood my GF taking 4+ hours on her hair but after 6 hot towels and a straight razor shave with all the skin oils that are made in house, for a full service Josh took his time and it shows. Took 2 hours but guys I will say the next time my GF does her hair I will just schedule one for myself here again have a few beers before at the brewery then sit back relax and come out looking younger.

Visited the lounge today, and Im so glad I did! The ambiance is laid back yet elegant, and Jake was so knowledgeable about all his True Grit skin care and beard products. He answered all my questions and was more than happy to do so! Highly recommend.

I only stopped in to take a look at their shave soap products. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Purchased their Ace of Spades shave soap. Just used it for the first time. Good lather and a GREAT scent. They have other fragrances and products as well, all made in Colorado. Dont know if Ill be in for a haircut as I likely wont cheat on my current barber. But the gentleman that was in the barbers chair looked like he was being well taken care of. Ill be back for sure, if only to try some of their other products. Love to support independent local businesses.

I went to True Grit looking to donate 8in of hair, have my hair styled, and get a beard trim. Shelbi took great care of me!I left True Grit feeling confident and pleased with my new look. The complete treatment of washing the hair, styling the hair, trimming the beard, and throughly treating the beard with butter and oil was the real deal. The natural products are effective and smell wonderful, so I left with a bottle of body wash, beard butter, beard oil, and a bar of soap.Jake was really knowledgeable and allowed me to sample a few products. His help definitely made it easier to make a decision on what products to buy.I truly enjoyed my experience and would definitley recommend. I will be back soon.

I’ve had the luxury of trying out several of True Grit’s beard oil products and I must say that each one is more impressive than the next. There is an enormous difference when I have the product in my beard both from an appearance and a feel standpoint. My personal favorites are 8 gauge and pine breeze, and if you’re not a fan of scented oils, they offer an unscented oil as well. I don’t leave home without it!

My husband bought the peppermint & tea tree beard cleanser late last year and loved it. When he ran out a couple months ago he kept commenting on how his beard wasnt as soft and didnt look as nice, so I ordered him some more, much to his delight. Great product all around.

Im 68 years old and I remember the good old days of shaving. I would watch my dad lather up his boar brush as a kid and think how cool it looked and how I couldnt wait to grow a beard and start shaving. By the time I was able to shave I was already on the other side of the world fighting in Vietnam. I came home and started in the Union. I woke up early and came home late and never took the time to treat myself to a nice shave. Now that Im retired I do have that time and I do enjoy treating myself right with a proper shave. I have tried a lot of different shave soaps and oils and have found True Grit products to be the best. I love the fragrance, the glide, and how they dont have all the chemicals that the majority of other shave products do. The name and packaging is pretty cool too. It keeps my face soft and smelling great. I recommend these soaps and oils (Ive used them all) to anyone who like a good old fashion shave.

I have bought soap, brush and oil. This product has fix my beard from being dry or even out of control. which awesome to have this product make the adjust to have healthy beard. Im halfway through a bar of the Outlaw soap.I like the clean feeling without there being a layer of film like you get from other soaps. The aroma is nice and manly without being overpowering (I feel that its good for me and one other person who happens to be really close ;)) which is really surprising considering its got peppermint and tea tree oil.Would I buy this soap again?... Yes I would!

I love these products! I use the Pirates Rum Shave Soap. It has been a lifesaver for my skin care routine. Not only does it help with unwanted razor burn but it has simultaneously cleared 95% of my skin condition called keratosis pilaris. Its hydrating and has a pleasant light scent. Sensitive skin approved for sure. All their ingredients are natural and thats all my number one thing I look for in skin care products.

Lucky, the owner, was at the Avalanche Harley grand opening, and Id heard great things about his products. He had sample bottles, so i tried the 8 Gauge oil. I bought that, some shave oil and shave soap for my scalp. As soon as i got home i gave it all a try. Its amazing. Plain and simple. Ive used numerous shaving and beard care goos, but nothing on this level of manly-awesome. Soft and smooth... Like a manly man!

I have used a hand full of different beard care products before, so when I first met Jacob, I figured theyd be like the others. I was happily mistaken. Lets start with the mustache wax. Other guys with handle bar mustaches would agree to some extent with what Im about to say. With most waxes out there, you either get extreme hold, with a wax that you have to loosen with a lighter, and apply quickly. If you get the wax in on time, and form it quickly, you are good. But thats like a 15 second process. Any later, you face wax beads in your stache. the other side of that is a wax thats super easy to apply, and has a good time of about 10 minutes. Not even worth your time and money. I am really happy to say that I found a wax, through true grit that offers the best of both worlds. Not only was it very easy to apply, no lighters, no hair dryers, no scraping tools, NO PULLING, and no wax beads. But it held all day. I am on my 12th hour with the wax in and it still looks like I put it in 10 minutes ago. Amazing product.Now onto the oil and balm. Ive had some bad experiences with balms before. After applying, the last beard balm I tried left my beard feeling like I used pomade. Crunchy..... not good. The True grit oil and balm (I have the 8 gauge scent) smell great. The oil helped my face feel nice and moisturized (pretty hard to do in such an arid place like lower CO.) and the balm maintained a nice shape to my beard while staying nice and soft. I have a very curly beard, and the fact that this product kept my beard looking nice and professional, rather than an upside down afro is an awesome thing.Overall, my experiences with both the owners, and products made by True Grit have been outstanding. They have truly EARNED a loyal customer in me, and I hope their brand expands well past their expectations.
