I LOVE this antique shop! I visited a couple years ago while visiting my son in Denver. The owners visit relatives in Germany and bring back their wares so I assure you their items are 100% authentic. I take my time and love to browse so I didnโt make it to very many shops in the time I had. I found this one to be very whimsical due to the unique character of all their items. The man was at the shop that day and chatted for a bit before letting me browse. He loves his wife and shared with me their sweet story of how they met and got married. I hope their shop is still open when I visit again! Iโll be so sad if they close. ๐ข Treat people kindly, and they will be kind to you is all I have to say to the bad reviewers. Please keep in mind that you only hear one side of the story when people post bad reviews. ๐คจ
Amazing, historical store with genuine and kind (yet Germanic!) owners. Very sweet people, but operate on respect - very traditional owners and store. Truly a one of a kind place, worth the visit.
Such a lovely little store with such character in all of their items, every antique has a story in this shop. I love how the owners go to Germany for their items, everything is authentic and well preserved. A great place to buy unique and lovely gifts.
This is a fun place to visit, especially if you enjoy German antiques and bibelots. The owner was very nice, she even offered me her magnifying glass to look at some small collectable spoons. It is the small things like that which keep me coming back.
Brandon was great. Very helpful. Very nice little store
One summertime, I have visited this antiques store in broadway and I had a bad experience. I made a price inquiry about an antique painted German clock with this old German woman and then I came back the next day and the price went up three times the original price. She has a very unlikeable personality. You wonโt feel the presence of a positive energy. It was a disappointment. I never came back.
The owner is such a wonderful lady with many great stories. There are very intriguing items in the store, all authentic antiques. This is a niche shop for things of the European/German variety.
Worst experience Ive ever had at an antique store! My mom and I asked the woman (after she asked if we had any questions) if this dough bowl was authentic (its very difficult to tell nowadays with the great replicas put out there due to the resurgence in interest in these farmhouse decorations). She got so defensive and rude immediately...you think what I sell isnt authentic? You cant tell this is real wood? I have never had anyone ask me such a question! We tried to explain our reason for asking and she just kept interrupting and being rude and disrespectful. I can look past a little of it given the German heritage but she just kept going. She said my husband was a surgeon so I dont need to do this for money. I do it for fun. Guess what...we go antiquing for fun, too, not to be berated by store owners! Most store owners enjoy engaging with customers or helping enlighten them on the history of things or what to look for, etc. Not her. She then said she wouldnt sell it to us even if we wanted to buy it. Wow. With service like that I can see why she is closing up shop.
I loved the gentleman working there. We spoke for about 20 min and he was very nice. And when you go looking for antiques you expect things not to smell new...I read the other review and it irritates me that someone would say that about an antique store. They are so nice. I will be back.
Good quality. Good people!! The lady that owns it gave my daughters 2 cute little dolls after I made some great purchases there!!
Beautiful antique store. Lovely owners. Always helpful.
I have worked with Heidelberg Antiques. First, the owners are German. They will naturally seem a bit more abrasive to the average American. Second, the old people smell is a mix of wood cleaners, polishers, and waxes to keep the wooden antiques fresh and clean. They also use an aromatic Lavender potpourri to keep the store smelling wonderful. Third, this is an antique shop on Antique Row, not a marijuana dispensary on the so called Green Mile. The proliferation of stereotypical marijuana users in this area has contributed to increased theft. The owners are very protective of their store. The negative comments about the store are an empty, unsupported passive aggressive display of the typical Green Mile customer, not a typical Antique Row client. The owners of Heidelberg Antiques are some of the most gracious and considerate people Ive met, but they will give it to you straight.
Nice mix of European Antiques but owner was rude and disrespectful to me during my visit. There are much friendlier antique shops just across the street
Both the owners are the nicest people and have been very helpful with ALL my purchases.
Nice German imports.
Bad service, rude, smells like old people, not where I plan on spending my money.
Owners are racist
Worst shop on the green mile.
