Gallagher Books has expanded since I last visited, some time ago. It’s friendly and fun bookshop. The aisles are close together, but well-lit. The collection is primarily nonfiction books about history, exploration, the West, trains, and so forth... but not entirely. There is a strong fiction section, some interesting poetry books, a few picture books and a few science fiction hardcovers. There are no paperbacks. There are a lot of folio editions, sets of classics, and older multivolume series. There are some wonderful and very high-priced volumes behind the glass doors of certain book cases and the front desk area. These are primarily first editions and autographed volumes. Quite expensive, but worth the cost - to the right readers, that is.Oh, and there was a cute little white dog, too. Not sure if he is a staff member or not, but he definitely displayed a proprietary attitude.

My daughters favorite shop, whenever we stop its at least an hour before we can drag her out. The owners are the greatest at fostering a childs love of literature. Get on the email list and you will be pleasantly surprised by occasional emails on important events. These guys have an amazing collection and a depth of knowledge unrivaled in the Denver area.

This place is absolutely horrible, I tried to go in and sell some books that are fairly old and slightly valuable. The owner simply said that they only buy books on the first weekend of the month and they only accept hard cover books from before the 1700s and handed me a card reccomending I try to sell them online. Needless to say I will not be going back here to purchase any books nor would I recommend here. Try anywhere else.

This place has a lot of pretty hardcover books you wont find in many used book stores but it has a lot of normal books too. It seemed like a great place, but I found the prices on the normal books to be too high for being used and yellowed. I found many of the same books cheaper at another store just a couple doors down. The guy who was running the store was very nice and helpful.

Gallagher Books has the most comprehensive inventory of high-quality used, rare, and out- of-print books in the Denver area. It is a treat to browse their wonderful books. And the staff couldnt be more helpful.

This locally owned Denver bookshop is a gem. It’s full of interesting, unique, rare, and out-of-print books. The aisles are easy to walk, and there’s a generous selection of books. It’s a lovely shop. I recommend going.
