My son-in-law and I decided to try Kiteboarding, and were very fortunate to get Tom to instruct us. Our introductory lesson was terrific, covering all the basics of wind, waves and safety. Tom welcomed us to the sport, despite our combined ages adding up to 135 years. He was friendly, supportive, encouraging and put safety first. We cant wait for more lessons and are confident we can Kiteboard successfully with Toms guidance.
Great place to learn Kiteboardimg, love Delray Beach it’s beautiful location safe, wind is usually onshore /N.E. great for a beach launch . Everyone I talked to around there about Kiteboardimg, some safety concerns or tips ect . where very kind and helpful.
Tom is the real deal. He has decades of experience and is a great teacher and all around guy. Being brand new to the sport he was patient with me and took the time to properly review the overlooked aspects of the such as setting up a kite, kite language, and safty info. We began with the importance of observing our surroundings and the wind, followed by flying a trainer kite. We then used a smaller normal kite walking up and down the beach practicing drills; the whole time I felt in safe and in-control thanks to the progressive steps we took. After two lessons with Tom I purchased a gear and have been comfortably practicing on my own. I look forward to getting in the water for our next lesson! 🪁 🪁 🪁
Tom is a an excellent Kiteboard instructor and a great guy. If you are looking to get into kiteboarding and you don’t know where to start, look no further. My Dad and I have taken 4 hours of lessons with Delray Kiteboarding and are feeling very comfortable flying the kite (of course we plan on continuing to take more lessons). Do not feel intimidated. Tom makes the whole process safe and easy. Also, this sport is probably the coolest thing you can do in South Florida. Don’t wait, call Tom and get started!
Tom is awesome. Great knowledgeable guy, and so happy to help and share his experiences. His only focus is on helping you and making sure you have a good time. My kite bar failed (aka user error), and he totally hooked me up. He is generous with his time and support. He has a great spot on the beach. Enjoy!
If you think this sport looks cool from the beach the only way in is to let Tom guide you methodically through the steps. I am over 50 and Tom is ensuring a complete understanding of the equipment, kite control and safety procedures before entering the water. Tom is the best, impossible not to like him and trust him.
I just had my first lesson with Tom and it was so awesome! We covered a lot in a short amount of time and I never felt rushed or frustrated. He made it fun which helped me relax and enjoy the process. I also appreciate his attention to safety! Excited to keep going and continue with the sport!
Awesome experience with great instruction! Went through wind and aerodynamic theory to understand how to fly the kites, felt comfortable each step of the way as I progressed up in kite size. Was ready to go after day one and commit to the sport. Tom is the man, if you are anywhere near Delray, this is the place to go!
I was a bit apprehensive on picking up the sport because I am over 40 and a bit clumsy. Tom reassured me with his knowledge and patience. He focused a lot on safety, learning the equipment and what to do when things dont go your way. I was happily flying different types and sizes of kites and was surprised that I could do it on my first lesson. Looking forward to a lifetime of enjoyment in the water and flying my worries away.
Wow what a great group of guys and gals. They are awesome and pretty good teachers to boot. I was really scared at first but they walked me through everything at my pace. I felt very comfortable and learned a lot. If you are thinking about learning to kiteboarding I would give them a shout. They have the experience and knowledge to get you to your goals. And not to hard to look at. Delray Beach Kiteboarding has an awesome beach right next to the Seagate hotel. Its on the south end of Delray beach just off of Casuarina rd to the south. Tom is a terrific teacher. Good sense of humor. I have had 3 lessons( 4 1/2 hrs total), all on the beach.Hopefully one more beach lesson with large kite before getting wet. Can’t wait.Fair pricing, you get what you pay for, quality.I highly recommend Tom !
Took a 2 hours Lesson with Tom as a refresher being that I haven’t kite surfed in a few years. He was AWESOME ! Really hammered home safety, and procedure, and was a super nice guy. Lots of space, warm water, great environment to learn. Booking more lessons ASAP ! Thanks for everything Tom, had a blast.

I contacted Delray Beach Kitesurfing after looking at other instructors all over the east coast. Tom was friendly and responsive. I’ve had 5 lessons with Tom he is friendly, knowledgeable and patient. Most of all he takes his time and really focuses on learning the proper safe techniques. He is constantly reinforcing safety so you can learn and have fun but do it safely. He even helped me order my own gear. I’d highly recommend calling him for lessons. Just as a point of reference I’m 49 so it is never to late to learn and it’s a blast
Highly recommend it. My girlfriend and I took (I’m a beginner with zero experience and her with more experience) lessons from Tom yesterday. After being in contact with him for the past two weeks, until conditions were just right. Tom has the patience and took the time to explain everything, really relaxing on his teaching methods and attention to every detail made the experience enjoyable. I went from a trainer to a 9 meter in just a couple of hours and a break in between. I am definitely going back and to get more practice to keep going.
Tom is an incredible instructor and personable at the same time. He takes the time to go through all the equipment step by step and highlights every safety feature. If you want to learn to kiteboard he is your guy.

These guys are awesome they taught me how to kite board in less than 10 hours and I was out there riding I couldnt believe it was the most fun ever had in my life. I cant wait to get out there! If you are interested in doing kite boarding I highly recommend Delray Beach Kiteboarding.
I took some lessons with Tom during my holiday. I had never flown a kite before and over the course of a week I was able to stand on the board. Kite isnt something you can learn by yourself and I dont think it would be safe to get on the water without lessons.Tom is very knowledgeable and he has made the learning process very enjoyable. I am totally hooked to the sport.I would take more lessons with Tom the next time Im here.

Great quality lesson for the price! Would certainly do it again. No jet ski or boat or helmet communication, but realized through the very professional instruction that none of it was needed at all and advanced very quickly. I can certainly recommend delrey Kiteboarding since when youre out by yourself you dont have a boat or helmet com either and this way youll get more confidence quickly

Would not recommend. I did not have a good experience with Delray Beach Kiteboarding. The instructor Thomas was nice enough, but I don’t think he is an effective teacher. I spent nearly $1,000 and did 8hrs of lessons with this instructor but never got in the water to do body drags or progress further. I felt that his lessons were long, costly and I didn’t learn much skills from them. It felt like the instructor was dragging out the lessons to run up costs. It makes sense to adjust the lesson for each student’s needs, but we would do the same thing over and he would not provide any new guidance on how to fix the issues I was having. He just yelled a bunch and told me I was doing it wrong but not how to fix the problem. Also, the instructor tried to force me in to giving him a 5-star review. In my experience 5-star reviews are earned, not commanded. I went with a different kiteboarding lesson instructor and had a much better experience. Delray beach kiteboarding is knowledgeable and will teach how to kiteboard, but I didn’t feel the instructor was responsive to the students needs and the cost was much higher than anticipated. Not a great value for someone trying to learn and get in to the sport.

Ive grown up here and known Tom my entire life and can attest to his ability, professionalism, and enthusiasm on teaching newcomers how to kite. Ive been fortunate enough to travel to destinations all over the world to kiteboard and surf and theres no place Id rather kite than back home in Delray Beach with Tom and the rest of the gang!
