I have always loved Way Beyond Bagels. I had been a loyal customer from 2002 - 2016, but the past 5 years dont find myself in the vicinity. I strongly recommend their toasted everything, egg onion or plain bagels with cream cheese, nova, tomato, onion, or their egg salad, shrimp salad, whitefish salad, and their muffins. Their custom made salads for lunch were so tasty and fresh. Nice staff and fast service. They are still the best around and are greatly missed...

I had begun to be a regular customer. My first visit I was pleasantly surprised at the kindness one the man & woman behind the counter. The woman even told me to remind her that I was a teacher next time so she could give me a discount. I thought that was so kind that I began to make this my regular morning spot. TODAY, however, I met the owner and I found her so incredibly rude that I will not be returning. She was condescending of my profession and stated that in order for her to give discounts to my school’s teachers, my school had to do something for her (apparently educating children is not enough) She then condescending said “There’s your discount, teach them well, I did it for 30 years.” her rudeness left a bad taste in my mouth. I did not deserve such treatment from someone who should know how incredibly hard we work for the community every day. I was not looking for any special treatment. I just doing as previously instructed. I will not be returning and will not encourage anyone else to. It is a shame because her employees are lovely and I feel unwittingly repaid there kindness by getting them in trouble.

Its hit or miss on the quality of their bagels. I dont patronize the Delray store on jog Road anymore because their attitude toward customers is not good. The mail cashier doesnt smile and treats those he doesnt know standoffishly. His attitude pretty much sucks. For these reasons, I will not patronize that particular store.

I said good morning and that’s all she replies back. No “hi how can I help you?” Just walks past me and proceeds to check someone else out. Like really? What kind of customer service is this? Very disorganized for the take out order process. You walk in and see a deli counter on the left and a cashier on the right.I stood in line as did others at the other patrons at the cashiers station only to be told once we got to the register that we had to place our orders at the deli counter! Not only did people have to needlessly wait in line again but lost their place in line, including myself! After you place your order, (the lady who helped me was a total sweetheart) you stand waiting around not knowing where to pay, what to pay.Everyone is standing around not knowing what to do either. Totally ridiculous from an operational standpoint.I expressed my complaint to management and they simply stated they were short staffed and its confusing the first time. No, I disagree. Going out to a restaurant should entail good customer service and a customer should NEVER have to guess where they have to go to get a bite to eat.Why cant they just put some directional signs out??? Unbelievable. The food however was good but I will never come back again just because they dont have it together and I dont have time to be confused and in disorganized chaos.

Bagels are good, usually get a dozen every couple weeks along with some of their appetizing. The low fat salads are what we enjoy. I highly recommend the low fat chicken salad, low fat tuna salad and the chopped egg white salad. As far as bagels are a concern, they are as close to a true NYC bagel as youre gonna get in FL. The biggest drawback of this joint is the price of their food, definitely on the higher end... A dozen bagels is $13 and a pound of tuna / chicken salad gets very close to $16. Thats a bit over the top if you ask my opinion, but my family likes it so I buy it. Probably the same for all the other suckers out there who can open a can of tuna, mix in some celery, add mayo and voila - tuna salad for $3.

I usually end up at this place about once a year and always regret my decision afterwards. First of all, the menu and prices online dont correspond with real life. I dont know if this is just negligence or on purpose, but things always cost a lot more when checking out. Its hard to verify since they dont tend to give detailed receipts, I suspect on purpose. For example the sandwich I ordered is $8.25 online and they charged me $11.95. Ordered a salad which was $9.95 and they charged $11.95.The ordering system is a mess. You wait in somewhat of a line and eventually, hopefully a staff person will help you. If you have 4 people in your party they will all have to deal with that 1 staff person. After your order is taken you just kinda stand around not knowing whats happening. During my last visit I ordered 2 cold sandwiches and 2 salads. While waiting, we saw the entire line from behind us get their food, check out and leave. The girl we dealt with was working in slow motion and it took over 10 minutes to get our order.By late afternoon I understand they will be out of some bagels, but they were out of any decent flavors. They were out of mustard! What kind of deli / sandwich shop can run out of mustard? They ran out of straws. It seems like they ran out of everything I wanted. The dining room is a separate room with a few booths. The room was disgusting. The tables were dirty, the seats were dirty, the floor was dirty. The message I got from the dining room is we dont care about our customers experience The room was also a storage room apparently because it will full of cardboard boxes of cups and to go containers strewn about. The wall lights were falling down, they put notes on the lights asking you not to touch them instead of just fixing or replacing them. The walls were even dirty! The dining room was a mess and no different than a year ago when I last saw it.Overall the staff were friendly, this time. Sometimes they have more of an attitude. The food was just okay. The prices are high and inconsistent. The service is extremely slow and the place is not overly clean. There are plenty of other choices in the area I will not be back to Way Beyond Bagels.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!We have been regulars at Way Beyond Bagels for a number of years and I previously had a 5 star review that raved about this bagel shop. The bagels are good here but the service has become unacceptably poor. My decision to change my review comes after an incident at the store that left my wife and I literally shaking we were so upset. We were there this morning and waited through the lines due to limitations on the number of people allowed in the store.(COVID) When our time came to enter my wife was invited in. We told the gentleman at the door we are together and would wait for another person to leave so we can order together. The man was rude, pushy and aggressive to my wife and told her to enter without me. We asked again to wait to go in as a family. The man become agitated and yelled at us. He then said he would allow the person behind us to enter if one of us would not enter without the other. We again said that we would wait for someone else to exit to order together. From this point it went downhill. My wife stepped away since he was so aggressive. I waited as best I could under the circumstances and the guy behind me clearly saw the situation and declined to go in front of us. (kudos to him) When the next person left and I entered we ordered and asked to speak the the manager. We were asked 3 times are you sure you want to do that?. When we learned who the manager is we realized she has seen the whole incident an not stepped in. It was made very clear that they had no interest in changing the situation.I am a small business owner. I understand the plight of small businesses during these challenging time. The does not change the fact that small businesses need to treat their customers correctly. No business should allow their employees to separate families. Even more importantly they should not allow the employees to yell at or threaten customers. Most importantly, a small business should resolve such issue when they do happen. (nobody can have perfect employees all the time)I now understand the other bad reviews for Way Beyond. I hope that the manager/owner will find their way and and find a way to refocus on the customer. In the meantime our family will be getting our bagels somewhere else. Here is my previous review....Best bagels around. This is a real New York style bagel shop with excellent bagels as well as a limited deli and pastries. Always top notch food and staff that remembers your name.Note some poor reviews complain about the wait. You will wait 15 minutes on weekend mornings. It’s with the wait and the wait is because they are the best bagels in town!

I have never been so offended by the way this stores so called manager treated me when I called them to clarify an overcharge by their website when I placed my first time order. Their own site states the bagel prices are .73 cents and you get 6 free with their bakers dozen special during their promotional hours making this an 18 bagel order. You also if you are a first time buyer and join their site get an additional 20% off this stated price. After placing my order I realized I was not receiving the correct amount so I simply called them up to fix this obvious error. The person who answered the phone in a condescending voice started telling me I was wrong, the bagel prices werent 73 cents but well over one dollar each and I was getting the correct price. I tried explaining this cannot be true as if anyone simple does the math, 13 bagels at 73 cents does not come out to 13 dollars after 20% discount and he got even more angry and started actually yelling at me over the phone. CAN YOU IMAGINE AN EMPLOYEE YELLING AT A CUSTOMER OVER A STORES ERROR TRYING TO BLAME THIS ON THE CUSTOMER??? I was so upset I hung up the phone. I called back a few minutes later to ask for the stores manager and that same rude obnoxious person answered the phone. I asked to speak to his manager and he said he was the manager and started yelling at me over the phone again. I told him to cancel my order and credit my credit card used to place said order and asked for his corporate office number so I could lodge a complaint against this store in how I was treated and overcharged and this self proclaimed manager stated there is NO corporate office. I cannot imagine that this is the top of the food chain and this is the top employee at this bagel joint as if this is as how they treat their customers trying to cheat, lie and than scream at them, there is definitely something very very wrong going on there and I would STRONGLY SUGGEST avoiding this establishment at all costs.

Way beyond bagels is one of the few locations that have very good bagels in the area. It’s been my experience thaT I need to go in the early morning to get the freshest in all variety. In the early morning the assortment is bigger, and fresh. Later in the day some of the less popular, are sold out or several hours old. They make an excellent bagel with cream cheese and Lox (nova if you want). They has a daily (Week Days) special of a bakers dozen +3 of bagels for 14.99. The man behind the counter may not have understood what this means. A bakers dozen is a count of 13. He told me the offer is equal to 15 bagels. I explained to him how the offer certainly equals a total of 16, Bakers Dozen + 3 = 16. He didn’t argue and gave me the extra. He then said I was the first one to question this since they started the offer. I guess this mans lots of people have been shorted one. This is not a complaint, more you should know this in advance in case your shorted. I ordered a Lox + Cream Cheese but when I got home I discovered it was “Nova”. I just sprinkled a little salt and the sandwich was great. The Nova on a bagel with cream cheese, lettuce, tomato was around 12.00 almost as much as the bagels but was fresh and delicious and the price expected for Lox.In the mornings they are very busy with sandwich and coffee crowds. The best time to get very fresh bagels is early in the morning. Everything in the deli case is fresh and delicious. A bakers dozen plus three is available weekdays, same price less extras on Saturday and Sunday. There is an area out of doors with tables which are available on a fiat come first we’ve basis. They do not have a wait staff but you carry your meals outside. It’s best to come with someone else that can hold a table while you go and get what ever your having.Parking: is difficult! This is where they lost a star. It’s outside their control but part of the experience. The spots that come available are small so getting out can be a challenge without hitting the door on someone else’s. It is not unusual not being the only one circling to grab the next spot as this is a very busy shopping center. If you can walk a bit, it’s much better to park further down or even on the side, you might have to walk but it’s less stressful. Unless you still live in the North East, slow down, relax, they won’t run out of it takes a few more minutes getting inside. It’s the people who push, shove, honk, yell get angry who make parking here ALL the worse. Stay home if this is you, nobody wants or cares about people like you. :-p

Great place, best bagels in the area, and usually (only once that we went did they not have it) at least 1 tofu spread for you vegans, as well as handmade cream cheese and other foods. You get in line (1 line for everything), order, wait, they bring it out, you pay for it once you have everything (order coffee at the register), and sit down and eat, or take it to go. Even during season, if you see a line out the door, there may still be seating inside, because it seems like most of their business is takeaway. Excellent coffee, btw, but no almond or soy creamer, oddly, for the vegans. Imo, better coffee than Starbucks, which is next door. They do also have sandwiches or prepared cold food.

Great selection of appetizers and BAGELS. The store MUST improve customer flow.Whether you desire selections made for you, or solely need one dozen bagels, the customer is (asked) to wait on the same line.Perhaps, no definitely; enhanced flow and reduced waiting times may occur if the SHOPPE would allow those seeking just bagels, located at the rear of the store to proceed to the area where the bagels may be purchased.Recently witnessed, were varying reactions of customers; specifically verbal complaints to OTHER CUSTOMERS, regarding the above described inconvenience, as well as customers unable to wait for the extended time, decide to leave the store, and (assume) make their purchases elsewhere. It needs to be fixed. No store can afford to lose customers, especially if the problem is repairable and this problem has been shared previously, without improvement.
