I am new to this area and wanted to find a local salon for my hair services. This salon is only .5 miles from my house so I chose it for its location and excellent reviews. It was a huge disappointment and a rather expensive one too. I was quoted a price when I booked and I specifically restated the quoted price to make sure we were clear on what she had said. After the full head of highlights was done (yellow and brassy with 1” roots on top-especially after discussing I had wanted to transition into my natural gray)the price was then $35 more than her original quote when I was asked to pay. She blamed it on her accent. Not true, as I purposely restated the original quote to make sure I had understood. When she tried to make good on the error the owner of the salon refused to honor the quoted price. My hair looked like it had been highlighted weeks ago with an inch of roots grown out on top. When I got home my husband told me my hair looked better before I went to the salon. Truth! Not fabricated exaggeration. $250 dollars out of my pocket and far from what I had asked and paid for. I went to Sally Beauty and (as recommended by the sales associate) purchased a Wella toner 018 and had to fix my own hair. And, btw, it looks so much better than the hair color that I left with from that salon.Perhaps they are better at their other services offered but I will not return. They charged a premium price for less than premium service and results. A very disappointing experience.SUNY did my hair. Celia, I tried to get an appointment with you since all the reviews praise your work but SUNY booked me with her. She was very nice but I was not happy with the results. I WAS there for 4+ hours. That is my maiden name listed on review.

CELIA is AMAZING! I have super curly hair and Celia does the best, most perfect Brazilian Keratin treatment for me about every 5 months. I get so much compliments when she does my hair. She is so kind and makes sure you are super comfortable in her salon- there are chargers and televisions everywhere. The Brazilian does not smell and does not damage my hair- in fact- she makes it softer and better. I now live in New York City and make sure I come to Celia because I do not trust anybody else with my hair.

Celia is one of the kindest people I met in my life! She is very talented and I have never been happier leaving a salon in my life. I went to cut my hair and get a balayage, but I was a bit worried that she would cut my hair too short or the color won’t be nice because of previous experiences I’ve had at other salons. But after I showed her a few pictures of the hair color I liked and explained to her what I was going for, she assured me and worked for more than three hours treating my hair, cutting it, coloring it, and blow drying it. I am very grateful I came across this place and will always get my hair done here! I definitely definitely definitely recommend this place!!Thank you Celia!!!

I have been going to Celia and the rest of the stylists at Universal Hair Salon for almost 7 years now! After moving from South Florida to Washington D.C. 3 years ago, I was forced to find a new salon in DC for my keratin treatment. Ive found that no place can compare in quality or price, and find that I now plan my visits home to Florida to align with my hair appointments...or maybe its vice versa. The keratin treatment leaves my hair smooth, straight, and looking healthy and replenished. And my hair is naturally very very curly.Celia pays so much attention to detail and makes sure every strand of hair is in place. I feel like anywhere else Ive ever gone Im always dissatisfied with a section of my hair or how quickly it may wash out, but never here. Every piece of the hair is perfectly straightened and its still looking great 3 months in. I find the keratin treatment lasts 3-4 months for me.Ive watched over the years as the salon has installed all the fans, vents, and equipment to make the keratin treatment a safe process. Ive also seen the process go from taking many hours when I first started getting my hair treated, to now often being in and out in less than 2 hours. I typically book my appointments many weeks in advance since I know when Ill be down in Florida, but most recently I had to book one with just a few days notice, and they were extremely accommodating and opened early for me.Going from curly hair to straight hair has been a lifestyle change for me, as I no longer have to think so much about my sports or gym schedule. Once I discovered Celia, Universal Hair Salon, and their keratin treatments, Ive always thought it was some of the best money Ive ever spent.

I’ve been coming to see Celia for a few years now and not one complaint. Her CMR products haven’t let me down once and her hospitality makes the experience worth wild. She will do what she can to leave you walking out of the salon with nothing but feeling beautiful and a smile on your face. I went to this salon because of the great online reviews, I had a haircut, more like a trim as my hair is almost waist length. I wanted the stylist to dust off my dead ends, about 1 1/2 inches off. My hair style is very simple, minimum layers in the front, straight in the back. The stylist that cut my hair was Dora, she is a nice lady, but unfortunately did not do a good job. My hair was not even, as some chunks were longer than others. My hair also felt worse off, not better as a haircut usually leaves my hair feeling healthier. I was looking to go back for hair color, but I dont trust this place.

Celia is amazing. She is the only person that I go to do to Keratin. Decorations in the salon are gorgeous & the salon is super clean. I drive 45 minutes just to get my hair done. Love this place.

Ive gone to places that were $300+ for this kind of treatment, but never came out as well as she does it. They are more then affordable especially if youre on a budget. Tucked away in North Broward, just west of I-95,this is a vibrant, locally owned and artfully designed hair salon worthy of your time and tresses. Ive been there several times for color, highlights, Brazilian Keratin and hair cut.Celia, the owner, is a master of keratin, color and highlights and she shares her skills with her stylists for a consistent experience.I was last there in December 2013. Abraham applied the keratin to my wild hair and I questioned his application because he works so quietly, quickly and efficiently! Celia assured me he applied the correct amount of keratin and that the result would speak for itself. I pressed her but she was confident in the work that was done and offered to make right anything that was not satisfactory.After 6 weeks, it is clear she, and Abraham, did a fantastic job. All I can say is, Wow was I wrong! My hair is still straight, still soft and not frizzy. I love the blend of colors she chose and the way the color stays in my hair. And I am looking forward to going back soon for a touchup!

First time I went here myself last saturday. My hair dresser was Jaderson and I have to say he did an incrediable job :D. I have pretty simple requirements. 1. It be short and 2. It can grow out without it looking too funny. I let him do what he wanted with the style and am super pleased with the result. Definitely worth the money spent ($50 - first time - plus wash and blow dry)

Great customer service and environment!! They really care about the quality and health of your hair. I had a dark brown hair and was attempting to try a really light blonde balayage. They were very patient with my hair since it didnt want to go blonde that easily. It took a couple of hours for the bleach start working, and they were all doing the best they could to accomplish my wishes. I had Jaderson as my hairdresser, and he was great!! I will definitely return to get my roots retouched and for other services. Totally recommend.
