Stopped in for a quick iced coffee and had an excellent customer experience. The woman helping me knew all the fresh baked goods. She also prepared a great tasting coffee. Friendly, knowledgeable, and quick.

I kept passing this place and finally went in. It was worth the visit! Great selection of drinks, pastries and more. I didnt feel intimidated when I asked questions. The 13 year old I was with raved about the white chocolate being better than Starbucks! My dark mocha was made with oat milk and was sooo smoothe. Get the pumpkin bread to go with it and youre set! Ill be back!

Very cozy environment, great coffee, super vegan friendly (in coffee and sometimes even in pastries/cakes). The employees are so sweet. My favorite coffee spot to chill for an hour or so, hope they reopen past 5pm again soon so I can be here more frequently!

The people working seemed less than thrilled to be working there.They open at 8:00 am, which is LATE. Walked in at 7:45 and was asked to leave.My almond milk latte was over $8, which I understand. However, it tasted like chocolate almond milk with little to actual coffee.I wont be back for quite a while. For a shop open 19 years I expect WAY BETTER.

This is a wonderful little neighborhood coffee shop!! It is so welcoming and has such a lovely, comfortable atmosphere. On visits when I’ve felt chatty, I always met such interesting and kind folks. And of course... the coffee!!! Love their lattes, dark mochas, and brewed coffees!! 👏😎😍☕️ Their pastry case is also a little too tempting 😉 and they have great merch and artwork for sale and on display!!

The sweetest people work here. I brought my puppy and wasn’t sure if he was allowed in so I waited outside until my friend was finished with her order. My friend popped her head out and was like “they want you to bring in your dog!” So me and my puppy (Milo) head in and immediately we felt the love. The baristas were so sweet and welcoming. They even got milo his very first puppuccino. I love this little shop. My latte was spectacular and Milo devoured his beverage 🐶 thank you for a great experience!

Fantastic staff! I lost my Apple Watch two months ago and this nice lady who works there found it and gave it back to me. I am very grateful! Great people and you can always trust them. And the chocolate is really good btw.

Overall, not impressive, but not terrible. Recommendations for other coffee shops at the end.First: in the day of Starbucks employees calling the cops on people for sitting and waiting for a friend without ordering, rather than welcoming potential customers with a warm atmosphere, this coffee shop has chosen to display a warning saying that sitting and using the Wi-Fi is not allowed unless you have already made a purchase during your visit. Coffee shops are inherently shared spaces, and allowing people to come and sit quietly and do their work, meet friends, and then make purchases on their own time as they can afford, is simply standard business practice. As a small-businessperson myself, I cant imagine that their revenue would suffer significantly by doing so. Although I was here to buy a drink, walking in to the shop and seeing this notice displayed prominently immediately started my visit off on the wrong foot.On to the coffee: the cappuccino was meh. On my visit I experienced their house blend as a bit harsh and one-dimensional (i.e. it could be better balanced between bitter and sweet, with more flavour, if they used a more carefully fine-tuned blend and roast). It left an unpleasant bitter and burnt acidic aftertaste in my mouth. Some of this could be down to the espresso pull.The barista added too much milk, and the milk somehow did not foam evenly and formed lumps (see photo). For what I presume is one double shot of espresso in a small cappuccino, the entire 12-ounce mug was filled to the top with milk and foam. I know the current American trend is to add a lot more foam than standard to cappuccinos, but this seemed a bit extreme. It was difficult to sip the cappuccino without getting a faceful of foam.Props for non-gendered bathrooms, but there really should be at least one coat-hook on the back of the door or on the wall. Also, the paper towel roll was sitting on the toilet tank, which is not ideal.The interior design is pretty pleasant, and the employees were friendly and polite. Prices seemed reasonable enough. I just wish this coffee shop felt more welcoming and had better coffee. Knowing that bean quality is variable, Id be happy to give it another try sometime if they say this experience was a fluke.(Update: Java Monkey is no longer in business, so Dancing Goats is your best bet in the area.)If youre looking for a better all-around coffee experience in the area, Id recommend Java Monkey in downtown Decatur, followed by Dancing Goats coffee. Java monkey has a nicer atmosphere, and Dancing Goats, while more utilitarian and modern in feel, has very good coffee.

Really eclectic atmosphere, lots of different pastry options, amazing drink options (super tasty!), and lots of seating. I really enjoy coming here and find it to be a great place to study and get work done. I have recommended many friends to this shop. Love it!

Contemporary coffee shop. Eclectic vibe when your enter. They have better coffee and tea than franchise coffee shops. Also, the volume and blouse levels are much lower than franchise coffee shops. They have some seats and couches inside. Would recommend for a casual meeting

The coffee is great! The amount of options for seating is THE BEST PART. Im a writer and I search for coffee shops with big, comfy couches and chairs. This place has got them... all of them. Theres always an open couch somewhere. I love it.COMPLAINTS: Only two: 1. Sometimes if youre sitting in the back, you get a lovely waft of the bathroom, which obviously doesnt smell all that great. 2. The staff, while super friendly and accommodating while taking your order, tend to have loud, obnoxious discussions with each other. And lately, with Game of Thrones and Avengers coming back, its been filled with spoilers. I understand Im in public, but when I can hear the entire conversation despite my use of earbuds with music, I find it frustrating.Other than that, Id highly recommend this place for a good coffee break and a place to write :)

I go here at least once a month. I dont drink coffee all the time but its a great place to get a treat or meet a friend/colleague. I wish they had more gluten free stuff but thats it. Love it. Yummy stuff and lots of choices.

Spent an afternoon here getting work done. Great place to get work done as well as meet up with friends. Tried their chicken salad sandwich which was really good! Coffee was good too. I found myself being fairly productive here.

Everyone working there is very friendly and the quality of the coffee is consistent. The place could use some sprucing up in terms of the decor, but otherwise, its a cozy local coffee shop.

Ive enjoyed every cup of coffee/espresso Ive bought here. I tend to lean towards stronger tastes and I feel they have great tasting drinks. Their pastries always look delicious and my friends swear by them. Its a great place to sit and study or have a small pow-wow with your friends. Its very cozy and inviting. Great environment.

Great place to go to as a student to be productive! Theres a nice coffee selection but the house coffee is my favorite drink to get, everyone is always friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy. While I wish there were some lunch sandwich options the pastries are tasty and while Im not vegan I appreciate that customers have that option if they would like a dessert.

During the school year youll find this place packed with Emory students although it has its fair share of locals wedged in between. Its a really nice, unpretentious coffee joint that offers a good menu. The soundtrack can be pretty eclectic and the staff have been known to switch tracks mid-song.Reserve the group room in advance or enjoy a variety of seating indoor and out.

The other reviews mentioned that they carried a variety of vegan baked goods so I made a point of going out of my way to get coffee and a pastry here. Sadly they didnt have any vegan baked goods today. Please consider making vegan options standard practice (and not gluten free ones). They do offer almond, oat, hazelnut, and oat non dairy milks which is great but the oatmilk cappuccino was all bubbles. Nice variety of places to sit - stuffed chairs, tables, couches, and a bar. Weak but passable wifi.

I recently moved to the area and my roommate recommended this as a place to get some work done. The café was spacious, is part of a strip mall with loads of parking close to Emory, and there were plenty of outlets and seats. I got an iced coffee and croissant and was enjoying my drink. The croissant was okay but I appreciated the staff toasting it for me. However, in the afternoon at some point, the music in the cafe turned off and the employees conversation became the main noise in the cafe. This would have been fine other than the fact they were discussing the smells of an out of order bathroom. Other than that my interactions of the staff were great, so Im only going to knock off one star and I probably will return to try other drinks and do more work.

I like their coffee, but today, the girl working the register was unpleasant. If I hand you the money, do not put my change on the counter; as if you have a problem with black people. I stopped by this strip center to check out a vacant retail space. I ended up wandering into this coffee shop and ordered the Chai spiced chocolate, cold. Its was delicious!The atmosphere was relaxing and cozy! There is a lot of seating space to pop out your laptop and chill!

Ooo I love Chocolate. I do not drink coffee but my associates say its delicious and they have a wide variety of choices. Im a hot chocolate lover and die for it. The cocoa is rich in flavor. I can had any flavoring (hazelnut, caramel, almond..you name it). There are tons of dairy free, vegan options (almond milk, macadamia nut milk, etc.) They have the most delicious bagels for breakfast, there are cookies, and baked goods. The atmosphere is comfy. Great place to meet and talk. Free wifi. Friendly staff.

The iced coffee is special because it is double brewed & supper strong. It was just what I needed to fuel two hours of digging for vinyl at the record store next door. What a comfortable, friendly place, & loved the various coffee-themed collages hung around the place.

I come here everyday because I cant find any other place like it. Friendly staff, comfortable places to sit, decent background music, and stable WiFi. It kind of awesome that the genre of music changes depending on the days. I am not sure if its chosen by the managers or just who ever is in staff but it is something Ive noticed.

I have been stopping here nearly every weekday morning for over 1.5 years. I love this place. Coffee is good, price is good, baristas are friendly and helpful. There is one thing I wish was different: there are only sweet choices in pastries. The bagels they sometimes have are awful. Emerald City, please? More plain croissants, please.

Great shop. Great location. My only bad experience was when a barista served me a cup of coffee from a half-brewed pot of coffee. This weakens the rest of the batch and makes for a much too potent cup of joe. Left me with the jitters.

Very cozy and suitable for studying long hours. There is no uniformity to the furniture and wall ornaments as opposed to what you usually see in chain coffee shops, which is really nice and natural.Great mocha frape for 5.99!

Solid coffee shop with comfy couches, wifi, and a very dedicated chess club that meets regularly in the back. Folks seem to favor the bananas foster frappe drink, and for good reason - its fantastic.

My personal experience wasnt pleasant, but I know many people love ChocoLaté. I think its great that they have so many menu options and that they have private rooms people can book for appointments and such. The ambiance isnt my speed, but is very relaxed. It reminds me of a college campus coffee shop - a little grungy with a DIY, shabby-chic vibe. The customer service was lacking during my visit - I had some questions about what was available on the menu and the barista slid a menu across the counter to me instead of talking me through what would be a good option. I prefer friendly chatting, so Ill stick with other coffee shops in the area.There are gender neutral bathrooms and ample lot parking. There is a lot of space to sit and many couches, chairs, and tables for groups or solo folks.

I had a lavender matcha latté (almond) and it was the first time Ive finished a hot drink in a long time. I never got tired of the taste and all the flavors were so balanced I wanted to keep drinking it. And of course because of the matcha it was a lovely green color. If it sounds good to you, then Id definitely recommend it.Im giving the cafe four stars because their location needs some accessibility improvements; which is not uncommon in old cities, but still.
