This review is for Mermaid Sushi. We ordered the 26 piece platter and the 12 piece nuclear. Everything was amazing :D The presentation was beautiful, as you can see in the picture from right after we picked it up. The sushi was delicious, great nigri fish selection and tasty cut rolls. My fiance doesnt like crab much but she still loved the California rolls! The nigri was my highlight, but nigri is my fav so Im biased. The chefs making it were very nice and even asked for our favorite colors when decorating with flowers and herbs!

Pretty good store. They offer a lot. They also provide good information like when are the different fruits and vegetables available charts on the wall. I am a lunch customer, not a weekly shopper. But the bakery and lunch counter is good. Fresh fruit is nice. This is sub-supermarket in size, but complete.

My favorite place to shop in town! Great selection of natural, organic products that arent available elsewhere in town. They have an impressive bulk section, with super low prices. In general prices are actually quite cheap for their dried/packaged goods; produce can be a bit expensive. Lots of cute items to catch your eye make for a terrific shopping experience!

Even if the Co-op werent a consistent source of reasonably-priced, perfect, organic avocados and the worlds most incredible chai, hand-made from fresh ginger root and healing spices, Id still be addicted to their craft beer selection and bulk chocolate malt balls (so chocolatey). Some people go crazy for the Co-ops chocolate-peanut butter grinder (also organic), or their in-house marinated mozzarella, or that smoked tri tip they sell out of by 6pm every Thursday night... but Im a sucker for those endless bins of bulk snacks and the fresh surprises the beer and wine staff keep bringing to their shelves. The friendly employees, quirky events and the stores deep commitment to the sustainability of Davis is all just icing. Love the Davis Food Co-op.

Its a decent place. Its not as well stocked as Whole Foods and its prices are considerably higher, but it is better than nothing, since there is no Whole Foods in Davis. Occasionally, very awesome sales are offered that make shopping here worthwhile, but the staff does not know how to handle special orders and by their own admission often sit on an order for a week before submitting it to their distributor. Because the store has no competition in Davis, they are able to get away with this B.S. Its an okay place, but I still need to drive to the Sacramento Whole Foods once a week to take care of all my shopping needs.

We just shopped here and question if we will go back!! Weve been co-op owners for about 5 years now and feel it is not worth spending the extra money on most items here while receiving very poor customer service while at the registers!! They always make you feel as if it is YOUR JOB TO BAG YOUR OWN FOOD!! Last night the employee moved the already scanned items toward my husband and I and looked at us like it was our responsibility to bag!! This is NOT the first time, but pretty much the norm in this store!! I never feel my business is appreciated!!

I do love the store, they have all my favorite stuff here. But the clerks need to learn how to bag groceries, okay? Who in their right mind puts bananas, bagels, and bread on the bottom and then places heavier items on top of those? Another time the guy was going so fast that he dropped my produce. Nectarines I think it was. Those bruise easily and should be handled with care. I had joined, but let my membership lapse and I dont think Ill become a full member now just because of that. But I do like the store and I like the products that they carry, I just wish that the clerks were more mindful.

My favorite local grocery store, I almost go there everyday! Love the atmosphere, the employees are so helpful and knowledgeable, and they carry almost everything I could want or need at a grocery store. There is an amazing selection of local and organic goods offered. They just remodeled and the store has a much better layout now. The cafe and deli has great food and drinks at a reasonable price, there are also baked goods that are vegan and gluten free. I love that this store is within walking distance, it is right on the out skirts of downtown. They are open much earlier and later than most stores in the area. Is a very convenient place to shop.

Coop has changed and many of us long time members think not for the better, unfortunately. Coop no longer carries many of the natural not chemical infused products we sought out there. Becoming more like a Safeway trending to mainstream -not so healthy product lines. Only a few employees have the former customer focused attitude but many dont; the newer ones really dont know what customer service is and can be downright dismissive if one asks for legitimate assistance. It does not feel welcoming and like a cooperative place any more, so sad to say. On the bright side, the produce guy has upped the game to emphasize local organics. The wellness Dept needs some folks who know products and care about wellness. Of late, Wellness Products are not all natural & have some undesirable additives as well as untrained help with nasty attitudes when you ask a reasonable question. But still the best selection in town by default --no competition since we lost Whole Foods. Sprouts, anyone? Check expiration dates especially in dairy and deli products! In the past, calls about products were returned without fail but no more. Lets bring the good spirit & stuff that used to be the heart and soul of the Davis Coop back again. You can be better with some genuine effort! I used to feel proud as a member to have the Coop as part of the Davis unique but so much seems to have been lost, sadly.

The co-op is a Davis staple. In my opinion this is the best place to get fresh chicken, fish, and turkey in town. There are usually 4-5 fish options and the sourcing is up front. I have a limited experience with Food Co-ops . The only two Ive shopped were the Brooklyn Co-op and Park Slope Co-op. I really liked Brooklyn, but Park Slope.. well need I say more. When I entered Davis Co-op Was just praying that it wasnt a Park Slope outfit. I was very happy to find out it wasnt. I should have known, this is Davis after all. The store was clean everyone was nice. My partner and I got a lot of attention, I assume because they thought my 2yr old nephew was our child 👨‍👨‍👦. The store was a little difficult to navigate, but it is a small space. So not a big deal. Ill definitely be here again.

This store has delicious food options, many of them gluten and dairy free and/or vegan. The only tough thing is that it has high prices, but I had an EBT card the past year that really helped me buy food from here, so I could finally buy whatever I wanted with it unless it was a hot meal. Nice selection of natural items. Large produce section. The hot food that I had- pork sliders from the deli and mac and cheese from the hot bar- were both not great. The mac and cheese was extremely greasy, my small serving had about a tablespoon or more of oil that seeped out in the 5 minutes between scooping it and eating it. And the sliders were very fatty and had the taste and texture of frozen meats...

Has the most amazing organic produce. Its inspiring just to walk through the produce section. It also has a wonderful deli section salad bar and Buffet. And as a Coop its owned and operated for the benefit of its membership. Its not a corporate Giant out to squeeze as much money from you as possible. Also they abandoned the practice last year of charging a surcharge for non-members. Instead members get a rebate on their total purchases at the end of each year if voted by the board of directors.

Been going to the Co-op for years. I highly suggest a membership if you are in the area. With the membership you get great classes, experiences and discounts. If in the area, swing by and see what should be available in every town in America for a successful food system. The only reason I give it a 4 is because the cost is higher, but that is the real cost of a business and not a conglomerate that pulls food from around the world at slave workee prices. If people want more jobs, start buying local and pay enough money for your food to provide a job to the people that get it in the store. The more you choose cheap over local the more people you hire somewhere else.Your money is your voice and buying cheap is silence amongst the sheep. Stand up and make yourself heard.
