Dave in the guns and ammo department was a pleasure to work with. I loved his patience and how he took the time to answer all questions that an inexperienced customer ahead of me had regarding various firearms. When my time came, he was no different. You can see he enjoys his job, and it shows in the service he provides. Well deserving of praise and recognition.

Great gear and selection but terribly disorganized and dirty. Several aisles and thoroughfares were blocked by huge loads. It made navigating with a cart and children particularly hard.

Juan, Taylor and dillon provided exceptional service when I had an issue. They went above and beyond. I love this location and they’re always super helpful when needed. Thanks guys. Keep up the great work !!

The workers that were there were very nice and accommodating I wouldnt hesitate to shop there again.P.S. unfortunately they dont have electric scooters to accommodate the handicapped. The ones that were there none of them was working that would be my only complaint. Thank God I had my own wheelchair with me.

The Womens Restroom was very, very dirty, it needed immediate attention. I told the young girl at the customer service, she just looked at me like, what do you want me to do about it. She was not nice, courteous, or seem concern about the issue. Then I told the greeder at the door, she said I know about already. But still I never heard her tell or call an employee

Store was well stocked, the staff was very helpful and eager to assist with anything I needed. Very competitive prices

Good place to pick up sports equipment, and work boots! Pricing is a little weird, u can find the same item on a different shelf, marked with a different sometimes lower price, they will honor the cheaper price, without issue

Curtis ( manager) was rude and arrogant. He lacks problem solving skill, empathy, professionalism and an ability or willingness to help out a customer. He made my day a hell and I never want to ever do business here. He had no business working customer service let alone be a manager!!! Very disappointing

The checkout line at over 25 people long with one cashier. I checked out online to get the hell out of there. Robert, the manager, needs to do a better job at placing his staff because there were other workers available to do checkout.

I will share this...I went in into Academys and immediately the store employee directed me where to find what I was looking for.Got it and went home a happy cutomer.Two thumbs up for Academy Sportsman.

Awesome they keep you informed of every change that is made to your online order. Also great customer service when ask for a certain product the actually walk with you to show you where it is and if that product is what you were looking for..

This particular store is so clean & neat. Nice customer service people. My 2nd time to go to Academy Sports but I love the mens stuffs, very classy. Pricey but nothing cheap anymore anyway.

Academy is my one stop job for all my sporting goods needs. Plus I found out that they carry the best seasonings for grilling. You should try them. I love this store.

Bought a bike online from the store. Got 2 text messages on the same day stating the order was ready for pickup. The next day drove all the way to the store just for them to tell me that the bike is not actually assembled and is still in a box. Should have called before i drove all the way there but after receiving 3-4 text messages saying it was ready for pickup who would have known. Now got another text the next day, been on hold for over 30 mins for them to keep on sending me to another caller. Horrible customer service, dont ever buy anything from this place.

4/19/2021Walked in yesterday for an exchangeI was told that they no longer do exchanges..But that i could return and buy again; Absolutely understandable...but man the young lady had a horrible attitude problem!! From the min i walked to the register she seem to be attacking me for everything!! She was obviously having a bad day!!I asked for the manager so i could let him know of the situation... HE WAS ABSOLUTELY LOVELY & UNDERSTANDING! He’s the reason for my five star rate!!!!! Unfortunately i didn’t get the cashiers name :/But for you young lady if ur not in the mood to be at a customer service desk STAY HOME!! Don’t go to work with your bad vibes!!!

The gentleman came and followed me out to my vehicle ran around like it was something serious.... I asked my husband what on earth this is a classic stereo typing like it was astorm outside and we happened to pull over for we couldnt see ... We was literally in there maybe a whole 5 minutes before they closed the store and if someone was the greatest thief that was not enough time to sneeze seriously.and why didnt the little man just ask me right there I mean why didnt he just ask to see in my purse or something since after all he made a big scene like we was excaping... I think lately these security and managers are really looking at the wrong type of people sometimes maybe if they would realize also you dont have to make a big huge ordeal out of something like that anyways .. Its not like your saving lifes by embarrasseing some one else especially when they were truly innocent.....

Bought shoes on line for pick up was wrong size could exchange .had email for pock ip with order number and sku .said they can not be exchang with order number snd email receipt.suck .my dau.ghter stood there a hour.i tried calling give my credit card info i tell u i called 12 times no answer .to give them more info change those shoes out.sad .customer service and return policy.

Ordered online for pick up in store. I got to the store and elected curbside pickup due to the weather being a bit drizzly and I just got my hair done and didn’t want to get it wet. I sat in my car for a good ten minutes, no one came. I called the store and no answer at all. I get out and go inside, to my surprise the staff at the pick up counter is just standing around talking doing absolutely nothing. Then I have to wait additional time because all of the items aren’t at the pick up counter. Then I hear other people calling the store and instead of answering the phone the girls just sit there talking amongst themselves. No one offered to help me get the stuff to the car. Nothing.

Gross store full of trash as you walk in right at opening time.

The problem is.... We stood there for 30 minutes waiting on assistance at the gun counter.... No help at all, but then another couple that didnt look like us got immediate attention.... Im gone let yall take it from there.

They were running low on quite a bit of gear when I was there but generally a pretty good store.

Lines were super long but moved pretty quickly.

Inventory was low, as to be expected. Several good clearance sales. Store was clean and well maintained. The store personnel we saw were friendly and knowledgeable. I like the price check scanners placed throughout the store. We found what we went for, and were able to check for item availability in the store using website.

Friendly, someone is at the front door to greet you and assist if need be. Was able to find my product and be on the way. Fast, Friendly, and if in a hurry they had plenty of lanes open not to cause back up among customers.

Way more helpful than the Sherman TEXAS store!

Disappointing experience today. I understand that ammo is hard to come by and I waited 2 hours before opening time only to find out that there was no. 357 sig on the shelf. I know people dont buy it often but I planned to get one box so I think it would have been worth it for you to have a few on hand. I could have been to work on time if I had known better.

Went to this store to inquire about weight machines. Got help from Derinic Landers a really knowledgeable employee who went out of his way to help me. Great job Academy for having awesome employees. Stacy was awesome as well.

They had these stocked in the wrong spot so they honored their mistake and sold them at 1/2 price! Stores always clean and this is my 3rd pair of shoes at a great price. Not to mention a vast selection of brand wear for athletic and casual attire at good prices as well.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE Ive experienced in a while. Ive tried contacting them about a order i placed, but they keep hanging up on me after waiting for over 20 mins for somebody to answer me. They answer and hang up. I also tried calling back NUMEROUS times from my work phone and the same thing. Who ever is managing the customer service dept at this location should really step it up. This is UNACCEPTABLE.

Will only sell you 9mm bullets if your purchasing a gun from them, but has available in-store when you check online

Picked up a varmint rifle. No issues or problems. Didnt have my size in black jeans though.

Absolutely love it! The employees were extremely helpful and nice and even gave me a discount when a bought a tent that was on display.

I drove 30 minutes to the store wanting to pick up an item that I ordered online. I was at the counter at 8:40 to pick up my item and was told that all sales at that department end at 8:30 (store closes at 9). This wouldnt be such an issue to me if there was at least a sign somewhere or a note on the website that made me aware of it. The cherry on top was the fact that the employee at the counter didnt even say Im sorry but I cant help you. He did tell me you can come back tomorrow first thing in the morning and pick it up. I like Academy, but had a very disappointing customer service experience at this store.

This location is nice yet confusing as hell.Items are not where they are displayed. Like wait what?? Very few employees know anything typical. Probably my biggest pev at this location there is ALWAYS a line with 10+ people waitng in line. (no matter the time of day!!)

Great selection of shoes, good enough selection on youth sporting goods, camping & hiking section is smaller than most other locations. That section should be larger but you can typically find most things there.

Great place, but busy at certain times

Picked up ammo for the range yesterday. From the parking lot through the store was clean! There were plenty of associates throughout the store to help assist with any needs the customers may have had. The ammo section was surprisingly neat and organized! I had no issue finding any ammunition in my caliber! Also while shopping there was a call put out to have 3 people come restock the shelves! Would rather shop here than any of the other stores that offer ammo. Will definitely return here in the future!

Low impact shopping, no pushy salesman, polite staff... Ashame inventory in some sections are little to none...

I came to inquire about the inventory patterns of ammunition because Im well aware of the shortage. I was told that about 100 people normally lined up outside everyday before the store opened to purchase ammunition. Not only was I laughed at when I asked when they would get new ammo supplies, I was also suggested to find another retailer to purchase from. It just seemed that every answer to my inquiries suggested me going somewhere else. And as a black woman, I couldnt help but feel like my business was unwanted. Why should I go somewhere else? I am willing to stand outside with the others if it means I could possibly get ammunition! Just answer my questions without the extra input and deterrence

Ordered online for curbside delivery but all spots were taken when I arrived while noticing several cars parked in designated pick-up/curbside unattended so I figured they must be inside picking up? When I went inside to pick up desk no one there and no others waiting for pick up, so they radioed for assistance. I was the only customer waiting inside for a pick up at the time. While I waited for almost 20 minutes for someone to attend to me I wondered why I was the only one inside the store waiting for a pickup but yet all the spots outside were taken? When I finally was attended and left the store the same cars were still in the spots designated for pick up/curbside. Almost defeats the purpose if its intended to keep us safe and be more proficient.

They only have about half the inventory stocked at all times for all the fishing equipment. More times than not they don’t have what I need because it’s out of stock. The only reason I come to this location is because I work in the area. Walmart has a better selection of fishing gear then they do. Everything else seems to be fine but do not come here looking for fishing related things, chances are they are out of stock.

First time ever being to this location. I stopped by too purchase a cutting board 18x24 in. that I had seen on line for $19.99 . I couldnt find the cutting board so I asked Ariana if she could help me finding the cutting board. She was able too find the cutting board. I must say Ariana went above and beyond her customer services. She was beyond Excellent and maintained a very nice smile the entire time. I will definitely shop at this Sports Academy again.👍👍👍👍👍😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄.

Ive never had a problem with Academy but this one just disappointed me. I went in there looking for a weight bench they had none on display. I know, I know COVID but they had exercise bikes and treadmills out in the open. I ask a lady where is all the weight benches? she replied they are all in the back...I replied can I see them? she replied no sir. I just dont get how you supposed to buy something and not even see what it is youre buying. The whole experience rubbed me the wrong way not to mention the weight section was just non existent. I wont stop going to Academy its a great store with a lot of nice employees. That all being said 4 stars out of 5.

Curbside pickup fast and so convenient

Awful customer service. No call backs as promised. Totally not customer friendly. Never shopping here again. Take your money to a retailer that cares or give it to Amazon.
