Over the past year, I upgraded camera, housing, video light, and strobes through Bluewater. The rep. I dealt with (Mark Strikland) has gone above and beyond the call of duty at every step: from answering very basic questions regarding the gear, to facilitating interactions between the customer (me) and the manufacturer. One of the best customer service experiences I have ever had.

Ive gone on two epic trips with Bluewater Photo; both trips were on the lovely Rocio Del Mar. Im just fresh off the boat from an amazing UW photo workshop at the Sea of Cortez.Planning the trip with Bluewater Photo Travel was effortless. My travel agent, Gillian, was extremely knowledgeable and well organized. Prior to the workshop, our trip leader, Nirupam, and Gill put together a Zoom meeting to help us all get aquatinted with each other and to answer any and all of our questions.Nirupam is WONDERFUL! I love his energy and humbleness. I am a professional photographer, and although he was teaching the fundamentals of photography for this workshop--he still made it fun and engaging for all levels of photographers onboard. He has a background in fisheries science, which definitely helps photographers capture better photos of the otherworldly UW subjects. I also must add that his technical knowledge on photo equipment and editing software is mind blowing and vast. He is clearly very passionate about what he does, and he is completely selfless.Thanks for a memorable trip and awesome photo-ops!
Mark at Bluewater Photo is MORE than AMAZING!!!! On a scale of 1 to 10 he is a 15!!!!! His patience is beyond belief. I had so many questions and he took the time to answer each one in a way that I could understand. I spent over six months trying to decide on the right camera system for my needs. Mark was there for me every step of the way, never talking down to me, never pressuring me and always listening to me. It never felt like his goal was to make a sale but it always felt like he had my best interest at heart and was most focused on how to best support me at every stage of their process. He allowed me to proceed at my pace. I can say with complete confidence if it were not for Mark I would still be months away from getting my new camera system instead of days away……. Wow! Bluewater Photo is great. Mark promptly returned my call and email and worked with me, a non photographer, to help me get set up with the right equipment. Mark did a zoom call to go over the camera, housing, and accessories prior to our spontaneous trip to Hawaii. We had less than a month to pull it together, and Mark helped me every step of the way.Bluewater Photo is not only great for professionals and expert amateurs, obviously, but people like me, that know very little about camera settings and what they all mean. Here is my story for those of you who may not be experts, dont know much, but are looking to improve knowledge and skills in underwater photography and dont know where to go.We enjoy snorkeling. I bought a Fuji XP at the Costco in Maui a couple of years ago. It was ok, and if the light were perfect, my underwater pictures turned out ok. I was fine with that. Then I saw My Octopus Teacher and was totally inspired by the movie and it led to my pursuit of finding out more about underwater cameras to photograph the fish and reefs that I deeply care about.I googled and found Bluewater. Mark asked the right questions. I thought I was going to get by with another underwater point and shoot. Instead, Mark set me up with a Sony RX VA, Fantasea housing, a wide angle lens, handles and a few other necessary accessories. I suddenly felt elevated to the ranks of Jaques Cousteau and had no clue if I could do this. What if the pictures didnt turn out? Mark spent an hour on a zoom call going over everything and helpful hints. It was scary until I got in the water and started taking pictures. It works!!!Here are some before (Fuji XP) (3rd pic) and after (Sony RX V with Fantasea Housing) day 2 of our trip and Im still learning the camera! Wow. I used wide angle in these pics, but can crop them down if I want. There is nothing better than working with experts that do this 100 times a day, know their stuff, and match you up with the right gear. Thank you Bluewater Photo and Mark!

I have visited the store when in town but it isnt necessary as they work and give attention just as well over the phone. I truly never write reviews, but he put so much time (multiple hours across multiple weeks!) of helping me figure out what UW camera set up to get, talking via email and phone with me during my *long* decision making process, helping me get the best option for my more limited price range, and then to top it off he helped me set it all up via a video call! The very least I can do it post a positive review. He has been immensely helpful, patient, and extremely quick to respond.

I dont normally write reviews, but the staff at Blue Water Photo and specifically, Nirupam Nigam, absolutely deserve highest praise. Recently, after deciding to upgrade my camera system but not having a clear decision on what to get, Nirupam spent many hours over several phone calls discussing pros and cons with me at length. As my thought process evolved, Nirupam was always prepared with a tremendous volume of expertise to explain details regarding everything regarding cameras, lens, housing and accessories. There happened to be a Black Friday deal for GH5 housings and he put a custom quote together for me quickly so that I was able to purchase gear to use the following week for a shoot. In March 2020 I bought a macro lens and a wide-angle lens for an upcoming dive trip… which of course was canceled by Covid. I left everything in the box until a week ago, when I was getting ready to go off to Tahiti for the “let’s make up for the lost year” dive trip. But I had mistakenly failed to buy the “step down” ring required to attach the wide-angle lens to my camera housing. I was freaking out when I called Bluewater Photo, but they calmly helped me diagnose what I needed and overnighted it to me. This morning I excitedly opened the package… but still couldn’t figure out how to attach the lens. I was sure that Bluewater had sent me the wrong thing. I was freaking out again when I called them… and they calmly explained how to attach the lens. Tomorrow I will leave for Tahiti with working camera gear after getting technical sales support and psychotherapy at the same time. I would never buy anywhere else.
I recently moved from a point and shoot underwater camera to a Canon Power Shot g7x Mark II with an underwater housing. I bought it after reading several articles on the Bluewater site discussing options in all price ranges for underwater cameras. I usually buy my camera equipment from B&H in NYC but Bluewater actually came in with a better price so I took the plunge and ordered it from them. Everything arrived perfect and on time. I had a question after I got it, emailed them and got a quick response with good advice. I am very pleased with their customer service before and after the sale and will definitely use them again when the time comes to expand my system.

These guys are awesome! They helped me out in a pinch when I was pressed for time on a camera accessory and when I had a shipping issue they had not one but two people respond to me! Very thorough customer service and you can tell these guys really care about their customers!
I broke the mount to my ITorch Pro light and couldn’t not find a replacement anywhere. On the suggestion of a friend who buys all his equipment from Bluewater, I contacted them for help and Tommy was able to procure a mount for me. Saved me about $500. Without the mount, the light is useless and I would have had to purchase another. These guys are really great and know everything there is to underwater photography and they are extremely helpful.

Bluewater photo has helped us out yet again. We were trying to figure out exactly what we needed for a port, gear and lens for the unusual Laowa probe lens. Had a great experience with Bluewater! I had been slowly accumulating parts to an underwater setup through sales this year and I was really looking for a lot of help and guidance on completing and getting the right set up. Mike spoke to me on the phone and then promptly sent me quotes on multiple set ups. Once I decided on my set up he was very quick to give me advice and send me updated price quotes each time i changed that I changed my mind about options and accessories (there were multiple). I wasnt going to leave this purchase to internet sales luck. It was very nice having one person from inquiry to sale stick with me to give advice. Overall great experience!

I really enjoyed working with Tommy. I was starting from scratch after losing my previous camera due to a flooding incident, I didnt want to make the same mistake and buy an inferior housing unit. He gave real honest advice and was responsive to all of my questions...and trust me I had a ton of them particularly since I didnt want to make the same mistake again. He helped me navigate the numerous options and finally settle on something that should work really well for the long run. I am getting a rock solid Sony system with Isotta housing. My light stopped working after a couple months and not only did I get a replacement in less than a week from Kraken, but Mark with Bluewater was so quick to return my call and efficiently assisted in contacting Kraken for me and was there for me all the way through until I got my replacement. TLane and the sales department at Bluewater photo were spectacular! We had been waiting on a domeport from another vendor for two months. Tired of waiting, I looked for another vendor with an online presence who could ship to a US Territory in the Pacific Jurisdiction. We put in our order, and they even recognized that I had forgotten to order a pretty critical piece of equipment and asked if I wanted to include that in my order. Additionally, shipping to Saipan can be quite tricky, but the team handled it and got us our order in roughly four-days. Their efficiency, customer service, and knowledge ensured that our two-week field surveys went without a hitch. If I need any underwater photography or photography gear, professionally or personally, it will be through Bluewater.
Where to begin- five stars doesn’t seem nearly enough to express my satisfaction and gratitude!A few months ago, I decided to upgrade from my point and shoot to either a DSLR Or Mirrorless. There were two major UW photography companies for me to consider working with. The first one asked what my budget was and then said I wouldn’t get what I need with that. In contrast, Mark at Bluewater asked me what I liked about my point and shoot, what I didn’t, and what I was looking for in an upgrade. After several hour-plus conversations, we narrowed it down to 3 cameras. He sent me NO LESS than 15 quotes with different configurations, taking the time to explain in great detail all the differences and what they would mean to me. I ended up settling on the NIkon D780 with Isotta housing. There was a small issue with the TTL trigger, and Mark went so far as to FaceTime with me THREE times, and also set up a face to face call with the owners of Isotta. We were able to work through the problem easily! Throughout the whole process, I felt like any question I had or needed help with was handled with great detail and attention. While I did end up spending quite more than I originally planned, it was because I was given all the information and options I needed to make the decision that was best for me. I can honestly say I’ve never had a major purchase process that was as wonderful as this one!!! Thank you, Mark and Bluewater! I truly feel like you are there helping me on the dives!
I decided to upgrade my underwater housing camera. I had called around to several different underwater camera shops and explained my budget, my thoughts on what i was looking for, I also talked about my dislikes on my old camera system and that i didnt want to have the same issues with the new system. When i started talking to Tommy at Bluewater i felt like he was actually listening to my needs. He answered questions throughly. He proposed several different cameras and we talked about the strengths and weaknesses of each. It took me over 2 weeks to make my decision and a multitude of calls, emails and texts. I have made several other purchases sense my housing. Some strobes for the girlfriend, a foucs light and an o-ring. I have always received propmt response and personal care when dealing Tommy from Bluewater.
Very disappointing experience. I have been seeking a dive housing for one of my older cameras that shoots raw. I found one on sale at a discount because it was discontinued. The web site clearly noted that it was the last one left so I jumped in an ordered it.5 days later I got an email cancelling the order because Ikelite had discontinued the product...that they were advertising as discontinued....Naturally, theyd be happy to help me select a different product....Bait and switch. They STILL show the product in question on their web page with a bold note - ONLY ONE LEFT.The only saving grace here is that they have promptly refunded my money. I would not do business with this outfit.

Tommy did a great job in his recommendation of photography gear and an even better job of getting it to me on time. (Less than a 24 hour turnaround). The photos that I was able to take were incredible and I will definitely be a return customer when I decide to upgrade / add more features to my set up.

Terrible service, ordered 2 spare video light battery packs. One was fine, the second was the wrong one, then I was sent a replacement one without the accessories to mount to my tray that the other one had. Have been going back and forth for over a year without a resolution. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone after my experience with them. 👎👎👎👎👎
