First off I love this store. The employees are so nice and helpful. Today I was assisted by Sean who went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. I highly recommend stopping in just to see what they have!

If you want a clean and organized dollar general to go to I recommend the cromwell store.. I hated going to the middletown store on Newfield street, since they opened the cromwell store I do not go any other general if I can help it and I avoid the one on Newfield street like the plague.. so if u want nice, and polite, helpful employees, clean and organized dollar general then stop by the cromwell store..

Stopped in for some candles today, waiting in line socal distance adhered to by everyone.... while waiting to check out heard the cashier laughing with the customer.... at my turn the cashier was very kind even complimted my hair. Good service with a kind word had to make sure her bosses know you have a great employee 😀

William the store manager there was extremely friendly and very helpful. Store was clean and very organized like no other DG if been too

Great hours and selection. Prices could be better, rarely do things go on sale. Turn over of products is weekly rather than monthly.

Cromwell, CT store opened just 2 yrs ago. Pleasant staff, stocked well Covid19 has effected all stores inventory w/most being online purchasing. i did walk in here however, found cards (which are priced fairly) and cleaning detergents, paper goods, etc. kids were hanging outside door from the neighborhood holding mandated masks but not wearing. a customer directed them to put on, be safe, dont risk. the proximity to glass door entrance was very close. i wondered why at door and seated on cement walk..you know 13 yo. but seriously, like that adult warning to put on masks..i wondered where their parents were.

Friendly staff. Almost a mini supermarket, a large spread of different products with many affordable options alongside name brands. While they didnt have everything that was on my list, I found most of the things I needed.

Terrible figured this place would be a nicer location considering its in Cromwell but its not. 2 particular associates are really bringing it down the Asian man who doesnt want to do anything but stand still and gives an attitude and another older lady who continues to shout thru the store ILL BE THERE INNA MINUTE and comes 2 to 5 minutes later I stop in once in awhile for a couple things but Id rather just drive to Walmart and spend a little more.

The Asian manager disconnects the bar code scanner in the store. Its been this way for months. I asked about it and he said it no work, you come to register I look up! So I have to wait in line to see a price of any item because he doesnt want customers to scan items on their own. Im going to call the district manager on him. Very bad customer service.

I had 8 or 9 items in my cart when the woman comes over and says they are only accepting cash today. I say I was planning on credit or debit. Systems down. Me being me backtracked and properly restocked my items. After I did so the woman said she would take my cart to put back. I was at the store front and would pass the cart area as I left. I could have abandoned the cart full at the back where she had approached me. So, no thank you for restocking. No offer to restock when she first approached. And taking the empty cart from me 15 feet from its area just left a bad taste for this store.
