We found this place by chance. So we ordered a banana 🍌 milkshake. I must say it was good compared to other places that offer similar milkshakes. If we are in Covina again we will it definitely stop and try a different flavor.

Its one of the few things that has not changed over the years. They have added to the menu, but the old favorites are still exactly the same. Its a great place to stop for a reasonably priced ice cream treat. Theyve got every type of sundae topping you can think of and they have a vegetarian menu as well.

Great vegan fast food! Used to be primarily vegetarian but now is mainly vegan on the food side. Their soft serve is still all dairy though.

Im so glad this place is still here. I used to get my vegan ice cream and vegan hot dogs here years ago when I lived in Covina. I moved 7 yrs ago and have been eating meat and dairy and being in my 50s. Ive been having serious issues with mucus and inflammation stiffness etc. I have since went back to vegan or pescatarian and organic actually so hopefully Ill be able to visit this place next time Im near. VERY Delicious food. 👍

For years I use to get flyers from this place they mentioned specials, but they failed to include address and I believe the business name was not included. I thought it was crazy to spend on advertisement and leave out the mostimportant info. I finally found it.

Decided to try this place because I was in the area. Cute place, nice staff and yummy food. Got the double cheeseburger with fries and a Coke. Got exactly what I was looking for and the Patty had a great texture and savory flavor. A+++

We go here for soft-serve ice cream. Thats all we ever get. But of course they have ice cream cones, sundaes and milk shakes. They also have burgers, etc. - and its all vegetarian. Family owned and operated since 1960.

The chilli dog was good. The only thing was that the menu was everywhere and a lil confusing.

Ive been coming here for some time. Theyve changed owners but still seem consistent. Theyve also added some items to thier menu and looks pretty tasty! The prices are not bad either. Soft serve is great though. Stop by, sit a spell and enjoy some Covina Tasty!!

The description was a little deceiving, old school walk up joint serving vegetarian versions of fast food Staples and vegan ice cream to me that ment that all the ice cream was vegan not just a few. I drove all the way from Riverside just to be disappointed that it was a few options and only the scoop kind in a cup. On top of that I ordered the vegan chili fries, well first there was no option for shredded cheese like in some of the pictures I saw people posted he had to cut up a slice and charged me an extra dollar Im used to paying extra but a dollar? And as for the chili Umm well it was just a bunch of chopped up veggies sauteed on top nothing again that resembled past photos. I also ordered the nuggets and almost $5 for 6 mini pieces thats crazy. I asked if they had a dipping sauce and he handed me a packet of BBQ I said do you have anything else and he brought me a tiny cup of what I think was sweet and sour sauce. Will not be coming back, I should of done better research.

Right down the street will adjust rating as i continue frequenting the location. pricing is reasonable but i ate the last piece of my daughter’s hot dog and it was not very tasty. made me queasy but daughter did not complain. the double vegan cheeseburger was definitely edible. to be fair their main sign and forte appears to be frozen ice cream and other tasty treats which i did not try. ill definitely be back and check out the other treats so nice to see this local place servín up the veeg foods!

I was here last night and I had a sundae and my friend had a banana split, it was a perfect evening for some ice cream. It was delicious and you can put what ever you want on your ice cream its the bomb! Its been so damn hot these days and ice cream makes it all better.

Decent food. Could be better. New owners. Good time for a cosmetic upgrade to this cool, old building. Seems they are still using the ancient menu board from old owner as you can still see the old (cheaper) prices. I want them to succeed, however, I’m concerned that the dilapidated state of the place will turn off customers. It’s obvious that plant-based food is hot at the moment and that a mainstream market exist so why not spend some money and do a decent cosmetic and menu upgrade? I know when you start a new business funds are tight, however, the alternative (closing down) has got to be worse. Judging from the lack of patrons I’m afraid that this place that’s been around since the 60’s could close down sooner rather than later. That would be a shame.

As always this place delivers above and beyond service. They work so hard and everything is so good. Obsessed with the chocolate banana milkshake. Also the vegetairian chili cheese fries are straight fire!!!

Cant believe this is vegan!

The service was slower than we expected, especially considering there werent many other customers. Cleanliness left a little to be desired. My husbands chicken sandwich was good. I didnt love my veggie burger. All the toppings were good and fresh but the burger itself was not my favorite. Fries were quite good.

The vegan burger was not all they way cook

Forget buying ice cream and eating it at home. Do yourself a favor and get a cone (or cup) of Covina Tasty Ice Cream! Shakes, malts, Boston shakes, ice cream with all the trimmings, and sundaes- you name it, some guy will make it! And its usually one or two guys, so expect a wait, grab several napkins, and witness frozen art in the making.

Does anyone realize that they have a recycling center that naturally attracts rats and roaches only feet away? Thanks but no thanks. Also, the place is run down, and usually a homeless crowd hangs out in the area. I would recommend to keep an eye on your car and make sure it was locked.

It’s such awesome spot. The parking is difficult because the parking lot is shared with a recycling center but it’s do-able. The area is a little ghetto but I highly recommend stopping by. I will be very honest and admit the chili fries and the chili dog were not very good. The chili is very bland but salt and ketchup help add more flavor. However the burgers are very tasty!! I reccomend getting a burger :) Cute little place. They do have a small seating area inside as well. For two people it runs around $20 depending on what you get.

Tasty restaurant in covina! Love their vegan burger, Karen is such a helpful employee along with the rest of the staff. They have plenty of comfort food options. From burgers to ice cream and milkshakes. Love their thai almond tea 😛 definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great place every time

All the food is good and much tastes better than the real meat items they replaced back in the 1960s. The owner is a nice guy who knows the history of the area and is also a talented painter with paintings on his walls. He even drives a 60s bug. Great hangout for veggies and non-veggies alike.

Sad there isnt many of these small ice cream shops left around. I really go for the butterscotch dipped cone, since nobody else in the area carries it.

I have been coming to this place for many years, since the 70s. Hardly anybody puts real malt in what others call malts. Most of those are shakes. Only place I know around here to get a real old fashioned malt.

The ice cream is really good. The root beer floats as well as the green tea ice cream is delicious. I would definetly recommend coming here again.

They only had 2 flavors of scooped vegan ice cream. The soft serve is regular dairy. Most of the food is vegetarian, and just frozen junk food at that. They also had a menu of Chinese food with real meat in it. So while they have some options if youre into eating vegetarian junk food, theyre not an entirely vegetarian place to get food, and the surroundings and setting are very dumpy.

Ive loved this place for over 30 years. Although its recently sold, and my beloved veggie taquitos are no longer on the menu, its just nice to be able to get vegetarian fast food.
