Great country craft store with lovely staff to answer your questions. The classes looked fun and the food smelled lovely. We thought the prices for some of the specialozed items were reasonable, considering some items were a little pricey. Make sure to go upstairs!

A comfy country store, geared towards sewers, quilters or just to browse around and have a homemade lunch or dessert with a loved one. The staff are beautiful helpful ladies and make the whole experience even better. This was one of my Moms favorite places to visit and you can still catch me enjoying a piece of carrot cake in her remembrance every once in awhile.

One of my moms favorite stores. I guess you have to be a sewer/quilter. Their materials were very pretty and a good variety. They also serve food, which I found interesting because the set up is sort of like the middle of the store...more like a tea place. we did not eat there, but maybe next time.

I was there for an event honoring their teaching staff. Lovely people and an amazing amount of talent in that room! At least half of the crafting teachers have been teaching at Piecemakers for over 25 years! The oldest teacher is 93! Shes a gem! A lovely lunch was had from their impressive kitchen. I cant say enough good things about this place. If you love soft crafting and a homespun environment, this is for you.

My grandmother Lura used to bring me here as a kid all of the time she was a wonderful quilt maker she had a business called busy bees. She would have my sister and I in classes doing arts and crafts. There is a beautiful Museum upstairs and all of the beautiful fabrics and decorations.Im 40 years old as of Jan 19th.My grandmother passed in 2005.I still think about this place. Going there with grandma is one of my most favorite memories as a child. I think of this store often. It brings me sorrow that my uncle gave all of my grandmothers quilts away to one of her friends and that friend passed away and no one has her families phone numbers so its been years but I wish I owned all of them they were beautiful she had a pansie quilt that was with deep purples and it was so pretty. I do have a blanket she made me as a kid in the 80s-90s.I miss my grandmother Lura Smith. Id just like to thank piece makers for being such a memorable store and museum2. I would love to take any classes they may offer. I know its a long shot but does anyone know if they still offer classes here?Love you piece makers in memory of my beautiful grandma Lura

It has always been a dream of mine to be able to sew my own clothes but I’ve been too intimidated to try. I finally decided to make the leap and take a private lesson. I’m so glad I did. I had the honor of working with Rossanna who is a seasoned seamstress/sewist who welcomed me with warmth and wit. She was very patient and encouraging throughout my lesson. I didn’t feel rushed during the lesson in the slightest. We were laughing and I felt that we both were enjoying the lesson. Before I knew it the two hours were over! Time truly does fly when you’re having fun. I’m eager to continue to learn with Rossanna and hope to make my own clothes one day. Thank you so much for everything!

This place is FANTASTIC! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Piecemakers has inventory I just cant find in my neck of the woods. They carry a great assortment of fabrics including 1800s & 1930s prints. There is a beautiful assortment of yarns, felts in colors that I cant find elsewhere, drawers of beads in various shapes and sizes, ingredients for making soaps and so much more! Upstairs are beautiful quilts and embroidered linens for sale. They have various classes you can take for every age: sewing and craft projects. You can rent a room for sewing parties. Take time to stop in their kitchen for a homemade meal or take time out for tea. You must check out their website, there is so much going on here to list it all.

I LOVE this place. I have been coming here for years. Its more than just a quilt store. Its an experience. You have to go. There is no other place like it in southern California that I know of. The staff treat you like old friends. They know us regulars on a first name bases. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Besides the quilt fabrics, they have ribbons galore, books, magazines, art supplies, antiques, and a tea room. The food is like what your mom or grandma would cook. Just good old fashioned yummy stuff. And did I mention the desserts. Oh my gosh, the carrot cake is to die for! Oh and I forgot to mention the old fashioned candy counter that they have. Plus they have all kinds of classes that you can take, from traditional quilting to home decor, jewelry classes, soap making, cooking classes, ribbon embroidery, calligraphy. You name it,they probably teach it. They have the best instructors too. Some are locals, others come from as far away as Australia to teach here. Piecemakers is just such a unique place. You have to experience it. Take a class there one day with friends, have a tasty lunch and go back to shop another day . Theres so much to do and see there that you cant do it all in one day. Plus they have craft fairs and festivals. I could go on and on. Its just such an amazing place that brings a smile to your face when you walk in and see all the marvelous eye candy, smell the delicious food being cooked and welcomed like an old friend or family member. Like the Cheers theme song says, Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name and theyre ALWAYS glad you came. This is that place. You have to go and experience it . You will love it!

Lovely ladies extend themselves to make sure your visit is just the beginning of many more. Its also encouraging to see so many young ones being taught these eternally satisfying needle-and-thread skills. I want to give this place five stars, because its huge, well stoked, fascinating, offers classes, sells really tasty food as well as arts and crafts supplies, but the staff holds me back from doing so. It seems to be entirely staffed by older folks who can sometimes be hard to talk to because theyre not super familiar with the newer names for things [they didnt know what a fat quarter was but did know what a quilters quarter was, and theyre the same thing, for example] and they sometimes seem too look down on newer crafters, though I dont know yet if this holds true for the classes they offer. Other than that, I love this place. Besides the hair salon, food, and second hand shop, which are all also inside the store, they have stuff for soap making, quilting, needle point, jewellery making and bread work, doll making, knitting and crochet, and so much more. I would suggest anyone who likes Mom and Pop stores and is an artist and/or crafter to check the place out!
