Food was excellent. I had the vegan soyrizo burrito and it was very tasty. Often vegan burritos can be dry and pretty bland, not this one at all. I believe the soyrizo was made from tofu and had a red sauce mixed in with it. It was super flavorful and 10/10 would recommend. Burrito size was smaller than chipotle but bigger than del taco. Just right. :) sauce that came with it was refreshing. service and ambience is excellent.
Good service. Patio area is not ideal since it’s were a lot of people are passing by so it gets a little noisy. Great deal on champagne bottles to have a cute brunch. I do Hate with a capital H all the plastic that was used 😔 but hopefully we will find other solutions soon. My friends ordered the avocado toast and were not super thrilled about it. So then he ordered a burrito but turns out it was too small to share lol I enjoyed my order very much except for the goat cheese, next time I would order with out, if you are not use to the taste it’s an acquired taste. The parking is not very big for all the small businesses inside so Uber or carpool if you can.
So delicious, honestly one of the best tasting/healthy/beautiful meals Ive had in Orange County
Their bottomless mimosas are gone. The food is still good as it has ever been. I only really chose this place over the Memphis due to their bottomless Mimosas and outdoor seating. Now that is gone and the alternative is a joke: 3 hot sauce cups filled with juice and a bottle of champagne. Feels like they are being cheap more than being safe. Btw if you get a regular mimosa, they only fill 1/3 of the cup or less. This place used to have Mason jars filled to the top.
Enjoyed their curry wrap and the salad with delicious dressing.
This place is worth giving a shot. They serve large portions for affordable rates. Consistently neat and with good ambience. Will come visit again.
SO FREAKING GOOD and the cutest cafe in town. Good and very fresh food with great options from healthy to sweet.I love their patio area for when I have my pup with me. When I first moved to Costa Mesa I would come here about 3 times a week to eat and shop around. Perfect spot to do a little computer work and eat a nice meal during down times.
Gypsy vibes with a great selection of drinks. I got the mayan mocha and it was very delicious and not too strong. Their vanilla chai is also one of my favorites. If youre looking to snack or have lunch they have food options as well. Nachos are definitely an item to try.
The Den was SO good. I had a burger and salad that made my day. Brandon was very attentive and kind. Food felt very healthy. Great experience.
Great location and ambiance. Food and service was fantastic. Smallish menu but have every diet covered. Enjoyed sitting on the cushy patio chatting. Would definitely make this a regular hangout.
When my sister attended UCI, we used to frequent this establishment pretty often because she had a penchant for the eclectic decor and chill vibe. It has nice indoor/outdoor seating and had a reminiscent Berkeley feel.I recently grabbed a quick dinner here ordering the same thing I used to: Chicken Waldorf Croissant ($11). The chicken salad is comprised of chicken, crisp green apples, grapes, walnuts, celery mixed with mayo served with mixed greens sandwiched between a croissant. I opted to upgrade my side (for an additional $2 dollars) for a cup of the veggie chipotle chili. The chili is hearty with beans, onions, and corn topped with cheddar cheese. My croissant was teeny tiny and the chicken salad was inserted very sparingly - I felt like I ate more croissant than inert. I think I ate more grapes than chicken. And yes, I understand, theres a movement of healthy eating, but the chicken salad could have benefitted from a little more mayo. My, much has changed over the years.I liked like chili - very hearty with veggies. Waitstaff was great, but overall, my meal was very meh and I would be hesitant to come back.
Best bourbon bacon Ive ever had. The rest of the burger was good too
Funky set up but goid food and service. I wi visit again when in the area
Eclectic little place for a relaxed breakfast or lunch. Nice outdoor space with shade. Simple menu with good healthy food.In a cute alternative shoping area. My only issue is all the invasive grass planted in the landscaping destroys the green earthy vibe. Someone really should have used Tree of Life Nursery instead.
Was crowded on Sun and took almost an hour to order and get our food. Food was 4 star
Cute little eatery with a healthy vibe. Easy to order to-go, and prices are decent. Theres lots of vegetarian options and a few meat options as well. I liked the turkey burger and my husband liked the chicken pesto sandwich. Also love going to this little mall and roaming around!
Very cool and unique whole in the wall restaurant at a dope mini shopping plaza. They have a great selection of organic food and their beer selection is not bad either. If I remember correctly, they have a happy hour that makes your visit well worth it!
Yummy food. The service was friendly. The food took a little longer to come out than I would have liked, but they refilled our mimosas often which was nice! Bottomless mimosas that are filled often was great! Would definitely come here again.
This is a really low-key but very comfortable place. Its a nice place to go if you want to hang out with your friends. The waitress helping us was really cute and friendly. The French toast was pretty tasty.
Vegetarian menu, but some items can be veganized. Awesome flavors, location.amd staff.
This was my first time here. What a cute eclectic unique place. Great food and great atmosphere. Definately will be coming back.
Good creative simple fresh food; a delightful Oasis in a desert of over processed fast food. Love having the option to sit outdoors. Never feel rushed. Quiet enough inside and out for good conversation. Highly recommend their soup and chili.
A pretty pleasant place to sit outside. Not a super fan of the menu but I am picky. The cinnamon role was delicious and even possibly healthy.
This is an interesting place to eat. It is located in The Lab Antimall. The food is pretty good and seems pretty healthy. There is an unique, free spirit kind of vibe that pervades this center and the shops and restaurants. Its kind of funky, but fun.
I love the 2 layer carrot cake and the cheesecake and cinnamon rolls are also 👌👍😁
Great menu with a nice happy hour. Outside seats for our dog Charlie who also loves the place. (He gets carrots sometimes)
One of my favorite cafes in Orange County! Great outdoor location feels like a garden, and inside is the nostalgic and artsy feel of the days past start to the coffee house movement. The coffee is smooth and the Teas are uniquely and refreshingly flavored. If you can afford a couple calories, try the Waldorf Chicken Sandwich made on a buttery croissant and backed up with the Adobe Stew. Enjoy!
Cool vibe but the food was really mediocre. Ordered the kale and black bean bowl and it was akin to Chipotle. Pretty pricey if its essentially equivalent to fast food. Service was pretty slow.
This cafe is on my top ten lists of places to grab a bite to eat while lingering at on your computer or watching the crowd of well dressed beautiful people mingle . To be honest I usually just order a mocha when I stop by....A+++ for ambiance
Gypsy Den always scores 5 stars in my book. I love the location in the Lab as well as Downtown Santa Ana. The vibe at the Lab location in Costa Mesa is chill and chic. I spent several hours lounging on comfy outdoor couches this weekend sipping my chai tea and munching avocado toast. The weather was perfect outside and the servers were all nice.
Scooter food very new age super healthy little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for somewhere I definitely suggest having for lunch or nice brunch spot nice little intimates place you can take a date out on. also their promotions are really delicious for a decent price I suggest you get those every time
Great vibe, love the atmosphere. Great for breakfast and lunch, or a quick bite with coffee. They do live music the first Friday of every month. And bottomless mimosas until 3pm on Saturday and Sunday. Outdoor and indoor seating available
The atmosphere is just my cup of tea. Provides something for everyone. Brought here when I first moved into town, and continue to bring folks from out of town to visit. The tuna melt is spectacular.I wouldnt recommend purchasing from the wine menu because it is well overpriced. Paid $9 for a glass of wine that I could have purchased a full bottle at the store for the same price.
Love the atmosphere. I had the best veggie burger I have ever tasted! Great service! Cant wait to go back!
Best orange juice in Costa Mesa. Hands down. Awesome selection of vegan and gluten free options. You can fill up here on wholesome food and not feel terrible after the fact.
Ok, 1st off this place is all about the atmosphere. If you try ordering from the menu and it is not coffee or something in a cup, then expect to wait...a while for it. The Gypsy Dens are noted for among other things their decor and vegan/veggie dishes. I go here to study or read when i dont want to be in-doors. The food prices are pretty average overall. I like this place.
Great service, amazing food. Good vibe.
True to their mall heritage they wouldnt allow my friend to eat with me with his food from seabirds even though I ordered food here. Seems like a real easy going communal spot to me.
I just wish they still would serve their signature creme brulee. It was the best one around and it was a great value. It is a shame that they stop serving that.
Nice choice if youre looking for a cute little hipster place. Food and staff is very good.
The best coffee you’ll ever find in quite the eclectic place from decor to clientele.
Lots of vegan and vegetarian options, decent service, prices about on par for LA/Orange County area.
The food was awesome with great service!
Such a nice vibe and delicious food full of nutrition, ate on the patio, it was really nice!
One of my favorite weekend lunch spots for many years. The tuna melt is amazing, the coffee pretty fantastic too (try the frozen banana mocha), and now I see they have great beers too.
Im usually here for coffee, but the food is really good too! Never had a bad experience. Always a great place to go and meet up with friends, or just hang out to get away from everything else.
Great atmosphere, delicious food with many vegetarian and vegan options all wonderful.
Very trendy inexpensive food not worth your time or money
Went there to get my favorite, cream cheese, black olive, and sprouts, on whole grain bread. Thay said they had never heard of it.Not my favorite place anymore.
The turkey burger was really good! Went there during happy hour and got santeria, good price for the amount I was given! Definitely coming again
Used to go here daily in college for Spice Chai Lattes & day old bread. Not bad for when youre on a budget & are new to the whole coffee shop scene.Dont know if they do any of that anymore & I should probably make a pilgrimage back.
Good food if your looking for variety and want to try something different.
I havent been here since 1997. The food was good, the coffee excellent, but really the best thing is the laid back, artsy atmosphere that took me right back to my college days.
Excellent salads. Service was ok, dishes are very tasty. Fresh.
The food is amazing I will give them that, as for the service it was horrible. The 1st time I came to gypsy den I waited at least 15 min to get my order taken, and they werent busy at all. The second time I came they forgot our drinks, we didnt get them until after the food arrived. It also doesnt help when their attitude towards you is not welcoming at all. I refuse to come back here again.
Great food and good service. Love the querky and homie feeling to this place!
Lovely little café! Great vegetarian food!
Good food, slow but friendly service. Be aware of nude artwork if you choose to take your kids.
Great food and drinks for brunch, friendly staff. I would eat here again
Almost everything here is delicious and the hummas platter is good. I like coming here from time to time.
I had their breakfast burrito and a bloody mary. Very good and the burrito was almost too much for me to eat. Ill be back.
I had the chicken pita and it was absolutely fantastic I cant wait to come back great atmosphere this place rocks got to try it
County Health forced them to shut down on 6/25/20 due to an overwhelming infestation of Cockroaches
Great organic food. Prices are reasonable.
Whenever we are traveling from SB down to SD we stop by one of the lovely locations. The treasure bowl is truly special and the Mayan Mocha is a personal fav. I highy recommend having breakfast here!
Great location and atmosphere, but unfortunately our experience was mediocre. They were not very busy but our server seemed to forget to enter our order and after we waited for at least 20mins she rushed to tell us it would be out in 5min. Then we were missing part of our order. Portions and flavor were lacking.
This place reminds me of Berkeley. The concept of the LAB being this trendy hipstery scene and having this Gypsy Den totally make the unique experience more . This is an one of a kind spot in so cal where you can introduce any of your friends and theyll be wowd. I truly love this cafe.
Morning eggs with goat cheese was so good, same for strawberry jam 😍
Good coffee. Great prices. Fun atmosphere
Food that comes out of a package, some of the worst, least attentive, service I have ever received and honnestly not even decent vegan options. (Also terrible parking) .I have been here twice and each time was dissapointed by food I could have easily made at home for much cheaper. On the positive side seems like a great coffee shop, cute atmosphere in a cool aread but not good for food.
Food was good, service was bad. It took 15 minutes to get a waiter to my table, and it wasnt a busy day.I ordered something, and I never got it but they still charged it on the check.Second time I went, the waiter didnt evenseem as though he wanted to be there, he just seemed annoyed. Not coming back
Something seems OFF with the service staff. A tad socially awkward. The Gypsy-ness seems a little unauthentic like maybe a corporate investment entity paid an interior decorator to BoHo/Gypsy it up. Just a hunch. I might be back, maybe, but it would be to just show the whole area to a friend. The service staff ruined it for us. We got the impression that they had something better to do and would rather not be there on the job. Much less take pride in a job well done. Debbie Downers if you know what I mean. Heavy vibes that were difficult to ignore.
Ive been coming here for years. The menu has changed over the last year or so and I am not a fan of the decreased options and increased prices. But Gypsy Den holds a special place in my heart for the amount of times Ive gone there.
Great food/ Great service!
The food is amazing, drinks even better, prices perfect!!
Food, service, and atmosphere were amazing!!!
Good Banana Vanilla Coffee Iced Blend!
This time they ripped me off for three bucks. Lousy service, questionable cleanliness. The food is just average or below, but I guess its good, according to most of the weirdies that go there. If you enjoy getting taken, being ignored, and lukewarm food then i highly recomend this joint.
Very few GF/veg options, Joaquin helped me customize a beet salad with avacado instead of cheese. A good meal for the price and vibes. Thanks Joaquin
I went there one time with a friend to meet up for coffee/tea and I heard that this place was so good. To be honest, I got an iced chai tea latte and it was kind of meh. It was overpriced and nothing to write home about.
Good Vegan 🌱 food options and coffee ☕️
Delicious coffee and desserts. Atmosphere.
The Gypsy Den is what I envision when I think of coffee shops. The cute decor is appealing and I love coming here for a cup of coffee or tea. Its such an awesome place to soak in some atmosphere and just relax.I was here last year to celebrate Diwali with a friend. We had the sundae with some pirate chai and a hot cocoa. The pirate chai was right up my alley. Some chai can be too sweet and this was just right. They also have a banana mocha that I have yet to try but Ive been curious about it for a long time. When the weather is right, I like to chill on their outdoor patio. Its also perfect during the winter because of the heat lamps. I love that this place is now within walking distance and I can come here anytime I want.
Worst experience ever, felt totally uncomfortable thanks to the staff. They werent attentive, and lacked basic social manners. Seems a bit sad considering its such a nice place. Need new staff ASAP! Dont recommend this place to ANYONE!
Great place to go for vegetarian and vegan friendly foods!
Been dining here since they opened and the last time was the worst service and food prep ever.. Manager did not charge for one of the meals.. We did leave full bill plus tip
Best coffee in the O.C. Organic coffee and food.Friendliest staff quaint interior with fireplace and outdoor seating. Their also on the perk app to earn free coffee.
Not bad.. place looks good..food quality is ok
👍🏼🥰👍🏼 YUMMY BRUNCH OPTIONS
