Booked a van online on 7/1/21 PM for 7/2/21 9 AM pickup. I showed up at 9:15 AM, they told me that they called me at 7:30 AM to let me know the vehicle was unavailable, which I didnt see since I was sleeping. The guy at the counter seemed very unapologetic, emphasizing the fact that they left me a voicemail and I booked late on a holiday weekend. I understand that theres a high demand for rentals on a holiday weekend, but the website should not allow me to book and waste my time driving to Hertz if the vehicle is unavailable. And I didnt like how the guy at the counter made it sound like it was my fault for booking late and not checking my voicemail.

I purchased a 2018 Nissan Altima SL in early July from Hertz Car Sales in Costa Mesa. I am very happy with the experiences in process and completely satisfied with the car I purchased. Salesman Javier was professional, courteous, and timely in communications. As a result of friendly efforts from Javier and the manager Michael, I have actually bought an one-year old $32,000 luxury car which looks like 98% new and runs like new for literally half of the new car price. This has become my best car shopping experience in 29 years. Prior to come to this dealership, I had looked around for a month focusing on dealerships with perfect review scores. After all, I have to say that this Hertz Car Sales at Costa Mesa is the best one compared to others I visited. Their cars are generally better at the comparable price. Thanks Javier and Michael.

Hertz cars can be a good deal if you know what you are getting when you buy. This is my second car purchased from Hertz and I am happy. Never had to utilize their warranty although my car was high mileage. Got a great deal on a newer car and no one was ever the wiser that it used to be a rental. Their warranty upsell is intense but just need to politely turn down. Never seen it as necessary.

I would recommend Hertz Car Sales in Costa Mesa to ANYONE looking to purchase a vehicle! Javier is AMAZING to work with. As a single female I had an absolutely terrible experience with Huntington Beach Dodge/Jeep/Ram so I went back to Hertz where I had casually been car shopping a few months ago. They never pressured me when I walked off the lot a few months ago which is part of why I went back to them (in addition to their great customer service). The process was effortless and I got a great deal. I’m so happy with the car!

Its no wonder that this company has declared bankruptcy. Their website says theyll deliver a car to your location, which would have been great as we were moving from out-of-state during the pandemic.In reality theyll barely return a call or email. It seemed like they were not really interested in selling cars.  Everything was haphazard. For example, they gave me rental car accident report forms, but no copy of the bill of sale, a second key (replacements cost nearly $400), warranty paperwork, or owners manual. The car came with 3 good tires, and one worn, mismatched tire that caused the car to vibrate at freeway speed.  When I complained about the tire and asked for the correct paperwork, my emails were not returned. Hertzs price was less than what I would have paid elsewhere, but much of the savings were eaten up fixing their failures. Oh -- and tell Adam that wearing a face shield is not a substitute for wearing a mask.

It has been a hassle to get work done that was promised at the time of purchase. It has been very difficult to consistently get someone on the phone to help. I am very disappointed with the experience.

The person setting appointments to buy a car was extremely rude. He hung up the phone when I said I wanted the car delivered.

Just purchased a Chevy Malibu for my daughter and Sean provided a wonderful experience for my family. There was no pressure or haggling and the prices for certified used vehicles are much lower than other dealerships. Chris, the general manager was hilarious and also made our experience memorable. It was a little rough at first the car i bought had a couple dings in it. I had some family stuff going on by the store manager Michael arkins took care of me. He helped me out, he fixed all the dents and the car looks brand new. He really took care of me. I would definitely recommend giving hertz a look if your shopping for a used car. 👍

We went in to get a hatchback that was reliable and around or under $10,000. Sean was extremely helpful in comparing the different hatchbacks they had in that price point. He never made us uncomfortable by trying to sell us things we didnt want or that was out of our price point. He and the other people there were very friendly and humurous making the car buying process a lot less stressful.

We bought a Mazda 2 from them a couple weeks ago. Loved the experience overall. Great staff, lots of selections. We had Michael Galloway as our salesman and he was excellent! Not pushy at all. This is your best bet instead of Carmax.A++++

I just bought a Nissan Versa from them. Awesome experience and a very helpful staff! Gina Aguilar in particular was wonderful! She was not pushy like other sales people at other places. We told her exactly what we were looking for and showed us to exactly what we wanted. She was able to let us take a test drive and couldnt have been nicer. Overall great experience and I will for sure recommend this place to everyone!

Had a great experience here. Was looking for something for my family and I to be comfortable in and thats exactly what they did. Bryan and Johh are very knowledgeable about the cars they have in their lot and if something is wrong theyll fix it. I bought my Hyundai 2016 for a great price and drived right off feeling satisfactory. You cant beat the deals here and most of all the condition you get it in as if the car was brand new cant beat that either. Had my car for a little while now and so far no problems and a big smile on my face. This branch is great! Hertz is awesome, if you looking to spend money for a new car, I recommend you come here because you will get what you want and sometimes even better, in my case better. At first glance, I was impressed with the sales team. But later, in hindsight, I realized they are no different than any car sales team pushing you to buy everything. KIAs come with 10 year/100k miles warranty. The Hertz sales team told us that this warranty does not transfer to 2nd owners, trying to sell us an extended warranty. We did buy the Sportage and I then took it to KIA for their multipoint inspection. Found out that the original warranty converts to a 5 year/60k mile warranty for 2nd owners. There was also a software upgrade recall from January 2019 that had not been done. So, just do your own research on the car youre interested in before buying it. Overall, its still a very good deal, and the car passed inspection with no issues.

Applied online for financing to get a car, two days later it was accepted! I was told to come down to pick it up the next day. Drove 75 miles, waited at the office for two hours just to hear they cant get the loan for the finance they acccepted... All they said to come back next time with a big deposit then Ill be fine, (why did you tell me I was approved in the first place). wow what a waste of time and gas. No I wont be coming back, since you couldnt get it right the first time, its a waste on customers money.

I recently purchased a 2012 Hyundai Elantra.At the time it was the lowest price around for the year and miles.I was looking for a very specific car, and when I saw it come up, I hurried over there to see it. I saw it before it was washed, detailed. In fact when I got there it was getting driven off the lot to get new tires put on. ......so keep that in mind......They said that when I bought it, everything would be fixed and ready to go.I bought it a few days later after they were done servicing it.However, when driving the car off the lot, I noticed:1. gas tank was nearly empty.(other dealerships give a full tank)(they put in half tank for me after I asked)2. I had to ask for spare / tire repair kit. I had to check myself and saw it wasnt in the trunk.3. Car was detailed, but none of the dents/dings were repaired as promised.(I called and they sent a repair guy to my work to fix them free of charge)so, they kind of resolved all of my problems that I had, but if I hadnt asked about them, none of them would have gotten done. Makes me feel like they would do anything to save themselves a buck.

I bought a used Toyota Prius from this Hertz five months ago, and I still absolutely love it. The process was as close to painless as you can get. My sales associate, Sean Katelan, was awesome--incredibly patient and personable, and I never felt pressured to buy anything. I would totally recommend that anyone see him, and if I or my husband need a car in the future, well definitely be going back.

I am in the process of re-establishing my credit, not only did Bryan and Anita NOT turn me away, but they went above and beyond what I could have ever hoped to happen! First off, Anita was able to get me approved for the car I had first chosen, took my information and with her relationships with the different banks and lenders, she got me approved with the down payment I had picked and the car payment I wanted! Second, I had looked at a more expensive car, and instead of the normal salesman attitude of yeah its more monthly but we can get you into that car, Bryan didnt try to make more money, but instead was honest and straight forward. He suggested that since I am trying to rebuild my credit, stick with the car that I had initially picked, its within my budget and economical. So I ended up with a great down payment, the monthly payment that I wanted and a car that I am absolutely in love with and so glad I chose! I will recommend these guys to anyone and everyone whether I know you or not, they treat you respect and are honest with you! We will defibitely bring our business back to these guys no question about it!

Drove all the way from the inland empire to see a car I called in about the previous day. Once I asked the sales guy about making a down payment of about half the cars cost (8000), he said that banks wouldnt let me put more than about 1,000, which sounded really untrue. Seemed like he was trying to make it really difficult for me to purchase. A day or two later the car was sold.

If I could give 10 stars I would! Best ever car-buying experience. My son bought a 2016 like new car that will last for years to come for thousands less than we would have paid anywhere else. We had been looking. The salesman was no pressure, calm, couteous and friendly. He is the top salesguy there and I am not surprised. He is patient. The sales manager is also good at his job. He answered all our questions. We were there less than an hour from walking onto lot thru signing papers and walking out with the key!!! Need a car? Go to Hertz in Costa Mesa!!!!

Well, if youre in the market for a good car at a great price and working with a guy that will get you that car, his name is Kenny. This guy will not only get you that car but help set up your car maintenance and insurance. Hes also an expert at Uber and shares that knowledge, where to go, when to go. Dont rent here! Rrserved a 4x4 three weeks before Thanksgiving. Arrived on Wednesday and they did not have my vehicle. No one in the area had vehicles as it was the day before Thanksgiving. Management and customer service here is awful.

We were helping our daughter purchase a car September 2016 and we had a great experience with Bryan B. No rush, no waiting, no pressure, no stress, no gimmicks. We highly recommend this place.

I was shopping for a first car for my daughter recently and saw options for buying used rental cars in my searches. My natural reaction was people abuse rental cars because its not their property.. Right? But just out of curiosity I had to check out Hertz since their prices were so competitive. I was so wrong. Hertz in CM had the car we wanted at $2k below kbb and these cars were so well maintained and very clean. My whole perception changed into many of these cars are rented by business professionals that dont necessarily thrash cars on their business trips. OK maybe beware if you are buying a rental Camaro but hey, a Kia? Should be a safe bet. Also these rentals are purchased on fleet prices and maintenance is very professional. I am very happy with our decision.
