Friendly service. The appointment took longer than expected and it was unclear of when my car would be ready, but they were overall very helpful and have done a good job with both of my appointments.

I had a nail on my tire and they patched it really fast! The staff was very friendly, and it was less than what I expected it to be. I will definitely be back!

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!!! Made an appointment, showed up and was told they were not expecting me and that it would take 3+ hours for a oil changed. I opted to reschedule that day for an appointment the following week because things happen, and everyone deserves a second chance right? I show up 10 minute early to the next appointment, no other cars waiting, and was told it would still take 1.5 hrs to complete my oil change, even with an appointment. Which is utterly ridiculous, but at this point I just wanted the job done so I waited. 2.5+ hours later my oil change is finally complete and I will never visit another pep boys again. Terrible experience, I will make sure my friends, co workers, and customers avoid pep boys at all cost. Valvoline is a much better experience if your looking for a oil change, don’t waste your time here.

Just to be clear, Pep Boys is no longer a parts store anymore. They do service and tires only. So if youre looking for parts, you may want to try somewhere else. Otherwise, PB is your place!

I’d give these clowns a 0 if I could. Totally Incompetent management. Dropped my car off at at 11am, was told car would be ready in 3 hours. Received a call at 5:15pm that car was getting oil finally changed and to pick it up at 5:50pm. Was not told shop closed at 6 pm. Website also shows a 7pm closing time. When my Uber finally arrived at the shop at 6:01, I was told by the lazy manager that it was impossible to close out the register. Avoid this shop at all costs.

Had a battery issue and we are from Vegas. Guys took care of us first. 15 minutes and we were back on the road. Love these guys

Made an appointment for new tires installation, when I got there they told me that they didnt have it in stock, and rescheduled for the next day and said they would have the tires. I called in the next day before driving all the way there to make sure they had gotten the tires. They told me they still hadnt gotten it. Didnt even bother calling and letting me know.

Chris was great. Got all four tires done while we we went to the fair. Were able to pick the car up after hours.

Spent over 5 hours here for a basic oil change and two tires changed. Was told there was no way to look up if my tires were under warranty even though I bought the tires less than a year ago from pep boys. Told there was no way to look up history of purchases as well.

It was a good place to get your stuff, sadly is closed. Just the tire shop is in business.

Havent been there for quite a while. Still a good place for accessories like license plate frames and similar items because they have a fairly wide selection. Prices seem competitive.

Made a reservation For oil change on July 14 for Sunday July 18. For 75.00 oil it went up to 130.00. Had a coupon for 30% off. So I said ok. Then they said no filter. So we reschedule again for Tuesday July 19. Was there 30 minutes before. 2 minutes before opening. This Customer use the 2nd door for employee to come in and they Servant her with another customer behind her, then me. So I left. They lost 32 year Customer

Id rate 0 but I cant. Never going here again. The parts department is good but this 0 is for thier service department. Theyre a bunch of slackers. They tried telling me an oil change and tire repair will be 6 hours. Took my car over to mountain view in tustin and got treated so much better and over all quicker. Corporate better come for the service advisers cuz they only want the big Specialist jobs. If you got something small, look elsewhere.Edit: Shout out to Pete and Mike at Mountainview tires.

Rotors warped in 5,000 miles. Went back to get them under warranty and Chris was the worse help. Wanted to charge us $200+ to re do their own work that was poorly done. Worst customer service ever you can tell they don’t care about you, they only care about stealing from your pockets.

Service was good from phone call that they had my tires in stock. Showed up, got through the check in, car put on the rack with wheels off. Guess what no tires in stock. Had to wait even longer as they went to pick up tires and I was held hostage because vehicle was up on the rack with no wheels. They wouldnt even take the old tires off the rims to get a head start. 1st time customer, last time time customer all in a matter of hours. Never again.

Came in with absolutely no idea what was wrong with my car, they diagnosed the issue very quickly, kept me updated and finished the repair in record time. They were also kind enough to point out that my tires were in rough shape and hooked me up with a great set at an affordable price. I would recommend these guys for anyones car.

I got in and left within about 6 minutes, made an appointment online and they couldnt fill in the space to change transmission oil. Pep boys needs to update their online schedule making. All good though, I enjoyed the drive.

Had an appointment for @ 4:30 Friday so they can check the balancing on my tire that I purchased here. Showed up about 15 minutes early, waited to be checked in, mechanic said they would not have time to inspect my car told me to come back Sunday morning and that no appointment was necessary, he said he would be here to help with my car issue, he’s not here they have no cars they are working on and they’re telling me about an 1 1/2 to 2 hours to check the balancing on my tires, and that’s with an appointment I made after they told me I didn’t need one. 4 mechanics at work but none of them working on cars. Service center is open with no cars in the stalls!!!!Never bringing my car to pepboys again

THANKS GUYS! I went To firestone tires on 17th street, they made up some nonsense about air compressor going out, so I came here LAST MINUTE and James and Brian helped me out! Had a nail stuck in my tire. The guys were able to fix it despite being so close to closing hours. These guys are a fine example of good customer service and willingness to work! 🙏🏽

Had scheduled a simple oil change that should take a no longer than 25 minutes they quote me an hour and a half which I decide to wait patiently an hour 45 rolls around no call Im staring at my car just parked in their lot not moving so I decide to call. they tell me that they had a confusion they didnt know what oil to use even though there is already an order for it and that now its going to take an additional 45 minutes. no one bothered to call me or even ask they got to wait till I called them of course even though they had all my information and still I am here waiting worse service place ever STAY AWAY.

They told my wife that her car needed a new solenoid emissions valve and many other new parts as well. I go to find where this is located on the car to replace it to find that’s it’s only unplugged. Not to mention they triple part prices compared to any other auto dealer. Unacceptable I ended up spending less than $150 for parts and they were trying to charge me almost $1000. Get a another honest diagnosis form someone else if you want to save money.

This Iocation is located on Bristol wedged between The Lab and Del Taco. They have all of the standard services like the regular Pep Boys locations. Everything is easy to locate and find in the store. I always like their stores as they carry some items you will not find at other auto parts store. These would be items to customize your ride and to call it your own. The folks who work here are nice and helpful. They keep many more parts in stock than the competition. The check out is usually quick, but there are times it does back up since they only have one register open most of the time. For me, I spent the better part of ten minutes waiting in line. If it wasnt for this, I would give them 5 stars.

Stay away from this place. Total rip off, dont know what they’re doing. I got my radiator replaced there, paid 1500.00 dollars, i drive away and my car stalls on me. I take it back, and the guy forgot to plug in my alternator. A year later my car over heats, i take it back the guy says, the hose on the radiator wasn’t plugged in. They obviously dont know what they’re doing. Stay away stay away

I took my car in to get my car battery replaced. I was treated nicely and the battery change took only about 20 minutes, even with a line. Total price for my car battery with free installation was about $125 after taxes and fees.

I had triple A tow my car there this morning to Pep Boys. They said it would be 3 hours but took care of me in one hour. Louis was so nice and attentive to me. I received a flat tire yesterday and it was already nerve racking to tow it last night and again in the morning but they took care of me. Thank you

Best place! Had an emergency with a dead battery and the mechanic was kind enough to let us come in at the end of the night and get it replaced. Had to have car jumped to get here, and if I turned off engine, car would not start again. I go to UCI and its finals week. Was very thankful that they were so kind and helpful and had my car running in no time. VERY THANKFUL!

Not as bad as the other comments but I had been waiting over an hr to replace a battery. There was only one other car in the shop. Plenty of workers there as well. Try and avoid if possible. I used to go to the shop in La Habra and never had an issue with service.

We came in with a nail in our wheel, they pulled out the nail and when the tire was fine, we ended up walking away with no charge. They even put the tire back on our car for us. Really positive experience! Would definitely go back, and feel like they wont overcharge or up sell me.

Very fast service. The staff is pretty friendly. For the most part, if you shop their sales floor, many employees will greet you in different departments. The service department is a little different, its not bad, they just have a i mean business attitude which is cool since I was literally trying to get in and out as fast as possible. The mechanic did leave the old bulb with the new bulb in the door of my trunk, but other than that, id probably go back here

Terrible experience!! made an appointment, there was no cars being worked on, and they later come saying after an hour “ are you waiting for something” turned out they didn’t even took my information down why i was there, ridiculous, so i took my keys and left, only went there because it was close to my place, not going there, don’t recommend

Bad experience, it was 5:50 pm on a Saturday night. The service agent at the front desk told me there was no chance that he could help with a leaking tire problem. I get it, they close at 6:00 pm. Sometimes its the dismissive attitude that really turns people off.Turns out, there was definitely a screw/nail in the tire.

Came in for an oil change, was ecstatic to find out that this location doesnt close until 9pm. After working a 11hr shift I arrived by 8pm and they tell me they dont have a closing mechanic and they their shop is closed. So misleading and so disappointing.

Heading back up to Cherokee in Sherrys 72 Eurovan when the engine light goes on. One of the local service stations wanted $145 to check the code to see if it is a go or no go item. Uh, thanks but no thanks. On the way to the freeway, we stopped by Pep Boys in Bristol in Costa Mesa. Parts Dept loaned us the machine to check the code. A tech showed us how, read the codes, and said we could drive home safely with no problem. NO CHARGE! I buy car covers, wax, mats, oil etc. there and will continue to so forever!!! Kudos to Pep Boys! Outstanding courtesy and customer service!

Worse service I ever received from that store. Was told to wait 3hrs to change a battery while mechanics stand around waiting for parts to come. If you can quickly help someone you should, not blow them off. I will not return to that store under any circumstances. There was no excuse to not help me in a quick manner.

Ive had without doubt the worse car service experience at the COSTA MESA Pep boys. Can someone please tell me how I can talk to someone from Corporate and provide constructive feedback on this?1. My credit card left in my coat jack in the trunk went missing and I have a $46 stolen gas charge at the exact time the car was in service (not implying card was stolen by employees; trying to figure out how the card might have otherwise dropped out of my jacket accidentally?) Also assuming the thief knew my zip code?2. I booked ahead (4 days ahead) for 1pm appointment to get tires changed and was told when I checked in at 1pm that it will take 2 hours. Came back a 3:30pm and car was still sitting out. After I made some noise, they finally got the car ready at 5:15pm. So it took 4 hours to change tires (after I made an appointment) and misinformed when the car will be ready and wasted my time.3. When I told the gentleman at checkout, the experience was not pleasant. He simply told me that I have choice and not to come here anymore. There was no interest in listening or receiving any feedback.4. Once I picked up the car, the tire pressures were off by 5 psi. I have to stop the car exit the high way, the warning signal on my dash was on and had to pump air to the correct PSI.Before this location continues to operate and ruin Pepboys reputation, I will prefer talking to someone from corporate.

Manny & Moe were very helpful. Jack on the other hand didnt give me the time-of-day...was having a bad day I guess. But, I was still able to get what I needed and the trip there was a success!

I went in to the shop with a screw in my tire and the gentlemen at the counter lost my paperwork and gave my tire back free of charge. I insisted to pay for it but he refused. Good guys, good work.

I came in after my car broke down on the freeway during a weekend trip. They assured me they would do a full engine diagnostics test as well as a test drive to figure out the problem. Two days later, I pick up my car because they couldnt find anything wrong with it. I asked them over and over if it was safe to drive and they said yes. I asked them for copies of the diagnostics test results and they said they couldnt give them to me because nothing was wrong with it. As soon as I left the parking lot and got onto the freeway, my car stopped running again. They obviously didnt do a test drive or they would have run into the same problem. I dont even think they looked at my car. I needed my car fixed for my drive back home and they completely failed. I had to wait two and a half hours for a tow truck and had to get my car hauled three hours back home. Pep Boys will never be receiving my business again.

Had I known my car would sit untouched for nearly 3 hours after the appointment time, I would have never brought my car here. An appointment is a promise, a simple concept that elludes the minds of the service counter at PEP Boys.There is no excuse for taking advantage of peoples most precious commodity: TIME. I could have taken my car to Quick Lube, Lube Express, Jiffy Lube, or any other service center with names that infer QUICK and SPEEDY service. So what the hell does PEP mean? Certainly not quick.For all of us who have to take time off work, rearrange our schedules, or coordinate back-up transportation, a pretend appointment and broken promise feels like a great big F.U. from PEP Boys.Never again will they have the chance to earn my business.Oh, and my car is still not done at the time of this writing.

They just want your money!I had a problem that required diagnosis and then repairs. The final bill came to nearly $1500 including new shocks, new struts, and new rear lower trailing arms. They also said I needed new tires and they wouldnt guarantee their repair would fix the problem until I replaced all the tires. My tires were purchased at Costco and still under warranty so I still have to see if Costco agrees with themWhen I came to pick up the car, I noticed a $69 item for extended warranty. I was never asked about extended warranty by anyone! The counter guy (Jesus) said it automatically appears on everybodys receipt unless they say to take it off. I asked if there were any discounts available and Jesus said he couldnt give me any discounts - it wasnt his service. Id have to wait for my guy (Alex) to return from lunch some 20 minutes later. He wouldnt even tell me if there were any discounts available. I had to search on my smart phone and point out there were coupons for new struts. I later discovered there was also a $10 off coupon for alignment that I didnt get because they didnt tell me about it.Simply put, these guys are after your money. They wont tell you about sales and specials - you have to already know. Unless you research their current ads and understand everything theyre trying to do on your car, youll do better with a local backyard mechanic.

Service was great! I was there buying new wiper blades for my daughters car and the attendant went outside with me and did his very best and installed the blades for me free of charge. Service DOES still exist at pep boys in Costa Mesa on Bristol!

Brought my car in this morning about 9am with a low tire lite on . Left about an hour and a half later with it supposedly fixed . I am back here again with the same tire that was repaired flat again. Now I am being told that I will have to leave it since they are busy . I worked in the auto repair industry for 32 years and if a customer returned the same day with a problem with something we fixed they would get handled immediately. Not when we can get to it . Now they are telling me that it cant be fixed and I need a new tire. No road hazard coverage even when i purchased 4 new tires 3 months ago I specifically requested the coverage. What a Scam . I should have followed my head and avoided having anything to do with Pep Boys Auto Repair. Avoid Pep Boys at all costs

Replacing old wiperss.Had no idea what the replacement part is!The friendly, helpful, parts lady walked me down the aisle!, got the exact items I needed, told me it is the hooked style, also no difference to get more expensive ones.Wow that is great service.Then in the parking trying to replace the wipers got into trouble, one of the mechanics guys from Peb Boys, was walking by, stoped and helped me replace the old wipers.Wow isnt that just great service and great culture of just being good people, doing good, caring and lending helping hand.My sincere thanks for the Girls and the Boys of Peb Boys.

Convenience DID NOT pay off in this case! Took my SUV in for repair (fuel pump). Not only did they have my car for 2 full days, I had to return back to the shop the same day because my car was still not working properly. I was told I needed to leave it there overnight to be looked at and theyve had it for 3 days and they still cant fix it. They then began to say it was a whole different issue.... $700+ in the hole and Im having to drive a rental. Im a single parent which means I dont have the extra cash just lying around,and this is really putting a burden on me! They must not be mechanics. I dont even know what credentials the employees hold there. Never again will I take any vehicle to Any Pep Boys! And I would certainly not get any type of recommendation!

Super quick service and an awesome staff. Made an appointment for 11am for a smog. They got me in right away, said it would be two hours...I leave, grab some food and got back an hour later to see my vehicle finished.

Went to get a tire patched. Super quick (they quoted 45 mins and it only took 30), and really affordable. It would have been $20, but they checked and saw I was a member (I didnt even realize I was), so it was only $10. Very friendly and pleasant.

I have been going to this Pep Boys for many years and the service has always been great, shopping for parts and accessories is very easy here, I highly recommend it.

Came out of work to find my battery dead-after jump starting my car, called Pep Boys (first time ever dealing with Pep Boys), Daniel Sanchez answered. Embarrassing as it may be, have little to no knowledge regarding vehicles but if Daniel was not only knowledgeable, he waa extremely inviting and friendly. Drove over and they changed my battery within minutes, price was reasonable, and Daniels customer service was exemplary in every aspect. Hopefully you (nor I) have to become regulars due to car problems BUT if it occurs, would strongly recommend Pep Boys/Daniel Sanchez!!! I definitely will! Thank you Pep Boys and Daniel!

To replace power steering pump; theyve had my 98 Silverado for 7hrs and counting...said it would be done by 12noon. It was still sitting in the parking lot at 12 noon when I came back. Im still here, 4hrs later.

Went in yesterday for a tire installation with an appointment that was supposed to take 75 minutes. Ended up taking 3 hours instead and they didnt do one of the tasks on the work order despite saying they had. Friendly staff but poor service.

Stephanie is an amazing service tech and has made the experience of getting an engine replaced. The only complaint I have about the place is that it takes FOREVER. If you are looking to get things done quickly dont go here.

I have had work on my older truck 4 times over the last few years. Ive had excellant service w/honest prices. I also bought 4 new tires and had wonderful service. I trust them & will keep taking my truck in there. They are a busy place and we all must have patience. The batteries here are junk the champion AGM battery 900 cca and bosch poor quality had to returnI got the best warrantylady manager there was very poor service and turn me away and didnt want to give me warranty 48 month battery i bought one year ago this location lie to customersBut they hear from my lawyers .For selling lies

I was traveling from Utah to visit Disneyland with the kids. My power steering went out on a Sunday night and I was able to drop my car off and have them work on it the next day. I was without a car for one day but they got it fixed at a price that was fair and reasonable. Our trip could have been a bust but thanks to Pep Boys we were on the road and could finish our planned vacation.

Alex and Andrew helped me out big time! I tired to install new spark plugs myself and after 2 hours of brain damage, I threw in the towel. Called ahead and Alex assured me that his team could fix the problem. I was able to tow the car into the service station, and Andrew quickly fixed the problem. He even tested my battery. All of this on Labor Day! Amazing team. Highly recommend for all my DIY friends who get in over their head.
