Worst experience ever! Dont work with Mike if possible, only answers by texts and is completely disrespectful dont insult my intelligence, is that what you want a salesman to say when you tell them your budget comfort level? He wont budge when you tell them a reasonable option. He didnt seem like he wanted to make a sale. Im sure there are better and more open minded salesman there, but I would rather take my business elsewhere.

Not only was my experience with him mixed and ultimately unprofessional, the dealership as a whole is extremely sketch.I went in to trade in my car and start a purchase of a used car on their lot. I thought after working with Mike, all was well, I would pick up the car in a few days. It was set. Come to find out all the negotiating we had done in the office, went out the door after they started getting the car ready for pick up. It was pulling teeth to get someone to answer a phone, (Mikes number directly, the sales department, the owner). Mike only communicated over text, even though I asked to speak over the phone MULTIPLE times over voicemail message, email, and text. He was defensive and was belittling when I asked clarifying questions, like how their financing works, how they specifically calculated my trade allowance under over half of what other dealers quoted.If you are one to ask clarifying questions on a major purchase, this dealership and salesman are not for you.He did not take my nonnegotiable items into consideration. He said they would work on bringing the sales price down and/or increasing my trade allowance to fit an agreed on monthly payment range and to keep the term to 60 months. NOPE. From leaving the dealership, he went above the monthly payment range, did nothing to the sales price or trade allowance. Just increased the term to seven years!Ultimately, I cancelled the deal. Mike disrespectfully laughed at me, stated “don’t insult my intelligence” for asking clarifying questions, and stated I would get a refund on my deposit. 14 days later, still haven’t received it.All I’ve received since cancelling the deal has been a customer service rep calling me only to hear me out and take note of what happened, and a cryptic voicemail to give them my card information once more. Over the phone. To some man whispering into the phone.This is their business in a nutshell.Save your time and your money. It’s not worth bringing business to a place that is unprofessional in communication and customer service. I ultimately found a way better dealer that was perfect for me and regret coming to a place that now sits on my credit report for the next two years and that falsely claims refunds are easily refundable. NOT WORTH IT. DON’T GO HERE.BEWARE: the dealership owner has two locations in town. Not sure if Mike works at both. Or if the other is just as bad.
I had a vehicle I took to them it was a Subaru and it cost me $600 to get it back from them because they told me the engine was blown. I took it to somebody I know and the engine was perfectly fine there was a rider wheel for the timing belt that the bearing went bad and thats what was wrong with it they told me the engine was blown and it cost me $1,400 for a new engine Plus tax not brand new either but another engine and have them put it in it would be all together almost $3,000 before everything was said and done. They didnt even look at it and I wont do any business with them because of what they did because they tried to scam me. You would have figured that for $600 they would have at least looked to see if the timing belt was broken but I dont think they even looked at it I think they just figured the third returns but the engine aint turning over because of the rider bearing so they just said the engine was no good I drove that car for five more years after taking it to somebody I knew and they fixed it in a day it said over at their shop for over two weeks survey of the lost my business for the rest of their lives and mine I would not recommend going to them especially after them trying to sell me an engine that I didnt need and telling me my engine is blown up by the time I got it towed out of there and paid the $600 for them to look at it it became an $800 day and they never tried to make it right and I even let him know and ask them why the mechanic didnt even look at it because if he would have looked at it he would have seen for $600 he could have took the time and cover off but like I said that was $600 plus tax and I had triple a so I had it towed there with triple a but I had to pay to get it towed out of there to a different garage and the other garage charged me $300 with the parts that it needed to be fixed. So they lost my business forever.
I have to give them a lower review this time around. I was in for an oil change and the car was returned with grease stain foot prints all over the driver side floor mat. They did clean it after I brought the floor mat in which I appreciated but it shouldnt happen to begin with. They used to place plastic floor mats in to prevent this. Needless to say, I was disappointed. Good service is why I have purchased my cars there for 50 years. If this is what is going to be the standard, Ill buy them somewhere else.
I have my car in several times for related but not the same problems. After thousands if dollars and multiple services...still A/C and heater not working. I am super disappointed. I have always beena loyal customer but I am rethinking my future with Royal.

I have always had a fabulous experience with Dave in the service department, and this time was no different. I was 950 miles over my 36,000 warranty, and the starter went on my vehicle. Onstar towing assistance worked great, and Dave called me by 8:15am the next day to find out what was going on. He had it fixed and ready for me by early afternoon, and allowed it to go through the customer loyalty program since I was just out of warranty. He communicated very well throughout the day, it was quick, easy, and painless. Thank you!
I am still reserving my full judgement but I bought a Chevy Silverado June 26, 2021 and had had the vehicle for all of THREE days before the check engine light came on. Simply swung by to ask for the code to be read as I had JUST driven off the lot but was told no one could simply do that. NOW the power steering keeps engaging and disengaging mid turns while driving making the vehicle a safety hazard for myself and my family to use. While I am still waiting to see what is said at my appointment and the power steering is thankfully still under warranty but this has definitely left a VERY bad taste in my mouth about royal.
Went in for multi inspection, oil change, and nys inspection. Everyone in the Cortland Royal dealership is very friendly and gets things done in a timely manner. I will be going back next September for another new equinox !!!

This was WAY too easy! I drive into a sparkling clean intake bay, go to the service desk, and am on the way home in your shuttle van (also sparkling clean, with a very pleasant driver) in under five minutes! The all finished call came just when I thought it should, and there was the van, waiting for me, in five minutes again! Im not used to VIP service, but I think I can get used to it in a hurry!
Overall Im pleased. The only negative is the DEF tank wasnt filled. I realize it was very low and perhaps Royal has a maximum amount theyll add to the tank, but the tank was very low. When I got it back it was reading 17% full. I would have liked to have been offered the opportunity to have it filled. The tech also left the DEF cap off.
I would say for every 3 years I would trade and have cars serviced at ROYAL. I thank this show that I have trust in the service.
Worth driving the distance to get to Royal Chevrolet if you are look for a true no hassle competitive deal. We had an amazing experience with Justin Porupski at Royal Chevrolet. My wife started the process with Justin and from the beginning he was very competitive on the price, and was determined to win our business and complete the sale of her new truck. Justin did everything that he promised and more. We drove over 4 hours to get to the dealership to be greeted by Justin, the owner, and the finance manager – we felt like family. Justin stayed with us from beginning to end, and made sure that everything was perfect – from the car to the paperwork. Disappointing experience after having so many great experiences at the Royal Subaru shop down the road. I took my car in to Royal Chevy and while the overall service completed was satisfactory the tech forgot to put a couple parts back in place. When I called the shop the next day and explained I was immediately put on hold and sent to another person. With no apology given I was simply asked when I could bring the vehicle back in. I figured that some simple apology for their mistake would be forthcoming when I returned later that day but all I received was an explanation for what happened. I wasn’t expecting an over the top dramatic apology as the issue was quickly resolved but a simple ‘sorry about that’ would have sufficed. I will gladly continue to do business with the Royal Subaru down the road but will not be bringing by business back to the Royal Chevy location.

I love the car I bought, but my experience had a small amount of hassle and more razzle dazzle than I wanted. Financing went through fine but I was not given a heads up that the interest rate the bank came back with was higher than originally predicted. The finance manager should have called me so I could have had an opportunity to either look elsewhere or call my bank to negotiate. Everyone there is very nice but you still dont get all the information to make an informed decision unless you know the right questions to ask and push until they give you the honest answer.
I had an appointment for some problems with my 2018 Chevy Equinox. When I arrived on the day of my appointment, the Royal team told me that there internet was down and they werent able to diagnose the problem with my car. Even in a very stressful situation, they were friendly and helpful, telling me I could leave my car and I could take a loaner vehicle since I had no other transportation. Once they were back in business, a very friendly service clerk called to explain what the process was for diagnosing and fixing my car. Within a few hours, my car was diagnosed and fixed by the service tech team. Good customer service is hard to find these days. I was very happy with the overall experience and will definitely be using Royal for all of my service needs!

Finally, my new vehicle is driving to my liking.It has been a frustrating roller coaster to get to this point.after months of Onstar warnings, I finally had the green light that the vehicle is ok to drive.Whoever did my last service did a great job.But should I have been charged for something that should have been done to the vehicle when I first purchased it?

I was in town visiting my mother and went to pick up her car from Royal Subaru in Cortland, which went in to get a new tire put on (She was told it was bare and unsafe to drive by Royal auto). When I arrived I paid, got a receipt, and asked for the old tire which they put in the car when they pulled it out for me.When I arrived home I immediately realized that the bald tire which was supposed to be removed was still on the car and the tire they gave me was not even close to the same size meant for the car...Let me reiterate: I was given a receipt which included the time spent to replace the tire... which never happened. Not only is this wrong but it is ILLEGAL.I called Royal Auto and they were adamant on me bringing the car back in immediately so they could “fix” the issue. They did not refund the illegitimate charge and refused to do anything for my mom. Had I still lived in the area I would have taken them to court.For anyone in the area please consider buying or leasing a car somewhere else and learn from this mistake.

WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS. DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE HERE. Brought in a flier from the mail that promised 2000 for trade in. Got 500 for my 2008 Buick. Told the salesman I couldn’t afford anything over 300 a month. Told me he had the perfect car for me, a 2014 Buick Enclave fully loaded! I was excited I could afford something this nice! Never once told me the price of the car or what the payments would be, I just assumed it was in my price range because I made it clear of what I could afford. They dropped the car off to me while I was at work where I waitress and was rushed through paperwork and not once was the payment or price pointed out to me. I assumed this man was trying to help me out! Signed my life away now paying 650 A MONTH for a 2014 Buick on a waitress salary trying to raise three children! On top of that I can’t even trade the car in without paying out of pocket because they sold me the car WAY OVERPRICED. KBB for 16,000 and I got it for 22,000 with a 29% interest rate. THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!!!!!
I went for oil change, the service dept staff is always for courteous, they greet you and call you by name as soon as you enter the shop. I am very pleased with the service I received.

They explained everything that was going on, much to my surprise I had inadvertently turned the knob from 2-wheel drive to 4-high, which was causing the rough turning and driving. OOPS! but the gold nugget was my truck was out of line, so that was fixed at least!
I am beyond impressed at the customer service at the service center. I dropped my car off a day early because it was convenient and they actually got to my car early. They called every step of the way and kept me informed and easily navigated my two warranties. The shuttle service goes 20 miles and made it so easy for me to get to them, passing the Ithaca dealership that ruined my last vehicle, and it made it worth the extra traveling. I work long hours and my schedule didnt line up with the shuttle service to get my car back, so they had two drivers bring my car back to my apartment for me while i was working and went out of their way for me. Im so grateful. Definitely going back.
They try to nickel & dime you and get every last penny they can!! Definitely do not recommend going here for any services. Charged me for an inspection that my car did not pass & then i went somewhere else 10 minutes later and passed inspection.

Brought my perfectly running vehicle here and had Royal automotive replace my passenger side airbag, as it had a recall on it. Had been pushing this off for awhile as I know friends who have taken their vehicles to dealerships to be worked on and have picked them up with something else wrong with it. Sure enough I pick my car up the next day and my car is not running how it had been when I dropped it off. Before just jumping to conclusions though I got ahold of Royal Automotive in Cortland and explained to them the situation and to even just bring my car back to them, for them to look at it and tell me what’s wrong they want to charge me money. The lady on the phone says to me “well yesterday my car seat warmers worked and now today they don’t, things happen” I will never bring my vehicle here to be worked on ever again and don’t recommend anyone else to.
I have a ignition problem, which key wont come out of ignition.Its Chevys mistake with spring in steering column that wont allow key to release .Just for them to look at it was 110.00 WHAT.......You can google this and then Utube it.2014 Chevy captiva......

I like that you have a loaner car program. This helps a lot of people, like me! It appears that you did NOT try to go above what service was required; try to charge more or buy new parts instead of fixing the old. My only issue would be price, but I understand what labor costs are set at and mark-up on parts, and it is what it is. The car was fixed fast, was diagnosed correctly, and the staff was helpful and friendly.

If you can avoid going here to buy a vehicle please do so this was one of the worst experiences my fiancé and I have ever had trying to buy a vehicle I don’t even know where to start. Royal had sent us a paper stating they wanted to buy our car back and put us in a newer vehicle so we went there and started the process to upgrade from a small car to an SUV since we have a child and also a newborn we needed a bigger vehicle to suit our needs. So the guy we were working with name is Tim he ran my fiancé credit and told us it wasn’t high enough for him to be able to help us which is understandable he told us if we could get a co signer that he might be able to help us so that’s just what we did a few days later we had found a co signer with great credit So we went back and started the process again and Tim told us that he would call us the following day to update us on everything so my fiancé and I waited the whole following day and did not receive a phone call or text for an update at all so by the end of the day we decided to call the dealership Tim had failed to tell us he had the following day off so I asked if there was someone I could speak to so we could get a update the lady on the phone told me she would have someone call me back before they closed with a update well let’s just say we still didn’t receive a phone call at all. So on to the next day we are and Tim reaches out to us and tells us that our co signer that we have won’t work which was confusing because this person has great credit and income so he asked if we had a different co signer which we found a new one and started the process once again same thing happened took him days to respond back and update us called royal several times to get no answer so at this point we are very frustrated we did not know the process was going to be this much of a hassle. So after days pass come to find out our second co signer would not work either that’s what we were told anyway which was also confusing because our 2nd co signer has good credit and good income as well at this point it’s been 2 weeks total that we have been going through this whole thing after it was all said and done we did not get in a bigger vehicle a few days later we got mail from the banks that they tried to get us approved with our first co signer and they didn’t even have her name correct at all on the papers that we got in the mail which could have been one of the reasons we didn’t get approved the first time. All and all throughout this whole process the customer service and communication was terrible and I don’t think they took much effort in trying to help us get in a bigger vehicle even though they sent us the paper to begin with so now we are currently in the process of going through a new dealership and one of our co signers has been approved already it’s so far been a much less stressful process thank you.
Treated well here. Id done my research. I knew what my trade in was worth, and what the car I was buying was going for in market. After seeing their offer, I gave them my numbers and told them how I got to them. They did not try to bargain me up. They just asked how soon did I want the car ready. I paid sales tax and registration fees. When check engine lite came on they fixed it. They also diagnosed that A/C was not working and fixed it. No charge for repairs.
I am very dissaponted at my experience there. As Im despertly looking for a truck, I sat down with a man and wrote specifally what I wanted and asked him to zerox what I had listed he didnt return but told me to look around and hed be back iñ a minute.I went on my own looking, but needing assistance. On Tuesday June 30 2pm I was scheduled for an Oelchange nothing else it was suggested to also have the Airfilter changed I agreed. When I drove off I noticed that the tire pressure senser right front was blinking. I turned and brought it to their attention. The Mechanic claimed that this was already there when he pulled the car into the bay.why did he not bring it to my attention when he also noticed that the Airfilter was dirty? He did not try to get it fixed even though on the printed report it shows under tire inspection: Passenger FrontPsi before 35 psi set to 35. I had it repaired at an other place.

If I could go lower than 1 star I would. Weve been trying to address an ongoing concern with previous repair work that was not done well. They promised us a significant discount on our next service. On a $700 bill, they gave us $43.20 off. We wont be going back. Poor work and worse service.

Friendly service and they have always been very honest with us. They have done work on three different Subarus for us and we have purchased one from them. We have been very satisfied and will likely return to them if we decide to go with another Subaru in the future, which is likely. We have also use their loaner vehicle program while having a car in for work, which was a huge life saver and very efficient for dropping off and pick up.

I have taken my car to Royal twice for body work: once to fix the paint and then another time to replace a door. They are excellent to deal with, super friendly and helpful, and they took care of all the insurance dealings. They also provided great rentals for my insurance companys $30/day rate. My last rental was a new Rogue, I put the first 100 miles on it. Much better than the small compact car Enterprise would have provided for $30/day. And, my car is always spotless when I pick it up. :)
Service dept very sketchy 2 days to change a abs sensor asked around to other shops 1.5 hrs. Guy on the phone rude and not help full at all very rude when after 2 days i need my truck back with out repairs done. Look elts where first.
Staff is always friendly and helpful. I wasn’t pleased to have to replace brakes and rotors after just having them all done in the past two years by them. No real explanation. Just that’s how it is. This is the second time I have had work done there to find my car smells of grease and to literally find greasy handprints inside the car.

Im confused about PSI. Upon leaving Royal after my car was serviced I checked to system and found PSIs ranging from 34 - 38. The sticker on the car recommends 35. The inspection report said they were set at 32. Today the weather is cooler and the range is 34 - 36. Perhaps the 32 on the report was entered incorrectly. This discrepancy is why I didnt give my usual 9 or 10 rating.
