Great staff!Went to help my step son buy his 1st firearm the salesman Moses was very knowledgeable and kind and took his time even under pressure by the growing number of customer kept his cool. I like the new arrangement of the registers. There is only one line for 12 registers. Everyone gets in the same line and you go to the next open one. The store has been reorganized. I like it a lot. Decent prices.

I go to academy for one thing….fishing gear. This is a coastal store and they seriously need to up their restocking game. Pretty please.4 stars because of awesome staff willing to look through boxes without being asked to find what I needed - he had no luck.All stores were out FYI - of a lot of items. Not just this one.

Found whatnI was looking for. Not as many womens fishing shirts to select from as the mens, but found a nice one.

Extremely sanitary staff was nice and quick with helping me with my purchase, and when I came back for a return they got me in and out in 3 minutes

My favorite place to shop at. Im always buying ammo or work out clothes from here. I just ordered a nike shirt and shorts a few minutes ago. U can never go wrong with Academy! Ill be back tomorrow for some more shotgun ammo. Thank you Academy

Went in to return a item and the cash back was $32.46 and here we go again another company complaining about not having enough coins. The girl at the checkout asked if we wanted too we could just take $32 instead of the full amount, my wife said no. Were not blaming the checker she was really nice, it has to do with the company. When we go in and purchase something they want the whole amount, why dont they ever ask us is we want $33, but you wont ever see that happening because they rather make more profit from money that doesnt belong to them.

When and bought A-tent price $79 got to the register he said it was $99 plus taxTotal $123. But the manager Melissa fix it for me and I got it for $79 plus tax. Paid $88.??

Clean store w/ good selection. Only opportunity we saw, was swimming and water cloths and toys were low on stock (most likely due to holiday).

This academy is a star below the rest. The place is a mess and you cant tell whats up from down. Took me forever to find a volleyball net. Product quantity is lacking.

2 stars for selection and competitive pricing but customer service is an absolute joke. Also, I would not use curbside unless you have plenty of time on your hands or are disabled to the point where you cannot absolutely get down get what you need and stand in the check out line otherwise be prepared for no one to know where your order is and wait about 30 + minutes in your vehicle. Do not make plans to pick up during your lunch break or think because you live out of time you will order online and pick up passing on through. The app and online website need a lot of work also, it is very hard to navigate and even harder to make changes to orders. If you do not have a general knowledge of what you are looking for do some research before heading in as associates will also not have knowledge of what you are needing if you can find one at all. The line to check out what you need will also serpentine down the store especially if it is a weekend. Unfortunately, most times we are at the mercy of getting what we need from this big chain store but if you are lucky enough to find what you need online with free same day or 2 day shipping and free returns you can save yourself the hassle and headache of entering this store. 1 star for very poor customer service. It takes several employees just to help a customer buy one item. Additionally, the employees cannot make executive decisions about items that are not labeled with a price, even when I’m willing to just purchase it for whatever price they could give me. Overall, the staff was not helpful and did not make the checkout process smooth.

Place is great always helpful. Great at returning shoes even if you have worn them.

Hopefully they will have guns and ammo again one day. All other items are over priced and their employees although mostly nice, know nothing about the products there. I never go anymore because they have no guns or ammo. May as well just go to Driscoll Guns store. No other point in going here. Apparel is much less expensive at Walmart or online. Fitness equipment is over priced and none of the employees really know anything about the equipment. You can get everything cheaper somewhere else except guns and maybe fishing rods. No guns so all that is left is fishing rods. Dont even try looking for ammo or scopes.

Everything was good just had to pick up some chairs for the event this weekend

Experience was terrible at this location. My husband needed to speak with 4 employees just to purchase sunglasses. I couldnt even buy a bathing suit bottom because it didnt have a sku number. Employees/Managers really need to be empowered to make decisions at the checkout floor. It is unfortunate a sale could not be made especially when the consumer is asking for any price just to buy. Isnt Academy in the business of selling? Apparently, not this store.

Man, i go in this place knowing exactly what i want but the shelves will be empty for stocked items so i usually have to wait for them to bring it from the back.. my google timeline shows that i was in there for an hour and twenty minutes because the assistance was two stars worth

Had an exchange. Process was simple and convenient. Staff was nice. Great collection of clothes, shoes, and workout equipment.

I’ve waited a whole hour in pickup area. Three people asked me for my confirmation number and not one came back. The manager Richard came towards the big line of pickup and he didn’t have a comment, instead he came to the front for his pizza. Worst service ever! Do better !

We love shopping at Academy. Selections are usually pretty good, and the prices are competitive. We were able to find a tent and other camping necessities for our upcoming adventure.

This store is amazing!!! Extra large and extra selection. Incredible amount of fishing tackle, boating supplies and clothing. So much larger than the stores in neighbouring cities.

Went into Academy in Corpus Christi Texas..no sanitizer wipes to clean carts. No sanitizer for your hands. Both containers was empty. When i talked to the man at the 1st desk inside he said. We havnt had any In weeks . And the manager hasnt heard if they was going to get more. This is what the employee of Academy said. Now the delta variant is in Corpus. Protect your customers.

This was my first time and last time using curbside with the academy in Corpus Christi, Tx. I pull into the assigned parking spot and follow the directions to check in. I literally fell asleep while waiting, probably waited at least 20 minutes before I finally called to see what was going on.Employee that answered then told me to come inside. I do, he calls up the curbside associate. The young man offers no apology and no explanation as to why I had to wait so long, he then tells me that he has to go look for my order. I’m again left waiting . He finally shows up with my order and again, no apology or explanation. Spent a total of 40 minutes waiting. Then I call to speak to a manager and was transferred 3- 4 times before I actually got one on the phone. Very poor experience. I see now I’m not the only one with the his experience! What a joke their curbside is.

Very large store that has some ammunition in stock as well as a good supply of handguns and hunting rifles. Lines at checkout get long but they have many registers open so it moves quickly

Like the new check system, kinda like Ducks sporting goods. Pretty much everything you need for sports and outdoors. My to go place for our fishing gear, and beach necessities.

Certain departments are great and they have some oddities that you cant find anywhere else. But other departments and products are way over priced

My family and I have been going to this store for 3 decades. We go to purchase golfing supplies. Softball supplies. Fishing tackle. And of course firearm supplies. I can remember one in Austin Tx. It was more like a military outpost. Not like the fancier stores now. But sadly there are times its difficult to find someone willing to help you without having an attitude about it other than that great store.

In utilizing In-store pick up, I was under the impression that was supposed to provide your paying customers convenience. This proved false. In purchasing one (singular, one shirt), this convenient transaction cost me an hour of my life I will never get back. After waiting in line to begin the process of pick up, the associate working the counter asked me to wait while she called for another associate to bring my item to me. Despite standing there for approximately 15 minutes with the register associate fully aware and while another manager passed by several times, i continued to wait. No urgency on behalf of any employee. Only after taking it upon myself to stop the manager, did the actual process of me picking up my one (1, singular) item begin. Upon being given the item i made my way out of the store and into my car and upon inspecting, the one (1, singular) item was the incorrect size. Shame on me for not checking in the store considering the glowing experience I had up to this point. And, obviously, the amount of time needed to wait in line to make it back to the customer service associate and complete the return was excessive. Entirely unacceptable. What is so telling, is that the interactions and lack of any sense of actual customer service and satisfaction from those employees tells me that this is par for the course with this store and a reflection of the owner and management.

Academy was packed because if Fathers Day but I was pleasantly surprised how fast the line was going because there was an employee directing people to open cash registers.

Went for hunting and fishing license and public land permit. Very efficient.

You know. Some things never change. I went to Academy looking for some walking sports shoes. Now i dont like shopping at all. Im the kind of person who walks in, find what i want and leave. Im looking for the shoes when i come across a pair i bought ten years ago. New Balance. Found my size AND they were on sale! And just like that i was done shopping and happy like i was high on weed. Naw just kidding but i was happy. And you know why? Because the New Balance walking shoe i found, i purchased at Academy ten years ago. Now they do have all sorts of new styles of footwear but for an old buck like me if i find sports shoes that do me good then i want to purchase another pair. Academy has it all. You can always count on Academy to come through. Tried and true.

If you are looking for shoes or boots size 14 or above, this place does not seem to have much of a selection. They have a wide selection of shoes and boots, but not in those sizes. I asked an employee to help, he said some brands had those sizes, but it would be whatever they had out there, he could not help me find any. He then suggested I try Cavenders, that they carry bigger sizes. I do appreciate his honesty.

Pretty good store. Lots of things missing in boxes for sale. Like the rubber rings, I like at several of those that the ring has been stolen from. Just an empty box. Went to buy a knee sleeve, picked up the one I wanted, box felt really light, looked inside and its empty. So just check your stuff before you check out

Its not so much, the low inventory they tend to have. I get very irritated, than when you are paying and leaving, they do not even give you a chance to type the option of getting an emailed receipt. They clear the screen, never ask you, if you want an emailed receipt, if there is anything else you need, so that when they close the transaction and you explain to them, you wanted an emailed receipt, they have to call a manager, to redo everything.

Had to snag some fishing supplies, and it was packed. Only had to wait in line for about 5 minutes though, super quick and the staff are really nice.

Difference looks at the cashier pay out. A lady told me she could not find a sales person in the shoe department. I was having the same problem.

One of my favorite sporting/ hunting goods stores. Always has a little bit of everything and the quality is always there for the price you pay. All the sales associates are always professional.

Very busy on a Saturday in the summer however this store was prepared and the staff does an awesome job keeping up.

Awful service at the gun department. They only had one person working the department. Poor guy I felt sorry for him. That place needs more employees. I think Im gonna rip up my credit card from there. Im gonna give it one more try tomorrow but if I get the same service Im done with that place.

Convient store to purchase fishing and hunting license. Pay at any register then take your receipt to the licence printing counter to get it printed. Veterans with disabilities who are eligible to get a free super combo hunting and fishing license should go straight to the licensing printing area. No need to go to the regular register. Take your VA disability paperwork with you

My wife and I love the outdoors and rely on stores such as Academy for our needs. The Corpus store that I went to is slowly gaining back its image before the pandemic. Well continue to visit this store.

Went to academy sports looking for some hiking gear and found an awesome selection at the store . A little on the pricey side but good quality

Pricey, weight lifting equipment is deteriorating. No restocking. Weapons are down to a handful. Sales are last years prices. Clothing is almost as bad as Ross. Ive purchased defective clothing there. It happened when the dressing rooms werent open during Corona. Go figure. But then again i have purchased some really good shirts n jackets there too. 40% unhappy 😡 60% ok.

Very disappointed that everytime we go to this Academy, the store shelves are always bare. There is only one store in Corpus Christi and it is always packed, so why not carry more merchandise? The soccer selection is very sad. There are 5 major soccer clubs in the city, not including the city park & rec, I9sports, the other small rec soccer leagues, the adult soccer leagues, and the HS teams. Why dont they carry more soccer youth and adult shin guards, goalie gloves, socks, and youth cleats? We recently went to Academy needing orange soccer socks. The shelves were empty but there were several boxes way at the top. One was marked Orange Soccer Socks, One of the employees finally is able to help us get the box we need down. He takes out 2 pairs that we need and although there are more pairs in the box he places the box back on the way top instead of restocking the shelf. The employee stated that the boss likes them to keep some on top in the boxes (even though there are none stocked for customers to reach????) We returned 2 weeks later needing red & black soccer socks. Surprise. surprise the shelves are still empty. We only were able to find Red socks. We ended up going to Dicks Sporting Goods to find the black soccer socks, adult small shin guards, and goalie gloves. If they would do a better job then we would buy everything at Academy. Guess they dont care that much. (Portland Academy keeps their store well stocked.)

Only 2 cashiers and 11 people in front of me in line. After a long wait and there is only one person ahead, cashiers suddenly appear from nowhere and open several more registers. Not bad selection but customer service stinks.Came back again to get a gas griddle. Could not find anyone to answer questions about these or to see which ones are in stock. Academy seems to be moreOf a team sports and clothing store than it used to be. Wish we had a Bass Pro Shops or REI in town.Shelves are almost empty, see picture. As much salt water fishing as we have going on in our area and they can’t carry jig heads?Only one package of quarter ounce jig heads in the entire store?? 😖

Disorganized with lots of gaps on shelves and displays. Employees were dismissive and quick to walk away instead of fully assisting. But the clothing section was easy to navigate

They dont carry change and any odd amount they expect you to let them keep 90 cents for example. Never went to a store where they require the customer to have exact change.

We went for a grill that was on sale in the paper, was charged full price then was told that was an old ad, ran out two days prior! Not real happy about that! Love the grill!

Normally I have no problems here, but I popped in to check on a few things and and pick up a new pair of work boots. Found some Docs that would do and worked my way around to check out. Only 1 register was open, and the line went about 20 feet into the clothing. I dont know why they couldnt or wouldnt open up another register, but I didnt have the time to wait. Put the boots back on the shelf and out the door I went. Lost sale and disappointed customer.
