I went to Best Buy a couple of years ago to get my speakers upgraded. They don’t know what they’re doing! The guy that installed them put glue all over the component that keeps the speaker grill inside. It kept falling off every time we shut the door. I came in to see if they could fix it for a fee. They did a great job free of charge! Great customer service! I’ll be sure to bring my van back for anything else I want upgraded in the future. They know what they’re doing! Thank you!

I recently bought led headlights from here and in 2 weeks 1 went out. I contacted them let them know the situation and immediately they had me bring them in an swapped me out a new pair. I had ones with a cooling fan now I have regular led lights same ones without the fan. They took care of me like I was family. No questions asked. That’s the type of business I love. Definitely will be doing more business with this company. If I could give more stars I would. I’m super happy now.

I went in a few days ago and picked out an alarm. I called back two days ago to set up an install date. what I DID get is 69 minutes on hold. Never talked to anyone. As the hold button kept beeping they would just keep hitting the hold button. It amazed me how much the recording talked about their QUALITY OF SERVICE ! When they finally got on the phone the only thing I could say was I want a refund for the system I purchased. Guy said come in tomorrow with the card you put it on. I did. Nobody asked me what was wrong or that happen???? if this is their level of service before an install I can only imagine what its like afterwards..
Friendly, they also have alot of patience willing to help u with any questions but most of all they go above and beyond to help there customers 😀 needs

The worst place to get speakers installed outrageously priced terrible warranty on products i went in to replace blown subwoofer was told it would take two weeks to receive or I could uprgrade to a speaker that is basically the exact same for an extra $150 so now they are saying that it will take a month And offered me a credit of $100 when I originally paid 300 for it also very sorry install had scratches all over my tent wires sticking out trunk liner outta place when my vehicle was returned had no pictures before hand so I couldn’t prove they did it overall very poor experience management makes excuses on why they can’t help when they have many options to help DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE JUST GETTING INTO CAR AUDIO THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!!!!!!!

Never had a problem until today, I got out of work early for an appt and they told me they cant install my radio because there is alot of people ahead of me then what is the point in making an appt? Very disappointed! The guy who assisted me didnt even offer to re schedule my appt ...I lost 3 hrs of my pay to get to my appt and for them to tell me they where not going to install my radio ..
Horrible service we had agreed on a price then we towed a very large boat to the shop and they basically told us double the price because they didn’t think we would take the boat back home after we pulled it out of the water just to put speakers in it... i do not recommend this place.

Not sure what their deal is here. Very rude and short with answers kind of staff. Whenever Ive called wanting to ask about some upgrades for the sound system in my truck, Its almost as if they cant be bothered at all. To me it sounds like they get a lot of sublets from dealerships so maybe they arent necessarily too worried about providing quality customer service anyway since theyre pigging backing off those contracts.Anyway, a sincere and honest shop to work with seems to be Bay Area Audio Visions. Cant wait for my new setup to be installed!👍👍
A $ 600 + job on my f150 leaves me with a bittersweet taste. I expected better from this place. Now Im going to look for another shop to finish the work they couldn’t do here.😔seems like they couldn’t use a ship device like the one in the picture to do the job right the first time. That’s a shame and what a rip off.
I recently went in to have something installed for my speakers. Before the team installed it, my sound in my vehicle was crystal clear. Now, I can’t turn my speakers above 23 without distortion and clipping. Not only that, but they forgot to plug my air conditioning back in. I went back and they told me I probably blew my speaker. I will never be returning to Competition Sound as their work is below par and they don’t own their mistakes.
For my birthday my wife had stereo and rear speakers install on my truck. She showed me the surprise, my dash has about 6 in crack and the radio is not mounted correctly. Went back to the shop to complain. The technician broke another piece of the dash board covers. They send me to another shop to fix the issue, they called them back to discuss the repair. Had to call them several times, still waiting for response from them for 13 days now. They also did not offer military discount my wife and I are both veterans. They advertise more about custimer service and work on your vehicle. Would not recommend, if i could give it zero stars I would, one star is one to many.
Competition Sounds just replaced the stock radio unit in my 2002 Ford Excursion with a Kenwood Excelon unit and back-up camera, and I must say that I am very pleased. John, Jordan, and Sam all three helped me from the counter and offered exceptional customer service. They answered all of my questions and quoted an exact estimate for me when a local big box store couldnt even begin to quote an estimate for labor and tried to sell me a plan to cover repairs on other electronics/appliances that would help with the custom installation on my car. I was even told that my rear speakers would not work without the additional custom installation. Not the case with Competition Sounds. The installation cost of my radio was actually included in the purchase of the radio itself, without any additional and unexpected custom labor charges. The price I was quoted is the price I paid. Jordan and Sam guaranteed that my rear speakers would work and that no cutting/splicing/bypassing would be necessary. The installation of my radio unit was exactly as explained to me. These men were so patient with me as it took me three visits before I finally committed to my purchase. Everyone with whom I spoke was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. The installer (Joe) even came to the front and spoke with me after the installation was complete. And when my car was ready to go, Sam took the additional time to teach me how to use my new radio. I thank the employees at Competition Sounds for a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend them to anyone who is seeking custom audio work.

Took My Mini Cooper in for a Sound Upgrade From Stock to BadAss but had to completely look stock as I like everything to look Original and they succeeded! Got my Car back and you cannot visually tell the stock speakers were replaced by looks and Amps hidden nicely. Sound is Awesome! From the Sales person to the installers Thank You!

My dad made the mistake of taking his truck here, told me his story the first time he purchased his system he paid about 1100 subwoofer, amp, and install.. when they got a new truck they asked if they could switch it to his newer truck, they wanted 700-800 just for install.... To me this is a high price and they didnt do anything for him for being a repeat customer. I personally avoided taking my car here after this. If you have money to blow and you want to spend it. gave 2 stars instead of 1 because at least it was functioning after the install. Just the price and customer service wasnt as satisfyingEDIT: since i cant reply to your reply, this isnt about my expectation of one price, this is about you quoting the SAME job at different prices every time he called and asked. No worries though, my expectations were exceeded by another business, they were consistent with their prices and work and a lifetime warranty. Sounds like a better package deal to me.You might be A+ with BBB with 7 customer reviews and 3 complaints (probably people dont take the time to complain to the BBB) but not a A+ with 169 google reviews with more than half being 3 stars and below. For being in business in 93 and claiming to be the best, i would have expected better service. Thats my two cents.TL:DR it wasnt an issue about the money, the issue was the quotes kept changing. And inconsistency doesnt win my trust
The guys there are great they put Ken wood radio navigation systems in both my vehicles. I highly recommend you go to them for any sound system installments to your vehicle.

Friendly but slow to get what u need and get out
CAN NOT express how dissatisfied I am with this place!!! Initially spent $3,600 buying 4 new component speakers, 2 10 subs, a 1000W Rockford marine amp, and a custom built box for my Jeep. Discussed where and how I wanted my equipment installed and set up my install appointment. Dropped my Jeep off the day before so as not to have any hold ups. Called at 4:30, before I left work, and they said that it was not ready but would be ready in about 30 minutes. Drove from Ingleside, approx. 35-40 minutes, and it was no where close to being ready!!! Entire dash was still out, amp had not been mounted, dash speakers were not installed. The install tech could not mount my base control knob where I wanted, so, with NO phn call, he took it upon his self to drill a hole in my dash and mount it so as to interfere with my a/c controls. Wanted my amp under my back seat hidden, install tech, once again with NO phn call, took it upon himself to mount it under my front seat in plain view when my doors are off. Did not get out of there until after 8:00 pm that evening. Less than 2 days later began having troubles with the amp, called and talked to Sam (I will give it to him, he is probably the ONLY good thing at this shop) and got scheduled to bring it in. Warrantied the amp and back on the road. Again, 2-3 days later, had problems with the amp, called Sam again. I made the decision to upgrade from the Rockford to a JL marine amp and install a LED light bar also, spending another $1,200 with them. Scheduled my install, dropped my Jeep off the day before once again. Went to pick it up the next afternoon, after they had it ALL DAY long, and it was not ready once again...after 9:00 pm before I got my Jeep back!!! Immediately noticed that my base control knob was not working, called Sam and he said that they would make it right. Unfortunately due to my scheduling with work and family events I couldnt take it back immediately (no big deal, thats on me). Call and talk to Jordan on 6/27/20 and he told me to bring it in on 6/28/20 at 10:00 am when they open. Drive from Rockport on my day off and get there by 9:30. 10:00 they open and I go in only to find out that Sam nor Jordan was working and....I WAS NOT ON THE SCHEDULE!!!! Started to complain (in a respectful tone- not yelling or cussing) and let them know what a nightmare this has been and that, for the $5,000 that I had spent with them, I expected it to be right! Not sure who the shorter gentleman with glasses is, manager/owner I dont know, but he informed me that he didnt care if I spent $5,000 or $20,000 he was not helping me. I can not say enough about how absolutely NEGATIVE this experience has been, would give negative 12 stars if that were possible. My system is STILL NOT working correctly for what I paid for...

Employees seemed irritated when I called and asked for a quote. 1st guy told me he would call me back but never did. When I called back 2and guy tells me he needs a computer but they were all being used at the time, he asked me to hold but I hung. I dont have time and dont want to do business with someone who could care less about doing business with me. Was my 1st time reaching out to these guys and will be my last.
This place is the absolute worst. They dont care about their customers or the quality of their work. They scratched the paint on both doors of my wifes Explorer and damaged both door panels. The housings that hold the clips are broken and can not be PROPERLY repaired. Competition Sounds tells me to go to Ricks Detailing and that he would take care of it. Rick sent them the quote for $6,700 to fix the vehicle properly and now Competition Sounds doesnt want to stand by their damage er work. This company is beyond pathetic. The damage WILL be repaired on their dime. It will just be the longer more expensive way for them. Stay away from these clowns.
So far so good. Brought in a 2018 Jeep Compass. Install was different. So it took some time. Customer service was straight with me. Install guy was straight. I bit pricey. But, the service has been great. They have no excuses or complaining to get the install perfect. I would recommend this place.
These guys go above and beyond. So glad I went to them. I had previously installed a new head unit at Best Buy and didnt even get what I purchased and got my car back with parts broken. Took my Nissan Xterra to these guys, fixed same day, cheaper labor fee, plus they took the time to fix the parts Best Buy broke for me AND financed me with snap financing so I didnt have to put down all my money. Definitely would recommend to a friend and now my boyfriend is going here for new sound equipment as well!
Needed a deck upgrade bad and started to do the recon on systems by phone call. John was very receptive to this and took tone to address my questions. Next day my wife took in my truck and in the time promised they had the deck in and working. Wanted a little extra upgrade and addressed this with Sam and we came up with a plan. Next day in less time than it took for me to finish a beer next door and it was done and looked factory installed. All factor buttons on steering wheel and usb input work great. Recommend these guys for your audio needs. Military and Veteran friendly, a plus with me.

No good. I was there to spend $400 for a dash cam plus tax plus install. They set my appointment for next day and after 35 minutes of waiting beyond my appointment time, me and my $500 walked out the door.
This place is a hot steaming pile of garbage! I dont know if the positive reviews on here are bought and paid for or they are family and friends of the people that work at the store and are asked to leave good reviews, but my experience was nothing at all like theirs. I dont usually leave reviews either but after months of seeing my vehicle with missing interior panel hardware, I just felt so inclined to do so. The service was so horrible I dont recommend anyone go there unless you like to waste your time and money. I had them install an aftermarket double din DVD player and 20 screen that I had purchased through amazon because competition sound prices were just ridiculous. Put it this way, the price I paid on amazon for both, my DVD player and 20 screen I would have only gotten me an off-brand ugly looking 10 screen at their store without a DVD player or harness. They took an entire day on something they said would only take 4-5 hrs I was literally the first customer there and left about an hr after they closed the store for the day. As I was checking everything out when I got my vehicle back, I noticed right away pieces of my interior paneling missing along with the hardware that holds it in place. When I asked the guy about it he just shrugged his shoulders and said I dont know. Then I checked to see if it worked properly by trying to play a brand new copy of a DVD I just bought and it only played on the radio deck and not on the screen. When I asked him about that he said he wasnt told to connect the screen and DVD player together, when I clearly told the other guy that I wanted it done which was why I bought their overpriced AV cable. Then they had the nerve to tell me I would have to come back tomorrow and pay them another $70/hr to run AV cable which they were supposed to do in the first place on top of already paying $800 to do a 4-5 hr job that lasted all day. If you do decide to go their I hope your experience is not like mine just be warned that their prices are high and their service is below standard.
2019 Tacoma. Rockford fosgate P1000X5 DSR1 processor two subwoofers and subwoofer enclosure using existing head unit.Called 3 times, spoke to 3 different people and got 3 different prices. All with the same setup. And they charge $30 for each item you bring instead of buying from them. Do they make commission? Over 1000 bucks and with my own equipment? With the covid19 going around and businesses being very slow or shutting down youd think they would give you a break. I went to FAR BEYOND TINT and got quote for A FRACTION of what these guys were gonna charge.4/15/20Went to xzibit custom audio and charged me 400 which was more than fair and way way less than competition sound and sounds freaking amazing. Competition sound IS a Rockford fosgate dealer but they make it sound like theyre the only ones that knows about the intricacy of the product.
They have a great show room but went there to have a viper remote start and alarm but the tech did a very poor install. He left screws missing from my vech all over the driver seat the alarm works well but be aware that screws are placed back where they need to be put .

THE HOLES THEIR INSTALLER DRILLED INTO MY GAS TANK is the reason this place will never get a cent of my money again. The trunk of my car has more than 15 places that a ground wire can be attached but, they decided to drill 2 holes through the rear underseat area...STRAIGHT INTO MY TANK.It took me months to figure out why I kept smelling fuel inside the the car. I removed the rear seat to find their ground attachment OOZING GASOLINE and the seat pan was full of gas as well. It was so bad, that my eyes were burning and nausea ensued in less than 30 minutes of driving.Long story short, I took it there because I didnt have time that week to do it myself. But, after having to buy another gas tank and install it due incompetence, I will be patient and do my own work from now on.Shoddy work seems to be a continuous theme among most Corpus Christi automotive businesses. So, if you can do it yourself, do it! Dont let some shop put your life, or your loved ones lives, in jeopardy.The ONLY REASON Im giving this one star is because Google is forcing me to. Common sense says, if I drill one hole into the gas tank, stop drilling, or am I wrong???
This place is not for African Americans they will take your money but when you try to get service on the item that you purchased is where they start giving you problems in treat you as if youre not human due to the fact of the color of your skin

They charged me $58 for inch and a half roll bar light mounts that are $22 at Best Buy way overpriced and they acted like they were cutting me a deal I will never go back...! I normally dont leave bad reviews but I feel like I got screwed over.

First went there to find out if they could work on my truck radio. Got an estimate. Then I made an appointment to replace the radio. I asked how long it would take to do the job. Was told by Harley about two hours. On date of appointment arrived at 9 am and by 10 am job completed. People are friendly did a very good job.Am enjoying the new radio!!!!!

Don’t wait your time or money here, they’re way too expensive. i had a problem with my system, took it back & they said they fixed it but they didn’t. It took forever to get an appointment for them to look at it so I’m not going to take it back for a 3rd time. Never giving them my business & would recommend you do shopping around before you go here because again they charge too much for a simple install. I regret going here

I would strongly recommend against going to this business. I have had multiple installs done with them and they are expensive and do not last. I have wasted over $500 due to their poor work. The workers are lazy, unprofessional, and not looking to help. On top of this, the markup is insane. Do yourself a favor and go to Best Buy. They did a great job cleaning up competition sound’s poor work there. I will not go to this business ever again

Too expensive, they take too long to work on your car... They took a whole day on mine just installing fog lights, headlights and side mirrors... A WHOLE DAY... I wanted to install new HIDs I brought mine and they convinced me to buy LED for my headlights... Showed me a demonstration station for comparison which is already tuned to make the LED brighter than the other ones... After installing LED they are way less bright than my regular halogen bulbs... And they kept my HID kit with ballast didnt return to me... One of my side mirrors moves awkwardly doesnt take the right controlled movements from my panel. DONT TRUST THIS PLACE

Im surprised they are in business hard wired a compressor on my truck withought a relay so it runs all the time instead of putting it on a relay switch so that it only comes on when the ignition is on and pulled the fuse out of it so it runs all the time with no fuse, recipe for disaster. Its like they wanted my truck to burn down. IF YOU DO BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS YOU ARE A FOOL. I wish I would have read the reviews before I took my truck here

The stars dont really say how I feel about this place. The place itself is ok, but their customer service needs improvment. I have a current problem with my 2010 Ford F-150 the censor on the back door latch doesnt read. And say that the door is open. The first time I took it they said that theyd do it or about $200 - $300. That I would bring it back at a later date. Well I brought it back for the repair this time the sales rep was VERY dismissive. (Sorry I didnt catch his name). First he asked me if Ive been helped. I said yes and proceeded to tell him about the truck when another rep walked by and in front of me, he cuts me off and tells that rep if he could take me, because he was too busy. When the other rep replied that he couldnt, I continued. Then again got stopped because he told me that they dont do that kind of work. That they dont replace door latch assemblies for the vehicles...... So I guess Im going to have to go to the dealer. I was trying to avoid from going there.
