I have been with Irving for a long time. They are a great company. They always there to help me and very kind. They are honest and value their customers. Nothing in life is perfect but having someone listen and work with you in this world is big and they do this.

I contacted Irving in August about removing my small propane tank and installing a underground tank next to a new garage I am building. Appointments were weeks out and they came to evaluate the site on September 28th. I had already run a new line to the house, installed the tubing and had it inspected. The hole for the tank was already excavated. Only the trench to the new generator location remained. I called about a week later and the install was scheduled for October 19th. One tech arrived with the tank and setting the tank took no time at all. Later that day the install technician arrived but he didnt have the correct parts. I had also decided to run a new line into the garage and I needed to excavate that trench. He ran the line to the generator pad and left the coil to run into the structure. He assured me that once I called they would be right out. However when I did the appointment I was given an appointment weeks away on December 3rd. In the meantime we got a large rainstorm and the tank floated so it would need to be reset. When there was no call the night before I was suspicious yet in the morning when I checked they were still coming. They never showed and when I called they said they were short staffed and they would need to reschedule. Instead of getting promptly, I was given a new appointment on January 14th. In other words, I was put at the back of the line. I have not mentioned it but due to the old tank not being removed I have been prevented from running power to the new structure and todays rain has caused the new tank to completely float and the earth under the old one is starting to collapse as it was partially excavated to run the new line. This has been the worst experience. I am going to purchase my own tank and tell Irving to come and get theirs. I wont deal with a company who has people in the office who have no idea about field conditions and what needs to be addressed versus what can be postponed and I have no patience for being simply placed at the back of the line.

Ive been with Irving for more than 10 years. Yes, they make some mistakes, but theyre a very good company. Today Mark fixed a mistake promptly, and he was so calming and professional. Their drivers have been courteous and we can count on them. And thanks Sherry for years of pre-buy contracts we count on.

Im sorry that people are having issues with Irving. We have been a customer for over 15 years and weve never experienced a problem. I love talking to Customer Service. They are always helpful. The people that deliver oil are always friendly. I think once in 15 years, our delivery guy couldnt make it up our driveway (small but steep hill) and we figured out a time for him to come and our plow person made sure the hill was well sanded. No problem. The team that comes out to service our furnace (which we bought from Irving) is always friendly and personable. They know what they are doing. We have dogs and luckily whoever comes out likes dogs so that works. I also like their monthly budget feature when Im buying oil each season. While they might be a bit more expensive then some, there are certainly more expensive companies and their service appears to be terrible. They get a thumbs up from us!

Been a customer for over 10 years, never had to wait on the phone to schedule a delivery for so long. The first round of waiting on the phone they hung up on me after 10 minutes, the second time same day I finally got a hold of someone and she said that the oils would be delivered on Friday the 11th. Saturday my husband and I realized no oil was delivered. So I called again and the automated system said customer service was open but wasn’t..... so I had to wait on the line and used the emergency line to speak with someone who tells me they see the order but nothing done with it. He says someone will call me on Monday. I waited until 3:30pm and no phone call. So I sit on hold AGAIN for 15 minutes to find out they put me on the schedule for this Friday. But that will only happen if there are enough people in your area (I learned that Saturday). So I told them to cancel the delivery and their customer service has gone down hill.

Made appointment for service on my propane heater and no one showed up. No phone call stating they were running late or wouldn’t make the appointment! Poor customer service! Lack of consideration & professionalism as People take days off work & rearrange their schedules for these appointments only to have a no show!!

Listen the reviews. This company is the worst! I regret changing to them. They are expensive, they cancel their appointments constantly saying due to emergencies, and they do not have enough staff. I didnt think it could get worse than Rymes, was I wrong. It has taken me over 5 months to get a 30 ft gas line installed, they have canceled my appointment three times, and its still not installed. And, more importantly, they dont care. DONT DO IT!

Just TRIED to have service for my furnace. Been using Irving for several years now with no issues. This guy comes in and starts to complain about my stairs to the basement (they’re steep) and the height of my basement ceiling right away. He’s really tall... I’m thinking, dude, this is New England. OLD houses and creaky steep stairs are a thing here... every other guy who has come before has been great and never whines about my old basement stairs or ceiling. Anyways, 40 minutes later he’s waiting for a safety supervisor to come out and inspect my stairs and ceiling for safety. On a side note, when we bought this house, we put in 1000’s worth of structural supports in the basement just because we wanted added safety. They are plainly seen... transferring oil companies now. How much more would that cost me to have to have two people come out every year? His attitude sure changed after I called to inquire about what was taking so long. After that, everything was ma’am this and ma’am that.

Over all, Irving has done good by me. However, we had a recent experience that took me back. We had called to schedule a propane delivery for last Monday. Due to weather, they couldn’t come but said they’d be here Tuesday. They must have shown up at the crack of dawn, saw some ice in the driveway and chose to not deliver. I’m okay with that, as it stands. They called and left a message explaining they would be back out the following Monday, their usual day in the area. Well, Monday came and went with a no show. So I called, and was told that, since we are a “will call” customer, WE needed to call to schedule a new delivery. How would we know that, especially when the dispatcher message closely said they would be back out the following week? They dropped two stars for me.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Before we left for vacation In November I contacted them to confirm we would have a fuel delivery while we were away. I was assured there would be a delivery while we were gone. We returned in mid November to a nearly empty tank and it took 6 phone calls before we had an emergency delivery. Each time we called we were assured we would have a delivery and each time we called back to confirm there was no record of our call. I am again waiting in mid December with another empty tank after having called last Thursday to tell them we were at 20% And needed a delivery. The dispatcher refused to schedule a delivery since we weren’t empty and we’re on a scheduled delivery day of the following Wednesday. We were told to turn the heat down and conserve fuel until Wednesday. I told her based on our previous usage we wouldn’t make it to Wednesday. She said well if you run out, then we’ll come out. We went away for a couple of days and sure enough when we returned on Wednesday We were out of fuel and there had been no delivery. One hour and 40 minutes ago we were assured there would be a delivery within 2 hours. Still waiting. The office is now closed. It’s supposed to be 5 degrees tonight. I can only imagine what’s going to happen when I call their office after hours. If I could give a zero star rating I would. Go to any other propane company. Do not use Irving.

Its unfortunate folks have had a bad experience with Irving. Mine has been great. I have automatic delivery and even last year when people were having issues statewide they were right on the ball. My experience with customer service was fine. I only called once to set up automatic from COD and that was fine. I docket them a star because they are certainly not the best price around.

When you call for emergency service at 11:30pm because the temperature is around zero degrees and the outside propane line regulator is frozen for the third year in a row (outside regulators are the fuel companys responsibility) resulting in no propane coming into the house for heat, hot water, and cooking, one expects the emergency service people to respond pretty quickly or at least in a timely manner, especially when they quote an emergency service surcharge of $195+/-. An hour and a half later at 1:30am I get a call from the emergency service technician who tells me hes finished his previous call but hes two hours away and he doesnt feel like driving that far so hell call me around 5:00 or 6:00 am and will be there by 9:00am. And then I dont get a call or anybody showing up at my now very cold house and I have to call the Irving 800 number again to get them to send somebody out. Who then doesnt arrive until about noon, 10-1/2 hours after my initial emergency service call. THATS NOT HOW EMERGENCY SERVICE IS SUPPOSED TO WORK, ESPECIALLY WHEN THERES A ADDITIONAL $195+/- EMERGENCY SERVICE CHARGE BEING QUOTED. Welcome to the world of Irving Energy!

I have used Irving for almost 20 years and never had a single problem. Their customer service people on the phone are always top notch, they know their stuff and they are incredibly helpful. The drivers are friendly. The one time we had a gas odor in the yard, they appeared immediately and took care of the problem.

I cant believe how I have been treated by this company. I have paid my bill faithfully for 5 years . I had a budget plan that they set up and never called me or monitored my budget plan and are now telling me I owe $2800.00. I should have known they say because I get a statement or leave a tag on my door. Arent you the owner of this plan people who do this for a living. If I had 2800.00 I wouldnt need the budget plan. Definitely looking for a new gas company and wont be using their gas stations anymore.Seriously disappointed in this corporation!Make it right.

Absolute WORST company ever!!!! Customer service does NOT communicate and pass the correct information down but will claim they have when you call back! I had an issue with my oil and I called customer service who told me they would send someone out for me, but they NEVER submitted information or scheduled anything. I called months later and they said nothing was submitted in the system so they’ll do it then. Guess what? Once again they didn’t submit anything!! It wasn’t until I demanded them do something that they actually did. So sick of this company! Do yourself a favor and DO NOT work with them!!!!

Had a budget plan set up and never once heard from this company regarding it and was recently hit with a $3k bill. We have had awful experience with Irving and when we switched propane companies, they wouldn’t sell the tank to the new company out of spite (it was bad enough that the new company said they would no longer work with Irving moving forward). We have been trying for 12 months to have Irving get their tank but after 3 visits, they can’t figure out how to remove the tank without wrecking our landscaping.

Been with Irving Oil for about 12 years with no issues, but recently the customer service has nose-dived. Service appointment issues and were on auto delivery for oil (have been for years) and I realize I havent had a bill from them for awhile. I look at my tank and its down to a quarter in January. Not Okay. I had to call and ask them to come fill the tank. Then I mentioned due to various service issues I was thinking of switching and they have their customer relationship person call me to discuss. Basically she was even more RUDE. So while I was going to give them another chance, I gues now I have to move on. Im just not willing to take that kind of treatment.

I have used irving oil for three years now with out a problem. Now all of a sudden the driver puts my 100 gallons in my neighbors tank for some reason, even though shes not a irving customer and our pipes were clearly marked with the irving tag they are calling us liers! Now over a week later, 30 phone calls, a few of there employees telling us theyll fix it and then the next emplyee going right back to arguing. Pathetic!! If I dont get the $300 in oil owed to me I am filing a suit against irving and never doing bussiness them again! Very sad...

Absolute worst experience with a company my family has ever had!!! Every time I call to ask a question, the employees are extremely apathetic and we have yet to speak to someone that shows as if they care. We are from the south and have never had oil to heat our home before, but they do not care and want to charge us to ask legitimate questions. They are pricey, rude, slow at answering emails, and NOT worth the waste of your time. We tried emailing since every time we called, we were received with rude workers. I work in customer service and this is unacceptable. We WILL be switching companies.-Heather Carter

Customer service is worst in this company, we called before 11AM to get propane out to our tank because we where running low. They forced us to pay the emergency service so that they can fill up or propane the NEXT DAY on there regular scheduled Friday delivery. When we asked them why the emergency charge if we just called for regular delivery they said “ we charge emergency fee when ever our schedule is full” so that means if if I had called by Monday to part of there regular delivery they would still charge me. As soon as I figure out how to get rid of their propane tank I am switching companies.
