I have been a general building contractor for over 30 years... Do yourself a favor, and do not come into the Concord location.. fiith strike and youre out. They have nothing but kids working in here they dont understand how to do anything efficiently, and if you try to pull in here with a trailer you can forget about it... You cant park on the street because of fire curb. Youll have faster and better experience going to home Depot and grabbing one of their people there to help you... And I say that facetiously...

Although the quality of the wood Lumber is good,But Redwood Lumber Heart S4S is much more expensive than HomeDepot and Lowes.I don’t know why?

This was my first visit to Golden State and I was pleasantly surprised. The Lumber prices were better than Lowes or Home Depot and they load it for you. Awesome place with good selection of building supplies.

Went in to get an estimate not one staff member made any attempt to great me or help me there were several members sitting they looked at me and still nobody attempted to help so screw you you do have competition and thats where I went

This is real fresh to me with a huge store like this. Mainly, I shop for Red wood lumbe for a patio deck and stair. Those a lot of lumber are well organized and systematic. The lumber keep neatly on the loading rack. There also find for higher quality Red Wood on 2 nd. level floor. NO matter youre a pro people or DIY, definitely you will find what you like in quality lumber. Asking any person who work there are nicely and helful.Surely, I shall get back there for a quality lumber.

Update to original review: Golden State Lumber came back to me and rectified the issue. It would have been better and less time consuming to have the correct delivery from the beginning but GSL did finally make it up to me. It shows that they care about the customer and are willing to fix things. At this point I will remain a customer and can recommend GSL to others. Just be careful, as you would in any other situation, to get very clear documented details of your order so in case there is an issue you will be sorted out.Incorrect delivery unfortunately was not rectified by GSL:Over the phone I ordered 48 10 long pieces of wood for a slat fence. I received 44 12 long pieces with the understanding, as per Bill H of the Concord location who I got on the phone during the delivery, that GSL would correct the order.I was very specific to order 48 10 long pieces because that is exactly what I would need for the fence. So the order was wrong in two ways:1. I did not receive 48 pieces2. I received 48 (528-480) linear feet too many of the wrong length of wood.I tried to explain this to Bill H. twice, once on the phone and once in person but no matter. He simply did not understand that I could not use the remaining 2 pieces. This isnt difficult I said at some point, I need 48 10 long pieces, not 480 1 long pieces. Anyway, I am disputing part of the charge and wont be going back to GSL.Beware: Getting orders corrected, when it was GSLs fault, is pretty much a waste of time.

They recently opened this facility near my home, between my house and the Home Depot, so I was excited to see what they had as an alternative to HD. I was pleasantly surprised at how big and well-organized it was. I felt that it was fairly inviting, the people were friendly and encouraged me to wander around. Theres a big indoor area for all the wood, with a drive-through so you can easily pick up lumber. They have a pretty big area with tools and supplies, and seemed to have a good selection of good quality tools and other stuff that I dont see at HD.The lumber didnt have prices right there - you need to talk to someone behind the counter to get prices, so I priced a few things to get an idea of how the prices ran. I was pleasantly surprised, as the prices seemed to be cheaper than HD, and the quality looks better. If its not crowded, I dont mind asking for prices, as at HD, its not always obvious what the prices are, as they are so unorganized sometimes.If you spend $500, they deliver for $10 flat fee.And I got a free T-shirt!
