Late post. Visited in August and had a unique memorable experience. Celebrated my daughters birthday here and really 3-4 cool things to see/do. The Giant Cow in the front, the Taste Lab and the Milking of the Cow. They also have a tunnel slide for kids which kept my kids occupied for a bit. If you go here you have to pay the extra for the taste lab - where you get to make your own flavoring of ice cream. Worth the extra few bucks. We brought 2 taste lab tickets but they let 4 of us create our flavors. I guess it wasnt too busy and we appreciated it. They also allowed us to switch our time slot as we were running late. Over all great staff. Fun experience. $50 for family fun worth it.
We attended for my daughters birthday, enjoyed the presentation and instructions about the ice cream process. Loved making our own ice cream, the great selection of ingredients and samples. Tour of building was amazing. Staff was very friendly and provided great customer service. Working on bringing more family soon. Thank you
Such an educational, fun, and delicious place for all ages! Learn a lot about this yummy company. Ice cream, tea, and lemonade. The experience is so cool! Interactive exhibits, create your own ice cream flavors and carton design, learn about how ice cream is made, why Turkey hill is special, and much more! Free samples of ice cream, tea, and lemonade. I recommend doing the ice cream lab! Learned more and had fun creating my own flavor of ice cream.
Very nice way to spend a rainy day. The exhibits were interesting. The activity of virtually creating your own flavor, making a box and filming a commercial were fun for all ages. The samples of tea and ice cream were great. We also did the lab if creating a real flavor was good but if we went back again I would pass. We also go to participate if a tea tasting focus group and were given vouchers for the gift shop. It was nice.
My husband loves Ice Cream and TH is his favorite, so I booked the experience. They ask you to arrive 45 minutes early but that is to allow time to see the museum, which you can do after. We arrived 30 minutes early and had a few samples before starting bout experience. It was really fun! The room was only half full, which was nice (go on a weekday if you can!). We were both very experimental with our additions and had a great time sampling flavors and mix-ins! The experience is more educational than I expected, and isnt just one big advertisement for Turkey Hill!
A FUN experience for under $11 for kids of all ages who love Ice Cream... Or Ice Tea! Learn about the ice cream making process through nice presentations and some interactive displays. Create your own ice cream flavor then tell everyone about it by making your very own Turkey Hill brand commerical. To top it all off.. you get unlimited free samples of Turkey Hill Ice Teas and Ice Cream.. Maybe tough to decide your favorite.. but youll have a yummy and delicious time trying.
So much fun for us and our 2.5 year old. Lots of enjoyable things to do for all ages. My toddler e en did well creating her own ice cream in class. Gift shop was reasonably priced with lots of wonderful options for souvenirs. Place was very clean and bathrooms easily accessible. Staff was very friendly and elevators are available if stairs are an obstacle. Lots of parking. We had a blast!
This is an amazing, expansive experience for families to enjoy the behind the scenes experience of a favorite treat of many - ice cream! The activities and exhibits are very engaging. This being my second time around, I can say that it still packs in a lot.Be sure to include time in the taste lab where you can make and eat your own ice cream creation. Also, check out their beverage selection - very understated and underrated. Great place for families to spend some time!
The Turkey Hill Experience was decent enough. No actual factory tour, just videos, things to read and some interactive areas. Our boys were 13 and 14 and they did enjoy themselves, although younger kids may enjoy it more. The areas were spacious and everything was clean. We enjoyed trying the different teas, although there were only about 10 to try, not nearly all of their flavors. You could also try samples of a number of ice creams, although the gentleman serving the samples seemed to be having a bad day. His attitude was short and he nearly slammed the samples down on the counter. My boys were hesitant to go ask for any further samples and we only ended up trying a couple. We also did the Taste Lab. It was in a fairly crowded room, although each group had their own sections. You received a pint of vanilla ice cream to start (I wish there was the option of a chocolate base). There was an assortment of flavorings to add to the ice cream. We were told 5 drops should do it. I wanted banana and added at least 4 times that many drops and it still just tasted like vanilla. The amount of stirring needed to keep adding flavoring was making my ice cream melt, so I gave up. Next came the mix ins. There was maybe 12-15 options. It was okay. Lastly were the syrups. The tops of some of the bottles looked a bit iffy. I added chocolate and peanut butter and my mostly melted mess still mostly tasted like vanilla (which I dont care for). None of us were extremely impressed with the Taste Lab. Overall, it was a fun one-time experience, but probably nothing we would do again.
We really enjoyed this stop. The exhibits were interactive and the tastings (all included in admission) were great. Virtually creating a flavor, its package and commercial was a blast. It was worth the extra to create our own in the tasting lab.
If your passing through, why not. Interesting place to see how Turkey Hill makes their ice cream. Fun things for the kids to do and there is all you can eat ice cream and ice tea. Veterans go through the museum for free. It would have been really cool if we could have toured the actual area where the ice cream is made.
We had a lot of fun at the Turkey Hill Experience they have a gift shop with reasonable prices and we had a taste test of ice cream. You get the chance to see what the history of Turkey Hill is. So if you want to learn how they make ice cream and all about Turkey Hill its a good educational and fun experience.
This was a good tourist attraction, but overall a disappointment. It is definitely more appropriate for kids. Highly suggest attending the lab portion to make your own ice cream. There was a museum you could go through as you wait for the lab part, and there were unlimited samples of the turkey hill tea and full scoops of ice cream. There were limited flavors on the ice cream (mostly the basic flavors of turkey hill). There were also some video games upstairs and a few photo opportunities. We expected it to be a tour of the factory and were slightly disappointed. The gift shop did have a lot of cute merchandise.Regarding the lab, it was fun to make your own ice cream. You started with a pint of creamy vanilla that tasted amazing. You could add a sauce, flavor, and unlimited toppings. Unfortunately, the person who led our lab was unprofessional. She kept yelling at everyone that they were doing things wrong. While I understand that she probably has had to deal with some frustrating situations, this is not a reason to have an attitude with people who want to make ice cream. The ice cream honestly started to melt by the end.
A pretty cool place to visit if you happen to be in the area. There are a few interesting things to see, free ice cream samples and a few other interactive things to do. They have a gift shop and of course they have their ice cream and beverage products for sale. The tour is self guided and fairly low cost.
Absolutely loved it! My kids 6 and 8 had so much fun. Definitely recommend yhe taste lab!
What a great place to visit! They had am awesome Museum for the kids, great gift shop and lots of tasting options of iced tea and ice cream. The only things you may want to consider are the following: if you are bringing an infant and need to breastfeed, the rocking chairs in the beginning of the museum are the best place to feed your child (they dont have any places other than that), bring some hand sanitizer (in case the bathroom doesnt have soap), and the bathrooms are only on the first floor. I would definitely recommend visiting, just be mindful of these things.
Perfect for all ages. Took my teenage girls and they LOVED it. The only thing we couldnt do was the tea class but there was unlimited sampling of tea and ice cream during the self guided tour. Definitely save room for make your own ice cream.
Everything you ever wanted to know about milk and ice cream. The Make Your Own Ice Cream demo is highly recommended.
Very neat and fun especially for the price. Great ice cream and juice samples! Orange tea is the best!
Awesome time filled with lots to learn about how ice cream is made, and the best part was the lab where you get to make your very own ice cream. It was super cool and really just a sweet time! Definitely come here for an afternoon of fun.
Fun even if you dont have kids. Great AAA and Military discounts. 2-Scoop ticket price lets you build your own real ice cream, while 1-scoop tickets only let you build it virtually. Both ticket price levels give you all you can eat ice cream samples of their amazing ice cream. Lots of great history and interactive things for kids of all ages to enjoy.
It was a good day.3 stars because the system was down when we arrived so the wait was not fun. The lady at the tasting lab was FANTASTIC! If you love ice cream, this is the place to go. The servings of ice cream were big. They teach you how to mix the flavors and toppings. It was a fun, relax day with the family. The employees practiced social distance and they had everything very well organized when at the tasting lab. We were the last ones to leave and I saw how they were disinfecting the tables, seats, bottles where toppings were and the aggregation center.
Nice place to learn about ice cream and cows. Samples to try of drinks and ice cream. Like a museum but editable. Pro Tip: Avoid the orange flavor. Not sure what it really is, but it isnt orange at all. They should remove it from their choices, but until they do - you dont want it.
Good place for little kids, small place, great samples of their products.
We had a great time, loved the tea and ice cream samples. Not sure why it is such a price increase to participate in the lab. You arent really doing anything besides mixing flavors and ingredients into soft serve ice cream. It was fun but not worth paying almost $8 more. Thats 2 half gallons of ice cream really. And they literally give you a cup of soft serve and some candies to go in it. But overall we had fun.
First time we went it was amazing so we decided to go back again and it wasn’t the same the lab felt very rushed and it just wasn’t as good and as interactive the sampling wasn’t great either first time the woman behind the sampling counter made it clear we can sample any flavors we like the older gentleman this time made it one and done which was sad because they had some flavors I’ve never tried before but only was able to try one the dark dark chocolate i thought it was unlimited sampling but guess not who knows I don’t know but don’t think we will do it again
So glad we made the trip. Both my son (6YO) and I enjoyed the entire experience. Definitely do the ice cream lab.
This was a lot of fun for all ages! We did the tasting lab along with the regular experience but I would say we would have had just as much fun doing just the Experience and forgoing the lab (it was basically a make your own sundae). The instructions when buying the Lab said to arrive 45 minutes before your reserved lab time. I think the main reason they want you there so early is just so youre not late for the lab, but they instructed us to do the upstairs section and come back 5 min before our lab time. I would have much rather just arrived 10-15 minutes before our lab time and done that first, and then went to explore upstairs, because the little kids were excited to get into the upstairs section and we had to keep an eye on the clock and pull them away shortly after starting, then go back up after the lab. Overall a great time, highly recommend!
Cute place to learn about ice cream, the history and process of making it. This is a self-guided tour and not the real turkey hill factory. In the end, you can have unlimited samples of 10 different flavors of icecream. The variety is different each day
Great place to take the kids and to learn all the history behind Turkey Hill. Plus, of course, all the ice cream and tea!
Fun time for a family and learn something like the Franklin Institute of ice cream
This is a must stop. Taste lab was fun and yes it gets a little loud in there as the kids are super excited (to many people complain about this, let the kids be kids). Very well but together and informative self walk through exhibits to interact with.
One of the best experiences for the family in Lancaster area. Make sure to book Ice Cream Lab. Its a lot of fun for children and the best ice cream Ive tried (Im not an ice cream person). Tip: go early as crowd gets big after 11am.
Fabulous experience! Super friendly and helpful staff. Good activity for all ages. Took us about one and a half hours without the Lab Experience.
Awesome time and you learn and get to make your own ice cream. Good time for kids and adults 👍
This made a fun day trip. Pay the extra to make your own flavor.
This was a very fun experience. The kids had a blast with unlimited ice cream and iced tea. A must visit place if you are in the area
Great place to swing by driving through PA. Very nice and clean inside. Amazing place for kids and well worth the ice cream experience.
100% a Fun Family Experience! If you have Served in the military or currently active duty service member, Turkey Hill thanks you with a free admission. Both my wife and I are Veterans and of our 3 son’s ages 1,3,6 we paid $10 to get in. We ended up spending what we would have paid on admission at the gift shop and on tips for the unlimited ice cream and iced tea bars. Hopefully you will get to enjoy a Fun Family day at the Turkey Hill Experience. Make sure to book online to ensure you have a slot especially on the weekends!
Our kids had a blast! The website says to allow for 2.5 hours. We went on a busy day, so we wish we would have known that we should have given ourselves at least 3.5 hours. There was plenty for our kids to do, but we didnt get to all of it because we needed to rush to the Ice Cream Making Experience. That was quite a fun experience (though none of the kids liked the results of their ice cream, yet both us adults make some really delicious ones). The only negative about the Ice Cream Making Experience was that everyones was melted before we even finished making it.Overall, the kids had a great time. The ice cream and teas were great. And the staff were great. We would gladly recommend this for kids ages 2 - 15 (though most of the play activities are for up to around age 10).
This place was one of the highlights of our trip! It is definitely worth the money and so much fun for all ages.
We had such a great time! We enjoyed all of the interactive stations as well as the ice cream and tea samples! I have to say our favorite part was mixing our own flavors of ice cream! Such a great experience, we cant wait to visit again!
Awesome store has everything for your traveling needs conveniently located right off the exit
Factory tours can be kinda ho-hum, but this is self-guided, so you determine your own adventure. Of course, you wanna go and load up on free ice cream and tea samples, but the arcade games, videos and make your own flavor activities are engaging, too. The staff is super kind and the Callie Cash makes you feel like you need to buy everything in the gift shop:) Id gladly go back for another day trip.
The Experience was fun and worth the trip. The combination of comoany/family history, interactive exhibits and samples was almost perfect. Creating our own on the tasting lab was blast!
Family fun for all ages. Sample teas and ice cream and other activities
Super fun place! I had a great time with my family! Theres things there for all ages, so nobody goes without having a good time. They also have super cool souvenirs.
Such a great experience! Taste lab was a real fun way to see how they make ice cream on a small, personal scale....just dont think my kids could ever make it as their choice in flavors were quite interesting. The other activities, such as the create your own commercial, iced tea and ice cream tasting, and everything else created a best day ever experience for my children. Well worth the money and 2.5 hour trip.
Very nice experience for young and old persons. The entire experience was great. This would also be a good place to go on a date. 😁.
This was fun, but some of the touch screens were not responding well. It would also have been nice to have sips of water to have with the ice cream samples. I tried a flavor I never had before and it was super yummy! We bought the ticket where you can make your own flavor. The speaker was a bit hard for me to hear, but it was a good experience. Those are my only critiques.
This experience was great fun! From the tasting station to the make your own ice cream I had a blast even if my ice cream turned into a milk shake. There was a moderate crowd but advance tickets were required so we had our spot. The presentation was informative and explained the ice cream process in detail. This is a good family adventure and well worth the 18.95.
The unlimited samples are a nice idea but I got sick of it pretty quickly. Only about 10 flavors were available to try. They make 67 flavors. I have no idea where the other 57 flavors were. The make your own flavor was the most disappointing. They came out with a quart of soft frozen ice cream and had us mix in 5 drops of what they called flavoring. Then they had us stir in room temperature add ins and we had to eat it right there. When we asked for lids they said they didnt have any because they cost more than the containers. They also didnt have a blast freezer to solidify the ice cream so we just had cold milk soup. Very disappointing.
Interesting place. Great for kids. My husband did taste room with our son as a lap child. While they were in the tasting room I was able to walk around and read the history of Turkey Hill. Our son loved the ice cream truck, ice cream parlor and slide. The tea and ice cream samples were really nice.
Absolutely SO MUCH FUN for both children and adults of all ages. There were many interactive stations to participate in the variety of creative activities. I would definitely recommend!! Great picture opportunities, pleasant staff, and clean environment. We didnt get to participate in making our own ice cream concoction bcs the classes were all full. I looked in one of the classrooms, though, and its definitely something I want to go back and do. The AYC drink/eat of the teas and ice cream is over-the-top, just so you know!Love it!
It was unique and interesting finding how the Ice cream and Tea products came ccx about. Very much enjoyed the making of my own ice cream flavor and the free scoop samples for the day.
Great place for a family experience! Educational but tons of fun. Free samples of drinks and ice cream!
Nice family place and it was a winner for our daughters birthday 🎉🥳
Amazing experience, make your own icecream, Eat unlimited icecream and iced tea tasters. And all for those that need %100 percent OU Kosher! Definitely recommend although still feeling that food coma 🤤🍦
Great experience to learn about the history of Turkey Hill and to create your own custom ice cream flavor. Best for kids, but adults can enjoy as well with the unlimited iced tea and ice cream samples throughout the building.
Had a great time at the ice cream taste lab. Spend the extra money to include this in your ticket as it’s both fun to create your own ice cream and rewarding to eat a pint of your own creation. Both kids and adults were enjoying it.The experience upstairs was cute, but mostly designed for kids. Happy we had a chance to see it and taste some of the label’s current flavours. We had fun designing packaging for our ice cream flavour.
I absolutely love Turkey Hill ice cream and have been waiting years to try the THE. This experience is more of a free for all, guide yourself, cluster of ice cream related things. The space is small and everything is crowded into one area. It was extremely crowded, there were no real directions on how to navigate the area or how to use your ticket. There was a video to watch that supposedly explains this, but we could never get in to watch because there were so many people. We waited in line for over 20 minutes to make, what we thought was our own ice cream flavor, but it was just a virtual flavor, that you can download and view on your phone later as a momento. My kids were so sad we didnt get to make a commercial, but standing in line again, for over 20 minutes, is not what they expected and so we left to go try the ice cream. The unlimited sample areas were also so crowded so we were only able to get one sample before it was time for us to go on our taste lab. As an extreme lover if Ice cream, this was very upsetting to me. We headed to the taste lab, which is an extra expense, but was basically a glorified ice cream bar you would have at a kids birthday party. I am highly disappointed. For five of us, it was almost $100 and certainly there was not anything worth that in activities nor in eating or drinking that makes it worth this high price tag. Turkey Hill, I expected better!
Enjoyed the tour and ice cream/ice tea tasting. Cool to see the history and background of the company. Take time to make your own ice cream below where you can choose your own flavors and create your own mixes.
Awesome. If you like ice cream...its so worth it.
Turkey experience was awesome. I like the interactive video making. They provide unlimited free ice creams. Highly recommend 👌
Let me say that the only reason for 3☆ is the price for what is offered. I get it, its a tourist attraction and so it will naturally be more expensive, especially since they need staff to manage different areas. The problem is that although you can sample as much ice cream and iced tea as you like. The flavors are very limited and do not rotate throughout the day. They could easily expand the flavor selections with more tea dispensers and way more freezer space. There are only 6 teas to choose from and 8 flavors of ice cream to choose from (9 if you include the fat free vanilla). Ice cream parlors have way more flavors than that. The staff are very friendly and the facilities were very clean. WARNING: This is for children ages 10 and under...maybe 12 and under at best. Very young kid oriented. Think about it, for $51 my family of 5 visited for 1.5 hours and had about $5 worth of ice cream and iced tea. That was just for the basic T. Hill Experience. Not worth it more than a rainy day, nothing else to do, kind of day!
Perfect for learning where your favorite ice cream came from.
This year was our 2nd trip to Turkey Hill. We loved it both times. We also did the taste lab and made our own ice cream. Fantastic experience.
What a neat place to visit with little ones. Lots of hands on activities. The ice cream lab was neat. Choosing your own flavors and mixers all while learning how turkey hill produces their product.
Very nice place. Clean. Very interactive. Found out they have tea flavors that arent available near me.
Very cute experience with my 5 year old. We explored the place for 4 hours and did the ice cream making class. The plain ice cream they gave was amazing. But it was fun to add in the toppings. The class was informative as well. Afterwards, we explored the play area, free ice tea area, awesome slide, free popcorn and more free ice cream. The five year old didn’t want to leave but we eventually did to go eat a late lunch.I’d recommend to a friend with kids 4-10.
Fun times! Great for the whole family!
Fun place especially making your own ice cream flavor
Was fun for all even the 2 yr old. The older ones made their own ice cream experience. Very enjoyable
Great place to visit if you ever traveling anywhere near that area. Weve been there multiple time and weve enjoyed it every time. Thank you to the staff for their great attitude and hospitality.
The staff was very nice and helpful. Enjoyed all the history and things to do. Loved the ice cream samples.
Fun place to look around. You can probably clear the whole experience in 1/2 a day, get pretty tired of it past that. Paying a bit extra to make your own icecream is sadly only BARELY worth it. Ate SO much free ice cream. **For Kids**
Good experience with the ‘Experience Admission’ tickets. Will go back when child is 5 years old and add the ‘Taste Lab’. Ice cream sampling was our favorite and you can never go wrong with their drink samples.
Worth every cent. What a wonderful way for kids to explore and learn. The tasting had a big variety of flavors. I was so surprised at how kid-friendly this place is. Beautifully decorated! We will be back!
Grandkids love TurkeyHill Experience. 2nd year back they are 8, and 10. Trying different ice cream flavors is a big hit.
This was a lot of fun and my whole family enjoyed it. Making your own ice cream was great, the free samples were great and learning about the history was really nice. Well worth it.
The visit at Turkey Hill Experience located in Columbia, PA, was fun. They have ice cream tasting and ice tea tasting area where you can taste different flavors they provide. They also have area where you can create your own ice creams. They have Classrooms A and B where you can see the experience in the lab. It was a good visit overall. Kids have a good time at this place.
This was such a cool experience (get it? lol) We loved the tasting lab and trying to do all of the hands on exhibits. It was so colorful and entertaining for all ages.
Had a great time here. My kids really enjoyed it. A great family weekend activity.
This is a perfect activity on a 97 degree day. It was overly crowded only downfall. There are alot of interactive activities. You get to learn the ice cream making process. They let you make your own sundae, you can sample their teas and ice creams. You get to create your own ice cream flavor, box picture and commercial for your created flavor.
Fun for ice cream lovers, especially families with young children
Loved it. Ice cream making class. History of Co. Staff very nice. Also Kosher for the orthodox. Unlimited tasting of different flavors. Loved all of them except banana and mint.
