My experience with Colombia Eye Associates was wonderful. They were very professional and friendly. I was concerned about not using a national chain, boy I was wrong. The glasses are spot on... the best pair I have owned to date. I would highly recommend them.

Columbia Eye Associates gave me the best eye exam, glasses and service. When you walk into the office you are greeted with friendly smiles and this includes Tito, the Goldendoodle. No need to fret over whether or not your frames will look good on you, let the expert, Jean do that for you.Wonderful experience from beginning to end.

It was a great decision to come to Columbia Eye Associates!Columbia Eye Associates was clean, bright, and the staff was very professional. It is an inviting space that is well lit and well merchandised without clutter. I was grateful they were on time and were following COVID-19 safety and cleaning procedures. Everyone was dressed appropriately, helpful and friendly. I was pleased with the eye exam by Dr. Denton. She was thorough and explained each step as we went along. Laura was such a help with my insurance costs, giving directions, and explaining the process. Jean gave me a warm welcome and has great style instincts that helped me pick the best frames for my face. I would highly recommend this practice! They are kind and thats exactly what we all need a little more of in this world right now :) Thank you!P.S. - After reading some of the older reviews, I think there is confusion between this practice and another with a similar name. Columbia Eye Associates is a great practice. There is another place called just Eye Associates which is off Hickory Ridge Rd. That is not a very well-run operation. I actually went there first, had an overall negative experience, and the doctor gave me an inaccurate Rx because of the rushed exam. So, I came to Columbia Eye Associates off Old Columbia Rd to get a 2nd opinion. It was the right decision because I received the proper care and diagnosis. Just something to make sure you are aware of because the practice names are very similar but the office, staff, and caliber of care is quite different.

Had a fantastic experience with Colombia Eye Associates! Professional, competitive pricing, great, top notch facility! Highly recommend! Wide selection of frames too, and contact lenses were really fairly priced.

This was a great experience! I went on a day where they were calling for 8 inches of snow, the office stayed and assisted me as i was the last customer of the day. Everyone was kind and helpful. The process was quick and enjoyable. I highly recommend them for anyone needing any kind of eye work or exams. Plus Dexter the dog is pretty cool! The one negative review is completely wrong! You wont regret going here one bit. Thanks for your help!

The doctor is amazing! Dr. Nancy Denton takes her time with you, answers questions, and is very proactive. Shes about eye care and your overall health. However, you may be taken aback by the front staffs cold demeanor. Shes not rude but not super friendly. I always take a deep breath and put on a big smile before going. This helps me level set for the businesslike command of fill out the form and have seat. Also, I ordered my contacts and forgot to pick them up. Havent received a friendly call to remind me that they arrived. Most places would call and say, hey... dont forget. So, theres that. But if youre looking for a doctor who keeps up with technology, genuinely cares about the health of her patients, and is super personable this is the place for you. Ive been Dr. Dentons patient for more than five years now. If it werent for her, I would have found another practice to be honest.I do agree with the other review, the frames are super expensive. But I did elect to get mine from there this time because of convenience.

My daughter and I both had a great visit yesterday from start to finish. The office staff was friendly and helpful. The optometrist was patient and thorough, ensuring the end result was providing us with the clearest vision options available to us. As a pet lover, we loved seeing the owners dog, Dexter, hard at work in the office welcoming everyone that came through the door. I highly recommend Columbia Eye Associates and will be trusting my familys eye care to them for many years to come.

I took my elderly aunt in to have her eyes checked. The staff was terrific, checking into insurance details on my aunts behalf, patiently helping her select frames, and arranging to have the glasses delivered to her when they were ready as I live far away. Dr. Denton was professional, knowledgable, patient, and took the time to develop a great rapport with my aunt, making sure she was clear about all the procedures. A great experience all around. Thank you so much!

Hello, first time visit and last. This office is not up to par with customer services and very aggressive sale tactics. My wife and I went in for an eye exam at the end of the year with hope to get the order in before the year end. Over the phone they said no additional charges and will be covered by vsp insurance but when done, we were charged additional fee. And after the exam she was pressured to purchase their eye glasses, my wife also cried after the appointment. And they wont write her a prescription on site. Seeing how they were, we called to ask them to fax the prescription over to Costco. They said yes over the phone but kept delaying the fax. After a couple phone calls back they said that they wont fax it. If we wanted bad enough we have to drive to pick up. Really! They couldnt have said that in the first place! Overall a bad experience and will not recommended to friends and family.

This place is still in business. Im surprised. Last time she threatened a law suit when I posted a negative review. And the good reviews are hard to believe they are real customers. But each have their own perspective. Best wishes for a good and different experience for you than I had.

I have been a customer of Columbia Eye Associates for many years. They are conveniently located in my neighborhood and accept VSP insurance. They have always provided me and my family with a great value and are always there when I need my glasses adjusted. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Two thumbs up!

I really liked the doctor, she is totally awesome, but their sales tactics and the sales person for glasses and frames was disappointing. I bought a pair of glasses last year that I hated. I had requested Varilux lenses but the owner convinced me that ‘Varilux is old technology, this new brand is so much better’ ... ‘everyone loves them’ ... ‘everyone here in the store has them and loves them’ ... etc. etc. etc. Well, who am I to question to her? I don’t know the differences between different technologies. I didn’t how ‘different’ different progressive lenses by different companies could actually be. So I had to trust her. Well, I hated the new glasses. I’ve worn progressives for 20 years, so I know that you need to give yourself time to get to use to them. And I tried my best. But I ended up throwing them in a drawer, and by that time it was too late to return them. They cost me about $800 after my insurance had paid some of the cost. So, this year, I decided to do something different. I wanted to save some money, so I reused my Silhouette frames and ordered new lenses only, and this time I demanded the Varilux lenses, and guess what, I love them! The problem is, the lab that replaced the lenses broke my frames and tried to hide it. They (Columbia Eye Associates) told me my lenses would be ready in about a week, and about a week later they called to tell me that the lab “made them wrong” and it would be another week or so before they would be ready. Ok, that was fine. A week late didn’t bother me. But after I got them and wore them for a week the frame fell apart. Upon closer inspection with the magnifying app on my iPhone I found glue residue where the temple arm connected to the hinge and an opening where a small piece of metal was missing. So, I went back to Columbia Eye Associates to ask if they could fix them and they said they would have to charge me $168 to order a new temple arm. Are you kidding me? Their lab CLEARLY broke them and tried to cover it up! I had no desire to spend any more money with them. So, I went on eBay and bought a used pair of Silhouette frames in excellent condition for $48. And I went on Amazon and bought the tool kit that is needed to swap out lenses in the rimless frames for $32. And now I am loving my Varilux lenses in new (to me) Silhouette rimless frames. And I will never go back to Columbia Eye Associates. I will add that the owner was pleasant but the other sales person I had to work with was rude and hell. And they are way overpriced. There are much better places out there. Do your research.

Their website states our patients have nominated us as Best Optometric Practice in Howard County for 2014 & 2015, which is misleading. Best of Howard County 2014 & 2015 for Eye Care went to Wilmer Eye Institute at Columbia both years. Columbia Eye Care did make the list under honorable mention along with two other practices. I honestly do not understand how it even made honorable mention. This place is anything but honorable, its a sham. The optometrist does a very thorough exam, but (and this is a big but!), she then walks you upstairs to pick out frames. Very poor selection of frames, high prices, and major pressure to buy. This office employs a high pressure sales approach. Also, if you do end up going there, make sure you ask for a copy of your prescription. You should get one without asking, but believe me, you wont.

This place is over charged. The owner wouldnt let me see the receipt, even not the copy. And I took two eye exams to confirm they gave me the right glasses, but still, not as good as my old ones. They even claim that one eye on my old glass was over corrected, which is not true. I will definitely not recommend this place to my friends.
