First time here had a gait analysis. The lady was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a lot of questions and she showed us a wide variety of different shoes. Shoes are priced similar to what youd find online. I will definitely be back!

Went to get new shoes for an upcoming marathon and the staff was beyond helpful! They analyzed my gait, helped me try at least ten shoes, listened to my feedback and gave recommendations based on my stride, goals, and comfort. I picked up a pair of Hoka’s (which I have been a die hard Brooks fan forever) and took them on six miles today. Never felt that good probably ever! So happy with my purchase. What a great experience. First time at this Runners Roost and I expected good service having done business at others elsewhere. But these folks went above and beyond my expectations. They took the time to get to know me and what I needed and worked very hard to get me the right shoe without up selling me. Runners roost sells quality shoes designed towards athletic wear. You should not expect going in that youre going to get a pair of bargain shoes. At the same time the prices were incredibly fair. I was able to bring my three kids in and it was nuts. But we were accepted with open arms and treated incredibly fairly. I would highly recommend them.

Not bad, found shoes that I liked and that felt good. Only thing frustrating about the store experience is that nobody acknowledged me when I came in and stood arpund all awkward until someone finally said something. I didnt even know who worked there. There were only 2 people. No Ill be with you in a minute. I was getting very close to leaving. And if there are a lot of people there, they dont help you 1 by 1, they have to help everyone at once at the same time. Makes no sense. The employees are all over the place. Id rather be told to wait 15 or 20 minutes on their couches so they can fully help that person and so the next ones can be fully helped as well. It feels like a tornado. I asked for other colors but then just took the ones I was given because I needed to get out of there because the guy was helping 2 other people at the same time and I felt pressured and unsure of what to say or do. I have social anxiety and it was a bit too much chaos going on. Talk to ONE person, tell the next Ill be with you shortly. Have them run the track in their handful of shoes, these arent good, these arent good, BINGO Ill take these, NEXT. I felt like I was a burden as I was being helped because his focus were more so on other people. Ill just measure myself and go somewhere less hectic next time. What an anxious messy experience. I feel like I got good shoes and all, well see how they hold up. Just expected it to be less of a walk in, walk out experience and more so trying to get fitted and find the perfect shoes for my running style, my needs, my quirks etc. Ehhh... Why I hate going outside...

Came in to replace my old Hoka One Torrents. Said I need a 9.5 or 10. They said they were out but had a 10.5. Day noted that was too big for my feet and the salesman kept trying to talk me into the 10.5. Come on guys, just because it’s the only size yikes have in stock doesn’t mean you should push that on your customers—- could be a sad day for someone on a long run to be in the wrong sized shoe.

Everyone in the store took their time to find the perfect pair of shoes and, beyond that, to teach my girlfriend and I why certain shoes worked better for our running styles as well as tips on how to correct our forms to prevent injury/run for extended periods of time. Super great customer service! I didnt realize that you need good running shoes to run well. Ive always ran in regular shoes because I didnt know and always wondered why my feet would hurt. They made me jog to see what shoes would look best on me and gave me super good shoes that were extremely comfortable. They also offer military discount so dont forget if youre a service member!

Both the older gentleman and younger worker were super friendly, very knowledgeable, and got me in and out in a decent time (considering I already had somewhat of an idea of what I needed). Needless to say, the shoes they picked for me are great and a perfect fit.

My husband and I both bought shoes here this week. We both worked with the owner, Gary Staines. He was knowledgeable, professional, honest, and patient. I came in with my current tennis shoes, which I knew didn’t fit quite right. He had me walk around the store without shoes, then with my shoes on. He brought out a total of 4 or 5 pairs, analyzed how I walked and suggested better fitting shoes for how I walk. I ended up with a pair a half size larger than I ever would have looked at. He also laced it more appropriately for my feet. They fit much better than my original pair. It was an amazing experience. I’m so glad I went in. I will definitely purchase more shoes here.

I recently went into Runners Roost for a new pair of running shoes. They didnt have my size in stock so they ordered them to be delivered directly to my house. For some reason the tracking showed delivered to my house but I didnt receive them. Shortly after my call to the store, Gary personally delivered a pair to my house. Thank you!

Ive been running for years but have never been fitted for shoes. Since Im getting older and running is more painful, I came here based on excellent reviews, and they did not disappoint. I have a unique gait and they had me try on a variety of shoes and easily identified the issues with my current running shoes while also helping me figure out the type of shoe I actually need to be running in. They watched me run in all of the different shoes and the shoes that felt best for me were also the shoes that they recommended I get, which says to me that they know what theyre doing when they can tell by my form which shoe will work best. I will keep coming here every time I need a new pair of running shoes because they are great at what they do, they went out of their way to help me, and Im glad to support local business. Rudely, my wife and I came in to the store 30 minutes before store closing on a Sunday night. Having worked in retail, I know how that can rub you the wrong way. Two young gentleman were working - I wish I had caught their names to give them kudos. Both were helpful, non pushy and professional. They listened to what we were looking for and made some recommendations. When I asked about a more expensive brand that I had previously worn (I can’t wear sneakers now due to a foot injury), they offered to bring them out to try but openly advised the name probably wasn’t worth the money given my wife’s shoe needs. It’s so rare these days to not be pushed to buy the most expensive item in retail so they can make a bigger profit! Anyway, we listened to their recommendations and found that they were right. Ultimately, we decided to hold off on buying the pair of shoes as we didn’t want to make a rush decision and the store was about to close. However, these two gents were gracious and never gave us a hard time or offered anything other than support. We will be back here given this store superior and non judgmental attitude. Well done!

Not just for runners.While the store is definitely geared towards runners dont let that discourage you from checking it out if your in need of a great pair of shoes. I came in because running shoes tend to be the best shoes for those like me with hip arthritis.The staff was amazing!I told them what I was looking for and I was brought a few pairs of shoe. That would have beaten most shoes store customer service but that was only the beginning. The shoe expert helped me try them on one at a time and watched me walk in each pair. He quickly narrowed in on my feet problems and a great pair of shoes that would help give me more comfortable mobility with my arthritis and planters fachiatis pains.The pain in my heel was immediately suppressed and after standing and walking about the store I left feeling comfortable with my purchase. Hours later on my feet the pain in my heel is no more then a dull ache and my athritic hip is doing better then I could have imagined. I couldnt be more thankful for the care I got at Runners Roost and ill be back in 400-500 miles when I need another pair.

This place has the most helpful staff of any shoe store Ive been to. They have a great selection of shoes and are experts in each one. The place is kept very clean and has all the equipment you need to scope out your purchases.They cater to runners, but as a non-runner, I find they dont have a problem with addressing my concerns as a person who wont care about all the runner details. They know exactly what you need if you just walk a ton, lift weights, cross train, or run.Even when busy, they make a point to acknowledge you and get to you as soon as they can. But, dont be surprised if they take a while...they are super thorough.

5 Stars all the way! My family happened upon Runner’s Roost and I’m so glad we did. Gary was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to educate us about the difference between running shoes, cross trainers and trail shoes. He patiently brought out different styles and brands for us to try on. We are not exactly accomplished athletes but he made us feel at home and answered all of our questions. We ended up buying running shoes and trail shoes for myself and running shoes and pants for our daughter. We went to the Runners Roost on 12-30-19 just before 2:00 P.M. to buy running shoes. Staff did not greet or acknowledge us when we entered the store, but they appeared busy so we browsed the store waiting for them to help the other customers already present first. After waiting for over ten minutes, my husband stood by the register and waited for the staff, but neither of the two store associates offered us any assistance or spoke to us. I sat down and waited for the staff to finish with the other customers, but when they had completed their shopping and left the store, the staff set about tidying up and avoided us rather than assist us with a shoe purchase. After 16 minutes and no sign of being helped, we left. Terrible service. I do not recommend.

I went there today 2/15/17 at 10 am. I dont normally do allot of reviews but this one was quite worth it! I was looking for a pair of running shoes to use on the track, at the gym and on dirt trails. They asked to help me and so they saw how my feet are when I walk and run and the type of shoe. Shoe wasnt that bad at all. Price was reasonable. After that I went to the gym and these shoes are amazing. I dont have aches and pains on my arch or ankles like I use to too after the first mile and a half. And there customer service was excellent.

Awesome experience here. I went to get shoes since I have really flat feet and the people who work there really take their time to see what your running style is what having you sprint on a strip of track in the store. The owner will get down so we can see ground level and assess how you run to ensure that they made the best selection of shoe for you. Just to give you an example, I went through about 4 or 5 shoes before finally finding the right pair for me and I have not been disappointed since. They dont even charge extra for the extra work they do. You just pay for the pair of shoes. Great establishment and I will definitely go back. Highly recommend.

Excellent customer service from A to Z.The first pair of shoes I purchased didnt feel quite right after a mile or two, they exchanged them at no cost even though id lost the box and receipt. They actually examined my gait and put me in a less expensive pair, then refunded the difference!Ill never buy running shoes anywhere else again.

Very knowledgeable and helpful employees; we tried out 3 different pairs of shoes before finding a pair good for me, with me taking a short jog with each pair to make sure they were both comfortable and proper for my pronation.

Staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly, they let me try on the shoes to run around in for a while to see if it was perfect for me. They even let me run out in front for a real feel of the sidewalk and stuff. I bought the shoes and never had a problem with them.

The staff was very helpful. The man helping me knew exactly how to analyze how shoes I tried on affected my feet. The selection is slim compared to chain stores, but I think that’s because Runners Roost only carries the best brands, and you can certainly find what you’re looking for if you’re looking for quality.

[ Note: ] If your shoes arrives late, trust me it is something outside of Gary & Lindas control, and something they actively work to prevent.Unfortunately some of the manufacturers for brands they carry are having distribution issues, read my update below for more information.Update:Had an issue with delivery of my On Swiss Running shoe that I ordered. A problem in the manufacturers ordering system made it appear as if the shoe was available to Gary & Linda, and then later that it was shipped when it was not.Linda had told me they were experiencing delays with this particular product so it could be two weeks, and gave me this info before I decided to special order it anyways.I waited a little over two weeks, and today found out the systems glitch was not reporting the reality that they were back ordered and my order was rejected.What happened next in my book was the most important.I requested a refund, there was no argument, no excuses, no upsale, simply an apology and a lets get you your money back. Gary contacted the ON brand rep, and the rep took a break from his paternity leave, away from his new son to make things right.Not only did I get my money back, I am getting a pair of the shoes I originally ordered for free.Very rarely will you find a person at every level in the supply chain willing to go above and beyond for your business, and from my experience this is the norm at Runners Roost not the rare exception.I am incredibly impressed, this is the experience every shoe store should strive for when things inevitably go wrong at some point. I had a great experience at Runners Roost! I run a lot for Army PT, and dont know much about feet, or running shoes. Linda worked with me, and we found a great pair of Brooks. She was a pleasure to work with, and was clearly more interested in finding the right pair of sneakers for me, rather than selling the most expensive or newest pair. I will be buying all of my sneakers here for the remainder of my time in Colorado Springs, and would recommend Runners Roost to anyone looking for new running shoes. It also turned out that my Brooks were on sale, so I got a great deal as well. At least 10-15 dollars cheaper than the lowest price I was able to find online for the same pair!

This place is awesome! They look at how you walk and to determine what you need it a shoe because everyone has a different pair of feet. We went in so that can check out what my husband needed in a shoe because he was getting really bad shin splints. The man there was very nice and super helpful. Went in wanting to invest in a good pair of running shoes, wasnt sure exactly what I needed. They asked me what I wanted in my running, picked out a few for me to try, asked me to run a short distance and they watched to see how the shoes affected my run. The pair I bought we both ended up agreeing on as the best choice. They are very knowledgeable, I learned things I never even considered or thought about, such as how high your heel is compared to your toes and what that means when you run. Great service, I will be buying shoes from here again in the future.

GREAT for anyone who has any chronic running related injuries. They had me run in my current shoes, identified my flat-footedness as a major contributor to my injuries that werent ever going away, then went back and picked out 5 different pairs of shoes, THEN had me run in each pair until the right shoe fit my foot for my running style. As a local high school coach I send all my runners down to the Roost to get fitted for the proper running shoes. Too often our new runners come to practice in ill-fitted shoes they purchased online. It doesnt take long for that kid to start complaining at practice that something (shins, foot, knees etc..) is starting to hurt. I direct them down to the Roost, they get fitted with the proper shoe and voila, the pain is gone!

Great staff. The owners are very friendly and go above their way to make sure you get the shoe you need/want. I will definitely be sticking around to this shop while Im in CO.
