We have had consistently good experience working with Rising Sun for maintenance for our car over the past few years. They have given reasonable estimates for when work has needed to be done. We have never felt that we were overcharged or asked to do unnecessary work. Most recently, they took every effort to ensure the work on our car was done quickly, which enabled us to travel when we had planned to (and with a much quieter, smoother running car!). Ive been going to this shop for a while now and I can genuinely recommend them. They are not going to be the cheapest option out there, but you can be sure the repair was done right. Ive never been upsold at Rising Sun and they are very clear about what repairs are and are not necessary. They also have great communication and keep you updated on the status of your vehicle.

I went to this place with a check engine light on and noise coming out of my engine bay. I asked for an appointment online and waited for about a week without an answer until I received a text message asking me to bring the car the next day to the shop. After they gave it a look, they called back to tell me that a sensor wiring next to the radiator was broken and it would cost $350, including diagnostics and fees. As for the noise, they were not sure and wanted to keep the car overnight. The next day, they called back and offered a list of possible fixes that summed to about $2500. As a side note, my car has a trade-in value of about $4000. I declined the extra services and picked my car up a few hours later. The very same evening, immediately after leaving the shop, I went directly to my workplace. A few hours later, I am going to the garage to leave to see a pretty big puddle of reddish fluid coming out of my car! I open the hood to see the coolant reservoir being almost empty! The next morning, I called them to report the issue and they responded that it is probably not related to the work done and you can drop off the vehicle but we might not be able to look at it until Wednesday (it was Friday afternoon!).Honestly, I know this might just be bad luck, but I dont appreciate the fact that they refused to give a quick 10-minute check to the work that they did the other day promptly. A true professional cant expect that a customer who paid a premium will be happy to drop off their car for a week, especially when other competing places are offering appointments early morning that Monday. For me, that place is a no. I dont see a reason to pay the dealership-level prices when you dont get a premium treatment. I would rather go to my car dealer for that cost.Pros:- They offer free rides.- Their online system for quotes is nice.Cons:- Their online system for appointment booking is horrible.- Prices are as high as it gets. Expect to pay dealership-level prices.- The service is not comparable to your dealership.- If anything is wrong with the work done, then good luck. Expect to be carless for a week.

They seemed friendly, but once they gave me their cost estimate for switching all the breaks I consulted elsewhere and immediately saved almost 1000 dollars (at Pughs Garage). They did not match/change their estimate, as I would have had the service here if they at least were in the same ballpark to avoid the hassle. Other than that I cannot say anything about their actual work, but it seems good based on my car diagnostics. They are just not competitive on price.

I have taken my car here about 4 times now for various reasons over the years and the service has been excellent. Very responsive and everything has been done on time. All repairs have been excellent and I have never had to take the car in for the same issue.

Punctured tire, I had used emergency tire repair kit with sealant. RS cleaned out sealant and patched tire, apparently maintaining the TPMS so I didnt have to put more money into it.Even checked to see if I had room for a spare under the repair kit layer in the trunk!

Friendly place. Convenient before/after hours drop off/ pickup system. We were given an estimate and decided to have work done. Cost came in a little under the estimate and work was done a little faster than promised. Costs seemed reasonable and did not feel pressured to do any extra work. Very satisfied and will definitely use them again next time.

A friend recommended that I go to Rising Sun because her family has been using them for years and I’ll definitely be using them from now on. Nick was very helpful and attentive over the phone and Jeff followed up with me to make sure things were running smoothly. I had a flat tire and needed two other tires replaced. The assessment and diagnostic results/suggested services were sent electronically so I could approve everything with one button. I could also pay online instead of having to go inside the shop - which was nice since we’re still dealing with the pandemic. Pickup was fast and easy - my car was right out front and the keys were in a locker outside. I’m grateful to the staff and like I said, I’ll be returning for other maintenance needs.

I used to shop around for the least expensive mechanic. I quickly learned that approach is way more expensive in the long run. Rising Sun mechanics know what theyre doing, theyre honest, and theyre helpful. Theyve suggested I go to the dealer for issues that turned out to be covered by warranty, theyve suggested putting other things off, and theyve told me when something really needs to be done. I trust them completely and wouldnt take my car anywhere else.

Ive been taking my 2016 Subaru Impreza Sport to Rising Sun since I bought it in 2015. Always they have been professional, reliable, and thorough. The most recent visit was for standard maintenance, where they checked fluids, brakes, air in all 5 tires, etc., performed a (synthetic) oil and filter change, and replaced the windshield wipers. The car runs more smoothly now and the wipers have worked better in both light and heavy rain than they have for a couple of years. Their report warns me that the brakes will need some work in the not-too-distant future. I was particularly pleased that they were willing and able to work around some medical treatment I needed and keep the car safe until we could pick it up the following weekend.About a year ago, I needed to have a couple of tires replaced. They purchased the tires, mounted and balanced them, aligned the 4 tires and recalibrated the steering angle sensor. At the beginning of this year, they replaced the battery with an Interstate 75-month battery, and then replaced that one for free two weeks later when the first one didnt hold charge. They do provide service where it is not needed and you do not have to worry about them fixing something that you did not request to be fixed. Part of that rareness is that they are personal. They kept my old Nissan running far after its expiration date. I came in one day w/out an appointment because my car was making odd noises and I had to drive to Philadelphia: everyone was out to lunch but the person there said hed take it for a ride. Nothing wrong and when I asked about payment he said, Oh, it was nice to get my hands dirty again - he was the owner. When I got in touch, including something about my father having died, the response was personal, sympathy and what they might do to help with the car. Theyve taken care of me and my drive for more than 20 years, recommended to me by people whod used then for five more - you dont stay with a shop for a quarter of a century unless theyre good.Obviously they do excellent work and Id recommend them for that alone. Theyre busy enough that you have to make appointments; if a part needs to be ordered they let you know, also let you know how long it will take once the part arrives. In all these years Ive never had a problem but have been told that if there is call back and theyll fix it. They have a lockbox so you can drop off your car the night before. They stay on top of the small things for you, a message when its time for an oil change. Broken windshield wipers? If they have them in stock come whenever and theyll fit you in.Too many lines already and I could keep going.

This is a really nice and friendly auto shop that gets the job done. I lived near here for years and saw they had a great number if customers, so i knew they were good, but recently came here for my Maryland inspection. They offered me advice on taking care of my vehicle and allowed me to see what they were doing. This is also one of the cleanest shops Ive ever seen, with a nice waiting area, wifi, and interesting decor. I will definitely be returning.

I just discovered Rising Sun Motors as I was driving by. I first spoke to Nick to ask opening questions. I decided to take my car here because he said that they would provide a ride back to my home while the work was being performed. Nick was very personable and knowledgeable. A real asset to your company. So far, I am satisfied with the work done. I cannot judge the quality yet. It has only been two days; I dont drive each day. I would not hesitate to use this company again. It is also convenient to my home, which is what I have been looking for.

I had the drain tubes cleared on my sunroof. I gave them only 4 stars at the moment because it hasnt rained yet for me to see that the linking has stopped. But the 4 stars is for seeing that my windows arent fogged any longer from the puddle of water that would be on the floor.

Excellent experience. Covid has made using many services different and often difficult. This was not the case with Rising Sun Motors. Drop off was easy, was texted when my vehicle was ready with the invoice, and pick up was as smooth as drop off. Highly recommend.

We took our car to Rising Sun at the suggestion of a neighbor. They were extremely professional and had a quick turn around for the services we needed. They communicated very well, and were very friendly throughout. I felt they were honest. Finally, when a sound we had repaired reappeared they took the car right back and found a different permanent situation immediately and for free. Will use them again and again!

Okay so im a college student and very inexperienced with cars. I came here for help and was squeezed in for a quick Oil change & Tire rotation. The receptionist did let me know the price of both- but only after i ask specifically asked for numbers. When the numbers sounded large I called my mom and she told me I was right. An Oil Change and Tire rotation should not cost almost $130. The receptionist did adjust my records once I told him my mother & I was uncomfortable with the price —-but that was only after I requested to leave without the Tire rotation. (I only got the oil changed) He was incredibly helpful with our questions but I will not be returning because the prices are just not accurate to most jobs requested.

Rising Sun solved an ongoing emissions leak problem my car has had for a long time and were thorough, communicative, and upfront about it throughout the process-- also tenacious! They fixed it, and I finally passed my emissions inspection. Great service.

Ive used Rising Sun Motors a few times in the past. I have been pleased each time! Late last week, I had an appointment for 8am. The morning of the appointment, my car was no longer drivable. When I explained the situation to Nick, he was extremely understanding and gave me the contact information for a quick, inexpensive towing company! When I arrived, Nick provided me with clear directions and was very kind. While my car was in the shop, his communication exceeded expectations. I never sat and wondered, or had to call for updates. He called me every step of the way, providing quotes and information both verbally and through email. The service finished early (I needed to get a spare part, and that came earlier than expected!) and I was able to pick my car up sooner than expected. I also ended up paying less than the originally quoted sum. I definitely plan to continue to use their services. *I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee for reference. I know some Jeep owners prefer to use a Jeep dealership, but the folks working at RSM know their stuff!

This week, I got an appointment for an oil and transmission fluid change at Rising Sun Motors. The service was stellar. Communication with the team was also good - Nick and Jeff. There was only one downside to my appointment. I had to wait for the car until the next day, which caused me inconvenience. It was not the first time that that happened. If it werent for the timing, this place would be perfect for any maintenance task or repair.

They are fast, efficient and friendly, what more could you ask for? Never had a problem with any of their work either.

They did good work on my brakes and in diagnosing/fixing my AC. They also had a fair price compared to the other quotes I got for the same brake work. My only complaint is that it took a long time for them to get to work on the car. But in all Im very satisfied with their work and would definitely recommend them.Also, they have a smart set-up for social distancing when you drop off or pick up your vehicle.

I was dissatisfied with the service and dishonestyHere is my storyMy wife and I took our car there for a MD state inspection.. when we dropped off the car everything workedshortly after we get a call that we failed the inspection due to the upper transmission mount being broken and a dead turning signal light bulb.The give us a quote for the repairs over the phone, so we decide to pick up the car and fix those issues when we get the money for it. Once we get to Rising sun, as soon as my wife enters the car and pushes the button to get the driver side windows down to let some air in, the window fall down inside the door frame.. we try to get it to slide back up it doesnt work.. we can hear a spinning sound inside when we try. since we are still on their parking lot we bring it up to the attention of one of rising sun employees in front of us.. he says the power windows motor is broken and hastily state that its not their fault because they didnt touch that part since Maryland state inspection doesnt cover it... I tell him the window wasnt that way when we dropped it off but am a reasonable guy, i know that coincidences happen so i leave their premises with a broken driver side power window.After calling around i found a mechanic that can fix the issues that caused us to fail the inspection in the first place at a much cheaper price than rising sun quoted us. so we take the car there. Turns out they also do MD state inspection there so i ask him if the driver side windows is part of the things that gets inspected and he says YES.Apparently the window must be operable to pass the inspection otherwise we will be failed...Intrigued i call around to shops that do only MD inspection and get the same answer that Yes the driver side window gets checked during the inspection and after going on rising sun website and looking for state inspection service details, i see this statement on it among other onesDoors — make sure all doors open and close from the inside and outWindows — driver’s side window needs to be operational, in the event that hand signals need to be usedSuffice it to say i didnt take my car back theI got the car repaired (including having to buy a new power window motor for the driver side and labor fees) and inspected again at the same mechanic shop i found to do the repairs. I passed after everything was checked again.That was my first and last experience with them.I understand some people have good experiences at rising sun since that made me take my car there in the first place but not me...

I was able to be serviced the next day after I called, which was great because I needed new brakes. I opted to wait for my car, and was very comfortable in the waiting area. I am really grateful and thankful that my vehicle was able to be fixed before the end of the same day. The bathroom is the cleanest Ive ever seen in an auto shop! Everyone was courteous and different staff looked in on my to make sure I was comfortable.

A+ experience even with pandemic precautions!I first contacted by email to ask for estimated price for 100k service on a 2008 Kia Spectra, new headlight lamp and new belts. Response was quick and informative and I dropped the car off Thursday night. Friday AM they called to confirm the work and price, and in the afternoon they called again for pickup. It was all very straight forward, the price was very good, and even with the no contact service it all went exactly as planned. As a technician in a different field this is exactly how I would do it. Would recommend 100% and will definitely be back. Wish they did motorcycles, too!

I have trusted mechanic friend, but they dont do state inspections; so I took it here. They found a leaking steering rack. And the price they quoted me to fix (according to my friend) was very fair. Had my friend take care of the actual repair work. But if I didnt, I would definitely feel comfortable taking my car here.They were very prompt in answering my questions and getting back to me.They also take the Covid19 very seriously, and have a method of dropping off and picking up that does not require any human interaction.

I needed a state vehicle inspection in order to register a used car I had bought. Despite COVID-19 obstacles, they were able to get my car inspected faster than I expected, and handle the entire transaction remotely. I have been a Rising Sun customer for over 40 years, and they have always been professional and customer-friendly.

I brought my car to Sunrise after reading tons of great reviews. I was purchasing a new car so I got the pre-purchase inspection and the state inspection to get the tags. They did everything within a couple of hours and were very kind and professional. I will definitely be using them in the future, if needed.

Thier assessment stated that I needed a new part that was going to cost me $2,000 (with labor), but when I went to another shop they said that part was not broken and did not need to be replaced. I do not trust this shop.

Took 2004 Honda in for air conditioning repair and help identifying a mysterious rattle. Bandit and the Team were able to explain to me (in laymans terms that I could actually understand) what some of the issues could be. I really appreciate a shop that made sure I was going in with eyes wide open about the possible work and the possible price. PS: AC works! I havent heard that rattle since they fixed it!

Okay work but bad billing practices. The cost of parts and labor for my oil change came to well under the 80 dollars the charged. I asked the clerk about it, they explained that they basically pad the bill with a 20 dollar negative discount to charge for oil that they might have needed to, but did not, put in my car. Kinda shady.

I have been very pleased with Rising Sun for years now in terms of service, trust, and pricing. My experience yesterday didn’t start well, however. I brought my car in for new brake pads because they had told me months ago it was needed. Their first phone call yesterday was to dismiss the need for new pads. Instead, they offered other suggestions that were very expensive and possibly unnecessary. It was an uncharacteristic phone call from them. Their second call an hour later was much better and basically back to business as usual. They admitted they had made a mistake initially yesterday morning, and that I did need them after all. They focused on them and cancelled the expensive service. By the end of the day, the service I hoped for was done and in a timely and rather efficient way. Any concerns I had about RS (really for the first time ever) have been appeased. Great shop!

I am not a regular customer and searched on Google reviews for a reliable shop for an oil change. Rising Sun had excellent reviews. They were able to fit me in and complete the service faster than expected. Very happy customer here. I will be using them again!
