I am posting in regards to the propane filling station. I have used them for this several times, and while random times can be nice and efficient. Other times are not. I have sat there waiting for over 30 minutes for someone to even acknowledge that I am there. This is unfortunately the norm for this place. They do not appear to operate in a first come first serve basis, but who they feel deserves their attention.
Always return your rental truck in person. I made the mistake of dropping it off after hours. I filled the gas tank to FULL. My email receipt said I returned it 3/4. They charged my card $24.75 for fuel. What a shame.
Stay away from this location. I frequently use Uhauls. When I dropped off the truck, my barcode was not scanning since everything is mostly digital now. I asked the lady at the location working and she shared to drop the keys in the lockbox and they will contact me. The gas tank was filled and the truck was left in the same condition as I picked it up. I did receive a call from the Sunset location and explained what happened. I was told I will need to bring the truck back or they’ll charge me a $80 fee. I shared that I do not have access to the keys obviously as I listened to the attendant at the drop off location. I used the truck for no more than 3 hours and was charged $54.20 which was accurate. Later I found out they charged me an additional $150.17. Be careful because their contract states you are responsible for any fees charged, even if they are not justified.
Absolute nightmare of a place. If you’re renting a truck maybe you will have a decent enough experience but if you go for a hitch forget about it. Uhaul should be ashamed to be associated with anyone at this location.
Atay far far away from this location the absolute worst place. By all means drive a few extra miles and pick a diff location
Terrible experience!! I ordered a hitch install online and booked the appointment. My wife and I showed up for the appointment and they informed us that they had moved our appointment to the next day. Really? No communication at all. They did not even seemed concerned. No apology. I asked them to please call us and let us know if they received the hitch that day as they had now scheduled us for the next morning. End of day, no phone call. I called in to see if we were good to go. Nope. hitch still not in. No phone call. Worst was that they guy on the phone acted put out as if I was bothering him to check and see if the hitch was in. Nope, still not. We had paid in advance online. Still no apology for lack of communication. Never will go back. I just hope that I do not have to fight them to get my refund.
We used this facility to rent storage units. Tammy was great and always so helpful.
Terrible, in every area. Left me in a dark parking lot from 8 - 10:30pm. Then street I went over my 24 hours by one hour, in the middle of the night mind you, they do graciously gave me a free day rental. How generous right? Except they didnt, they charged me for the whole thing, plus a $10 charge for some furniture pads i never used. When I called i got offered $15 on my next move. So great...5 years from now I can look forward to a $15 discount. I feel so much better about the fact that I was still moving until 3am because of their just plain silliness. Never use Uhaul again, so you dont need to worry about the $15
I rented a van for approximately an hour to which I only used 45 mins of and paid for miles to which I only went over by a few blocks. I was charged for 41 miles!!! When I called the location I spoke to an associate (female) then a manager by the name of Vito Pociorek who was overtly unprofessional and only kept stating that I I shouldve taken a picture of the mileage upon entering the van (to which he never stated upon initial rental of the van). When asked for a higher manager to speak to to get my situation resolved and get a refund he was extremely rude and hung up on me. If this is what Uhual considers exceptional customer service then I will definitely never use this company ever again.
Heather and Uriel assisted me. The customer service was great and the vehicle was super clean. I even got to see a ninja when I brought the truck back.
Service from Josh was just plain bad. He may need some training on CS Skills and how to speak to people. He sounded tired, and somewhat not coherent. I called about a possible price match and spoke with Bruce first, very pleasant person. After being placed on hold a couple time due to them being busy and closing at 6:30pm per the rep. (I called about 6:20pm - Google shows closed at 7PM). Josh picked up the line asking what I needed with no context and when I became confused as to why I had someone new on the line, he had nothing to say other than, I -said-Im-just-trying-to-help-you-sir..... This was a complete waste of my time and I cancelled my reservation due to the service alone. I wouldve paid the 10 or so extra for their smaller truck for brand loyalty.. not anymore. Be warned to all who may encounter this individual in the future. I encourage this location to seek out a more professional employee in this instance.

I purchased a trailer hitch kit for my Kia Soreno 2 days ago, but wasnt having it installed by uhaul. The employee was carrying the hitch to my car and said it was heavy so he would put it in the car. I took it out of my trunk to have it installed & there is a huge dent in it and a scuff mark. I called the store and was told theres nothing they can do after it leaves, and they dont have another hitch for my car in stock, but I can speak to a manager on Monday when they come in. I have an appointment to rent a trailer from them on Monday so I will be speaking to a manager then. There is no way that I personally could have made this dent or the plastic in the trunk of my car could have. I leave to move across the country on Monday and Im BEYOND frustrated at this point.
Turned in 18 hrs early with six total miles charged $14 for gas. Should have stopped to add a gallon. No budging.. they get audited.
We pulled in to this location to return our equipment.. which was a small pull along trailer. It CLEARLY states when you pull in to Return your equipment here... which is great IF there wasnt a truck and a camper and a suv parked right behind the truck and camper, they were together. We waited and waited and finally I decided to go in and tell someone which was a younger kid behind the desk, that we needed to return our equipment, but the truck/ camper were where we needed to return it. This is the response I received from the young kid behind the counter, He laughs and proceeds to say ok? Youll just have to waitFIRST ALL you do NOT laugh in a costumers face when they are trying to do the CORRECT thing by returning the EQUIPMENT in the proper area as it states to do so. THAT AREA IS NOT MEANT FOR A TRUCK AND A CAMPER AND AN SUV to hang out in that area, while hanging out inside with the guy at the counter, while CUSTOMERS are trying to do the proper return! This TRULY ticked me off to be laughed at and told to wait when in all rights, he shouldve told his company that was hanging out in the store to kindly move so that we as the CUSTOMER could return our equipment. 5 mins later another guy came out and took care of us properly. Let me just say this, Ive been in retail for 30 years and you do NOT laugh in a customers face, shrug them off and tell them while still giggling that they have to wait! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and you need to talk to him. Bowl kind of cut, blondish hair, young. That was RUDE of him 100%

This is the second time I have rented a vehicle tow dolly from the Clearwater U-Haul in two years. The first time was May 2014 and then again yesterday 3/17/2016. As I arrived at the store there was a customer who just pulled in and was returning a trailer and there was a another customer who was buying some boxes inside the store. At that point in time I thought it may take a while but to my surprise I was very pleased with how quickly they expedited everything and had me out of there with all the paperwork signed and the trailer hooked up in under 20 minutes. The young lady inside the store was very friendly and knows her job well. The gentleman out back was also very friendly and had the trailer hooked up quickly and properly and had me on my way. Overall I was very pleased with level of service I received.
Called the office and was able to reserve and pick up a van in 30 minutes. Quick and easy process. Van only had 1500 miles on it with all the bells and whistles. Drop off was even easier - checked out right in the driveway. Would definitely use again.
Great rental trucks available! I received a new 2016 for a 1000 mile trip, it did great maintenance wise & on gas! Plus they now offer free roadside assistance with your rentals!
Joshua who works there should receive an award for the rudest associate EVER!Rene who also works there will be rude if youare unfortunate to show up for business 1/2Hour before closing. Manager seems to bePolite but will not step in and stop Rene andJoshua when they are being rude and argue with the customer. I am a business ownerand would not have rude people like these working in my business no matter how muchI needed them.

Reserved a truck online 4 days in advance for 7am on a Saturday. At 6:40 they called to tell me that they did not have the truck I reserved. After speaking with them the employee at this store said they would not honor the guarantee because it was my fault I reserved a truck they did not have. They did offer me a truck that would not do what I needed at another store, but I would have to pay the extra mileage. I spoke to a regional representative who stated that the guarantee was not valid because an online reservation does not count. I have to actually speak to the store to actually schedule the rental. What purpose does an online reservation system serve if not to make a reservation? The store employee was dismissive and told me he did not have time to argue with me. He also said I should not have reserved a rental online if I wanted the truck on time.
Old fashioned service with a smile eveneven though the reservation Department misquoted me on a trailer hitch the owner his team made things right... Allowed me and my father to go out fishing for Fathers Day thank you so much what great service..
Had a good experience with these folks. Over the last few years I have used them for quite a few random things. They installed the hitch on my Toyota Avalon for my bike rack. Solid as a rock. Recently I rented a trailer for a work-related project. When I got there and found out I needed a light kit and they couldnt rent the trailer without a light kit on my car, they refunded the full amount no questions asked. Good customer service.

This is a quality U-Haul to invest your time and money. Had some issues at another location and luckily was sent here for service. The GM Roger took care of me with a smile as this was an inconvenience and unplanned. Thanks again.

Waited a little over 10 minutes out by the propane refill station, following the posted instructions and was ignored by employees. I went inside to see if I could get someone to help, but the employees didn’t even acknowledge me. Waste of time.

It’s been some time since I have complained about service. However today josh made me feel like I was a . Unbelievable the way this gentleman speaks to customers. I hope he was just having a bad day which we all do from time to time.
My family has rented moving trucks, purchased storage supplies, and had trailer hitches installed at this location over the years, and have always had great service. Ive got to tow an antique auto to Atlanta soon, and wouldnt consider going anywhere else to rent a tow trailer, unless they tell me they dont have what I need
Was looking for propane all over the place and decided to check out this place. The guy said I was lucky as they just received shipment of propane. He also gave me a little education about propane tanks expering up to code by gov standards which I did not know. Thanks for the refill and education!
Paid when I picked up the truck At 8am told by the General manager (who rented the truck to me) to return at 8am following day and they don’t even open till 9am. When I tried to do the drop off through the website it wanted me to pay a second time. Had to wait around an hour for someone to open the door
Worst customer service around never cared but I attempted to pay my bill multiple times over the phone every month it is late(I dont care just would save them emails if they answered their phones and any other things they have to do because they cant answer phones to take a payment! Lucky no issue to me but I can only imagine others issues) Im out of town a lot so I cant go into the store every time I call Im told to hold I wait on hold at a minimum for 5 minutes and either the phone disconnects or someone else answers and the wait starts over again I typically hang up and attempt to try again a different date but other times my call just disconnects from their end. Same thing happened today (I had a question as Im switching facilities due to everything and their awful customer service) same thing was on hold for 11 minutes lost the call as I was driving and kept calling back to be placed on hold and to be hung up on. We get everything out this Friday thankfully!
I wish I could give this location a negative 5 star rating. This location closes at 7:00 PM on Saturdays. I made a reservation for a truck this past Saturday, October 21, 2017. I took an Uber to this location. I was dropped off only about 10 feet from the front doors. The driver knew I needed to arrive before 7:00 PM and ensured that I did. In fact, I arrived at 6:50 PM. All lights were on and two Uhaul associates were inside; both standing behind the front counter. I tried opening the front entrance doors but they were locked. The front entrance was composed of clear glass doors. I could clearly see the sales associates. They could clearly see me. I knocked on the doors to get their attention. A black male who appeared to be in his early to mid twenties mouthed the words, were closed. I pointed to my watch to indicate it wasnt seven. I tried mouthing the words back that I had a truck to pick up. Both sales associates, the other a white male, also around the same age, attempted to ignore me. Picture this circumstance for a moment: Ive reserved a truck, paid for an Uber ride to this location, arrived before they closed, and now Ive two sales associates that have decided to close early on the weekend pretend like Im not in plain view, standing directly in front of their store. In further support of the fact they werent closed, the black male had to come out and take a reading from their propane tank. Which makes sense, they hadnt completely shut down yet. Now Im only a few feet from the guy. I asked if he was really going to just ignore me? Was he seriously not going to do something so simple as provide me with the keys to the truck I reserved? Apparently, that is exactly what he intended to do. In the most rude, and anti- social manner possible, he did his best to pretend I wasnt standing right next to him. I dont expect U-Haul to hire people with the strongest interpersonal skills. However, the experience I had wasnt so much about the strength of ones ability to communicate verbally. It was about common human decency. I thought about the experience and thanked God it happened to me and not someone else. What if this guy acted that way to someone who was stressed from moving, had insecurities, or was otherwise more sensitive to such unjustified behavior? Sure, I was upset. Very much so. However, Ill go on with my life. My concern is whether hell do this to someone else. I dont think its something inherently bad about this employee as much as it is a lack of understanding as to basic etiquette. What could have made things better was if he made even a scintilla of effort to explain his behavior. Because Id taken an Uber there, I now had to take an Uber to another location, and start the truck rental process all over again. I have never experienced such directly rude and all together horrible customer service in my entire life.

It was 40 minutes till closing my patents walked in after me and he didnt know they were with me so he began to complain about how i hate how these stupid people decide to show up at the last minute as a manager in retain i would honestly write him up on a final

Made an appointment over the phone, showed up and they had no idea I had an appointment and said there wasnt anyone working today who could install a hitch on my car. They blamed it on the call center and said they often make appointments without notifying the store. Seems like its a reoccurring issue for them. Called the call center to let them know about the issue and they didnt do anything about it. Im going somewhere else.
