Today around 1pm I went into Peltz. I saw 2 employees chatting with one another, and another 3 employees chatting with one another. No one asked me if I needed help. The last 2 times the same thing. Then I see them approaching other people asking them if they need help. I guess if you’re not a size 4 they don’t want to know you. One woman who looked similar in size to me finally asked me if I wanted help. Too little too late. I worked in Customer Service for over 25 years. I give Peltz a zero. Strike three you’re out. I’ll take my business where it’s appreciated.

Oct 20, 2021 I placed a phone call to Peltz Shoes at Clearwater Mall in Clearwater, FL and a Sales Clerk named Michael answered, we spoke for at least 5-7minutes before I made the trip over to his store. I wanted to make sure they still handled “Onyx” brand ladies shoes and stocked size 5; as none of the shoe stores in the large malls or smaller department stores stock size 5 any longer. Michael was very helpful and informative letting me know of additional brands they also stocked and definitely carried size 5 ladies shoes. Speaking with Michael was a pleasure, very polite and most knowledgeable about their enormous popular brands of stock; men, women’s and children’s shoes as well.Very impressed with this young man- He helped several customers at one time, never becoming agitated or confused about each customer’s questions & needs. Michael collected my selection of shoes to keep at the checkout counter; while I continued shopping, he kindly “freshened up the leather” that had become slightly soiled from prior shoppers admiring their quality. He gave those shoes an “extra touch of love” ♥️ compelling me to purchase the leather cleaner he had used on my new shoes!!Peltz Shoes has a “gem” of a salesman in Michael!! I recently was in your Clearwater store and was just browsing. I wasn’t really looking for anything specific but Lexi made sure I found something. She was extremely personable and engaging. I mentioned that I worked retail and was always in the hunt for a good pair of shoes. She took time to show me some different brands and share her insight on them. Needless to say, I left with a pair of shoes. What a great ambassador for your store!

Excellent selection of shoes and a wonderful staff. I spent two hours there trying on many pair of shoes. I left with three pair including athletic shoes. Im a difficult size to fit so I am especially thrilled today with my purchases.

I posted a review about a problem I had with a pair of sandals. I would like happily to report that the store manager, Jennifer, contacted me today about the sandals. We made arrangements for me to get another pair. I was also offered an exchange or refund, but preferred an exchange. This is the way to treat a customer. So, a big thank you to Jennifet and Peltz shoes for the help.

Very helpful staff, but extremely expensive. They did have a great selection but, for the price of one pair of sneakers, I picked up two at Skechers.

We picked out a shoe and the manager asked us if we were there to get shoes for this program and we said yes. He took additional time with us to ensure we got exactly what we needed, even though we didnt know we needed it!I would give an additional star if I could.

I went in to buy a new pair of nursing shoes. Tatiana was awesome! She lead me to try on a couple of pairs and we realized my feet were far too narrow for them. She grabbed another pair for me and they are perfect! I was in and out in less than 15 minutes with the perfect pair of shoes. Loved the customer service!

We always go here for shoes. The prices are the same as online but with the benefit of knowledgable sales people. I have to have shoes to prevent plantar fasciitis.Go one time and you wont regret it. I always go straight to the register desk and ask for the salesperson who knows about plantar fasciitis.We are never disappointed here!

Not very helpful at all. Then was told I was waisting my time buying what I had in my hand because memory foam will be terrible in 3 months. I told him I had swelling throughout the day, past surgery for plantars fascitiatis. I need business casual, he took me to a sandal, then a very flat ballet looking shoe. Sandals cannot be worn and you cannot wear a flat shoe with my foot issues. I told him I needed something sturdy, firm around my heel. The podiatrists said if u can bend the shoe its no good. He just walked away after telling me what I had was not a good choice. Needless to say I left, went elsewhere and purchased 4 pair of shoes that fit perfectly. First and last time at Peltz.

This is probably my 5th visit to and purchase from this store. I work in the car business, so I am on my feet a LOT. This makes a nice, professional looking comfortable shoe very important. One of the things I really like about this store is the staff is always friendly and very helpful. I usually buy Clarke Tilden Cap shoes as theyre super comfortable and last a long time for someone who is hard on shoes. Today, I visited to buy another pair (they always have them) and Ken came over to assist me. When I mentioned what I do and how much I like the Clarkes, he looked at my feet and walked over and picked up a Florsheim box containing Midtown Cap shoes and brought them to me. He suggested I try these this time, and explained how the rubber soles will last much longer and provide better traction. I put them on and was impressed with the feel and comfort. Thanks to Ken, I bought a pair. Did I spend more than I planned? Yes. Time will tell how I like them, but so far Im impressed. As with cars and other things, Ill gladly pay more for a better product and spectacular service, and I always get both at Peltz. Thanks, Ken!

The store was clean, the employees was polite and very helpful, and able to find shoes while staying in my budget.

Just leave me alone already! To many people asking if you want assistance! Just a personal preference though. Know others eat it up.

I walked in and saw four employees at the front counter. Not one greeted me or asked if I needed help. I guess it was because I work from home and wore shorts an old t-shirt. Too bad since I was ready to purchase several pairs of shoes for my vacation.

Its very hard to find the ten shoe I like and the same one I been buying for the past 3 years its not like they are cheap or anything !!!!!!

I always can find beautiful shoes here. Huge selection..all I can say is u get what u pay for. All shoes well made & comfortable. I always end up walking out with two pair. Salespeople R helpful. If I just want to look by myself I tell them. They just keep in touch occasionally to assist. My first place to look at shoes.

The last few times Ive visited here have left a bad taste in my mouth. Once, in the height of Covid19, I called to see if they were open and was told yes. So I hopped in an Uber and made my way over there only to be denied entrance as I was recently on a plane. Think they would have told me that when I called. 😑 The other time they asked me to leave my back backpack up front. Made me feel unhonorable. (What, did I look like a thief???) Anyway, I left on my own that time. Will probably not shop there again.Update: May 26, 20213.5 StarsThought Id give them another chance as they do have such an awesome selection of shoes in my big foot size 11! Nicer experience when a went back there last month, AND I found some shoes I liked that were flattering to my large feet at a great price! Their employees just need customer service training, imo.

After spending a considerable amount of money here, I was unhappy with one of my purchases. I was told that that particular shoe with stretch. When I tried to return the shoes I was told they could not take them back due to COVID-19, and while I understand that companies are facing challenges during this time I wanted to be known that individuals are also. I have been unemployed since March and decided that investing in shoes would be worth it to help with my back problems. But if the company won’t even allow me to get the right fit it’s a waste of what little money I have left. I’ve been a customer of Peltz for years and I’m disappointed in the humanity of the manager I spoke to during today’s visit

Sad most all good shops have gone the shone man is no longer there. Sad day, still got lots of places to go to and see and have good deals on items.

Everyone had masks on. Was not helped by anyone. Ive been in other Pelts stores and very friendly employees. Not this one. I guess thats why they were not very busy.

Great selection of high quality shoes.

Shopped here a week ago and received excellent customer care. I was looking for a pair of slip resistant shoes that were comfortable for me at work. I wore these shoes for 2 hours and they were too tight and hurt my feet. I tried to return them and wasnt asked any questions. A lady approached me picked up the shoes and just walked a way with them. I stood there in shock wondering what was going on. She came back holding the shoes and said they are not in resellable condition and that I needed to wear them around the house. I went there wanting to pick out a different shoe and wasnt even offered any customer service. Will never return.

There are not that much variety today. I found it hard to find the brands I was looking for.

Today was my first visit to a Peltz store after lots of driving around this weekend. The selection was great and the service was even better. This is a great location for a decent selection of mens Vionic shoes. Tammy was an absolute savior guiding me to the right options and alternatives. She also made sure I had the right fit I needed. If it wasnt for her I would have walked out with the wrong size shoes. I appreciated her help so much, it made for a happy ending to an otherwise terrible weekend searching for the right shoe. I wear size AA or AAA, so I dont bother to look anywhere else. They have a wonderful selection. They let you look as long as you please and help you when you want help. Their purses are gorgeous. I recently bought a AAA that pinched one foot. Their bunion stretcher solved the problem. Who knew that was an option? I used to think Imelda Marcos was crazy to have 3000 pairs of shoes......Do you think she knew about Peltz?

Went in looking for work shoes, after shopping at Skechers and another near by shoe store. Could not find a pair. Peltz had exactly what I needed. Thank you for all you do!

I used to love Peltz but its been 2-3 years since I liked the selection and the customer service. Tonight after an attentive sales experience, was treated rudely by Alexandra so much so that the sales team got the manager, who with one scan answered my question. When the sales team gets the manager before the customer even has a chance to say a word, you know it was rotten customer service.

We live on the east coast of FL and it is definitely worth the drive to the west coast for a large selection of wide widths in larger sizes.

Ive been searching for sneakers for my Ronald McDonald feet-size 15w. Went to family shoe store and they informed me due to covid pandemic they are limited to shoes my size. Just a lame excuse. But here at peltz, no excuses. The sales team treated me like family. First time I ever shopped there. Awesome!! You want respect and professional sales staff, go here at Peltz Shoes.. Thank you. Joe was a huge help to us. My friend was in need of a dressier tennis shoe in a wide width and I wanted to buy him a pair as his birthday gift.Joe was attentive and knowledgeable.We highly recommend shopping here!Lesson learned: we went to the Sketcher store nearby and the wide widths are not stocked as their signs advertise. The man who tried to help us from the Sketcher Store didnt even look for the needed shoe size as he walked up and down each aisle aimlessly.In disgust and with no purchase, we left.We went directly to Peltz Shoes and found the exact Sketcher shoe he desired in the wide width and size. Yes, he would have preferred a different color but he is thrilled! So am I.Thanks, Joe!

They have a great selection and every associate is super friendly. Been there twice and everyone is always helpful and nice. Prices are on the higher side but you pay for impeccable service.

Great people and great store. Found the shoes which helped with my marathon, I used to have problems all the time with ankle pain and the shoes these guys helped me find really helped, no pain at all. You just have to ask them to help finding neutral shoes for you.

Buyer BEWARE! I like shopping the better stores for quality and customer service, never before today have I been upset to the point of raising my voice in one of these overpriced stores! I have over the years purchased a lot of shoes from this store for my entire family. My only wish is that I would have needed to return something sooner than today so I would have known how uncaring the manager is on circumstances beyond the customer control. A pair of shoes I ordered (since my size was not in store) for $167.00 got lost in the mail. When I called customer service they said… 1. They were refused by customer (not true) 2. They would need 6 weeks (3 weeks after the event I purchased them for) to track them down. Well, today after 6 weeks of waiting they arrived…YAY! NO, I don’t need them now. I went straight to the store to return them TODAY, and no, doesn’t matter that the price of the shoes has not changed, I have the original receipt, original condition, original tags, never worn, never even opened the box. Its is now over the 30 day return policy and too bad NO exceptions.

I went shopping for Florida work boots or hiking boots with & for my teenage son. We went to Famous Footwear & Burlington Coat Factory first, looking for quality at a bargain but pickings were slim. We went to Peltz & found exactly what we were looking for in a Timberland work boot; top quality at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this store to others. The selection of shoes for men and women is vast. Expect to pay for the premium quality of their shoes; its well worth it. You get what you pay for.

Took my 86 year old mother and my 22 year old niece here to do some shoe shopping today. Richard assisted us and helped us find the right sizes that really fit. My mom ended up with 4 pairs of shoes and she is difficult to fit with a narrow foot. My niece ended up with two pair and I ended up with a pair as well. Considering my niece and I really were not looking for shoes. I think we did well.I wear a size 11 and have lots of foot issues. I really appreciated the time Richard spent helping all of us. About half of the 7 pairs we bought were on sale as well.This has always been my go-to place for shoes and it will continue to be.

Ive always had a great experience at both the st Pete and the Clearwater locations. They alway greet you at the door and the sales crew are always attentive and knowledgeable of all of their products.

I am a single parent on a budge and have a teen with wide flat feet. I almost didnt shop here do to past reviews.Thank God I stopped in. Bad Expierance with the general Manager. after many years of buying shoes every year from this store, I had a issue with my latest purchase. the right shoe gave me a very bad blister on the big toe. Manager would do NOTHING because we didnt have the original Box. We will take our bussiness elswhere from now On. We are all done spending $250.00 avery year at this store.I must now in all fairness change the above statement. The District Manager handled my complaint very professionally. I therefore have changed to a Five star rating

I stopped in this past Sunday (2-4-18) to look for a walking/workout shoe. Pamela, the sales associate who helped me, was not only friendly, professional, but was genuinely concerned about finding the right shoe for me. Her positive energy made it a treatto work with her and she found a great shoe for me at a great price. Thank you Peltz and Pamela!!

I have bought shoes here in the past they have always hurt my feet. I have taken them back before and they would not refund me, they so called stretched them. These shoes are in my closet and have been worn mabey twice. I should have known not to go back, but I did. I thought I could not go wrong with running shoes. I found some new balance that I liked. They were $80.00 I did not look in the box because I know what size fits me in these shoes. I have been wearing the same brand for years. Went to cash register had to wait at least 15 minutes to check out, due to the rude cashiers taking other customers that came after me first. Got home opened them and noticed that they had been worn before and returned. They looked a little worn for sure. I took them back the next day.. The manger gave me a ugly look. Also on the inside of the box, some had wrote returned 11/28/16. I can not believe someone had worn them and they for sure looked like it. Peltz put them back on the shelf and charged full price for them. Later that day I found the same shoe at another store for $44.95. This store is over priced and the people there do not appreciate your business and are rude. Never ever will I shop at this store again

My name is Betty and I have been shopping with Peltz for over twenty years. I only have ever gone to the saint Pete store and decided to visit the one in Clearwater the other evening. I was greeted nicely by the cashiers and tami was so excited to help me. We were looking at the tennis shoes and she persistently asked me if I knew what I wanted, and I appreciated that as it is what I know Pelts for. I said I needed a few minutes and that I would let her know if I needed her. She decided to ignore what I had said and decided to ask again only with a sturn hard voice unlike the one she started with. Once I decided I might have liked one pair of sneaks I let her know I might get them and she took the box from me without asking. I could hear her aggressively put the box down somewhere. This upset me but I was in dire need of some new walking shoes so I purchased the ones I wasnt sure about just to get away from tami.

The creepy sales people are extremely pushy, won’t leave you alone to browse. My wife turned around and a sales guy was literally 1 foot away from her face. They hover over you. They must work on commission or something. They also don’t have any kids shoes. We ended up walking out frustrated that we weren’t being left alone.

Finally found a good pair of work shoes.

I ordered on line from them twice. The first time, the shoes didnt fit right, and they took them back and refunded my account without question. The second time, the shoes fit perfectly, are first quality, and the lowest price I have ever seen for Clarks. They also arrived so quickly, and I didnt even pay shipping. I just wish the store were closer so I could shop there all the time.

Great customer service!! Had a bad shoelace on one of the new shoes and they immediately replaced it. The young employee almost asked if it was the left or right one. Think about it.......we had a laugh! Will definitely be back.

I was with my other half who is African American. They followed us to each area we looked at shoes stalking us as if we needed to be watched. I was appalled as I have never experienced such targated behavior. We confronted the staff and the management said they had a job to do. The manager made no apology for her staff and the behavior. Sincerely appalling this happens. I am a caucasian Male and in my life never had this happen to me. I was nauseated it was happening and found it hard to believe at first. Was it because we are gay or because he is African American. We left immediately and bought 3 pairs of shoes at famous foot wear. They had the exact brand and cheaper. I will never shop here again or at other peltz store. Sad we live in this age where discriminatory behaviors are acceptable.

Was there today to shop for shoes with my 11 year old. Wanted to put 2 pairs of Nike shoes for her on hold until tomorrow morning because there was only one pair in her size so I could take advantage of tax free Friday. Tom the manager was unwilling to hold them. Business must be good because this manager has no customer service skills.

Internet order, purchase was a gift, too small, need to exchange, was told to watch their website for arrival of correct size, store still does not have them in stock, now Im told too bad, its been too long to return them. WTH!!

“No customer service!!! Dont shop here! Youve been warned!!I have odd-size feet so Im always on the lookout for places that I can buy New Balance shoes since they are the only company that makes athletic shoes to width. Peltz had a pair on New Balance walkers that I purchased in February of this year.I was initially very happy with the shoes, as I have been a loyal New Balance customer for many years. It was winter when I ordered the shoes, so even though several months had passed, the shoes had only been worn a handful of times when they started to come apart. I immediately contacted customer service and alerted them to the problem. They apologized for the defect and asked for me to send photos of the shoes, after which they asked me to call customer service directly. They explained that because of the age of the order they could not send me a shipping label and I would have to pay the cost of returning the shoes. Once they received the defective shoes, they said they would replace them or issue me a credit if they were no longer available.I promptly returned the shoes via USPS but did not hear anything back from Peltz Shoes, no replacement shoes, no refund, no phone call or email. After a month had gone by I contacted Peltz again. They confirmed that they had received the shoes, but because the order was more than 90-days-old there was nothing they could do. Since the order was more than 90-days-old at the time I contacted them about the defect, I asked why they would have me send the shoes back if they had no intention of replacing them due to the age of the order? They apologized and said that they didnt realize the age of the order when they told me to send them back for replacement, but they would be happy to return them to me, but I would again have to pay the shipping. Thats so rich! Not only do I not have a replacement set of shoes or a refund, but they want my credit card information so they can charge me to send the defective shoes back to me. What wonderful customer service!! I guess they thought better of it because they eventually sent the shoes back to me.I contacted New Balance directly and they gave me a full credit for the shoes. I am still a loyal New Balance customer but I would never do business with Peltz again. Consider yourself warned and use this merchant at your own risk! I should have stuck with Zappos or Joes New Balance! Not only will I never use this merchant and urge everyone I come in contact with to do the same, but I will urge all my friends in the Tampa area to avoid their retail stores as well!”

I have visited this store a couple of times already and for me the level of professionalism here is so high Im giving them five out of five stars.

DO NOT order from this place online! The customer service is the WORST! They are living in the 1990s. They also refused to accomodate my hearing disability to aid me in ordering. They didnt respond to repeated emails, which makes me wonder what a return would be like!

I usually research a store prior to shopping for something I will get a ton of use. In this case I didnt. A shoe is a shoe..... right? The customer service is scarce, the staff has no knowledge of their product. Granted, its not really theirs, but they should have some knowledge. If Im paying for an extreme markup I would expect service to match! Not going to shop here again.
