I have been collecting comics and 50s paperbacks for years. This store reminds me of the stores of my youth that are mostly gone by now. I am 53. I found some good first editions (including Jim Thompson, bukowski and Kerouac) . Support your local business’ and quit being so picky.

Store is cool! The owners pretty knowledgeable and fair with prices. Got to buy a couple of records and they have a pretty great decor selection that all seem to be in good shape! If your looking for an adventure check this shop out!

This place is a diamond in the rough! Lots of unique items from the past and a hoard of books. They also offer books for sale online. Many books are in protection, covered in plastic. Its a tight squeeze but many hidden gems can be found!

While the owners offer to help and answer questions they have no real inventory of what they have and no way to navigate the overcrowded shop. I have gone there a few times now and each time hoping to get some gems which they have but usually want more than competive used book prices and I know I can usually pay about half of what they want elsewhere. I would love to really browse their obviously full collection but seems too dusty and overpriced to be worth the effort. Could be a great collection of stuff if spaced out and more competitive pricing.

This shop is a great little place. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about their stock, especially music. The shop is a bit messy which could turn away some customers but the beauty of Blue Moon is in the unexpected treasures hiding in the shelves. Take a look around and open yourself up to some adventure in a charming small-town shop. Cash, check and Paypal accepted when I visited.

I would not bother wasting time driving here. Incredibly crammed and hoarded with so many items that its very difficult to easily locate anything. Owner also lied to me over the phone when I called in advance to ask if they have a lot of horror books - Apparently a tiny shelf full of only King and Koontz books is a lot. Avoid.

Just went in to look at the place as a possibility to do a music video shoot for my wifes band. There was a lady working there who was very nice and helpful. The man who owns the store came by and started talking to my wife, challenging her as to whether she really reads or not. Then started asking about our religion and proceeded to tell us how bad it was and how he didnt want to be associated with it. Somehow he thought that her band was secretly connected to our church. Then after telling us how he really felt, he encouraged us to come back and buy some books and that even though he thinks our religion is gibberish, that he actually has a lot of customers from our church and wouldnt turn down the money. Needless to say we did not purchase anything from him and I am actually shocked that he thinks this type of behavior would ever be acceptable.

Cool, I bought older paperbacks, some 45s a shadow box and a Rock Island Auction Company book. Theyve done some straightening out and access is better.

What a gem of a place! Books line shelves from floor to ceiling and Credence Clearwater Revival played as I rummaged through titles from all over the world by lamp light instead of over head fluorescents! I left with 6 books including a book Id been hunting for online for months to no avail! I see a lot of people noting that there wasnt enough organization or space and sure its a tight squeeze down some isles but I think this is what all great bookshops are like! Half of the romance is the clutter and the hunt! I cant even tell you how many other awesome titles I wrote down that Ill be back for over time that you wont find anywhere else! The owner was SO nice and accommodating and he also sells antiques and lamps (a few of which Im picking up tomorrow) and records! I will be a regular customer here! If you want curated shelves hit up barnes and noble if you want a romantic independent book store so full of one of a kind titles that its practically magical this is the store for you!

This antique shop looked very interesting online so we stopped in. OMG. Can you say hoarder? She has a LOT of stuff crammed so tightly into two stores that there is no way anyone of any size could see anything beyond halfway back in one store and literally 4 steps into the second one. The first store I entered I scored between piles of books on the floor and boxes to see down 2 aisles but could not enter them for all the junk all over the floor in the aisles. I was able to spy some vintage furniture way in the back and I would have liked to take a look but there was no way back there. It was just a wall of junk between me and what appeared to be a path to that area. I gave up. Was ready to leave when she offered to open up the other store for me to look. So when I entered the second store, I saw a couple bridge lamps and some art on the wall but I couldnt take more than 4 steps in the front door. I couldnt enter any of the aisles and could only peek down one aisle. I dont understand how this woman expects to sell anything at all. Its very frustrating because I love antiquing and I really wanted to see the history she had in those stores but there was no way. My husband found some overpriced vinyl records and CDs and I asked about a Harry Potter book set that isnt even vintage and she wanted full Barnes and Noble price for the used set. Waaaat!?!? Anyway, I wouldnt go here again. It was very disappointing. I actually went down the street to the Good Shepherd thrift store and found a Capodimonte vase for $1. So it wasnt a completely wasted trip. 🙂
