Made it right before closing. Staff was courteous and helpful. Glad I met a retired Naval Chief as a manager I believe. Shared some stories and will definitely be back. Even got my military discount without a Hassel. Hard to even ask nowadays in some places. Not here, thanks for the hospitality.

The property owner needs to remove the metal steaks that are hidden in the bushes. Hazard. One unseen fence post damaged a fender while backing out of a parking spot.

The AAA tow truck driver recommended we take the car here to get a free battery check. We did. It was quick and the sales associate was quick, knowledgeable, and friendly. A new battery with three-year warranty was installed and we were on our way home in no time. Josh gets five stars for being so professional and excellent at his job.

Chris was great! My boat audio system lost power. Chris volunteered to not only help me determine it was a simple blown fuse but also gave me a lesson on how to use a volt meter.Thanks guys !

Called to see if a part was in stock, told me they could order it, when I asked when it would be in, they told “when the store opened the next day”, when I asked when they opened, the man who was talking to me got an attitude with me, talked down to me, and said “at 9am”, I said I would call around and see if anyone else had it but I would probably call back and order it, they said ok and while I was still talking to them, they hung up on me. I will buy that part from anyone other than Advance Auto now no matter how long I have to wait for it. Advance Auto, is this because I was a woman calling about car parts and this was man I was speaking to from the store?? Is this the kind of customer service training you give?? You teach your representatives to talk down to women?? Ladies who take care of your own cars, I suggest you go elsewhere. Autozone was very professional when I called them after Advance Auto was so rude to me, and Autozone didn’t treat me any different than if I was anyone else.

Called and asked what kind of headlights go in my truck. The guy couldnt find it and began to cuss. Then he decided to argue with me about what my truck looked like compared to previous model year.Would not recommend!!!

They dont honer lifetime warranties on parts. If you purchased anything from carquest before the merger. Forget about them honoring lifetime warranties without a receipt. They wont ever think about looking up your information.

Old balding man with faded barely visible tattoo was very rude. When my friend asked where hose clamps were, he abruptly pointed to a vague direction instead of leading him or explaining as to where they were. As I was being rung up I needed to check my speed perks on my phone so I offered the person behind me to go ahead of me. The man claimed he could not wait for me because he couldn’t stop the transaction although I have worked at Advance myself and know that he was able to do so at this point, and then demanded I finish the transaction when I was not ready yet to do so. Old balding man with barely visible tattoo needs to be told that he needs to get his act together.

Went online to find out the business hours. Clearly stated they were open until 9 PM. I got to the doors at 830PM and lo and behold the place closed at 8. Lets hope that you dont depend on them to be open in an emergency. Either way OReilly is right across the highway and they are open until 10 and their website advertises that.

Always fast and friendly whenever we stop in here! These guys are happy to go above and beyond when needed. This time we just needed a radiator cap, but theyve run diagnostics for a gunked up fuel system and provided tools and advice for a difficult battery replacement too. Theres a bunch of parts stores in a small area here, but Advance Auto is our go-to every time!

I have dealt with this particular store two times over the past month. Once was for a starter and they had the best price of 3 auto stores. The second was that I needed a hydraulic line and they were the only ones in the area that did that kinda thing. The workers for the most part were kind and helpful with the exception of one older guy that looked like he wanted to die. 5/5 would recommend.

Went to buy a front signal light in auburn. The original light was clear. The desk guy did it by the book, which showed a clear light. In my mind a signal light is a signal light, two contacts on the bottom, 12v, correct type. But he said not so. After a few minutes of discussion, I picked up a pack to buy, he wished me luck, and I brought them home, plugged them in and they worked perfectly. So much for the book.

Fantastic service got what I was looking for with no problem from salesperson. I went to autozone down the street from this Advance and the salesperson didnt do the work to find what I needed for my vehicle. This place took the time to find it and I am so grateful for it. This place rocks!

I have had a bunch of 3 star experiences there and started shopping across the road. Gave it 4 stars because I was in last week and they were great. Maybe new MGMT, but I felt like I wanted to be helped this time where other visits I felt I was bothering the staff.

Bill was having a hard time getting my back wiper off for replacement. He left rubber marks on my truck. Asked him would they come off. He said he’d try. He got Chris to look at the marks. As I was talking to Chris, he walked away. Chris came back and put the back wiper on. Asked him about the marks. He said it is only the clear coat and attempted to wipe the marks off. Told him the marks were not there before Bill struggled with the wiper. He didn’t care that slight marks were still present. Chris put the front wipers on. I said thank you twice and did not hear him respond.

I rarely write reviews, but the OUTSTANDING service I received at Advance Auto Parts in Clayton, NC on July 14, 2016 leaves me no choice!I came in to purchase a couple of burned out bulbs - item # in hand. MARIE C. was the cashier and she took my crib note and immediately pulled the bulbs I needed from the hundreds on display. As I was checking out she asked me if I needed anything else? Jokingly I said, Only if you provide installation. She came out and installed a tail light for me,, but in the process of determining she wouldnt be able to install the other light, I locked myself out of the car! Did I mention it was 95 degrees?MARIE C. could have walked away but instead she spent the next 20 minutes helping me get back into my locked car. What a trooper!Im a fan of Advance Auto Parts in Clayton now. THANK YOU MARIE C.! To her manager - she deserves a promotion!

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!You walk in the store. There are three employees behind the counter. One employee is helping a customer. The other two are busy, but not really appearing to be doing anything.Three minutes later, the only employee in the store doing his job wraps up with the customer he was helping and is able to assist me. Other two guys still havent done anything productive in this time. Thought the customer came first in a retail establishment. Whatever.I need brake pads for a particular vehicle. I also need the brake hardware for this vehicle if the pads dont come with it. He looks up my vehicle and determines what part I need. Unfortunately, they are out of stock for both the pads and the hardware. But he gave me an immediate solution and said that the neighboring Smithfield store has both brake pads that include hardware, and also just a hardware kit too. Either way, the Smithfield store has two different options in stock.So I drive to the Smithfield store. They did indeed have the brake pad set in stock that includes the hardware kit. Great! The lady goes and gets the part off the shelf. I open the box up and what do you know, somebody stole the hardware out of this box. Ok no big deal because they have a hardware kit in stock at this location too, right? NOPE! Their computer clearly shows they dont stock the hardware kit either. So I walk out of the Smithfield store hands empty and very frustrated.Now typically, I wouldnt rate a store with a one star review over one bad experience or what could be just a glitch in their computer system. No retail establishment is by definition perfect. But this advance Auto parts store is getting my one star vote today because this is the second time in a month period Ive been referred to another advance Auto store from this location under the impression that location would have my part in stock just to find out they dont. I dont understand how inventories can be so radically different from one computer to another when they all get their information from the same computer server. Something is horribly off in their IT department and it has caused hours of wasted drive time for me and proves to me how sloppy their inventory system is.If you need car parts just go to OReillys. At least if they dont have it in stock they wont send you on a ghost hunt.
