My first time at FSCC and it was a pleasure! Phil was so nice and gave me a very good amount for my items. It is a fabulous place to shop for vintage and rare items as well as coins. Highly recommend!
Really fun to browse in the shop. Owner is nice, and fair with prices. Its been many years since Ive sold anything to the shop, so I cant speak much on that. I have recently been going in as a purchaser. On my latest trip, I found a coin I was interested in and decided to purchase it. When he went to ring me up, he knocked 5 bucks off the price without me asking. I will be back!
Fabulous experience! I sold some gold jewelry and Phil gave me the best price, and I shopped around first. He is upfront and and down-to-earth. Highly recommend if you want top dollar for gold and want to deal with an honest businessman. Integrity at a level which is rare today. Tops!
The owner is always friendly and had a great knowledge of coins. Always gives me a deal on silver coins I find and more than fair with trade values. Im lucky to have this shop close to home!
Good prices and very knowledgeable. Ill be back again for sure
Very straightforward and knowledgeable. Always sold me silver cheaper than any other shop I can find. Can seem a bit unpersonable from time to occasion, but if you take the time to get to know them youll never find a better coin shop.
Great place to buy coins or bullion. I highly recommend them.
Extremely helpful phone interaction. Saved me a drive by knowing the answers to my questions. Will recommend to anyone who is looking into seeing if they have hidden value in older money.
Great customer service. Had a few items to sale. Was greeted by the owner with a smile and hello even though he was with another customer. I waited about 5 minutes for him to finish and he was right with me telling me what I had, where it came from, and what the value was and could be. He bought a gold chain I was reluctant to sell but he gave me a good deal. Overall 10 ⭐5.
Brought my kids with me to buy a few things and he act like he didnt want us there
Great place to buy coins. Huge selection a fair prices
Its a diamond in the rough. Rarely do i leave without a purchase. Phil is fair in pricing and not only coins available but a wide variety. Thanks Phil...we appreciate you. Daddy o and Lisa...
Best store Ive found in the Cinci region. Prices are great with very knowledgeable owner who really knows his stuff. Regularly gets new and interesting inventory. Could spend all day looking at all the other fun things for sale too.
Always a pleasure. I’ve been frequenting this establishment for almost 10 years and always feel like I get get value for my $.
I was very impressed with the store as far as all around collectibles. Amazing actually! Very knowledgeable and polite owner/operator willing to help my group when we needed it. It seemed like the focus of collections was coins and paper money but I would suggest if you are into collecting anything, check this place out. He might just have or can get what youre looking for. Thanks Phil!
Helpful, friendly, can be quick or will take as much time as you want.
Went in for my third time to sell to this shop. The first two times the guy was rude, and this time was no exception. He weighed what I had and offered a really low price, as usual. I asked if he could come a little closer to scrap value and he replied how do you figure this isnt close to scrap when I proceeded to explain the current scrap price of that particular gold, I was interrupted multiple times. When I finally was able to show him what it was worth he said take it somewhere else I dont want your stuff anymore. I completely get he has to make his money but what he offered me was 70% below scrap value. He will rip you off and if hes not in control and youre able to show hes wrong he will be extremely rude to you, ruder than he normally is. I took the same items to a different place and got offered double what he offered. I wont ever be back in his establishment again. There are multiple places that are closer that pay better, I suggest you find those.
Bad customer service, extremely cold. The woman working glared at me in silence when I walked in after I greeted her with “hello how are you”. She proceeded to close the cabinet of items in front of her as I passed by, as if I was going to take something from her. The man working acting as though he couldn’t be bothered with me as if I was wasting his time.
Phil is awesome! Treats everyone fairly. Great place for collective coins and antiques
Honest and knowledgeable owner. Safe due to the location of the police headquarters right across the street. Always rare merchandise flowing in out the door. 5/5 must visit.
If your interested into getting into precious metal or coin collecting this is the place. And Phil is very reasonable with his prices beating most online stored and markets. Its a big plus dealing with an independent small business aswell.
I love coin and currency collecting. However, the downside of the hobby is that you have to deal with coin dealers, which tend to be shady shysters or downright liars. Phil is definitely an exception. I recently moved to Cincinnati, and in my dealings with him over the last year he has consistently treated me fairly and honestly. He is willing to take the time to properly negotiate a transaction without pressuring the customer or feeding them a line of BS. If he does not have what you are looking for in stock then he will make every attempt to track it down for you. Ive never left his shop regretting a purchase or sale, which is a rare thing. If you are shopping for, or are interested in selling coins, currency, or collectables in the Cincinnati area then I would definitely suggest making Franklin Street Coin your first stop. Phil will treat you right.
Zero!;!
The owner waa extremely rude to us. He offered below gold value and when he was proved wrong about the price, he made us leave. We went to a different place and they were much more professional and offered more than what he offered. I will never do business here again.
Love the store, a lot of neat items. But a guy came in so he was busy. I will try go when he has time to help me
Phil is a great guy to deal with. This place is full of very unique vintage and antique items with a heavy emphasis on coins!
Nice guy and good products
Excellent place to visit, the proprietor was very professional and kind. Great place to shop for unique gifts.
The owner was very straightforward with his quotes on silver prices.
I called to try and find out about selling some rare memorabilia and was scoffed at and treated very rudely. Items valued at over $700. You might as well sell them yourself.
I took in about 200 Silver American Eagle bullion coins for sale, all in excellent condition. The man behind the counter hemmed and hawed and punched away at his calculator and hemmed and hawed some more. Finally, he quoted a price that was WAY below the spot price for silver that day. I asked him why he wasnt paying spot price and he said, How do you expect us to make any money? I gathered up my silver to leave and he started arguing with me, Youre actually gonna walk out on me? I said, If you dont pay todays spot price, yes, watch me. Either A) he was absolutely clueless about buying SAEs, or B) he was trying to rip me off. Either reason is a good reason not to sell to this shop!
I have most recently dealt with coin dealers in Ocala, FL.... They are inferior in knowlege to Franklin street coins.
The owner is very knowledgeable about coin and old currency values.
Good products and friendly staff. Honest about whats selling well and whats overhyped. If he doesnt want to buy your stuff, chances are nobody else does either. Heres the not so big secret - buyers flip your cards on ebay. If they cant flip them, theyre not buying them. So all of you (like me) who have complete Topps baseball sets from the 80s... I dont care if you bought them or built them, enjoy them for the memories because youre not getting rich.Four stars because small shops are just a bit more expensive and they dont always have exactly what you want at the time you want it. Its worth it to spend a bit more and keep your money local, though.
Very trustworthy shop and owner. My go to place for building my sets.
Very cramped, hard to see anything. If you are just looking for coins you might love it.
Giant coin collection most coins Ive ever seen in one dealer no doubt if your looking for something this is the place to check out!
Staff was very curt and not friendly at all. Disappointed in my experience.*Note: You may want to call for the current address as they appear to have moved. Google took me to the old location.
Alot of cool stuff
