Billing department talks down to you and treats you like a child. Customer service is very rude and does not want to help! I wish i would have read the reviews prior to ordering. It took them over 8 months to process my insurance claim and then found out they overcharged me. Would NOT recommend!!!!!
My doctors office uses Mommy Express for breast pumps, the process was easy, they were easy to get ahold of and prompt at responding, only thing Im not fond of (which isnt their fault) is that issues with the pump have to go through a 3rd party (manufacturer) & Ive already had to file 2 warranty claims in the less than 3 months that Ive had the pump. I initially dealt with Ann who was friendly, and great with follow up & when I had to request a more detailed receipt for my warranty claim, I worked with Kelly who was also friendly & prompt at responding.
Highly dissatisfied with outside rep, Ellen. Ellen called my daughter with one sentence, “I’m sending you (this) pump covered by your insurance. Ellen did not review any options with my daughter or upgrades available. After my daughter reviewed the pump against other pumps online, she discovered that the “free” pump is sub-par. As a young mother new to breastfeeding, she wanted to go with a better pump. She reached out to Ellen who shut her down claiming there was nothing that she could do, so my daughter would be stuck with a pump she didn’t want. We reached out to the office who promptly changed the order, and we paid the $150 out of pocket for the better pump. All we have to do is send back the original pump sent to us. Great in house customer service. Very poor outside rep who was too lazy to discuss options with a young mother.
WOW !!! Did the order from phone months ahead of due day, got a text message at 29 weeks on confirming address and due date and what model of Brest pump and received the next day, like the next day that is so nice I have 2 months left before I’m due so good job 👏🏽
Very terrible customer service. I would not recommend using this company and just go through your insurance or just buy a breast pump on your own. I regret using this service. Very unprofessional and I dont see this company staying in business for much longer. Will report to BBB. I wish I looked at the reviews before using their services. One word. SCAM
Wish I would have read these reviews before going with Mommy Xpress. What I am reading is definitely what I dealt with. I was told you would receive a free breast pump through insurance by using this company. When I spoke with the lady she pretty much completely blew me off and spoke over me. I could not ask questions, she did not ask what I preferred, she told me what to I was getting. Then I was asked to pay full price for the pump.Terrible customer service. Would NOT recommend
I HIGHLY recommend that you call your insurance company and ask for their recommendation on a supplier. Doing so saved me at least $200 on an upgraded breast pump.MommyXpress representative was a little pushy and was directing me towards their most expensive pumps and told me that after insurance, the pump would be about $300. After calling my insurance and getting the name of the supplier they recommended, I was able to order online (without talking to anyone :) ) and get the same pump for only $150 after insurance. Not sure where they are getting their prices, but seems like they are inflated to turn a profit.
Terrible customer service, extremely rude. I had called them in May to request a breast pump, knowing that I had two months until my due date, and plenty of time to receive my item. They just today got a hold of me, when I had already received a breast pump last month through my OB office and insurance, because Mommy Xpress never followed up with me. I responded to them saying that I had already received one, and their response was extremely rude. They told me that is what we do is give pumps through insurance and Im pretty sure we explain that to you when you called and requested a pump. What kind of customer service is that?!! Will NOT ever go through this company again. If I could give zeeo stars, I would. And I wish I could post a screenshot, but dont know how.
Extremely aggressive sales tactics. For some reason, my insurance would only knock $50 off of the breast pump I wanted through their service. So I asked about the other two pumps they make, same deal. She asked me why did I want a Spectra and I told them, the most important thing is the brand. I am extremely picky in this regard. So what did she try to do? Sell me the cheapest and worst reviewed breast pump. It didnt have half of the features that the Spectra offers. And then she got more aggressive and angry that I would not budge on what brand I wanted. I said that I was sorry to have wasted her time and that I was going to use a different company because they offered my pump for free with my insurance. She kept raising her voice, so I apologized and hung up.I would recommend shopping around with your insurance and many places let you completely avoid talking to humans in general, which would really benefit this website....
Talked down to on the phone. Very unfriendly. Condescending. Will take my business elsewhere. Fortunately, I know I have options but I feel bad for women who think they are their only choice. Prices are high as well for products that would actually work.
Had a great, prompt experience and my rep was very helpful and thorough.
Absolutely the worst customer service ever! Received a text from this company representative named Ellen called as instructed and received a call back the next day from the rudest person I have ever talked to. She spoke to me like I was an idiot when I asked a simple question trying to get clarification on the process. I would never in my life use this company allowing their employees to be beyond rude to people asking a simple question.
I used this company was I was pregnant with my second and they tried to take advantage of me. I work for Anthem, and knew going into this exactly what my benefit coverage was and which pump I wanted (knowing it would be covered in full.) They ran my insurance and came back and told me that my insurance didn’t cover the full price of the pump. I explained to them that as an in network provider, they cannot charge more than the Anthem negotiated rate. They did not care.I finally decided I would try to get the quote in writing so I could report them to Anthem. I never threatened this but simply asked for the price quote to my email so I could have it. As soon as I requested this quote in writing, they offered to wave the additional cost as a convenience to me. They know exactly what they are doing. They are taking advantage of moms who do not know any better. I can not recommend staying away from this shady company enough.
Do not use this company!!! They try and take advantage of you. I knew what pump I wanted and they told me there was only one option that would be covered fully. I knew this was not right, so I told her I would hold off. They try and rush you into providing the information to ship and force you to make a decision. I used Arrow Flow Breast Pumps and they provided me with so many more free options and had it shipped within a couple days!!
If your insurance doesnt cover the full cost of a pump, be sure to shop around. My insurance only pays $95 toward a pump. Mommy Xpress quoted me a price of $180 for the pump I wanted with my insurance. The same pump is currently on Amazon for $153, so it was cheaper to just buy one from Amazon and not go through my insurance. That having been said, everyone I dealt with at Mommy Xpress was nice and helpful and if I had insurance that covered the full cost of the pump I definitely would have ordered from them.
I submitted information online and received a return call quickly to order a pump. When reviewing what pump I wanted to order she told me I had an out of pocket expense. When I told her that didnt sound correct she insisted that I had an insurance change earlier in the year. After contacting a HR representative, there was no change and they charge more for the same pump. Definitely contact your benefits manager before paying anything out of pocket!!
Don’t use this company is the worst that I have met in USA. They want just to take your money. That the truth. This company is scam scam scam scam scam ...
Scam! Go directly through your insurance bc they offer free pumps. Which Xpress tells you they don’t have or offer free ones through your insurance.
This company is a scam. They try to manipulate people who arent familiar with their insurance benefits. Fortunately I knew what my insurance covered. They wanted to tell me my insurance would not cover the the pump and I would have to pay out of pocket. They also ignored my insurance company attempting to contact them. I politely requested that they cancel my request for the pump and the lady started lecturing me about what my insurance would cover. Needless to say I did not purchase anything through them, I went to a store and just purchased my own pump and got reimbursed through insurance (for more money than what this company said I was allowed!)
Extremely rude staff....they are non patriotic and could care less in supporting service members who serve this great nation. I will use the alternate route with my medical coverage and get my pump thru target. I will make sure to steer everyone I know away from this hateful bussniess.
I ordered a breast pump with my insurance through this company. Turned out, the post office misdelivered it to the wrong house! I was extremely upset and stressed out because I was scared I just lost my only insurance claim for a pump. I decided to call Mommyxpress to see if they had purchased insurance on the package. I was able to talk to a Mrs. Donna in the packaging department and she did not hesitate to take care of the problem! She is sending another (requiring a signature) and is going to deal with the post office for me from here.Side note: when the tracking number showed there was an issue, a member of their staff immediately called me to check on it. She also sent me her email to keep her updated throughout the process.I am blown away with the service! Thank you so much for making this as easy as possible!
Ordered my pump on a Friday was promised to get it by Tuesday. Since my son is in the NICU I was in dire need of it. Called on Wednesday after still not receiving it and was told it was somehow missed and not sent out. And the representative had the gumpshin to tell me just use the one at the hospital. Well thats great I will drive to the hospital at 2 am and 5 am to pump. This company is a joke. If they hadnt already charged my insurance I would have went somewhere else. DONT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!! 😡
Ellen was very rude on the phone.
Ordered my pump two days before Thanksgiving was told it would arrive the following week. Got it via FedEx on Black Friday. Everything was as expected.
Ordered pump wednesday came fed ex to me on friday. ladies were really nice and I paid nothing out of pocket !!!
Reached out via website to inquire about pump coverage via insurance and was called quickly by a rep telling me i was covered for a double electric pump 100% by insurance. I asked SEVERAL times if they were sure it was covered in full and she said yes. Received pump a few days later. A month later received EOB from insurance carrier saying it was not covered and i owed over $200! Reached out to billing team at MommyXpress and even emailed over EOB. That was weeks ago and i still dont know if there was ever a resolution despite several follow up emails with no response. Good luck.Update: After reaching out for an update via email eventually calling for a followup the company stated that my insurance paid for some of the pump and that they would cover the rest due to the inconvenience.
Scam Scam ScamDo not use them please go directly through your insurance company.
RIP off! Had to pay an out of pocket expense on a breast pump that was covered in full by my insurance company.
