Love this tattoo shop!! Lots of awesome work being done in here, clean, and professional. They have a tattoo gumball machine!! Never seen anything like it in my life!! The owner seems like a chill dude, and the rest of the staff are all pretty chill as well. Lots of bright colors and lovely designs everywhere!! Custom tattoos at great prices as well. Definitely one of the best shops that i have ever seen. Cant wait to get some serious ink done!!

I cant recommend Sub Rosa and my artist Thong enough. Super clean facility that is enforcing masks and social distancing to keep patrons safe. Every single staff member I spoke to were super friendly and made me feel right at home. My artist Thong took what I wanted and made it come to life. The attention to detail he has is impeccable. Ive gotten a fair number of piercings & 3 tattoos at SRS. Every artist here is conscientious about their work, talented, and non-judgemental about clients. Im not a typical client, but I always feel welcome in their shop. Highly recommended, make tattoo appointments asap, and simple ones you can walk in on Fridays & Saturdays.

I have several (19) tattoos. I’ve been getting tattooed for going on 15 years now. Sub Rosa is hands down one of the best tattoo shops I have been to in the NRV area. The atmosphere is amazing. The artists are so friendly and the dude at the front desk is so sweet and I actually feel welcomed. I have been tattooed by two of their artists, Thong and Abe. Both were amazing. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. Highly recommended.

Went there about 2 years ago and got a tiger tattoo on my right arm done by Dave the tiger has one huge ear and one little ear and I have an L next to my wrist never did go back will eventually find another shop to fix the mistakes they made 600.00 down the drain. Yes i approved the design and location but the design did not have the L in it nor did it have the one big ear and one little ear.

The guy who did our walkins was new to the shop but did good. We also worked with the female piercer and she did very well. Pricing was fair. I definitely plan to return.

My friends and I got piercings by Kari. The staff who welcomed us and checked us in were very friendly. Kari was very clean and quick with our piercings. Got my helix piercing done by Atom, and the experience was great! He made me feel very welcome, thoroughly answered my questions, and explained aftercare steps. Got my nose pierced by Atom today. He was awesome and super friendly. He was quick and was great about calming my nerves. 10 outta 10 recommend. Prices are very decent as well.

Clean, friendly, no judgement, good artist. Disposable razors, needles, and ink. No infection risk here. Nicole can knock out some straight lines fast, and is nice to talk to. If you are flexible, they can get you in pretty quickly for walk in type tattoos. If you want big and complex you are going to have to schedule a time in the future, but quality is worth waiting for. Prices are very reasonable.

All the staff Ive talked to were amazing. This is a great place to get any work done if you have anxiety about your piercing or tattoo. They make you so comfortable. By far the best parlor Ive ever experienced. & I will go back to them if I ever want anymore work done, of any kind! Love them. 5 stars isnt enough!

Amazing! I am visiting Virginia for 2 months and decided to get my seconds done. I had incredible service! I’m super happy with the result, he checked the position with me to make sure I was happy, and let me sit until I felt okay to get up. Amazing service. Although I usually get panicked about getting piercings, Atom put me right at ease, making myself and my friends laugh. My friend (who is a piercer) has done all my other piercings, and the experience here was better than all of my others back in the UK. I would 100% recommend this place. Wish I could have had all my piercings here. Thank you for such a great experience!

Absolutely the worst customer Service Ive ever experienced in my life my friend wanted to get a tattoo and I wanted to get a piercing so I called them so we can both make appointments and they told me that we couldnt make an appointment for the tattoo so I asked him if I can make an appointment for my piercing however they told me I had to do it on messenger on Facebook I was messaging them on Facebook and they continuously left me on read they finally answered me (after I kept messaging them) and told me that they had appointments for after 5 PM I asked them to make an appointment and they never answered me but they left me on read for all my messages!do not go here they do not care about their customers! We were going to spend a lot of money there too! Guess they dont want our business!

Came in to get my first tattoo. The employee was SO rude when I told him what tattoo I wanted and where I wanted it on my ribs and he said why would you get it there, thats so BASIC get it somewhere else. I then had to explain why I couldnt get it on anywhere visible for professional reasons for nursing school, which I shouldnt have to explain myself. Worst experience for me as it was my first tattoo. Didnt get my tattoo here and left immediately.

Got my belly button pierced yesterday by kari and it was a great experience. She really helped calm my nerves(Im a big chicken lol) and make sure I was okay before after the piercing. I will definitely come back for any future piercings/tattoos.

I got my lobes pierced here and had a wonderful experience! Atom is skilled and friendly, and his piercing room is incredibly clean. My ears healed perfectly after a few weeks despite my first piercings having issues for YEARS after I got them pierced, thanks to his aftercare instructions. Im definitely going to come back for more, and Id recommend Sub Rosa as a great place to go for piercings - even if its your first time!

Got my first facial piercing today and it was a fantastic experience thanks to Atom! I was extremely nervous and anxious and he put my mind at ease throughout the whole process. I can’t say it was painless but it was as closer to painless as a nostril piercing can get. Highly recommend!

Atom is literally the best and nicest piercer ever! Makes you feel comfortable! I had to re-pierce my naval because the first piercer took too much skin, but atom pierced it SO WELL and it healed pretty quickly than before. 10/10 recommended

My wife gets all of her work done here. Theyre the best. *Edit* I finally got around to getting some ink of my own done. Niccole was amazing. The ink I got was in a VERY sensitive area at times and she was light handed enough that it barely hurt. I didnt even have to pay the extra $20 for softer needles made out of unicorn hair. 😁😆😂

I went this evening for a septum piercing. Atom was awesome. He told me exactly how he would go through with the piercing. It took about 15 minutes, most of which was paperwork I needed to do then him explaining the process and the aftercare of the piercing. It was very quick, clean, and comfortable process. I’ll definitely be going back for all future piercings!

Came in yesterday to get a small hip tattoo by Nicole- all I have to say is the first tattoo I got was at a parlor where they did not calm my nerves about getting my first tattoo and made the situation more stressful for me. I think I was more nervous for my second yesterday but Nicole completely calmed my nerves and responded so well to my anxious babbling. And the tattoo turned out just how I wanted it! I wish I had gone here for my first not only because of the experience but the prices are hard to beat. Was able to walk right in and get the tattoo that I wanted. Definitely recommend this place!

Dave did a cover up tattoo for me about a year ago. He is very nice, patient, and down to earth. His artwork is beautiful and I get stopped a lot and complimented for his work. People even get their friends to come look at my tattoo. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about his work. He is more than happy to work with you and draw exactly what you want while explaining the process on the way. I do want to mention that he doesnt update his portfolio so its hard to truly see his wide range of abilities. Please just go in and talk to him. Let him draw your tattoo. Youll be very impressed!!

Corey Hollins is a truly talented professional. I will never go anywhere else. His research, focus, and application is akin to surgical precision. He even found the artist that originally created the image I wanted, so that he could get the best resolution. It is clear that he makes your tattoo a personal mission to complete his best art while also encouraging your input. His technique is gentle and it did not hurt at all! The shop is a very clean and welcoming environment. As an RN with 20 yrs of hospital experience, Coreys sterile technique is top notch as well. Went in to get my Septum pierced, and Atom was super friendly and funny which made the process so much more pleasant. All in all it took less than 15 minutes and he was super thorough in describing the entire process and got the sweet spot in my nose which made the piercing virtually painless! I have been recommending him to anyone who mentions getting a piercing. Atom also has set up a salt water fish tank in his studio which is very relaxing. Will be returning for any future piercing needs and hopefully will be coming back for some tattoos! Loved him, the vibes of the shop, and the experience!

Let me preface this by saying Im one of the most anxious people I know. That being said, Atom pierced my septum today and it was a complete breeze. He took his time explaining everything, made me completely at ease, and made the process incredibly simple. His piercing room was sterile and clean. He was patient with my 3000 questions and even looked over some older piercings I have and discussed options for putting jewelery back in them. I honestly believe Ive finally found a new piercer in the area that I can trust since Vicki from Ancient Art left years ago. Dude knows what hes doing and does it well. Ill be back!
