I had my first visit today at Excel Optometry. My first impression- wow! I loved how clean the office was and how all proper COVID precautions were followed (masks worn and sanitizer easily accessible). This is a modern optometry with the latest devices! Dr. Nguyen was very friendly and answered all my questions thoroughly. It was a fast and easy visit with no pain! I’m happy I chose to visit Excel Opt and will surely be a long term patient! I plan on referring my family and friends as private patient fees are also very reasonable! Thank you Excel Optometry for the amazing service and great chair side manner!

I havent had an eye exam in about 6 years. My optometrist retired, and I wanted to find one here in Chino Hills.I searched and found Dr. Nguyen at EXCEL FAMILY OPTOMETRY. Dr. Nguyen has all five star reviews.I scheduled an appointment for the following day at 10:30. All required forms (health questionnaires) were sent to me via email.I arrived for ny appointment a few minutes early and was promptly seen by Leslie, the assistant. Leslie took images (retinal scan) and then I was seen Dr. Nguyen. Im 71 years old and Ive have to say that Dr. Nguyen was absolutely awesome. He was exceptionally thorough with the entire examination, the best Ive ever had, and took plenty of time to explain things and answer all my questions. Dr. Nguyen is a stellar optometrist and clearly cares about his patients. I can see clearly now, which was not the case when I scheduled my appointment. Dr. Nguyen will definitely be my permanent optometrist and I highly, highly recommend that anyone looking for one schedule an appoinment with him. Youll find him to be exceptionally competent and personable.

Hi! Unfortunately I have not been to the eye doctor in years, however I had noticed a change in my eyesight and needed to find an eye doctor that was reliable and trusting. I am so happy I decided to come to Excel family optometry! I had such a pleasant and welcoming experience. Both the techs and the optometrist made me feel very comfortable. Excel family is so great! My children (6 and 8 years old) had their first optometry visits here and the staff is very welcoming and kid friendly. I had been going to the same family optometrist for my whole life, and now that I am older and no longer on the same vision insurance plan, I decided to explore my options and find quality eye care. I had not been to an optometrist since COVID-19 started and my main concern was safety and sanitation. I found out about Excel Family Optometry and saw that they prioritize COVID-19 safety and sanitation procedures, with a screening test and a temperature check as soon as you walk in the door. Leslie was extremely patient and helpful, walking me through and assisting me with the pre-exam process. Dr. Vu Nguyen was friendly, patient, and informative! He made sure to ask if I had any questions at all, and was very thorough in the eye exam process. After the exam, Leslie assisted me with trying on glasses frames, explaining that they sanitize every pair when youre done trying them on, and was very informational in answering all the questions I had! This was by far my best experience with an eye exam ever, and I will be coming back for my future eye exams!

Professional, very-well informed and helpful staff. All proper precautions were taken to make me feel at ease in this era of COVID-19. The optometrist took his time in explaining different options for lenses, went over my exam and my vision status compare to last year. He answered all my questions I had concerning my current issues with contact lenses. This is my second year with them and I highly recommend it. I did not feel like they were pushing products on me to purchase, the staff offered me all options available and let me decide what worked best for me in terms of affordability without compromising care. This was a great experience at Excel Optometry. Extremely clean and great service. Not like your typical office visit where you wait for 30 minutes. Took me in almost right away, disinfected everything in front of me. I felt very safe here.I would highly recommend to anyone, I came from the big chain, Lens Crafters, but feel this was a much better experience as I felt cared for.5 stars!

My husband and I love how the place has state of the art equipments, they are clean and they have a varity selection on frames. The staffs are professional, friendly, and helpful. We enjoy the process of getting our eyes check and how the staff explain each steps. For our first visit, Dr. Nguyen assisted me with getting fitted with the right contact lense which I was so nervous for and the staff was patient in teaching me how to put on and removing them which I gain more confidence in doing after multiplied tries. I highly recommend going here. The staff was friendly from the time I walked in. They did the COVID check but didnt make it awkward like some places do.The Doctor, Dr. Nguyen was great. Took his time explaining things to me and talking about options because I was looking at going to contacts for reading. He also talked about other options as a backup since I was tired of taking my reading glasses in and off all of the time.When it came time for training on the contacts, they were all so patient and helpful. They took their time and helped me, even the Doctor.This came from a suggestion from someone on my Nextdoor app a d I will be sure to do the same.

Initially, my husband and I were nervous about going to get our eyes checked during this pandemic, but Dr. Nguyen, Sylvia, and Leslie made the experience very pleasant. The office was very clean and your can tell that the place was sanitized frequently. They had a tray for you to place all glasses that have been tried on, so they can sanitize them thoroughly before putting them back on the display. Dr. Nguyen was very detailed in explaining what he observed and suggested. Sylvia and Leslie were friendly and helpful. Overall, this is a wonderful place!

This place is great! I came home from NYC to visit family and was recommended to come here. The service and experience was awesome from start to finish. Everything felt easy and very personal from checking in with Sylvia and picking my new glasses with Dr. Nguyen.It has been a few years since the last time I got my eyes checked. Dr. Nguyen examined my eyes and was able to explain and walk me through each machine we used. He also explained some great details about our eyes and gave me some pointers on how to exercise my vision and protect them for longevity. Which other doctors have never really taken the time out to do. Usually its in and out and just checking and having me read letters. I actually never knew what each machines really did until now.After my eyes were checked and I got a prescription he walked outside to the main room to help me choose my new glasses. We went through many options and he was patient and helpful on choosing the right frames for my face and pulling all the styles I liked.I highly recommend checking this place out!

This place is great! The office is definitely high-tech and Dr. Nguyen was very informative on what and how these things work if you’re used to the old fashioned stuff. The two ladies upfront will help pick out your glasses and have amazing taste. There’s also a pretty good variety to choose from, including the indestructible glasses. Would definitely recommend to others!

What an amazing experience from start to finish, I have never been to a private ophthalmologist before and after this interaction I would say I will definitely keep coming back. My biggest take away was how the wonderful receptionist and Dr. Were out in the show room helping my pick out my new frames. I feel like they really cared about how I felt in my new glasses. Leslie and Vu were excellent. They are very safe when handling customers in regards to covid-19. Its location is surrounded with a couple restaurants and Starbucks too in case youre hungry or need to get a coffee to start your day.

By far the best. Optometrist takes the time to go over eye xrays and talk about potential risks. They take FSA & HSA and have high end frames at reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend.
