Extremely knowledgeable and transparent. Ive had bad experiences in the past with other violin shops in the Fine Arts Building, but never with Eric Swanson. High level of skill and customer service.

Hes very knowledgeable and provides a high level of customer service. I was even able to exchange my bow for a bow of similar value. Will definitely be returning!

In a word: unreliable.I’m a Juilliard-trained violinist, educator, music professional and a collector of fine bows. As a student I worked at one of the most respected stringed instrument shops in New York. I know great bow work.After several transactions with Swanson, in my opinion both his bow rehair and repair work lack consistency - at times good but more often than not: sloppy, uncaring and necessitating revision by himself and others. Add to that, I have found him pleasant and courteous when in a good mood and at other times exceedingly rude and unpleasant. So, I wish him well but I shall not return.

Master of this craft. He has done restoration work for me on two separate occasions, and the results were impeccable.

Disappointing. Several people recommended him. I went to get two of my bows rehaired: one was done really well, but the other one was rehaired very poorly in more than one way.
