Incredible incredible selection. Feel lucky to have blundered by while it was open, and the owner couldn’t be lovelier, in a cozy space absolutely stacked with treasures. plan on coming back w an army of cash, this place is the real deal.

One of the better collections in Chicago. Not your typical over-priced, big box store selection. Cool memorabilia and a kind, knowledgeable owner.

My boyfriend and I walked into this place and I’m not going to lie, my first impression was that it was small but filled with lots of stuff. But as I walked in and started searching I was overwhelmed by the amazing collection that the owner had! Right away I found one of my favorite albums of all time (Dr. Dog - B Room) which I’ve never seen anywhere else! That alone made me the happiest person. I continued searching on my own for a while and the owner kept to himself but when I asked him if he had another artist he knew exactly where it was and pulled the albums out for me. I will definitely be a returning regular and I can’t wait to come back because I know that I will always find something great here! I cannot recommend this place enough and the owner was so kind with clearly amazing taste!

This place is a hidden gem. The records this place has in stock continues to surprise me every time I visit. Some are special editions that went out of stock years ago, yet here they are. This place continues to have everything I am looking for like magic. And the owner is so nice! Always a please getting to stop by here. Yes the hours are at a whenever schedule, but I know during Covid times hes open around 9-5 Wednesday through Saturday. I will always check this place out first before another store or Amazon. 🤙🏻

Seems like a cool place, but they were closed when I tried going in this afternoon! Guess the owner really does only open when he feels like it! Hoping to give it a visit one day, if theyre ever open! Update, finally got to visit today, nice little place! Owner seemed very nice and cool, great selection of albums and music. Hope to visit more whenever it’s open

As weird as it is, you need to find the right record store for your needs. I found that some record stores around *cough* Reckless *cough* dont only not know who the hell Im talking about when I ask about records, but they look at me like Im an idiot for asking. And then, of course, they dont have them.This record store is a one-man operation, but somehow he always has what I need. I guess its because I listen to more Country and Rockabilly than a lot of people in Chicago.Either which way, the owner is very friendly, and weve had some amazing conversations about different artists. He recommended an album from an artist Id never listened to, I bought it new ($23, quite an investment for someone I had never heard before) and I loved it.This guy just gets me.I almost gave one less star because of the erratic hours, but it literally says on the door or whenever I feel like it. Fair warning.Ive gladly spent the extra couple bucks to buy from this record store over Amazon. Awesome selection, fair prices and a knowledgeable owner. Highly recommended!

This place is so close... SO CLOSE to being a five star. The only thing that knocks away that star is its absolutely unpredictable hours. Cold day? Joe (the owner), like the rest of us, is staying warm at home. Nice day? Joe is out enjoying it, stores closed. The availability is absolutely unpredictable, but I love this place. More precisely, I love talking to Joe and finding a great new album buried in the stack. Its made even more enjoyable when Joe gives you an approving smile or nod or comment. Super nice guy, good selection, reasonable prices, crap reliability.

The owner it´s the coolest guy ever, Im from Mexico. I saw the store and I decide to stop I saw a really cool poster record store day, I usually collect poster from the cities I visit, anyways I told him that if he can sell me the poster, he looks for the best poster he has on the store and roll up to go, give it for me as a present and told me is a good karma.

This would be an amazing record store if its hours were anywhere close to consistent. My first few visits were very pleasant; the selection was great and the prices were decent. However, I havent been able to go inside since! Ive even called the posted phone number about 3-5 times a week with no response! I would honestly spend all of my money and buy every Ke$ha album in stock if this store was ever open. But its not. So I wont. So frustrating. Hire a student for $8/hr.

It’s never open. I’ve tried going here like five times but the owner never has the shop open. The store hours should be “whenever the owner feels like it”. I literally don’t know of anywhere that has an owner this lazy to keep the shop open. If you’re too lazy to own a record store then you need to A, close down completely, or B, sell the store to someone who knows how to operate a record store. Don’t even try to go here. You’re wasting your time if you do

I wish I could give this place a review but I am convinced that no one works here.Ive lived within a block of this place for 1.5 years and every time I walk by it they are closed. Id love to browse the selection and purchase some new tunes, but the owner apparently doesnt care about making a sale. Hours on the door suggest times when they will be open but also prompt open whenever I feel like it. Good business motto if you ask me.This place is not worth your time. Go somewhere else.

Oh, Groovin High, how I love thee! But man do I hate when you are not open, though! :( It seems that the owner closes the place whenever he feels like it. No big deal, but there is no rhyme to his reason! Whenever I am in the area I drive by really slow to see if the red CLOSED sign is still present. 90% of the time, it is. So when it is open, its a big deal. Speaking of deals, the guy offers some good ones. When he is open, he will do days where he gives 25-40% off of everything! He specializes in records, dvds, vhs, and CDS. This place has a great selection, just not the best hours.

Great selection of literally everything- cds, records, dvds, and even vhs tapes! Got 7 vhs tapes for a friend for $13!

Wow. Took an Uber here and it’s not open. What a waste of time. Skip this place.
